Honor 8X Max "This app may harm your operating system. Installation is not advised" ? - Honor 8X Questions & Answers

Honor 8X Max "This app may harm your operating system. Installation is not advised" ?
Hi all,
While installing a downloaded apk (happens to be the Google Services) onto my Chinese sourced Honor 8X Max, I get a message in red that states "This app may harm your operating system. Installation is not advised." I cannot find anyway to move past/ignore this 'warning' as there are only 'Cancel' and 'Search in App Gallery' buttons presented.
Anyone seen this? Any workarounds please?
Cheers!

What is the name of the application that you can not install? I will check this app on my phone.

Application permission?

When i install an application, the installer shows me the required permission is "modify global system settings".
Would someone tell me what is the feature of this permission?
I cannot find such information in the web.
Thanks.
Some applications, lets take an example of 'Copilot Live' (gps software).. It needs control over GPS and something more, and it means it have permission to access GPS so its the same with your program.. If you installed it from the Market its safe, if you download a app from a unknown source it could be bad.
What you mean is that we do not know "modify global system settings" is harmful or not, right?

As badantii says - if you downloaded your app from the Android Market - it will not be harmful. There's no guarantee if you got the app from somewhere else.

1. Superuser app means your device is rooted
2. It is the application that mediates between your phone and an application attempting to gain ROOT/Admin access.
3. It is very similar to UAC (user account control) in Windows 7, which will ask "Do you want to continue", anytime you or an application wants to perform an administrative task.
4. It is empty because you have not granted any app Root permission. All apps you grant/deny ROOT access, will be listed in the app.
5. Don't touch/(attempt to)remove the app, it will be very useful to you soon. It doesn't have any impact on the performance of your phone.
Hope this info helps you enough

[Q] Google Play stuck 'downloading' help?

I have just installed Android Revolution HD 14.0 but I cannot download any apps from Google Play.
The status bar just stays at "downloading". I have cleared data and cache. My google play is version 3.9.16. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions of a fix would be very much appreciated.

There are some further steps that should resolve the issue you are seeing, as market is also tied into some of the other Google applications:
After step 6 above do the following:
1. Also find applications 'Google Services Framework' and 'Google Play Services'.
2. Force close and clear data for both of these applications.
3. Go into your Google account and disable all the sync options so nothing is ticked.
4. Reboot your device now, do not run any of the applications.
5. Re-enable all your sync options under your google account
6. Re-Boot again, now you can go and try the Play store.
This should resolve both issues mentioned in this thread. It has happened to me on numerous occasion and this has resolved.
Worth a not if you have any of the other play store, Books, Movies, Magazines then it's worth deleting or completing above steps for these too.
Hope this helps.

After removing play store from system apps... then install a latest version .....now it's stuck in downloading ... I can browse smoothly but can't update and download... all the above troubleshooting step don't work... Help!
Same as here.
I'm not able to receive video call on Whatsapp. So, I uninstall it from my device, and when I try to install it, it stuck at downloading. I cleaned the cache and data of play store but still, it is not downloading the app but every time shows that it is downloading the app, but in reality, it does not. Can you please suggest some more ways to fix this problem.

3 things to try.
1, reinstall play store app and services via apk from Apkmirror.com.
2, delete and reinstall your Google profile.
3, wait until later as it is most likely an issue with Google servers.
I have another problem with Google Apps.
After flashing any nougat based custom ROM, and then after installing OpenGapps arm 7.1 my phone stuck with a problem that Google services was stopped.
Try a different version of gapps.

Unbranded Android TV - No android settings app

Hi everyone,
I have an unbranded (sticker brand) Android TV that apparently has a custom firmware with almost everything modified, with the most annoying thing is that they have completely removed the stock Android settings app and replaced it with a custom settings app that has hardly any options. That prevents by from doing even basic stuff such as cleaning app's cache and data. Using ES Task Manager I've verified that they actually removed the settings app and not just the launcher link.
Is there any way I can get the native settings app into the device? Is there any alternative settings app that does a good job? I can install apks from unknown sources but no ADB (no hardware connection to PC).
Also, any rooting advice will also be appreciated but this is not critical. I have no ADB but the Android version is 4.4.2 and not really updated so exploit-based roots may work.
Bump
Hi,
Did you find any solution?
i'm even not able to boot in recovery mode

With the app, you can install google service framework on your Mate30 Phone.
step1: click button "Detect device"
step2: If there is no gms on your phone, click "REPAIR NOW" bottom button in next page.(You need to
activate device first)
step3: wait...(In fact, gms is downloading & installing in background)
step4: login google account.
Everything is ok.
