Ported google camera cannot focus - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

I'm currently using LineageOS 16.0 as my rom, and I've tried many different google camera ports from different developers and all of them can't seem to work properly. It cannot keep the track of focus in the camera mode. So when I tap the screen it will try to focus but it will remain blurry. But the video mode works fine, it focuses properly. This problem only happens when I'm using the ported google camera, so the stock camera and other camera applications works normally. Where did the problem came from and what should I do to solve the problem?
Sorry for bad english, still learning

new Kernel might fix as It did for me 2 times.

[Q] Galaxy S3 Front Camera Crashing

Hello! I recently flashed CM 10.2.1 onto my Galaxy S3 (verizon), and overall I'm completely satisfied with the results. However, I'm no longer able to use the front-facing camera on any third-party apps (facebook, instagram, etc). When I try taking a picture with the front camera, it causes the phone to reboot itself. I've noticed that if I'm using the stock camera from CM 10.2, the front cam works perfectly fine. Yet, when I try using Instagram, Skype, or Camera Zoom FX, the phone is always forced to reboot once I try taking a picture. I was wondering if anyone has ever found a fix for this? Thanks in advance to anyone thay can help shed some light on my issue!

As you own a Verizon S3, you should ask this question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-verizon/help
Good luck with your problem!

Google Camera - Photosphere

Is there any ROM in which Google Camera photosphere works?
In all I tested so far the images in photosphere are blurry.
Regular images are ok.
Same problem here...
I have the same problem. When you talk about Google Camera, did you tried original app that is not visible in the Google Play search (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera) or Cardboard Camera that is returned when I search Google Play store for Google Camera (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.cyclops) . Google Camera works much better but not ideal
Google Camera works for me in general.
4K Video does not work (not important to me, other app can be used)
Photosphere is blurry (big issue for me, since there is no alternative)
I also tried the photosphere coming from Google Streetview - it has exactly the same issue, blurry results.
My assumption is that the issue originates somehow from drivers coming with CM/Lineage.
Since this issue exists also on other phones. E.g Note 3: There it works with stock, but not on the majority of custom ROMs.
Exception on Note 3 is the Resurrection ROM. It works fine there.
Unfortunately Resurrection does not help on LeMax.
Same problem here with Marshmallow and EUI 23s.
I don't think there's a way to fix this

Need help with camera

Hello
I am currently running LiquidRemix pie, happy about it, everything is smooth. However, I have tried several Gcam ports so far, and none seems to work.
Is there one with working focus? I do not mean autofocus, but just manual focus, where I click on object, and cam will focus it. I feel like almost every Gcam port out there tries to autofocus, but fails and focus on nothing, resulting in really blurry images. Other features working well (HDR+ and such).
However, I see many people using Gcam as a main daily driver, so I believe there is a way to make the manual focus work. I am bit lost in the quantity of Gcam ports, so maybe I missed some. Or could it be glitch in LiquidRemix pie rom ?
If it is glitch in LiquidRemix pie rom, please recommend me other. I dont need top notch performance, usually just youtube, sometimes cam, reading reddit and just basic stuff. Long battery life is a big plus too.
Thank you very much for input
Michal
Best gcam for me is BSG test (search for bsg dev on celsoazevedo page)
Autofocus is not an issue of the rom, it's a kernel issue
Try zucc kernel

Kernel fixed that issue, but brought others (media playback issues). I also have occasional data issue, which seems to be common in this rom.
What rom do you use? I would like to use something stable, with that GCAM, that is my only requirments (no need to have Pie, if its possible to have Gcam on oreo)
Thanks for recommendations

Camera video recording lag. Any solution?

Hi there. Since I installed Android 10 ROMs, video recording with any camera is really laggy (5-10 fps). I've tried a lot of solutions: going back to android 9 roms, MIUI, magisk modules, etc... Nothing worked and i'm going crazy. Every ROM I use has this problem and i don't know how to fix it. Both camera sensors are Samsung.

7T Pro w/ Lineage Cam bad --> OOS Cam

Hi there,
I am using CM and LOS for a few years now, on a S4, an OPO and some tablets. Never got problems with it,
everything was working fine. Now I got my new 7T Pro and flashed it with LOS & MicroG and everything is
working fine again, except the cam app. Seems to be, that the LOS cam app only uses the 12MP cam and I
did not see any options to switch the three cams. The cam the app is using makes terrible pictures if it is
getting a little bit darker, then everything gets blurred. So I searched for the OOS cam app and found this:
OnePlus Camera 4.5.44 (READ NOTES)
Is it possible to only install this apk and then it is working? I read about some cam.zip, that have to be flashed
to get it working? Is there a way to get the camera working properly? So nice hardware but the LOS cam app is a no go.
Xmas time, time for next try with camera.
I tried few versions of the OnePlus Camera apks, installs without errors but after starting the app
everything stays black on the display, only the three standard android buttons viewable.
Someone got a hint for me? Only want to get cam working properly.
Found this:
Urnyx05 GCam Port
And now all three cams are working, quality of pictures is much better, night mode and many other
working things. So GCam Port from Urnyx05 works fine on 7T Pro.
