No NFC on Zenfone Max Pro M2
I wish to follow this thread too. I heard that there is NFC in this model in certain regions but not here in Indonesia and Malaysia. Does that mean that the phone has the NFC chip but is disabled here? Is there a way to activate it?

Why would they disable NFC for phones sold in Malaysia and Singapore? NFC payment terminals for goggle pay is found in almost every shop here. I think it's left out to cut costs?

thanks dear
so which version is better the version with NFC or with-out NFC ??
It depends. Do you have a use for, or intend to use NFC? If so then that is the better one. However the device with NFC will probably be slightly thicker.
If you have no need for NFC, no desire to use NFC, then it doesn't matter. If you want NFC functionality then obviously the one with it is better.
Supposedly NFC is going to be rolled out big-time around the UK just before the Olympics, but at present there is almost no where to use it.
Here is a BBC article detailing some of how NFC is used in Japan where it is widespread. At the moment however it is much less common throughout the rest of the world.

If you are a tweaker, and like to create custom tools to aid you, having NCF means you can create custom NCF cards to make life easier (in theory).
If you are not, you will have to see how wide-spread NCF are in your country, region, area, town, whatever. As of now, NCF technology is only widely used in Japan (for years).
For me, I don't really care.

[Q] Is my SGS2 support NFC?

How can i know if my device support NFC (on hardware)?
Do you know what "ezel" means in Dutch?
rhymes with gas ;o)
No NFC hardware on current SG2's that I'm aware of . Apparently there are new updates to the SG2 coming next month in certain countries with NFC built in.

Is there any app that I can learn If my phone support NFC?
Z-Device Test. If your phone has NFC it'll have it right at the bottom.
Only Korean models SHW-M250K and SHW-M250S Galaxy S2s have NFC at the moment, nothing else.

Wow a reply within 5 mins thanks.
From Wikipedia:
However, it has been reported that the UK version will be supplied without an NFC chip at the beginning of its production run[42]
*but Samsung will launch an NFC-equipped version later in 2011.

If you really want to make sure, buy a Korean SGS II Case and if your phone fits perfectly then it has NFC. If it doesn't then it doesn't have NFC. International version aka everywhere except Korea(maybe Japan) has a thickness of .33mm while Koreans(maybe Japanese) have a thickness of .4mm b/c of the NFC chip.
There are a lot of Korean made cases for Korean SGS II just look on Ebay!

I'm sure you mean .4cm not mm, unless you are bending the rules of space time that is of course, which is frankly 100% possible.
It's 0.33mm ticker. I have both o2 uk version and sk korean version and they are indistinguable..
Sent from my SHW-M250S using XDA App

How to flash US version to have fingerprint sensor work?

Hi. I had the international version of the Z5C until it recently died on me.
I decided to buy the US version of the Z5C to replace it since it comes with warranty.
Someone on reddit told me that I could flash my Z5C to enable the fingerprint sensor.
I'm new to all this and I was hoping one of you could show me the way to achieve this, which wouldn't leave me with a 2nd brick.
Thanks!
I am not sure if that's possible but if so it would more than likely require you to install stock ROM of different country through flashtool.
I ordered e5823 through Amazon prime in States and it came with sensor working, so it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work. I believe when people say US version they mean carrier locked phones as z5c has only 2 different model numbers as far as I know with all LTE and 3g bands working on either model, refer to GSM arena model comparison for more info.

Vodafone wallet don't like my phone?!?

Hi to all, i 've downloaded an app to playstore. Its name is "vodafone wallet". Whit this i can do payment with my ncf chip of the phone.
It works (IN ITALY) with many phones like SONY Z5 (mono sim)
I've SONY Z5 DUAL but the chip of nfc is the same of sony Z5.
The app says that's not compatible (maybe it checks the imei? maybe it check the model for working? i don't know).
I'm searchin' for some expert that can give me a suggestion for elude the problem. Maybe can i change some parameter?

It is a comon problem within z5 dual users — some bug in the Vodafone's software simply doesn't recognise the nfc chip if the phone is dual sim
The issue is known for 10 months and they did nothing to solve it
Hey guys i ve to solve this problem for use this vodafone's service. if i change chip? on some market platflorm it costs 10 euros.... but i want to solve
I think that's a check problem of the app.
it check the imei or the code of the phone. mine is E6683.... and maybe is not in the list that the app have in its database.... grrrr
