Yes.
Yes.
Before you unlock the Bootloader, i would recommend you to get root access to the tablet. BACKUP your DRM Keys. Download the same Version as your branded Version. Install it, and try to restore your DRM Keys. Maybe it works. After that install a new version.
Also u can post this on Q&A section

What is the model of the device? Be more specific how are we supposed to help when all you've said is that you need to root a device...
use Kingroot latest version. I just did it on my GF4. Then if you want to switch to custom recovery, just create it yourself by MTK Droid Toos.

What is the current state of play with the V3 Max and custom roms / rooting? I've just bought 2 of these and we ideally need these upgraded to at least Marshmallow and possibly Nouget. If there is no progress I may just have to create the root/rom myself from scratch as this is very important (I am a seasoned developer and programmer as day job). Does anybody know where to download official stock ROM for me to begin?

fastboot oem relock <16-digit code>
it will relock (RE) and not lock actually
for locking you need to purchase a software DC Unlocker and all those stuffs.
but with relock also, you will get the OTAs.
Can you give more information please , what you mean by software DC unlocker

I unrooted mine to do an ota and it relocked through the update. Not sure why? I'm using the AL-10 version and update was from KIW-AL10C92B236
to KIW-AL10C92B245. I never had twrp installed, just used it when needed via fastboot boot twrp.

Might be something to do with my version. The software seems a bit different to the rest. I've noticed that there's no cust partition either. Also for the update I got a message that "the system has been modified and need to download the latest full version". It was done through the emui update app too.

how can i flash a factory image on a xperia xa ultra F3213

Hello everyone
I have been waiting for some time to update my XPERIA XA ULTRA to Nougat 7.0 and have been observing that many people are up to date with the update and would like to know if I can download and install the update manually.
If so, they could help me with the steps and the tools to do it.
Thank you very much.

No, I am waiting for my device to be updated in Guatemala I have it with a carrier here in my country, and I want to know if I can manually put it either with flashtool or from the bootloader update.
(sorry for my bad english )
To use flash tool you would need to have your bootloader unlocked.
I have that most branded xa ultra can't unlock bootloader.

Mine is branded, and can't unlock, useless and ignorant policies preventing us from getting the updates ourselves as the manufacturer doesn't seem to care.
I'm rooted would to flash 7.0 but no us ftf files.
All could fine is a 7,0 Latin America generic ftf and will not take trying to flash it.

You can flash stock ROM with flashtool without unlocking bootloader.
You can regain root after flashed to 7.0 (.182) by flashing boot followed by TWRP.
