Doesn't work for me with pie.
With game tunter I could force the resolution in The Simpsons Tapped out to WQHD+, now the game starts always with lower resolution - feeling liked zoomed in all the time.
Game Launcher does not offer any resolution options.
Ideas?

Yep, this really sucks. It's hard to notice for some games if they're just running at 1080p but Real Racing 3 has always had this problem. Gear Club needed overclocking (hardware boost) with Game Tuner to play smoothly on Exynos Note 9 at 1440p.
Also, Game Launcher used to have fullscreen mode but now it doesn't under the game tools tab. Now, games that are not yet optimized like Horizon Chase and Smash Hit can only run at 16:9.

[Q] Games performance after 4.4 update?

KitKat allows apps/games to use "immersive mode" to keep the navigation and status bars hidden while maintaining user interaction.
1. Did you notice this change after the update. Can you play games like Asphalt 8, Dungeon Hunter 4 in true Full Screen mode now (with status and nav bars hidden)?
2. Any performance drops in Games after the update?
3. What games do you play on your XZU?

1. Yes Asphalt 8 runs on Full Screen Mode. Haven't tried others but they should update their apps to do that, not KitKat default behavior (it's just an option so devs need to activate the mode first)
2. Seems the same, some stutter here and there at Asphalt 8 race intro, but in the game it is smooth
3. Asphalt 8, Riptide 2 (not installed yet after KitKat update)

Thanks. Please post screenshot of Asphalt 8 playing on XZU 4.4. And what about other apps like Web Browser and Whatsapp etc? Are they running in full screen too with nav bar hidden? I guess several apps were updated recently to support this feature.

My phone is charging right now, maybe later. But it is guaranteed to run full screen. Web Browser and Whatsapp doesn't use Immersive Mode AFAIK. Only games or e-book reader that might implement that mode.

OK, no problem. :good: If there is no performance drop then 4.4 update is MUST for avid gamers. I really disliked the nav bar while playing games. The full immersive mode feature alone is worth the update despite other minor bugs being reported by users.

I think GTA San Andreas is already directly ported to android.
Link here.
Since this is already a port, it should be much smoother, and have better controls integrated as compared to playing it through ppsspp.
I play soul calibur. Very smooth

Modern Combat 5 Looks Terrible

I just downloaded Modern Combat 5 on my Tab S (10.5) and it looks terrible. It just doesn't seem optimized for the tab s. Very blurry/fuzzy looking. Anybody else have this problem?
it even look ugly in note 3...
Bad games are bad.
looks great on my tab s 8.4
The game resolution seems very low on my 8.4......either that or the screen makes the game look bad.
Sounds like a fatality to me. Badumpa.
This game could be like Photoshop on QHD screens, it just doesn'twork.
It is - as usual - looking brilliant only on a few devices, none of which is manufactured by samsung. It will - as usual, too - change until next versions are released. What you can do as for now...
1) decompile Modern Combat 5 apk file using apktool, edit /res/values/scaleprofile.json and set all the "value" keys varying from 85-50 to 100 or add your model symbol ("sm-t700" or "sm-t705") in "specific section" right after other models which are forced to use 100% resolution, recompile again (I cannot however say if recompiling apks is breaking or is not breaking gameloft's license... if it does then it will be illegal to do it, anyway!) - this will increase the resolution.
EDIT: indeed, the file can be edited and re-packed to apk without compiling at all, just using some archiver like winrar and opening apk file. However, after replacing the file you will need to re-sing the apk.
2) use GLTools and force mock Tegra 4 GPU - this will enable the highest quality setting.
Tested on Note Pro 12.2 LTE which is almost same hardware as TabS's LTE. After enabling both above tweaks game still run fine, but looks MUCH better.
I have the same problem with my tab pro 10.1 wifi. It seems the probelm is related to exynos chipset. Is there any possible woraround that doesnt require root?
can this tablet even handle playing at full resolution? I doubt it will run any faster than 30fps..

i used Gltool but nothings changed .. do you know how to use it ?
They released an update but still no change. Apparently they added the option to change GFX setting on some devices but still not on the tab S.

Playing games in vr

I am using a nexus 6p with rooted latest android n preview.
The app "3d games" by tridef is able to show a lot of mobile games such as final fantasy and minecraft in 3d. The problem I have is that all of these apps are 16:9 just like my phone! So when "3d games" produces a side by side image, it is small and does not give any immersion at all.
What I was wondering is if there is a way to launch an app in a set aspect ratio without just changing the size of your screen. Anyone that can help?

Changing the resolution itself in games or other applications

Hi, I have a problem with my redmi note 4x is a problem with the mortal Kombat game and at the original resolution you can see how the game has no liquidity, I read that you need to have root and the application gltools goes wonder, the button true does not work for me, then to play xposed and app setting do as I write or what my mind tells me and the same frames can be seen as there are a lot of effects and animations in the game like flames etc, the last thing that works is by the android terminal as typing in size 720x1280 and in density 280 and then it's great extra cool but this changes the resolution of the whole phone, and I would like the phone to be original, ie 1080x1920 and 460 no, but then the game is cut, can be done to change the resolution in the game itself if so, please answer
