Strange text on WiFi settings screen - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

So the other day I noticed strange text in the wifi settings menu. This text is visible in both the mini menu accessed through clicking on the name of the currently connected wifi network on the wifi toggle in the notification menu, as well as in the full settings menu. Please see screenshot attached. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Not a huge issue, but a little annoying and I'd love to make this stuff go away.

Found the answer in another forum. Ended up being WiFi Verbose Logging somehow got turned on in Developer Settings. Thanks!

[Q] Missing menu option???: Can't change E-mail notification ringtone

Hi,
I'm on ROM Batista 3.5 with a very strange and annoying problem: the menu option to change the ringtone for my Gmail accounts is missing. On my HTC Desire I simply go to Gmail-Menu-More-Settings-Notification settings- Select ringtone.
On my Galaxy S2 this menu option is completely missing. I can go to Gmail-Menu-More-Settings-(pick an account)-Notification settings, but the select ringtone and all the other E-mail notification options are just not there. I'm pretty sure I had the exact same problem on ROM Litening v5.0. Google/XDA search seems to suggest I'm the only one so far facing this problem.
The E-mail notification is now set as the sms ringtone and its' driving me nuts. Does anyone know how I can change or at least kill the E-mail ringtone (and reactivate the relevant menu options in the settings menu)? Am I totally daft and missing the menu option or is something more serious going on in my ROM?
Solved!
Apparently you have to click through to "labels to notify" to get to the settings. No idea which Korean engineer came up with that one, but at least it's solved...
I don't have that ROM or that problem, but thanks for posting the solution. No doubt someone else will have the same problem.
This problem only occurs from Gmail 2.3.5 onwards, because they changed the location of the settings.
I can not find this setting anywhere either. Been hunting for 30 minutes now.
I went to labels but I don't see anything there either. Where the heck did they hide these settings?
EDIT:
Menu -> More -> Settings
Under the account settings heading, tap your email account name.
Scroll to the bottom.
Tap Labels to notify.

Thanks for this...I to was gong nuts trying to find it after flashing 2.3.5 rom!

WiFi network notification

Has anyone found out how to disable the WiFi available notification when you aren't connected to a network?
My suggestion is to shut off WiFi when you're not in range. HTC has widgets that make it quick & easy. And you'll save battery.

thanks for that suggestion but that is not an option for me.
Go to your Settings ==> wireless and networks ==> wifi settings ==> notify me (uncheck that box)
Did that

Mine has always been unchecked but regardless continues to notify me when wifi is turned on.
mine is also unchecked and the notifications still pop-up
any other suggestions?
Only ROM's I've found this to be possible on were the Sense-less ones. Otherwise, you're going to have to live with that. Same thing goes for the SMS sent messages request. It's annoying, but it is what it is.
Are we talking about the little notification in the notification bar or the full screen notification. Unchecking that box will stop the full screen notification but the little WiFi icon will still pop up in the corner. If that bothers you you should lay off the caffeine.
anyone found a way around this issue. there is bound to be away to enable the normal notifcation check box
I, too, have found this to be very annoying!

do any custom roms have the old option to disable wifi available.
Yep both Nils and Joelz BAMF you can turn off this notification. I just did it today as a matter of fact.
does anyone know how they enabled in their custom roms

Um..where are the bluetooth settings?

Seriously, i feel like a complete idiot. Where in the hell are the bluetooth settings after the ICS update? Also, while we're at it the only way i can get into Wi-Fi settings is by dropping down the window shade, going to quick settings and then clicking on the wi-fi icon. Where the hell are the actual settings menus?

wow, totally not intuitive, only can access bluetooth settings once you turn it on. Same for wifi
In the Settings menu (via the icon in the app drawer or Menu softkey > Settings from the home screen) click on the text itself to the left side of the toggle switches.
Edit: yep, you can access WiFi's Advanced options while off, but not Bluetooth's settings. It is rather dumb.

[Q] Wifi won't auto connect

Having a small but annoying issue here.
I find that if I turn on wifi with widgets or quickpanel in SystemUI, the wifi will take very long, or sometimes never auto connect. However, opening up settings and pressing scan results in instant connection.
Thanks in advance.
I don't have your issue and I use a notification panel created by the Power Toggles. (this was not an advertising message)
Try to create a shortcut to the WI-FI settings by:
- long press on 'desktop'
- select 'Shortcuts'
- scroll to the 'Settings shortcut', click on it;
- scroll to the 'Wi-Fi'
I know this is not so fancy like a widget or another setting app, but should be more quickly to access and I think is a workaround for your issue.

[Q] Wifi notification

Guys - any way to avoid the attached notification from popping up every time I enter a new area? The S3 did not do that and I can't find a setting to turn this off. I don't mind a taskbar notification like 'available wifi networks' but don't want this popup
Thanks
This will disable the popup but, will not have a wifi notification of any kind pop up relating to "wifi available"... Settings->Wifi->then uncheck "Notify Me"
this is on scrosler's CleanRom v1 found here
so i guess no such option with the verizon build right?
