Should I flash my S9+ to change it's UAE CSC? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I just got a Samsung Galaxy S9+, International Version, that'll be use here in the US 99% of the time.
Apparently, it has a United Arab Emirate CSC. Because of this, I can only install and use the UAE version of Samsung Pay app. The UAE Samsung Pay app only accept VISA card payments. Not AmEx card, which I have one. I don't really care about Samsung Pay, because I don't use it much. I can fix the issue by flashing it to use an EU country CSC. I don't want to bother flashing my S9+ just to change the CSC, because it might erase everything on the phone which I already had set up and ready to use.
Will the UAE CSC cause any problem on the S9+ here in the US?
Should I change the CSC?

I think you should flash that for better network connectivity & software update

You can create a full backup of your device using smart switch and restore it after flashing the new firmware. If you want a European CSC, the best one would be DBT (Germany), as that's the one that receives updates the fastest. Btw., what's the current CSC? XSG or LYS?

[Q] Newbie GS3 Region / Update questions

Hey guys
Im new to the galaxy s3 and samsung, I recently got my GS3 from newegg, unlocked international version.... I was wondering how to know which region the phone was from? I tried googling but i cant seem to find the answer. I came from an SE Arc S, SE had SI numbers so I could tell, but what does samsung use?
Also, there is no update for the latest LFB firmware yet... Does Samsung rollout firmwares for different regions in stages like SE? I'd like to keep everything stock..
When I press *#1234#, I get the following:
ap: i9300ubalf3
cp: i9300ublf2
csc: i9300uubalf3
Thanks
My understanding is that yours is Trinidad and Tobago.
Search for i9300uubalf3 on google and hit the sammobile result.
I think you can follow @SGS3Update on twitter to see if yours got the update, though I'm not sure how reliable this it. Technically, Kies should offer the update as soon as Samsung makes it avail.
What I still don't quite get is the role of CSC. More importantly, can we flash it independently of the firmware? And if so, which CSC canadian and US users should be flashing?

CSC can be flashed as a separate item .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
Says
CSC is the consumer software customisation and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.
CSC has nothing to do with what languages the firmware supports and it will not add keyboard language support either.
CSC not required for phone to work .
jje
Thanks,
Since there is no CSC for Canada or USA, I take it that there is no point in changing it (except for maybe getting faster official updates?)
As far as MMS and Data, in Canada and USA, we'll need modify APN separately since there is no CSC?

Hi, I also have the same CSC as the original poster, Located in Trinidad. Do you know which csc receives the updates as they are released? I want to flash mine to whatever it is.
I had the same *#1234# as OP. I flashed every modem found on the thread here and signal quality results weren't any better. Checked for updates and got nothing. I noticed that most talk about XXBLFB (UTB) UK, so I chose to flash that firmware. Just to be in the same playing field. I am using my phone in the Miami, FL USA area.

Flashed the UK latest firmware, UK CSC and it works fine with Rogers here. The rogers APNs are automatically in the APN list, I guess they get that from the sim?

Change CSC

Hi,
I have a Samsung S9+ Unlocked (MXO) Is possible to change the CSC code in order to get updated quickly? It is still on September update.
Check at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G9650/MXO/ here you can select the CSC you want and check which CSC got more recent update, but it seems mostly all are on same page/patch...
But changing CSC may result in some extra problems mainly warranty, VOLTE and SPay and all..
Since your seems not snapdragon you may have more options in hand..
But think before changing CSC as if you opted samsung they u have already taken decision to bare slow stream of updates.... and oreo is not yet near so why in hurry...

MXO is the unbranded CSC on México, Im guessing flash some CSC from USA. Will it be OK?

CSC regions options for USA (United States)

Can anyone tell me which is the best CSC to use with this rom here in the United States?
I have used BTU and DBT CSC in my old Samsung phones and both worked just fine.
BTU, DBT or is there a better CSC I should use?
I have a SM-G965F/DS Galaxy S9+ phone.
I have two sim cards, one is T-Mobile and the other is Mintmobile and both work on the T-Mobile networks.
I can download most any CSC and install it with no problems but I would like to know which works best
in USA with a SM-G965F Galaxy S10+ factory unlocked phone. (Exynos version phone)
Any help would be much appreciated...
Have a great day!

If in the USA use FKR

Change region for samsung pay.

Hi!
I got a Samsung S21, model nr SMG991B/DS. Which seems like the international version. But my software version has DTM in it (according to samsung support, this is the german version).
So because I have the german version I can't use Samsung pay properly its looked to the german region. So I would like to flash it so it changes to Nordics region.
Is this possible if so how or is there any other way to change the region for samsung pay?
The phone is not locked to a carrier.

Hi mate
Yes there are ways , check my post here
For Samsung Pay to work the phone CSC and the Samsung pay account must be from the same country , in your case if phone region (CSC) if from Germany but your Samsung Pay account if from somewhere else it will not work ...
So first thing you should do is check your phone CSC go to Settings /About phone / Service Information .. there check under service provider software , you will see the CSC information in your case in this format XXX/ ZZZ,ZZZ/ YYY
XXX will be you active CSC, this is the one you need to change to the right country
ZZZ are sim related, with dual sim you got 2 sets
YYY can't be changed is the region where to the phone was manufactured for , not important , it has no effect
Hi!
UNder service provider software i get DTM/DTM,DTM/EUX/DTM. So I'm guessing thats germany.

Hi
DTM is Dutch T-Mobile (Germany) .
You need it to change to your Country / Samsung Pay account to make it work
Is not that much the rom but the CSC , you may need to flash a new rom if your desire CSC is not installed in your current rom...
How do I find out if the CSC is in my current rom? I need the swedish CSC.

That is tricky but , is probable that your country CSC is there , most european countries are under the same rom...
This is the latest rom for Sweden
ModelSM-G991BModel nameGalaxy S21CountrySwedenVersionAndroid 11Changelist21556388Build dateSat, 01 May 2021 04:56:49 +0000Security Patch Level2021-05-01Product codeHTSPDAG991BXXU3AUE1CSCG991BOXM3AUE1
G991BXXU3AUE1 region is described as XXU and you said that your current rom is G991BXXU3AUF6 , also XXU... so i will say your country CSC should be there....
Worst case scenario... just flash the Swedish rom

Question Flashing a different CSC of different model. Question.

I have samsung galaxy f22 (smE225f). Its only available in few countries in the world, namely india, bangladesh, and nepal. I bought it in one of these countries and rooted it.
I want to use it in USA, i am wondering about flashing it with AP, BL, CP of the country of origin. However, which CSC file to use in this case. There is no F22 sold by samsung in USA.
Let's say samsung sells A71 in USA, so, will my phone be alright if I try to flash the CSC file of A71 in F22?
And what should I do about the root? should I unroot and then flash this again?
