Upgrade BLA-L29 to EMUI 9 with TWRP - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hello, my current version is 8.0.0.145 (C432) and I want to update to latest possible EMUI 9. I have TWRP installed so I can't OTA. I also have Magisk installed. I can't find instructions of what and how to flash.
When I'm on EMUI 9 I'm going to install Magisk using this guide.

RN3P (Kate): Global Stable MIUI 9 + Magisk + Xposed (which version?)

I just upgraded my Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition (Kate) to Global Miui 9 (V9.2.3.0.MHRMIEK).
I was able to install Magisk 16 via TWRP flash.
I tried to install Xposed via the Material Design Xposed Installer by DVDAndroid, but it just gets stuck on boot (on the MI splashscreen).
What version of Xposed should be used? It's MIUI9, obviously 64bit for our phone, but still Marshmallow.
Thanks!

Official Xposed might not work with MIUI. You might have to use the modified version of Xposed developed by Solarwarez, specifically for MIUI. For marshmallow, the version is sdk23.

Ok, thanks for this!
I'm under the impression I should be installing Xposed using Magisk, is that right? Or should I just find the version using DVDAndroid's Xposed installer app?
Same here buddy
Failed to install exposed after this upgrade
It stops on the miui bootscreen for horus
Tried even different exposed versions like 87.1 87.2 nothing works.... I wonder why not this upgrade

Are you having problems flashing Magisk?
I used ZCX-Twrp, and had no problems flashing Magisk. If you're having problems, try to flash the Magisk uninstaller and try again.

Magisk on huawei mate 10 lite

I have the mate 10 lite and i want to root using magisk, cause this way im still able to use snapchat and some other apps, the problem is that the bootloader is permanent locked, is there anyway to still install magisk and use the roothide function or is it not possible.

root honor 10 view emui 9.1.0.361

Hi, do you know if it is possible root honor 10 view with emui 9.1.0.361?
Is it possible to update future firmware Ota with Magisk?
I need to root honor without downgrade current firmware...
Is there any way to get root permissions?
Thanks a lot
Yes you can root if your bootloader is unlocked using magisk
To upgrade in future you need to restore stock recovery_ramdisk, uninstall magisk and use Ota update

honor 9 rollback

Hi,
I need help I have a honor 9 (STF-L09 8.0.0.385C482) I downgrade twice 9.1 to 9.0 and 9.0 to 8.0.0.385 with hisuite.
But I can't rollback anymore, I need to rollback to under below 8.0.0.367.
I tried multiple software like
Hisuite 9.0.3 : no more option previous version
Firmware finder : (incompatible or failed update) with sd card and folder dload >> update.app
Hisuite proxy : download firmware but when it's installing I have error message no connexion
I tried to extract update.app and tried to flash system but my bootloader is locked so impossible to flash it.
Anybody have maybe a firmware to rollback below 8.0.0.367 or in emui 5.1 ?
You cant downgrade under below first GPU turbo firmware.

You mean 8.0.0.385 is the first implementation of GPU turbo feature ? So i cant downgrade below ?
But i read it's from 8.0.0.355 the first GPU turbo added on honor 9.

[QUESTION] How to upgrade kernel in Huawei P20 Lite?

I want to upgrade kernel in Huawei P20 Lite from 4.9.111 ---> 4.9.148.
I tried to flash kernel 4.9.148 but, after flashing the phone got stuck at bootloop untill I rolled back to kernel 4.9.111.
You may say why I need to upgrade kernel to 4.9.148? Because I have Android 12.1 GSI installed with unlocked bootloader and I wanted to install Android 13 but, it didn't work and the phone got stuck at bootloop even with VNDKLite GSI, after that I saw in some thread that I must have kernel 4.9.148 in order to get Android 13 GSI working on Huawei.
I don't want to flash EMUI 9.1 Firmware because it will lead to relock bootloader. Anyone knows how can I upgrade kernel?
Note: Current firmware base installed is EMUI 9.0 with kernel 4.9.111 on Android 12.1 GSI and all GSIs work up to Android 12.1.
