Mi 8 Chinese variant Global Rom with Unlock Bootloader revert to China Rom - Xiaomi Mi 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

I have Mi 8 Chinese version with unlock bootloader Global Rom before. I revert it back and flashed to China Stable Rom 10.2.2.0 Now I want to lock the bootloader again to bind it with my account, since seller's account was used to unlock the bootloader. Is it safe to lock it with China Stable Rom? I read in other sites that you only have to used Dev China Rom, or it will brick.

I think it will be ok.

Interesting... This should works. I ordered a Mi 8 China variant too (unlocked with global rom), and I will consider this option to re-lock - unlock the device by myself. But I'm really afraid about brick or unlocking time.
If anyone tried, please share your experience!

yeah, that was the site i'm referring, it says china dev rom only. i hope someone will confirm for us to be able to relock it again and bind it with our accounts

No need to relock bootloader!
Chinese sellers used Xiaomi leaked dev accounts which are made to unlock bootloaders without any accounts. This is complete safe. If you are already unlocked then its safe to bind your account and play with Xiaomi.eu rom or others.

I like to lock the bootloader again so i can bind my account when i unlock it again in miunlock tool. because if my unit becomes soft brick, it will say Mi account is not bound in this device.

I have the same problem already unlocked from a shop with Global rom.
So if I relock and unlock again I wont have a problem with account binding?
Is this right?
Thanks

You can't lock bootloader. It will brick.

Use the full ROM Fastboot CHINA ROM images for China Phones, again -using CHINA VERSION ONLY. You can then lock your phone back. If you try locking the phone with a GLOBAL ROM on a China phone -you will perma-brick (without EDL account).
*** MAKE SURE YOU FLASH THE FULL ROM PARTITIONS USING THE FASTBOOT IMAGE METHOD. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOCK YOUR PHONE BY FLASHING ONLY THE RECOVERY ROM ZIPS.

Redmi Note 3 Pro - Snapdragon (From China To Global)

Hello.
I just got my phone. I've imported the phone from China, so it's running Chinese ROM.
ROM is: MIUI V7.2,2.20.LHOCNDA
Now there is no Play Store.. I had Nexuses, OnePlus, M8, S6 edge.. And many other Android phones. I've rooted all of them. I am familiar with ADB, I know how to unlock bootloader on Nexus, OnePlus..
I've read trough the Redmi Note 3 PRO forum, and I see there can be problems with unofficial unlock. So I just applied for the official Unlock...
So can I flash the Global ROM with locked bootloader? If yes, how?
Can I root the Global ROM after the flash? If yes, how?
Can I unlock the bootloader on Global ROM?
What is the difference with Global ROM and dev. ROM?
Is there any reliable unlock method besides the official one? I am getting confused reading all of the way's to do it.
Any answerer will be appreciated :good:

if you want Play Store and multi lang you need global rom, but again be carefull with flashing
i don't recommend unlocking but for that you need dev rom otherwise you will get this error "Couldn't verify device at 50%"

xiaomi eu rom showing me an error

i am getting this error in this eu rom and i did Every possible thing i clean flashed and wiped everything but no luck .. please help me ... i am getting this error
did you connect to internet while setting up ROM?
did you remove any system related app?
just reboot while doing setup and got this one
Yep, simple reboot (it's not always working) or wipe dalvik and cache. If it's not working install again the rom, sometimes do this, so don't worry.

Damn man, you share the same issue with me, I always wanna get back to miui but this this is annoying, even I can pass this by rebooting the phone but the settings will always force close, it said "settings has stopped working" or something like that, hence I cannot open the settings (always force close right after opening). So, maybe I don't belong to this ROM again and stick to custom ROM.

Clean flash rom and remove sim cards and keep wifi disabled when booting.

May i know why no official unlock. With official unlock it is much easier to do modification than the unofficially unlock.

I have asked for unlocking permission but till now I haven't got any replies from xiaomi, so in my mind instead of waiting for a long long time why don't I go just unlock it unofficially, and I unlocked it that way.

Just go to unlock site , when you enter the unlock, if it was bootloader unlock tool download page ( if you are in your request verification like that page means you have to wait ) you are given permission to unlock and download the tool and run in your PC definitely one click unlock .all happened to me. They were not send SMS to everybody.
I browsed androidfilehost.com and found the fix for your issue but sorry as I won't provide the link that's non ethical. Just in case you want to, just google "androidfilehost kenzo" . you will find the file probably after going thru like more than two pages. Good luck

isn't there any other way to bypass this setup? Anyone got any solution?
Even xiaomieu forum have no solution for this issue.
just don't connect to internet(wifi or cellular data) during first setup and you're good to go. add the accounts(google/mi) later from settings.

That the problem with China company phone. Very slow to adopt new technology in their department. While all around the world using automated system to granted the unlock bootloader. The Xiaomi is still using "human" to grant the unlocker bootloader code
Xiaomi human staff grant unlock code might suddenly can do mistake and they cant process million of application while on the other hand the computerized system can grant applications very fast than human process.

1. You need a developer ROM version for unlocking the bootloader officially.
2. According to Mi Unlock Policy, you can use the permission for one month before it runs invalid. If it runs invalid, you need to re-apply for the permission, then unlock the bootloader.
Hit Thanks if I Helped You!!!

I've applied for unlocking months ago and i can unlock the bl anytime i want just be careful that it requires a sms verification code when changing computers, so keep your phone working while you do that, or Mi Flash won't work.
Afaik, it doesn't require any special things for unlocking the bl, it will work no matter what you have installed on it, goos luck unlocking.

Guys, it has been said many times...
Only for the first time unlocking you might need to flash china/global dev to unlock it via fastboot.
To do that, simply boot in fastboot, boot in EDL, flash with MiFlash latest china dev fastboot ROM, flash zcx TWRP and then you can flash whatever you want, if BL gets locked anytime again while flashing (phone will blink and turn off), just boot in fastboot (only thing you can do at that point), run MiFlashUnlock, sign in, unlock, reboot)
Thats it, couldnt be more simple

Just use official guide to flash through EDL, you cant possibly screw anything on snapdragon devices

No, you do not need developer rom afaik to unlock the bootloader, probably he just meant that you have to enable usb debugging from developer settings, that's a must.
---------- Post added at 09:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 PM ----------
Just try unlocking it with mi flash and see if anythinf goes wrong thru the process, you simply cannot screw the device with anything by doing that, if anything goes wrong and you can't unlock the device post it here so we can help you forward with the process, good luck.

Guys, does all this applies the same to the "Kate" Version ? Basically just as a reference also i have a Redmi note 3 pro Special edition (international/global), running android v6.0.1 MMB29M, Security Patch 2016-11-01, MIUI Global 8.1 Stable 8.1.1.0 (MHRMIDI).....any advice please !
This applies to any xiaomi phone ;
By permission i understand unlocking approval, yes, go to xiaomi unlock and apply for unlocking and when you get the rights to unlock ( i hadn't recieved any kind of email, i just checked by practice ) go and do it.

[HELP] Redmi 5 plus from Tampered ROM to Global ROM

Hello,
I just recently joined here on this forum and I'm about to get my first Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus on Monday and since it's on its way being delivered and I've heard a lot of response on the seller that I bought that their phones are using Tampered ROMs and I want to know if there's any way that I can change it? the ROM I mean from being Tampered to Global ROM. If there's any, can you provide any links or tutorials? That would mean a lot to me. I'm not very techy, especially on Phones and this is my first ever Xiaomi phone after Zenfone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
is there other way to get rid of being tampered rom without using testpoint?

Question How to install the EU rom?

Hey guys,
I'll be receiving my Mi 11x Pro today. Before going ahead with the setup, I'd love to simply install the EU rom and begin my new phone usage from there.
I'm a long-time MIUI user and my MI account has bootloader unlock privileges. Can someone guide me on how to install the EU rom? Just a simple step by step would be fine, as I'm able to maneuver through installing TWRP and rooting, etc., on my Poco F1.
If you have a link to the guide, then that would be highly appreciated.
Thanx a lot in advance for the help
Edit: I'm mostly going for EU rom because of MI dialer and hopefully the default call recorder that comes with it. Apart from that, I don't know if there are any issues installing the EU rom on an Indian Mi 11x Pro.
Request BL unlock (takes 7 days), Unlock BL, get the latest EU stable fastboot rom, put phone into fastboot mode, then just open the eu rom folder and choose flash_all_new or flash_all_erease_setup as new or whatever its called
Does eu rom have more bugs, how is camera performance compared to global
