Screen freeze and touch lag - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I have used my pocophone for almost 1 month.....but last 10 days screen is freezing very often and touch is lagging....what should I do now....any fix for this...any custom rom or wait for miui developer to fix or it's a hardware issue and should I replace my poco with honor play?

try formatting/wipe everything or clean flashing the same or another rom and see if the problem persists.

i tried eu rom miui 10 pie.....wifi wasnt stable and flashed franco kernel then my phone restarted randomly!
now on miuipro 9.1.24......so far its ok but battery performance of all miui 10 pie is less compared to miui 9.6 oreo.

Its a common problem with newer FTS panels, i thought the new vendor firmware will fix it and i went a whole day on 9.2.18 without a touch freeze, till it happened, seems like its better though and i hope its fixed soon

I'm going through a similar problem. I had installed miui.eu, at a certain time, when opening an app everything froze, I needed to lock and unlock the screen to return to normal. I did full wipe, I installed NOS and so far this has not happened.

I've tried lineage os ,miui pie global stable and xiaomi.eu without any problem.
Pixel experience gave me random reboots.
But as a daily driver I use xiaomi.eu pie with extrême kernel v9 (70Hz variant since my screen was capable to support it) and the magisk module lkt configured on balanced.
And I disable the screenshot shortcut with the 3 fingers going down. Because on miui global stable I was facing issues with this option so I assumed it would be the same on xiaomi.eu.

fts_ts

Never experienced any screen related problem using the xiaomi.eu rom.
I don't know how to see my type of screen, however if you point me the way to do it, I'll check it.
And I forgot to tell you earlier but I'm using the vendor firmware V10.1.3.0-9.0 found on the akhilnarang mirror.
EDIT: dsi_tianma_fhd_nt36672a_video_display

I got two screen freezes in 3 days(as opposed to 3-4 a day before) on the 9.2.18 vendor i just updated to 9.2.21 and lets see if its better!

Fts, sorry for the delay to respond, I'm testing roms and kernels to see if it softens the problem. The only rom that did not give a problem with screen freeze was the OxygenOS GSI.

Then it maybe caused by several issues,
1. Old firmware
2. Malfunctioning core gapps
3. Maybe a hardware related problem
4. Restoration of apps using titanium backup
5. Wrong Wake lock blocker settings which prevent phone form waking up on critical wakelock such as gmscore wake locks, which will definitely results in delayed notifications (tested by myself)
Maybe gms dose for magisk can also be responsible.

Here's my situation:
1. I placed latest global firmware I could get my hands on. I'm not sure was it beta or stable.
2. This is a GApps issue?
3. I'm pretty sure it's not since I came from Havoc 2.0 just 2 weeks ago. Before AEX 6.1 it worked normally.
4. I used Migrate to restore apps.
5. I don't use any wake lock blocker whatsoever

beryllium-9.4.1-9.0
I am using pixel experience CAF version and vendor 9.4.1... there is no touch issues .. try CAF version and clean flash it
This happens for me too whenever I have TWRP recovery installed, with any ROM (both stock *and* custom ones). I only get this behaviour when entering my SIM cards PIN code or when booting TWRP (I can't swipe so I must turn the screen off, wait for about 5 seconds, then turn it in again)
On PE aosp u can flash miui kernel and fix it! Idk about caf.

I flashed these :
beryllium-9.4.8-9.0-vendor-firmware.zip
kernal-beryllium_global_9.4.8-ak2.zip
Is it correct?
u wont face any touch issues if u use 9.3.28 kernel, only stock kernel has no issues with touch, idk if pe will boot with it or not... try it yourself, bt i am sure that 9.3.28 has the best touch drivers.

I already have PE aosp installed with 9.5.8-9.0 vendor-firmware on my Poco F1. Is it alright to flash just the MIUI kernel (kernel-beryllium_global_9.4.8-ak2.zip) and nothing else?
Or do I need to repeat the whole flashing firmware / installing PE OS thing?

Thanks Philliped346 for those links. Where is the thread about los16 on 4PDA ?*Is it in the global thread related to Redmi 3 / 3*Pro ?*Because I didn't found it. Do you know if it will be monthly updated with security patches ? I suppose there will be no ota since it's unofficial.
Currently testing it, seems to work fine, but I have a problem with usb connection with the computer. I cannot connect it, everything is grayed out (see screenshot). Same for you ?

same problem with usb on both LOS16 and RR7 i think just in redmi3pro devices (but at least you can do some developer thing to fix this temporary usb confg==>set to file transfer)
ambient display doesn't work at all
try O2 kernel ===>stuck in mi logo
so much lag in paly pubg
finger-print so slow
just a bit LOS16 better than RR7
and overall i've experience gsi so much smoother than these even for usual daily usage

I'm gonna try Superior OS, also if you have graphical glitches as I mentioned put this line on build.prop:
debug.hwui.renderer=opengl
That's going to solve that minimal issue

Random "restart" , crashes on MIUI EU.

As the title says I'm having random restarts / crashes. The phone doesn't completely restart (i.e boot logo doesn't appear), instead just turns to black screen and them comes back in a few seconds and I've to unlock it using a pin (first unlock needs a pin in MIUI).
I'm on MIUI 9.6.13 EU rooted with latest magisk, unlocked and TWRP installed. I can't take logs as this crash is really really random. I don't know when it'll happen. I'll just be browsing or watching a video or playing a game or just browsing the UI and it'll crash.
Any help is appreciated thay may help get past this crash or any way I can get a log.
I really don't want to reset and reinstall and reconfigure everything.

Have you tried to dirty flash the same miui eu rom via twrp?
Any magisk module you use? custom kernel?
I just move to miui eu stable 3 days ago from global beta. I met some issues like theme app cannot be updated to the latest via xiaomi app store due to region issue and Cluster 2 max CPU frequency was set to 825 mhz instead of 2803 mhz.
miui eu stable 10.3.5.0+ TWRP+ Magisk+Sphinx kernel.

Yes, tried dirt flashing but to no Vail.
Magisk modules : BusyBox, camera ir enabler, debloater (only to debloate find device).
No custom kernel. Stock only.
I've been using EU from a long time and never faced any issues only until now. The reason I stay on beta is due to notifications as Xiaomi has still to implement the same in stable MIUI versions.
EU has region locked to Poland as I remember because everything works on Poland.
My CPU frequencies seem to be fine and not locked to any particular one.

Ok, try this way. Temporary remove all your magisk module via teeminal in twrp if can. If really cannot. Worst case will be a full wipe. But try backup as many files as possible in twrp.
But Eu beta will come to an end if global beta stops on July this year. That's the reason I'm in Eu stable.

I remember disabling all my magisk modules before but I'll try again.
I know that open beta is going to end but we still don't know what they're gonna do to the closed beta. Fingers crossed. ?

I have thrown this question in miui Eu community forum, the answers are as below:
MarkHUK (founder of miui Eu) Quoted:
I would just keep checking for info as we are not 100% of the China side schedule for now.
Igor Eisberg(patch/mod developer) Quoted:
If no Global Beta ROMs will be released for POCO F1, then there won't be Xiaomi.eu Weekly ROMs for the device as well.
Mark was right to say need to check on China side schedule but poco f1 doesn't have any China rom at all. So Igor should be right about it.

Is flashing the Magisk uninstall ZIP sufficient?

What does this really mean? I don't understand.. And where can I find this thread?
Will there be a solution at one point or is it not certain at this time? In which case what are the alternatives?
I've met the same problem several times on latest EU beta build with Magisk working in core only mode, so I think the soft reboot problem might not be caused by any 3rd-party Magisk module.

1. Depends on what miui version you have, you just reflash the same rom version on top of it via twrp.
2. This is the first time I flash to miui EU stable from global beta. The ROM is at the miui Eu website. The themes and CPU frequency are the issues I'm currently facing.
3. To remove magisk, the uninstall zip will remove all including magisk itself.
4. That is from miui community forum. And that's the answer I got from the people.
Solution remains unknown until global beta stopped.
I assume once global beta stopped, miui Eu beta will stop too, since poco f1 only got global stable/beta only, no China ROM.
I had exactly the same problem as you last week.
Then I had no special things, like Magisk modules, installed. It was just a rooted stock ROM before.
The result after flashing the Xiaomi.EU ROM was a bootloop.
I tried to solve it two days long.
There was no other option than wipe the phone data.
And yes, I lost all my personal data like photo's, video's, docs,...
Now, I've installed Pixel Experience. Best ROM on Pocophone I've yet tried.

I used pixel experience, lineage but to my surprise switched back to MIUI EU. I was just spoiled by the gesture navigation and had gotten too used to them (and the first party MIUI features like app lock and second space etc). The fluid navigation gesture app works sometimes and sometimes just doesn't. And I wasn't getting enough more battery (SoT) compared to MIUI (sometimes even less than MIUI) and thus I switched back even though I'm not a big fan of MIUI.
I flashed MIUI EU beta (for notifications) and debloated a little and everything was working very well until this started happening.
There haven't been any "crashes" since 2 days , maybe it got fixed. Fingers crossed ?
Edit: Just had the "crash".

Mokee Rom - Discussion

Since there is no official thread, we can discuss about it here. I flashed Mokee rom nightly and so far it feels good. Added 2 fingerprints and it works pretty good, better than Havoc and Pixel Rom. Also the phone doesnt reboot when connecting to PC with USB.
Anyone else using this Rom?

I am using it, works excellent, only two things missing are 4k recording (which is available on Beast rom) and dt2w which is broken on all custom ROMs. I would recommend it. I am using it with 9.7.10 vendor and firmware

You have test builds, and official ones. I didn't try latest ones, but for me mokee was more stable

Hey all. I flashed mokee just now. Everything works perfectly until I played multimedia. It won't let me play audio, video, YouTube, make calls or do video chat. I was using Eu rom 8.9.1 prior to flashing mokee. I wiped data, dalvic, and cache in twrp them flashed the rom. Did I miss any step?

You need 9.7.10 as base. Mokee and LOS is built and maintained by the same guy.

Does it have deep sleep problem if we use Fingerprint Lock. On RR rom if we enable FP lock than the device doesn't wakes and we have to restart manually via hardkeys

Until my last try 0806 build, the issue was still there.
This ROM is the only one AOSP based and without deep issue.
