Will the Qualcomm 855 SoC-powered Xiaomi Mi 9 support all these HDR formats?
If it’s the case, the Mi 9 will be the world's 1st smartphone supporting all current commercially available HDR formats.

If it's true for the Snapdragon 855 generally, i think yes.

Samsung apparently reduces the HDR compatibility of the Galaxy S10 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC compatible with HDR10+ / HDR10 / HLG / Dolby Vision and its homegrown Exynos 9820 SoC to the lowest common denominator: HDR10+ / HDR10.

I believe it comes down to OEM's themselves, the Snapdragon 845 supported up to 4K @ 60FPS yet most devices where limited to 4K @ 30FPS, in fact I'm sure the Mi 8 launched with 4K @ 30FPS but was then later updated

netflix said the s10 series was certified for HDR for their premium monthly level. I guess it's all down to what netflix allows? who else has streaming hdr? netflix?

I don't understand your question

my first concern is the square where we can read "up to 20MP dual cameras" then how are Xiaomi pulling this 48/16/12 MP Triple camera to work with it ?

Thanks. I might be going about this the wrong way.
I just noticed that Win8 has a Windows Phone app. I suppose that it adds support for transfers and conversions. Not sure because I don't have my Lumia 920 yet.

Camera Issue :(

Heyy guys, Today I'm gonna post about a dissapointing fact about my S9+. Post could be little long, I'm kind of hoping for your patience!! Thanks In Advance.
.
I have been buying mid-budget phones giving camera the priority. After Nokia X2-00, Sony Ericsson K790, Walton Primo ZX3, Mi 8 SE, Now I have switched to S9+ (Snapdragon)
.
My expression on the stock camera of S9+ is somewhat between to to ☹
Let me clarify, The default camera; on enough lighting; takes decent photos, not gonna lie. and thanks to large f1.5 aperture, low light captures are pretty good too! Then why the frown face?
.
It's about the Raws I capture! As a smartphone camera enthusiast, I always try to capture raw files and edit it in Lightroom for better processing. The screenshots attached in this post, the red-rectengular-marked options is from MI 8 SE of a third party app, the clean screenshots are of S9+
.
Let me explain what is happening here. In my rooted Mi 8 SE, i have enabled full camer2api support and used a third party app to capture Raws. That app has expanded the options extensively and given me the full control of options, like ISO(50-6400 fractioned); Shutter(1/50000 to 35s) and so on with capability of capturing raws(dng) somewhat like a DSLR

}
.
But even though camera compatibility shows an enabled camera2api defaultly, My S9+ is unable to provide manual options in third party apps. I can't even control the ISO or Shutter speed, let alone capturing Raws using third party apps
. And that's where is my disappointment.
.
There's is a Raw option in Pro mode in S9+ I know but that really SUCKS, yeah, SUCKS compared to Raw I have captured by Mi 8 SE using Open Camera app, that's so true. Only ISO between 50-800 and shutter speed between 1/10000 to 10s is not enough from me
.
So my question is, Is this possible that these third party apps can't give me full supports because they can't get the root access? I'm gonna root my S9+ (snapdragon), but before this I just wanna know if this works. So have anyone rooted your snapdragon version S9+?
.
Thanks again for your patience. There's Gcam for Raw capturing but Gcam doesn't give me as much flexibility as Open Camera app does!
Have a nice dayy, guys.

Video quality/compression problems

I was testing Mi A3s ability to shoot video in low light. It appears that it cannot properly handle the recording as it compressed it to oblivion. Screen from the video:

I also tried shooting in "Short Video" mode from the stock Camera. Surprisingly, it doesn't have the same problem. Screen:
Does somebody know how to fix the default mode?

Mi A3 is a budget phone, low light video shooting quality is obviously a no-go... What kind of crazy low-light video quality would you even expect at this price range... For the price, I am not going to complain for poor low-light video quality...

Maybe I phrased that incorrectly. Both of the screenshoots come from Mi A3. It appears that in low light conditions it's "short video" mode comes out way better than normal video recording. Was just wondering if I can somehow get my normal videos to look like the ones from that "short video" mode.
Looking at codec details for both short and regular video, I am not sure how "short video" mode can capture better. It uses significantly less bitrate (8mbps at 720p) compared to regular video (40mbps at 4K)

Question Does it support Hi-Res LDAC, Lossless  Music ?

I am having Oppo Enco M31 and it supports LDAC Hi-Res and an  music subscription plan. How to enable it on 11 Lite NE 5G?
The non NE edition does have it. AptX, aptxHD, LDAC. All the good codecs are supported in the phone. But I think the NE also should have it. What does it say when you're connected to it?

If it doesn't say LDAC where mine says apt x, I think you can force LDAC from the developers options.
it works on the lite 5g (renoir) but it should also work on the lite 5g ne (lisa)
and aptx HD is supported too
i couldnt test AAC because somehow it either goes for LDAC or aptx HD
