eXtremeKernel for MI 9 maybe Soon! Need Testers! - Xiaomi Mi 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

HI Guys!
Lemme Introduce First
I'm the AlekDev-the Lead Developer & Project Head of eXtremeKernel
I have Plans to Make the eXtreme Kernel for the MI 9!
As Start i compiled Experimental ZIp with Test GPU OC (645 Mhz) will be interesting someone to test and tell me does will boot atleast and does GPU OC works since i don't have MI 9 in my hands. (but we need to wait first for TWRP )
At the Moment We Need Someone to build TWRP so you can flash the zip but before take a backup of your current boot image.
Let's Unleash the Beast
For Any News and Test Builds you can join in my Telegram Development Group for MI 9

Cyanogenmod ROM mipad 2

Does anyone know if a cyanogenmod rom for mipad 2 is available?

Dear Developers and Hackers of XDA,
I just bought this tablet. I looked around on the MIUI forum for MI Pad 2 and see that there are ways to root a developer MIUI ROM for this tablet. I also see that there are also instructions to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery. I am big fan of Cyanogemod and am hoping to have it on the tablet. Has anybody tried and/succeeded to port Cyanogenmod to this tablet?
Hoping for the best
Sincerely
dspati
Hi dEvasEnApati I'm in your situation! I hope to recive news as soon as possible because i want to install cyano!
Xda dev have you got some news?
Hi,
Following the instructions from the miui forum I managed to unlock the bootloader, root , install TWRP and AOSP rom. I was wondering what are the requirements to have a cyanogen mod for it? Are there CMs for devices with intel x86_64 hardware?
I'll get my mipad 2 soon! I think in a week or two then I'll Start heavy development on it ? i think of aosp is possible cm will be possible too :] I'll keep u guys updated
Hi Nailyouh,
Thank you very much for doing this!
Maybe this may help: As paul_ro21 mentioned, a working AOSP rom, which was most probably developed by Xiaomi is available on the miui forums. I have it on my mi pad 2 as well and it's working fine. I am looking forward to a CM rom for this tablet and I will be happy to help with testing!
Sincerely
dspati

Waiting for your work on CM
Im too tired with stupid MIUI on this awesome tablet :
Stupid ram management, it has 2gb ram but it cannot run multi-tasking !
Im facing a big Problem i was not aware about..the Kernel of the MiPad2 is not open source so we are pretty f**ed by xiaomi. In fact the Kernel source has to be released but xiaomi don't care about Copyright infringements. I regret the decision buying this Tab. I like the Dualboot thingy and the aosp Rom runs smooth as butter but without the source we'll stuck on 5.1.1. really sad if you ask me, the Tablet is really beautyful and I love the outstanding Display. I'll try to figure around with the kernel from the aosp Rom next week I'll keep u informend and will make a thread if I suceed.
Cheers

Kernel source is now out on github. Any thoughts about it?

How soon can we expect an Android 6.x or an 7.x rom for Xiaomi Mi Pad 1?

As of 10th November 2016, Xiaomi has released the kernel sources for Xiaomi Mi Pad 1 to the masses. How soon can we expect someone to pick this device up and give us some sweet custom ROMs for the device?
I would really like to see ROM devs like Official CM team or Official Mokee team or other teams like them to pick this device up and free use from the bonds of Kitkat oppression.
I also wouldn't mind seeing a functional build of MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0.1 for Mi Pad 1.
I'll start to work on it pretty soon but I will need time since this is my first rom developpement, if anyone wants to join :

The Nexus 9 has 64 bit K1 dual core 'denver' processor
Mipad has 32 bit quad core k1 processor
Nvidia Shield has a variant with 32 bit quad core k1 processor as well.
Would it be easier for you if you use the shield's device tree instead ?
Sure, didnt notice that.. Anyway i dont have much time now and if im alone i dont know if its ever gonna happend but if i keep everything in a clean way then its easy for more people to join. I'll change and anamyse device tree and see
Hello, please also take a look at the following GitHub repositories:
vartom/android_device_xiaomi_mocha
vartom/android_vendor_Xiaomi_mocha
There's a mostly working CM11 build from this developer, so I think these repos may be useful.

Oh! Nice man. Thanks in advance. By the way, What should we look forward to ? A Marshmallow build? Or A Nougat Build ? Or a KitKat Build ?
Whatever it is, best of luck man. We will be looking forward to your good work.Best wishes for your success. A lot of hope will be riding on you.
I don't have time now so I will see how we should proceed. The point would be to gather devs in a group or something

[GSI][64bit][A600X] 64bit Vendor for arm64 GSI

64 bit vendor for A6
The day is here... the day we never thought was ever going to be possible. Exynos 7870 is now running 64 bits. This magic was made possible by @Astrako
I hope everybody appreciates the dedication and the countless hours he must've gone through to get this to work.
Please don't take anything from this vendor set-up. I used took Astrako's vendor in H-ROM and adapted it to A6 with his permission. Don't try to claim it as your own.
Please give thanks to the original thread that made this possible: Click here and give thanks!
Also, A HUGE HUGE HUGE DISCLAIMER:
I do not own an A6. This vendor was originally made for the J6, but since they are somewhat similar it only needed a few file swaps to get most things to work. I only have 2 testers and we managed to fix most stuff. Flash under your own risk and expect bugs!
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. HARD!
Features!

Bugs!

FAQ
[Q] My phone is stuck in bootloop/infinite boot, what should I do?
[A] It is normal for first instalation to take aprox 10-20 minutes on first boot, let it sit for a little bit
[Q] Even after 20 minutes, my phone is still in a bootloop/infinite boot, what can I do?
[A] It is possible that your previoius Android setup is conflicting with this new setup. Please, do the following:
1. FORMAT DATA (not WIPE, FORMAT!)
2. Try the instalation of the GSI and make sure you follow the instructions correctly
[Q] I've found a bug, what should I do
[A] Due to the nature of GSI, I cannot fix bugs that may come from the ROM you are using

Doesn't work for A6+ it has different processor:crying:
Sorry guys, this is A6 Exynos 7870 only.
Exynos 7870 is shared between a lot of devices and it's very easy to port between them. Not to mention that there are a lot of devs that work on 7870.

hello, on the A600FN single sime phh v117, the network signal is gray, the 4g is working, I tried with varied gsi roms but still the same problem,
some ideas to solve?
with 32bit vendor I don't find the problem
thank you
ciao, the proximity sensor doesnt trigger touch when sensor is covered. In fact if you call someone, display go off, but touch still working, so you can use your phone even with screen off
the correction should be this:

redmi k20 pro ( Raphael/Raphaelin ) nethunter compatible kernal

We no longer have any custom kernel for redmi k20 pro ( Raphael/Raphaelin ) ,only advanced stock so im asking here:
If you are a dev and know how to compile a kernel - please try to make nethunter compatible kernal.
There must be someone with enough skill to add some features to kernel, mayby our redmi k20pro ( Raphael/Raphaelin) community could get together and add some bounty for that.
xiaomi released the sources already:
https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/raphael-p-oss
If you know how to compile but scared to test on your own phone, then im up for testing on my redmi k20 pro .

General Realme FINALLY released the Android 13 kernel and vendor sources :)

It appears so from the looks of it. Haven't had a chance to compile. Hopefully any devs can get us started with custom roms and recoveries.
Will anyone risk developing anything for this device with all the restrictions OPPO put in place for MSM flash tool?
Maybe we get some custom kernels for battery life improvement, I am hyped

Finally!
Hopefully someone can make the factory rom better. Would be nice if someone could remove the bloatware and remove the thermal throttling. Android 13 c.08 cant run wildlife stress test because the phone force closes it and givese warningw that its tok hot. Not to mention games like Apex and Genshin Impact are also loosing fps after a few minute due to throttling.

I have tried to compile the kernel but have come across an issue.
I have reported this to Realme github as an issue and hope they get back to us as soon as possible to resolve this.

Kernel source code failing to clean and compile · Issue #1 · realme-kernel-opensource/realme_gt2pro-AndroidT-kernel-source

I have partially resolved the issue by changing toolchains. I now receive the following error when compiling:

Anyone have any ideas?
Hi,
I have compiled the kernel, unsure if it boots ( I dont have time to test this yet ).
I have attached the kernel image (requires packing into a boot.img).
If testing, try fastboot boot boot.img. DO NOT FLASH THIS KERNEL!!!
Edit: Tested and its not working
