Dialer chinese version in global rom. - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone. I buy an honor 9 model AL00 with rebrand for L09 already bought this way. The bootloader is locked and has no other modifications. I have received updates normally and I am currently in STF-L09 8.0.0.385 (C432).
In the Chinese version there is a telephone call recorder directly on the dialer and in the global version this dialer is identical, however the recording icon leads to a calendar.
Is it possible to download the dialer from the Chinese ROM and install it on the global rom in a way that it replaces? How to do it because the dialer is an apk of the system. I do not care if it is possible through adb commands for example but my phone is not unlocked.
Thank you.

When rooted, there is magisk module for that.
Or simply copying the apk file to right place could work.
I don't know if this could be done via adb debug...

thanks for the collaboration but as my bootloader is blocked it is not possible to perform root and without root by normal methods it is not possible to install a system apk

I will try it very soon after unlocking the bootloader and instaling TWRP.
I can always get back to stock, right?(how to do so? will it work from the hisuite ?)
this is exactly what I need
thank you so much
just a question: this is a systemless root, right?
what's the difference between the 2 versions of TWRP?
Yes you can back to Stock.
Install B332 via Twrp and make the B350 ota again,or Backup your Stockrom in Trwp before flash this Rom!
Yes systemless root.
Twrp is newer and older version, the newer version can all Backup the older not

Hi letschky,
Just installed this and looking around, so far so good
Whatsapp and the ability to add user accounts both working (both important to me).
I'll play around for a few days and report any bugs/issues if I find any.
Also no need to apologize for your bad English........ It's a hell of a lot better than my Austrian/German
Danke schoen mein freund.

Hi! For me your rom is a good rom! only please, its possible to reinsert a logo 3g 4g H+....? and...I forgot a question: i have uninstalled Yellow pages, the yellow pages are all in Chinese language and are useless. and i have uninstalled huawei home launcher because it's very invasive and i have installed nova launcher, the best for me. after this modify, for me this device is perfect, stable and very fast! excuse me for bad english but I don't know this language. I studied English twenty years ago for only 3 years at school .... help meeee
Nice ROM! But there are no Google apps installed. Also whatsapp notifications don't work. When i open Whatsapp i only get all the messagers. Did I do something wrong? On the first boot i had a screen with Chinese and the word GOOGLE in the middle.
I did have it freeze on me a couple of times and refuse to open a couple of games (Boom Beach and Clash of Clans).
I did a full factory reset on Sunday evening and have not as yet had any other problems, Whatsapp is working fine for me, also 3 different google accounts running fine on my phone too :good:
I also can't not open tradetracker, zanox and partners.webmasterplan links. Everytime i get error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Oké i installed the rom again and now all the Google apps are installed. I think something went wrong on the first install. I'm going to test Whatsapp notifications now.
I still have problems with tradetracker, zanox, webmasterplan and linksynergy links. Everytime i get this error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on every browser (chrome, firefox ect.). Anyone know how to fix this? Because i use this for my work
I have the same problem ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Why? Whithout this problema rom is perfetto.

The problem was the hosts file in system/ect. I used the app Adaway and downloaded the latest hosts file. The problem is gone now
Whatsapp notifications also work now, no need to freeze phone manager anymore. Nice rom letschky!

Hi, could you briefly outline how you rebranded your device?
I assume you unlocked the boot loader via the Huawei form page, installed TWRP, and simply flashed system.img from ANE-L21? Any other steps? Thanks!

So, to clarify:
1. Auto-rotate doesn't work in China Version.
2. Auto-rotate works in European Version.
Right?

Options 1:
unlocked bootloader.... (there was no possibility to do it with Huawei webpage anymore so.. i have to pay to DC-unlock ) but it worked !!
installed TWRP and flashed system.img on system image partion.. (not system...it was system image). After reboot it was showing my model as ANE-AL00 only but, there was nothing Chinese. The firmware was complete of international unlocked version.
Option 2:
There is one more way now.. using TWRP only you can use this tool .. https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
Follow the step on the page and you will have the ANE_AL00 working as ANE-LX1 (remember your phone will still show you ANE-AL00 because we are not rebranding it.. just flashing another firmware which is more user friendly with all google stuff out of the box)
Option 3:
Another way is to search a patch for google framework for chinese phones .. you may have to download .apk on phone or on pc and after flashing that you will have google paystore on your device and you can install all google stuff post that.. (it seems the most safest way so far as you dont have to root, unlock bootloader or temper your device anyway and install all google apps.. )
To get rid of Chinese apps or bloatwares you can use adb ..
steps:
1. connect device, make sure ADB is working (check with CMD "adb devices")
2. go to shell, using CMD "adb shell"
3. get list of install packages using CMD "pm list packages" (use google to find out what does each package name means).
4. remove package using CMD "pm uninstall -k --user 0 $packagname" (e.g. pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.inputdevices)
5. if correctly typed, you receive message "SUCCESS"
if step 3 is not user friendly for you. ... head on to paystore and install an app named "app inspector".
go to apps tab in the app and you will see all the istalled apps on your device. click the app you want to remove and see the name of the app on the top..
the name will start with "com.xxxxxxxxxxx". it will remove the app permanently.
I hope the tips will be helpful for all those bought the Chinese version like me and were wondering seeing the Chinese stuff all around the phone.
Please do not forget to hit thanks if it helps you anyway..

Hi, did you find anyway to make the screen autorotate..
before flashing the ANE-L21 rom my auto rotate used to work in my ANE-AL00.
The mistake I did was, along with the update.zip i also flashed xxx_hw.zip file in twrp.
First time with only system.img, everything was working well without any issue. Now also the phone works well but, without screen auto rotate.
Can someone link or upload the xxx_hw.zip file for ANE-AL00 ? I am sure that shall solve the problem.
Thanks.

[Question] How to do an Full Ota without loosing bootloader unlock?

Heeyy guys,
I have a question.
First time using huawei devices and can say that it's quite a hassle. Did brick my phone already once and afraid to do it again.
I got the update notification for the 8.0.0.142 firmware but I have twrp installed so I can't update though the Ota.
I want to do an clean install with the latest update but I'm reading that the bootloader can go locked again. Now with Huawei not providing a bootloader unlock I find it a bit tricky because I really need Magisk.
My question is.
Will someone be so kind as to help me out?
Info:
Huewei Mate 10 Pro
BLA-L29 8.0.0.137 (C432) (Current version)
TWRP Recovery installed.

If you have unlocked previously, I don't see your problem do full update and then unlock again your bootloader unlock code won't have changed from last time.

I've yet to come across any fw that lock again on Oreo. On Nougat this was standard.
And I have b142 installed and it didn't lock
You can however, if you don't want to flash back stock recovery, flash using HuRUpdater using TWRP.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
I've tested it and it works if you're using TWRP by pretoriano80, as it has some stuff needed that "official" TWRP by dees_troy doesn't have.
You can find it here if you don't have it already: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/huawei-mate-10-pro-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769904
Edit: As for update files; you can either use Firmware Finder app to download them to phone, then rename them to what the thread says (update_data_full_public.zip to update_data_public.zip and hw zip to update_all_hw.zip). Or you can use the site http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/
There you just search for the update, BLA-L29C432, then click on the File list link in the FullOTA row. Copy paste links there into a new tab and download, then rename files and transfer to phone.
To get TWRP to stick, place the TWRP image in the same folder as you have HuRupdater.zip script and rename it to recovery.img, then it will flash it back after it has done update.

No need to unroot. You will, however, need to flash Magisk again after update as ramdisk is replaced with stock one.

Thanks. Please let me know if these steps should work. I am currently NOT rooted and my bootloader is locked. I do have my bootloader code. I'm currently rebranded to USA BLA-A09 (C567) from using funkyhuawei. Originally my phone is Europe BLA-L29 (C432)
Step 1. If I use funkyhuawei (I have that unlimited account for this phone) and rebrand from USA BLA-A09 (C567) back to my original BLA-L29 (C432) and then get the OTA to the latest build .142 everyone is raving about. That is simple part. USA brand is very far behind all other countries with updates....
Step 2. Do I use DCunlocker to unlock bootloader or is it just a command in fastboot mode that I issue?
Step 3. Root the phone (what tool should I use) as I need to modify the build.prop file to allow for VoLTE to work on T-MOBILE in the USA. I found this guide for volte to work -- it seems there are instructions to root in this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/guide-enable-volte-icon-mobile-network-t3764826
Then can I unroot the phone and if I do so, will my modifications to the build.prop file remain? Or do I need to keep it rooted?
Lastly, will the phone pass safetynet if bootloader unlocked and the phone is rooted?
Appreciate any assistance and guidance and thank you.

1. Yes, that is fine.
2. Huawei stated they will close down the service, but I *think* it's the service to get the unlock code, not the ability to unlock the bootloader. This may change in future updates, but until then you can just unlock using 'fastboot oem unlock code_here' command (This wipes /data so make sure to backup stuff)
3. Basically you just flash TWRP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/huawei-mate-10-pro-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769904), then flash Magisk (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589). The current beta of Magisk is a little buggy so you can just flash the stable one (16.0). Buggy being that Magisk Manager closes down when you open it, it can be countered by clearing data of Magisk Manager through Settings -> Apps.
Magisk will pass SafetyNet in most cases. Some builds are not yet certified by Google so they won't pass (b142 passes fine), it usually takes 1-2 weeks after they release on http://pro-teammt.ru before they pass.
If you want to unroot you can use Magisk Uninstaller, it's available in the release thread.
And if you want stock recovery you can just flash back stock from fastboot after you've installed Magisk.
Though there's no need to unroot since SafetyNet will pass. And if you only want to replace build.prop you could do it from TWRP. Bootloader needs to stay unlocked though, and I'm not sure if Safetynet passes with a modified build.prop (but it should I guess).
And! Magisk supports modules, so you could just make one that enables VoLTE (by passing the prop using 'resetprop') without needing to modify build.prop at all.

how to update the path for x6
Hello,
*#*#227#*#* works well.
*#*#874#*#* has no response at all. Is root or bootloader required to do that?
I just realize the X6 I bought from ebay is global firmware version, which does not support OTA. Use OTA to update to latest firmware is a key feature I am looking for. I do not care it is China version or Global version.
Do you have any suggestion that what should be the easiest way? Hopefully no bootloader required. Thanks!
google play pretent CN OTA?
Boss,
After discuss with many other user, we think it is because I am using China version rom, but installed Google play, which pretent OTA update.
Do you think so? Could you give us a solution?
I bought the phone from ebay. I just need OTA.

thanks for sharing, i just installed the pie version on my nokia 6.1 plus
Hey I just installed the pie version on my Nokia 6.1 plus (TA-1083).
Will the installation void my warranty?
My camera app is crashing like crazy... Is anyone else experiencing this?

No, it will not destroy the warranty at all. As for the camera app, go to the app's settings and try wiping its data completely. Then reboot your phone and try again.

Well, that didn't do the trick, but I just simply clicked 'disable' after wiping the data and it gave me a message of "uninstalling app and installing factory camera app" which worked beautifully.
Now everything's working fine.
1. *#*#874#*#* is this make my phone rooted ?

"Would you like to install the following system software?
System upgrade to 330B.B01
You will be unable to use your device or make emergency calls during the upgrade.
It will lead to unexpected result if you cut off power or remove downloaded file while updating software.
There is small possibility of erasing user data caused by upgrade purpose. If need, please backup your data before installing system upgrade.
The normal update can not be guaranteed after the device is rooted. If root contributes to abnormal use on the device in update process, the user should be responsible for it oneself"

How To Guide Update to A13 C08 from any export version device (Root Only)

I write this post since I've seen a lot of people is asking how to upgrade their devices to android 13. If you don't want to wait here, you have a way.
The only official version available so far is for Indian region which has a nv_id = 00011011, since this is the only checkmark software update uses to validate
OTA local install we just need to change the value of this prop. We can so this way:
1. First delete all your modules and keep installed only MagiskHidePropsConf
2. Using a terminal emulator like termux type su and click enter, then type props ro.build.oplus_nv_id 00011011 click enter and follow the short procedure until reboot
3. After reboot you can download the full OTA: https://gauss-componentotacostmanua...22/10/24/4ccc3d3cb837437ea787baaac853fc4d.zip and perform a local installation without getting the verificacation faild message (keep installed the module magiskhide during all the upgrade process)
Note: This will change your region after the update, if you want to keep your device rooted and don't know how to, you can look in other threads of this forums.
If you don't want to change your region, I posted the URLs for other regions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/global-eu-collection-of-firmware-files.4478153/post-87640469
Use this method to downgrade from A13 RU to A12 India roll back package.
Will it work for switching from RMX3300 to RMX 3301 also?
I am on china A13 official with locked bootloader, is there any way to go to India version? I'm trying to find a roolback for China A12 but couldn't find it

You can change region. but not from RMX 3300 to 3301 i.e. china to export. Other region interchange work fine. Use full ota only

There is none for now. Only MSM download tool can get you back to A12 where you unlock boot loader and change region. With MSM tool, you can directly flash root export Rom as well.
Dont try to roll back from A13 to A12 through fastboot. Mine got bricked

I found out a way of doing it and made a Guide here for anyone interested:
