This is CarbonROM for the Poco F1. For those that follow us, you would know that we have been working since the hour the first Android 9.0 repositories dropped. The CarbonROM developers have been working on getting private builds up to our release standards - I am specifically working on feature bring up and creation. Like all ROMs, flash at your own risk.

Thanks for hopping on so quick. Some key things for you guys to keep in mind: let me know if performance is noticeably different from other ROMs. We have included some precompiled bits that improve some specific benchmarks and we're looking to see if that translates to real-world performance.

Amazing! Will test it this weekend!

Okay short report: ROM is blasing fast and snappy. Has most needed modifications ( system dark mode, disable notch aso.... This is my dd for the next weeks!
Thanks Dev and Carbon Team for your hard work.

Booted twrp (official)
Formatted data
Wiped everything
Flashed vendor/firmware 9.2.25
Flashed carbon
Flashed gapps nano
Wiped cache/data
Rebooted

Did it again but this time with gapps and dfe and it booted.
So does it REQUIRE dfe?

Clean flash as described above (with dfe to get it to boot!)
Antutu 207999

In contrast - clean flash of pe caf
Antutu 242399
Geekbench 2417 single core / 8712 multi-core
Usual caveats about synthetic benchmarks apply but it seems to me that if specific tweaks were applied to carbon to improve benchmarks they don't seem to be improving matters in these cases...

i think if you are decrypted & you flashed a newer vendor then you need dfe.. to keep your decryption state.

So the ROM in one word is amazing.
As for antutu, I attached a screenshot. I only installed the app and ran it, don't have any apps installed aside it, I do not know much about this benchmark nor it matters to me. But did it anyways.
This lower score could be because thermal profiles are not included? I think those would help tremendously with the score.
As for normal usage (didn't try games), everything is fluid and fast, no hiccups anywhere, definitely a solid daily driver for those who are looking to try it.
------------------
As the ROM is in a great condition from first build, there isnt any major bugs I found, but for really tiny ones, which most people won't care about but will state anyways:
1. Can the gap between clock and notification icons be smaller so 2 icons would show when there is 2 notification icons?
2. When right side of status bar is filled, icons gets pushed to out-of-sceeen to the right side instead of just just a dot, idk if this is intended to be have that way or not.
3. Swiping up the pulldown slowly while looking on left side, animation of notification icons isn't correctly working
4. Quick settings toggles in notification view aren't spread out equally, probably has to do with content padding.
Thank you,
Edit: seems like IR camera doesn't work.

No - clean flashes each time.
Format data and wipe everything.
I couldn't get carbon to boot without flashing dfe.
Edit: yes I know how dfe works and when it's needed but in this case I was delibertely doing clean flashes for testing.
Not sure why my antutu was so much lower than the poster above.

you said before if u r encrypted , u don't need dfe
but decrypted with a new vendor .. u need dfe
so, this rom forces encryption even if you r encrypted?

You're confusing me.
I tried to clean flash carbon and it would not boot.
I did a new clean flash but this time flashed dfe at the end and it booted.
So in my case I could not get carbon to boot WITHOUT flashing dfe.

I think if you previously flashed vendor 9.2.25 which is the latest with the carbon rom it could be possible that your data gets "encrypted", this is the only logical explanation on why you had to flash DFE with your clean flash process.

Again this is not making sense to me.
Each time I installed I formatted data, wiped everyting, flashed the vendor/firmware and ROM etc.
I was not carrying data over from one installation to another so what you're talking about seems irrelevant here.
Anyway dfe does not decrypt - it just prevents vendor/firmware from encrypting if not already encrypted.
I think you're confused about how some of this stuff works to be honest....
Your only reason for flashing dfe above is not correct.
I had to flash dfe to get carbon to boot which seems to imply that carbon cannot with the vendor/firmware encryption process or an encrypted phone.
Pkease read my posts carefully.
I was starting totally afresh when testing carbon and pe caf here.

what is irrelevant here my friend? you are aware that Disable Force Encryption stats the matter by the name here, you clean flashed the ROM, and you had a bootloop, am not sure even if you have removed all the locks before booting to TWRP nor sure about of you even have your data decrypted to begin with, the fact that you had to flash DFE to sort the bootloop also explains it, wanna make sure go ahead and clean flash the same ROM but this time around without flashing DFE.

Edit: some ROMS here require a specific vendor firmware version to operate and functions as it should, try CRdroid and you will face the same obstacle on 9.2.25 version.

antutu score 242687 , clean flash.
In my opinion this rom is faster than PE CAF rom.It is simply instantaneous.
Dirac sound is a very important extra to me.
As of bugs : in the about menu on the sim card tab there are no info available on signal strenght and all other boxes.
As a small request if it is possible to add display profiles from LOS 16.
Amaizing work on this one.

You are talking about being decrypted and needing to flash dfe after vendor/firmware to stay decrypted.
This is irrelevant because I was starting from a clean base/fresh setup each time.

All it explains is that the ROM does not boot if vendor/firmware is not patched with dfe.

The requirements in the OP are 9.2.11 (which I don't know even exists) OR LATER.
9.2.25 is later obviously.

Hey, as long as you follow our flash guide, there won't be a bootloop.
How you get the v2.6.2? We don't release the international version of v2.6.2.
Please make the ROM to be TWRP flash compatible. Including OTA. This way it is easy to make nandroid backups of other Roms and encourage people to try Smartisan.
And of course the obvious next question. Any idea when we can see Marshmallow based Smartisan for OPO?
Thanks for all the support. Makes me happy to own and use OPO with all the many official ROM support

volte problem fix

This thread is for those people who are commenting in many rom threads i.e. volte is not working ...
So here is a fix for this
Steps
-take backup of all your important data
-flash fastboot rom of any miui version
-after that if any update available install that update
-use miui rom for day (optional)
-after that flash any rom but remember before first flashing wipe internal tooo...
I was facing the same problem but after following these steps
I'm getting volte in all roms which supports it....
Hit thanks button if it helps :victory:
We all know that lol? we want a patch as some has problems to flash fastboot ROM and I done it but after flashing magisk V16.0 voLTE gone again now waiting for nurujjamans patch

Followed all flashing step e.g. wiping system, data, cache, dalvik cache ; flashing gapps before rom or after rom. Cross verified apn, phone & many other settings as well, but hard luck didn't got VOLTE as many other users are getting VOLTE support on all of these roms. What is your process clean installation in treble roms?
change name apn to internet
I'm on resurrection remix rom right now so i can't guarantee about other roms but this method works on this rom. All you have to do is do not add secure boot while setting up your device for the first time. It encrypts your device. If you already did it than you have to first install miui rom than install custom rom. To know about the detailed process head over to official resurrection remix thread page 98.

I did try the patch but afterwards the SIM wasn't getting detected at all.
Anyways I am currently on Treble LOS 15.1 but VoLTE still doesn't work. Flashing latest MODEM firmware, tweaking APN didn't help either. Will flashing MIUI fastboot ROM cause any issue because of changes to partition due to Treble?

It went just fine. And the bootloader wasn't even relocked. I haven't installed a Custom ROM yet as I have read of some folks complaining about VoLTE not work while roaming and its my father's device. Thanks for the concise guide.

Notice
THIS IS NOT A GSI
- This a flashable zip that must be flashed in TWRP
- GAPPS are not included and must be flashed separately
- This is for the Honor View 10 only
- This has been tested on L04 but should work fine with L09
What's working?
Camera
Video Recording
Calls/Sms
Data
Fingerprint Sensor
Audio/Video Playback
What's not working?
VoLTE
Are fingerprint gestures/navigation available?
Yes, simply disable the navigation bar in Settings > System > Buttons and you will be in fingerprint navigation mode.
You can also change the gesture triggers in Settings > System > Gestures
VoLTE supported?
No, and won't be for awhile. Huawei uses a different setup for IMS and it's closed sourced.
Can't flash on my Mate 9/10/11/X/18/55
This isn't a system image and is only meant for the Honor View 10. If you want to install a rom on your non-berkeley device
then search a forum that pertains to your device.
Why no GSI?
Ota packages are easier to manage and develop for across models. Plus, spamming a View 10 development thread with bugs on a non View 10 does not
help further development

o/t but kind of related as I'm anxious to give this a try myself. What partitions do you backup and have you had a successful restore yet from a nandroid backup?
I had so many problems with this phone initially - had to do a funky huawei restore twice - that I'm scared to try things I wouldn't have thought twice about on my old phone.

Thank you very much. Out of curiosity, do you not backup data because it doesn't work or you just choose not to?

Precisely, I had searched and tested, but the last time I looked it didn't work for android 8.1 roms.
That's why I'm asking.

You can't flash roms in stock recovery. You need to use TWRP.
Here's what I do wen I flash a rom in TWRP
#1 Nandroid Backup system, vendor, kernel, ramdisk
#2 Wipe System, Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik
#3 Flash the Zip from External SD
#4 Wipe Cache & Dalvik again
#5 Reboot
If you are data encrypted, you will most likely boot direct into eRecovery with the notice that Data is corrupt and you need to wipe... so do it.

Also note mate.. OP states "must be flashed in TWRP"
It also states that is was only tested on the L04... now, this makes it very very difficult for any "cross" development to happen when the developer has one device, and you flash on another.
http://prntscr.com/j8yvaj
I hate to say it, but if anyone flashes something that was only tested on one device, to a different device may be on their own...
This uses the same tree as the one used in the LineageOS build. The only commits besides those are my own for themes and FP navigation. So theoretically, this should work fine on L09 as Luk builds for L09 and his trees support both.
TWRP, I don't know too much regarding L09 but I use the twrp 0.7 build and everything works fine for me. You need to wipe cache, data, system before flashing this.
I just cleaned cache, data and system from twrp 0.7 and got the same issue:. I have a L09 and not a L04
I'll make another build soon
Thanks man! Do you have in your plans to have Huawei's camera built in your rom?

OPENKIRIN Honor 7x official roms

As some of you might know, open kirin's team has posted on their site many treble roms compatible with the honor 7x. They are all available on this website:
https://openkirin.net/download/
So I thought this thread could allow everyone to say which rom is best for him
Looks good ...
I am waiting for Lineage to come out of Beta
Has anyone tried both the phhusson and OpenKirin versions of Lineage?
I'm currently running Lineage v4 from phhusson's Treble-experimentations github, but I'm curious if anyone has tried both and can compare?
I'm runing phhusson's lineageos , will try this version.
I feel like this is the wrong place to post something like this, @OldDroid and other developers will do so here at their leisure...

I have tried, OpenKirin's LOS is by far superior.
It passes SafetyNet and is much more stable and optimized for Huawei devices.
I am currently testing RRos 6.0.0 which has been posted on XDA, but I plan to install Lineage OS beta 4, Can I flash it over the other rom without having to do a complete wipe? Does anyone know if gapps are included in the rom?

I want to know if i can install these roms on emui 5.1. I read in support it requires emui 8?
And please provide a good rom to upgrade to,from emui 5.1 if i can't install openkirin roms. Thanks
I flashed lineageos beta4 with fastboot , complete wipe and alwayes display "Just a sec... ", so i flashed phhusson's version and display " com.android.phone has stopped" :crying:

The Reason openkirin works on EMUI 8 is treble support which EMUI 5.1 doesn't have. Update your phone EMUI 8 then you can try any treble rom rom like openkirin, pH treble.

Clean flash it. Wipe cache + format it
Running the LOS beta4 build now, and its looking really good...
It took me a few tries to get a stable install. First couple of installs I was getting a ton of force-close on various apps. I'm wondering if it might have been due to me trying to use the Lineage SU addon, instead of magisk? I think I tried to install via TWRP once or twice, too, rather than through fastboot.
As of this moment, Ive got it running with the OpenKirin build of TWRP, and magisk 16.4 and it even seems to pass SafetyNet check!
Final good install steps were:
- boot into TWRP, do advanced wipe of all but SD card, then format (the "yes" option one)
- install the LOSbeta4 to system from fastboot ( fastboot flash system openkirin_los_beta4.img )
- boot OS and do basic android config
- reboot into TWRP, install magisk 16.4, clear davlik/cache, reboot to OS
- install magiskmanager 5.7
- ???
- profit
Thanks again for the heads-up on these builds...

This ROM has been discontinued, thank you for your support and thanks to the community for donating me this device for development purposes. After close to a year it has been a fun ride!
Great Rom, I'm one of the testers, I have the XT1925-3 everything works very well. Just Remember to use TWRP X64.
Does seem to be working. Congrats on getting a 64-bit rom working on this phone!
I did see some weirdness where the phone didn't think it was connected to WiFi during the google setup, even though it was. Didn't seem to really hurt anything though (it immediately connected and continued on).
I did manage to get magisk working. I wasn't entirely sure which version you were recommending or where to download a build from, so I just pulled it and built it myself. That forced an update on first use anyway.
Finally there was someone willing and able to let our Motorola G6 run 64-bit operating systems, congratulations on your beautiful work, I've been using the rom for a few days and it's very stable! Your work was our salvation, thank you!
Thanks for the first 64-bit custom ROM. I have a question, does NFC work? Because I have moto g6 XT1925-5 and has an NFC module.

Wow amazing! Thanks you.
OMG! I cant belive that we have an 64 bits rom. Thats sounds amazing!
i'm downloading right now.
I do have some questions, too
First: i'm using stock pie pps29.55-37-7 on xt1925-3 with magisk, boot.img signed and TWRP 32 bits.
To begin, i need update my twrp to 64 bits right? Then, after updated, i can flash this rom directly or i have to wipe system before flash this rom?
2nd: after 1st, i have to flash gapps then magisk?
i'm really sorry for newbie questions, but i lost 4 days months ago to get this rom rooted... is such a pain that motorola doesnt make an easy update like one plus or maybe samsung to get root etc.
oh, just an last question: can i use titanium backup and restore my actual apps in this rom? because since its an 64 bits system, i dont know if i could use to restore 32 bits apps.
thanks in advance!!

You only need to wipe data, because it is encrypted. Do it by fastboot erase userdata.
I think data backup made with 32 bits will not work. Not sure
