Fat thumbs problem with all Android keyboards. Help? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I have had a problem for years, so I thought I would finally share my shame and seek help. With every Android keyboard I have tried, if my thumb touches the strip between the bottom of the keyboard and the edge of the screen, it kicks me out of the keyboard. Not a problem except that it happens to me all the time.
Why on earth would people not make the keyboard extend all the way to the bottom of the screen? Not like that space has any use.
Anyway, does anyone know of a keyboard that does not have that strip or an application that could turn off the touch sensitivity of that are? If I could permanently turn off touch sensitivity to the bottom 1 or 2 mm of my screen that would be great. I never need it there.
I know that the logical answer would be to learn to type on my phone, but I am 54, and, to paraphrase Barbie, Android is hard.
Thanks.

[Q] Directional Keys on USB Keyboard

I have asked this question over on Archosfans.com too but have not received an answer. I have an archos 101 and use an apple keyboard. Ever since 2.2 the directional keys are not working right. If I push down it goes right and if I push up it goes left. And the right and left keys are also backwards. I am just trying to figure out if this is everyone elses experience.
Now the silly part is that if I turn the screen to vertical then it is right. I am trying to figure out if reinstalling the aos will help resolve this issue.
Is this unique?
this happens on my 70 with my bluetooth keyboard
even under 2.1, the direction keys were off. they seemed to be oriented then to the archos name. When tablet was horizontal, regular it worked, when it was upside down (better viewing angle for some things) they were backward. maybe the switch is set based on vertical now.
I have noticed that some web pages work better in portrait, too. My gmail through web wont scroll in landscape, fine in portrait. Cool that google docs works in browser, though.
use a mifi !

[Q] Anyone ever get ghost hits on the screen?

***Nevermind This post. I figured out why this is happening. It was becuase 'use vertical swip to change to symbols' was ticked and apparently just a micron swipe is trigging this on my phone, i type too fast for this option, Turning it off has seemed to fix my problem.****
This is a wierd topic i'm sure, I'm wondering if anyone else ever gets ghost hits on their screen when typing with the on screen keyboard.
I use the regular built in keyboard, no custom rom, no root, nothing, and it seems like 1 out of every 3 or 4 messages i'm typing my keyboard will randomly switch to the symbols, its annoying as hell and I cant figure it out.
You might think "He's probably hitting the key while typing" but its in the lower left corner, and sometimes it will happen when my left hand isn't even typing, i'll be going to hit the I key with my right thumb and BAM i'm in symbols now... I dont know if its exactly the same key every time I cant seem to quite reproduce the problem, it just randomly happens and its irritating.
I'm wondering if there could be some kind of link to the screen protector causing this or not? It's a clearvue screen protector.. I've also noticed when playing around with the screen, that sometimes I can get my fingre sooo close that it actually detects a response, and my finger hasn't even touched the screen yet! IS there some sensitivity thing i can adjust or something? cuz i dont know whats up with this wierdness...
Anyone else?

Keyboard keys on edge not responding

So, I don't know if this is just me but I am having an issue where the keyboard keys 'p' and 'q' are hard to register my touches. I think it has to do with the edge of the screen not having the digitizer wrap with screen.
I've tried to find a keyboard that allows me to change the spacing of the keys to pull the top row in a bit, but nothing is coming up. Anyone else having this issue or know of a way to fix this? Its not a deal breaker but it does cause a problem every now and again.
70 views and not a single reply? Its driving me CRAZY, i keep having to hit the letters P and Q multiple times when typing.
on mine all is OK...just have to tip once..tried multiple times..

How can I disable touch input.

I have a tablet called etab5, the tablet has its own pen and uses the same technology as Spen. I've felt the need to open the topic in this forum because the model of my tablet is not available in the forum.
I've installed a rom on the tablet, although I'm satisfied, there are a few problems. The touch screen was disabled when I started using the pen before the ROM, now it doesn't disable. At first, I thought that the drivers needed by the pen were missing, but the pointer appears on the screen when I move the pen closer to the screen. How can i fix this issue?
Finally, when I move the screen to the vertical position, the pen continues to move horizontally.
Sorry for my bad English, thanks in advance.

Repeating letters with oonsscreen kkeyboard

As you can see in the title, I'm having problem with onscreen keyboard inserting multiple letters. I'm sure it didn't happen when I initially got the s7+. I've tried on both Samsung keyboard and gboard. Gboard has been a little better. I've also disabled swipe typing. I notice that when hovering over the screen on the s7+ and my z flip, buttons are highlighted or pressed without touching the screen. Is there a way to stop that as I think that's the problem.
Did search before posting but found another post on same issue woorded ddiffferently.

TEST...
I've aadd a Glasprotoctor on the screen..,The only response on the screen with a normal keyboard is max 0.5mm in front of the screen.
So no issues are visible on my side.
Really?
I also experience this on my Mi9 Lite. Also on my MSI laptop but not that often. Maybe its realted to the OS hiccups? Is it really that bad?
