[APP]Notch/Cut out battery bar - Samsung Galaxy S10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Testing is closed as I have enough data for this update. Thanks to everyone who tested
This is one of my little apps that add a battery bar around the notch of a phone. I have ported the feature to the S10 and S10+. Please try it out
The trial version link.
The pro version link

You should include an option to also move the circle left/right as it is non well centred otherwise.
I have a screenshot but you cannot see the camera :/
https://pasteboard.co/I66O6JM.jpg
Afterwards it seems to always be at 100% even though my battery level is much less.

Thanks for testing it out. Yes, in the final version there is an option to move it sideways. Does the top and bottom fit? I can't get an idea from a screenshot.

So this is another wallpaper metod? Why cant we have a static circle bar around the camera lens that's visible everywhere..

Android doesn't allow anything to be displayed over the status bar area. So it is almost impossible. Not entirely impossible but it will show up over only 50% of the apps.

The bar is slightly off center to the left. Ive included a picture and a template for the S10+.
App installed and running - https://i.imgur.com/uDRvrO7.png
S10+ Template - https://i.imgur.com/NaZ1WtM.png
It does looks like a black screen but just right click in the middle and Save Image As.

The cut out is just the hole punch. Make your status bar around that hole.

I had to change the height and reposition just a little, but its working great with no issues on my s10+, anything else i can do to help test?

About the NOTCH

Is there any way we can actually disable the notch, I mean literally make it black and move the status bar below the notch , just like on normal smartphones?. Will that be possible with some mod in the future,or does such a thing already exist?
That is a nice solution but they would have to write code to disable the touch completely in that area and a lot of work will be involved in case an app tries to fill that area. Xiaomi doesn't likes to work, and they create more bugs with every fixes. I am not even mentioning how odd that will look, Xiaomi doesn't likes to work but they do care about the design and want their devices to be elegant. I have never never seen such a great looking cheap casing ever in my life, even Samsung can't achieve that.

I still don't see what the big deal is. You can see the icons if you slide down the notification bar. It's a little inconvenient but not at all frustrating or unacceptable. Sure they can fix that to some extent in the future through an update but it definitely is not a deal breaker. Using an IOS device for an Android User, That's Frustrating.

I didn't receive my poco yet, does it have a notification preview for the lock screen? Coz I put my phone on the office and see details of incoming notification, if each time I get a notification I need to unlock and slide, that's a big deal for me

Raised my voice to POCO on status bar thing,

Let's see what they do.
No notification on status bar due to the notch is realy frustrating. Hardly 4 days of usage, I miss those notification icons on status bar. Its like they skipped step 1 for achieving god_knows_what. I have literally started hating the phone in 4 days itself. Trust me, its beyond frustrating. Its like you went back to Symbian OS -_-. How can they miss out on such a basic and addictive utility?!

Probably for the same reason they waste time to badly redesign Android's user interface instead of just using the standard Google layout.
At that point, that's the only reason I'm not buying this phone, until we see AOSP ports.
Would have been a no brainer if it was shipped with Android One instead of MIUI.
Well according to me, this might be the best way to overcome the notification icons problem.

I have exactly the same query. On checking several posts on internet, i have realized that 'Fullscreen' doesn't imply 'Include the notch' for notched phones. Am i wrong?
If there's only a way to include notch in all apps(playing video and games too) rather than excluding it. Seems like inclusion of notch as a part of screen for the complete UI in Poco would give a much better experience.

EMUI 9: Return Network & Wifi icons to right of notification bar

Ahoy, XDA.
My Huawei Mate 10 pro recently updated itself to EMUI 9 (Android 9) and one change is really annoying me quite a bit: the network and wifi indicator icons are now positioned with the other, transient notification icons on the left hand side of the notification bar.
How can I move these indicators back to their proper place: the right hand corner?
I have been using Android since 2010 and, seriously, I never asked for and don't want such a pointless change. I like to have the left hand corner clean -- meaning all transient notifications have been dealt with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It only simulates having a notch, which makes no sense at all when the phone doesn't have one, and it makes the statusbar icons lower

Thats why there is at the end of sentence . As huawei has ton of phones with notch i guess it was easier for them to make same layout across all phones.

I just received the update today. Saturday January 26th. Certain icons to the right don't bother me either.
It appears that they made the active icons to the left and the static ones, i.e., battery and time to the right. Seems logical to me and less clutter on one side only.
Any solucion?
My Mate10pro was automatically updated with emui9 as well. I agree that the mobile network and wifi status icons are VERY ANNOYING on the left side. In my understanding the status bar should show status icons on the right and notifications on the left side. It is simple as that.
Any idea how to fix this and return the icons to their proper place???!

[Q] how to get rid of the blur effect in the quick settings drawer in One Ui?

Is its possible?
its driving me insane - it makes my s9+ feel like a cheap laggy phone - what a terrible useless effect.
Do you mean you pull the status bar? Because I like to have it and using Swift installer to do this
I mean this blur effect here

I didn't say it was a solution to the blur thing you mentioned. I just said your issue, plus the slow switching animation are things bothering me in Pie and cannot solve it.
Also tried with different themes, but none of them modified those things

I don't think this is possible to remove the blur. It was introduced already in the good lock app quickstar on android 8 and now they added it as default.
when I pull down the notification bar there is no lag though. But I am using the feature "reduce animations" which I really like.. way better than setting animations to 0 in dev options..
Is there any way to make the icons in the quick settings smaller though? They are waaaay to big for me and is killing the experience.

it doesnt lag in the home screen - but the animation is terrible when u do it in the lock screen - partially because it decides for you to open the entire drawer

Just updated my phone today - the blur effect was removed

At the beginning i thinked the same, but the content is Blurred to focus on The Notification Pannel i guess, When you touch the status bar The Blur Animation(Transition) was a nice effect, they should leave it as optional and Not Remove it fully

I have the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy Note 9 side by side, both running Android pie. I wasn't paying attention at first, but I noticed something after I installed a good lock, which worked perfectly on my Galaxy Note 9. Upon uninstalling good lock, it is around this time that I noticed that there is a blur background when I pull on my notification bar. But I cannot remember if it was always like that. Comparing it to the Android pie in note8, this is not the case. The background remains transparent but a little bit dimmed, which is what I prefer.

Smaller or are we able to add more than 6 on the top row? Hell my s7 or s5 I think I could have 8 icons on the top. Makes it way more convenient when accessing things. I noticed with Oreo I can have 6 and there is no where that I can find that I can add more... Is this a feature that Oreo removed?
Thanks,

Question Hide Notch option

Hey All !
I'd like to know if anybody knows if there's an option not to hide the notch in the system, i can't find that in the settings, even in Notifications & Control Center/Status Bar.
That's kinda annoying because i have a black bar on some full screen apps.
(Btw i'm running MIUI 12.5.7 China Stable)
Kind regards,

If the issue is with the notch, you want to take a look at developer options, but if the issue is with full screen apps is in the settings from the app to allow or not displaying them in this mode.
Thanks for your reply !

Mm, I guess it solves if you hide the notch but moving the status bar, maybe an update? I remember some versions didn't include some features. In the meantime, you should read that https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/non-root-ota-hide-notch-fit-status-bar-with-notch.3838642/

Hey Guys !
So I flashed the xiaomi.eu ROM and there is the same issue, i tried SubwayChamp's method without success because i can't install the apk found in the guide
I don't know what to do, it's really dumb to have such a bar with the mix 4 screen...
Crazy isnt it, buy a phone with an under display camera and still get screen missing, i think the only phone i had that worked perfect was the Oneplus 7 pro.
Probably you can try by "moving" the screen (or simulating to do that) by reducing the screen tall.
If this method is still available in the current android version, you can try it https://nerdschalk.com/change-screen-resolution-adb-android/
For example, the resolution in MM4 is 2400x1080 if my source is not wrong, so you can do by trial-and-error 2370x1080, if not then 2350x1080 till get a comfortable view.
In MIUI-12.5 there is no option of moving screen smaller by reducing screen tall. They removed this option. This is causing problem, some notification icons get hidden under the front cam notch. Irritable thing.
Once you have Magisk installed, use this module
Tried with Xiaomi.eu, works perfectly

Hello guys, I am considering to buy Mi Mix 4 and it is really difficult to find info on this other than youtube reviews all saying same stuff.
My question is, if I use the stock ROM and no root, will I get this black bar or notch sometimes? I thought the camera was always hidden?
Second question is, how invisible is the camera really? On some video reviews, when the screen is off or on a white background, I can see the circle for the camera, but someone said it is just the cutout on the screen protector. So the screen protector has a hole for camera? Anyone tried removing the screen protector? Is the cutout or the camera completely invisible then?

Hey !
I had that black bar when i received the device on an official ROM, it may be fixed later tho (or have been fixed on official).
As i'm using xiaomi.eu Rom atm i can't tell but i still got that issue on some apps with EU rom, to me, that's the only drawback the phone has atm.
The camera is really hard to see, you can see it when you're screen brightness is low mostly on dark grey colors. When you're using it with full or 75% brightness it is slightly visible on dark colors (except black where it invisible because of the OLED) but it is really good and million times better than a hole punch.
Imo it is not an issue : I never bought a phone with a notch because i can't stand this and believe me, the UPC on the MIX 4 is amazing.

Question Nacho Notch compatibility

Hi all, just curious whether the good old punch hole hiding app works normally on this device or not.
I've been using it since a few years and still appreciate the look of a complete black status bar rather than the standard design.
Could someone please confirm that there are no issues with Nacho Notch on Pixel 6?
Thanks!

I don't know anything about whether nacho notch works, but you could try this module for a black Statusbar if it doesn't. Go to settings/developer settings and choose waterfall cutout to hide the camera completely and to fix the statusbar in landscape mode.
