blurring a specific part of a wallpaper across android - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i am working with a developer on a custom navigationbar app, he doesn't know how to make blurring of a wallpaper working i want the back of the navigationbar to be covered with a blurry section of a wallpaper top create the illusion of transparency, heres an example of the result i want but without affecting the outside of the navigationbar, i also want this to work inside apps too, Another thing we've yet to figure out is any way to detect when the navigationbar turns White to force Icons to go gray, right now it goes White causing the White Icons to vanish because they are White too, theres also a bug we've come across that makes automatic navigationbar color after app stop working at random times, this bug only occurs on Android pie it wasn't in Android oreo

MIUI 9/Android 7 - dark notification after the newest update.

IMHO dark notifications and the whole possibility of darkening multiple GUI elements was definitely one of the main advantages of MIUI in the view of an average user. Few days ago, under Android 7/MIUI 9 - it was easily possible to have dark notifications (I mean: light-colored text on dark background) with the help of various (MIUI) themes. But after the newest update things have changed badly: now it seems there is no theme which could darken notifications . Or maybe I can't find the right one yet?
I wonder is it possible to have dark notification again - without root, without Substratum? I've tried Material Notification Shade app but I'd like to play with various dark themes as before - that simple way, no hassle for average users. Is it still possible?

Quick Function widget icons unreadable after MIUI 11.0.5.0 update !?

Does anyone know why after MIUI 11.0.5.0. update on Pocophone F1, Quick Function widget icons are completely unreadable, illegible ? Any option to change their design ? They all look the same with just a traces of what it shoud look like.
So now, I have these widgets on my screen, but light grey colour of the circle and light grey colour of signs inside the circle (for example for torch, wifi, mobile data, bluetooth,...) make them look the same. I should have eagle eyes to recognize which one is for which function.
Using Poco Launcher.

Green tint on lockscreen with live wallpaper

So I have always used a livewallpaper.
But with this phone I get a green tint on the lockscreen and when I pull down the status bar.
Have I done something stupid or do you have the same experience?
Euro Phone with 5 october.
The system detects the major color of the wallpaper and sets the translucent overlay with similar tint. I am running Alien shapes live wallpaper (black with colored lines) and my notification shade/lockscreen are grey. With static green(ish) wallpaper I get green tinted notification shade and lockscreen, with red wallpaper the tint is red. This feature is present since Android 8.1. https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/...ication-power-menu-shadows-just-like-pixel-2/
But I have had starfield with several phones since 8.1.
Last mi mix 3. There was no green tint on that one?
And starfield has 0 green. Black with whitish stars.
take a screenshot and check that green tint is in there or not

Feature has been present on clean Android versions. MIUI and maybe others probably did not implement it (fully/correctly).
Detection of color for live wallpapers is hit and miss. I vaguely remember that LWPs report their color to the system, not the other way around as with static wallpapers. Even almost black ones can trigger light theme. You can verify this feature with static wallpapers easily.

Changing At A Glance font color based on wallpaper

Hi,
On Android 10 (and probably 9 too) the icon names, notification icons ane a few other features change color according to the hue of the wallpaper. For example against primarily white wallpapers the font is black. The at a glance widget however stands out as an odd white against the white backdrop. I've seen it turn black in pixel launchers and was wondering if there's some adb settings tweak or any other method to achieve this. I'm not rooted so probably solutions compatible without root are better.
Thanks
I also want to get rid of the same issue. You got any solution so far ?

EMUI 10 theme notification BG color doesn't change....

Hi everyone.. I'm at a loss and don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Let's start saying I'm a super noob with this so all I do is just by trial and error.
Anyway, I have a theme I made with some custom image from my phone. I really like it, but no matter what I try, the color behind the notifications (not the quick menu, that one is fine with the shade of blue I picked) always remains white and so does the main settings background. (the settings background in the dialer app instead, for instance, changes fine, with the same file...??)
I don't understand what or where this white is located cause I've pretty much tried to replace everything white that isn't font or button colors... Yet no luck. Maybe it's hidden somewhere I can't see it?
Basically in the latest theme manager, I go to Home screen, settings, and under background I put a .9.png file. But this image is never reflected in the theme when I apply it. I don't know if this is what affects the notification color either, but I have no other clue what could be since it's the only 2 things that remain white in the theme!
I know it's possible to definitely change notification BG color in emui 10 themes because I have downloaded some who have green or red/blue notifications and those changed fine.... So I copied them from phone to pc and selected import in the theme studio cause I wanted to check where the difference was... But when I import them they revert to default. Maybe they're protected (rightfully so!) or something?
If anyone who makes themes could kindly help or tell me where the exact setting for the notification colors is, it would be a great help, or if anyone knows why that image doesn't get applied to the theme!
Thanks!
