I know exynos is underperforming, but these battery tests are underwhelming - Samsung Galaxy S10 Guides, News, & Discussion

use google translate and go to "battery life"
the exynos s10/s10+ seems to be worse than the galaxy s8/s8+ and s9/s9+
I personally haven't stressed my phone that much and I didn't notice major battery drains, but I'm now thinking of returning my exynos s10

Just return it if you're not happy and get another phone that makes you happy.

I can get decent sots for now. I will try to stress my phone harder first and see how it goes, but those results seems wrong to me, it's not possible that an s8 lasts more than a s10+, what the hell is going on?

Can only tell you that I have an Exynos S8 & Exynos S10 and the S10 has way better battery life for my personal usage pattern

same for me too, I had an s8 and now I have an s10, both exynos, I think the s10 is better, but according to benchmarks it's ****

So you're saying that you're letting something on the internet make you doubt something you can demonstrate for yourself to not be the case? I'm confused.

Maybe It's because I'm not using my phone too much for now, maybe some day I will need more power and I will discover it's sh*t as it is in the benchmarks. I made this post hoping for an expert to explain me this huge difference that there is even between a regular s8 and a s10+ in their test with the exynos variant. The problem seems to be related to high power drain from the wifi module, as notebookcheck says, but it's only a supposition.

after 4 days of my S10+(Exynos) learning usage pattern I tried Medium Power Saving mode but I kept resolution on Max and I set brightness to no decrease but I guess in High Power Mode you get that +10% for brightness...even in Medium Mode the phone was still snapy fast and I was happy with that..I got 5.5 hour SOT till I was down to 20% on my battery...before I owned S9+ Exynos and I got maximum 4 hours SOT with same daily usage and when I switched to Medium Power phone was laggy..slow...and I didnt save much battery. Today Im going to test High Power mode and see if its really bad but for now...my advice to you is switch to Medium Power...Exynos is really powerfull CPU so you wont notice any big slow downs.

Yeah I was expecting a lot more from the battery, and I've yet to reinstall all my old apps with TB, I think after I'll have all my stuff back it'll be even worse.

I'm with Davey Dual Sim, my Exynos is performing fantastic, both in performance & battery life.....:good:
Absolutely no complaints here, for me I see it as better than the Snapdragon 855 this year :good:

Same here my exynos is great in both performance and battery life

Also got the S10+ Exynos version, no problem at all. The battery lasts longer than my S7. Just use the phone as you do in your daily use and see what's going on.

Galaxy S III Will overheat?

Hi, wish to ask a question to whom tried sgs3 in uk presentation or already own it
The sgs2 was well known for overheating, expecially under the rear camera, when intensive use
Do The sgs3 suffer the same problem?

I think you mean will the SGS3 get warm? Overheating would cause most likely reboot and the phone would be pretty much unusable.
I dont own the phone but Ill say that there is a 99% chance that it gets warm when in use. All my devices (SGS,SGS2,Prime,Ideos X5) get hot from the back when you use them for intensive web browsing or gaming.
Hell yes.....when we start overclocking it
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
gettin warm and overheating are totally different. and yes with intense use all high end devices will get warmer. but overheating.... i dont think it would happen
It should run at slightly lower temperatures doing high intensity activities than other devices because of Samsung's High-K+ Metal Gate technology - the iPad 2,4 revision uses the same process and runs about a degree cooler than the older iPad2 revisions. There is less voltage leak being dissipated as heat with this set up. See Anandtech's article on the iPad2,4 revision for more detail.
Not much hot even on charge it's showing 35.5C. See attached.

Did the GS3 became hot in the 15 minutes of web-browsing?Like the GS2 does?

Look, I gotta be honest, I expected it to became hotter...
Well actually it doesn't get that much hot, it's even colder than the GS2 in normal usage.

Yes i know but that's a general indication of temp since if cpu is overheating the battery will become hot as well.

Anyone improve with Build.prop?

Just that, i want to know if you change the values from build.prop, or do you install apps like L SPEED what edit that for us.
What do you change? did it work? do you recommend this?
im interested to try but first i want to know if you guys have experience. Thanks! :fingers-crossed:
Try,
but my suggest is only to stay closer to stock, because our problem (i think) is just hardware (too hot).
Take xPower rom, that's all my suggestion, and no more.

Who says you cant try XPower? My model is also E5803, i was on. 253 and i installef XPower V5 with no problems expet for the normal over heating during gaming. Thr rom works perfectly, i get 7-8hrs browsing the net, 4-5hrs playing plants vs zombies, 2 days minimum on light usage.
I have xposed with greenify module.
Installed stereo soundmod for.305 to get louder sounds
Z5 endurance tweaks v5
So far all good. Just that my phone model now shows E5823. Give it a try n lets share our experiences, x reality works too.

U will have to wipe, as stated in the XPower op. As for the mods just search with the names i give you it should take you to yhe post i can figure out where it is anymore. The z5 endurance tweaks is the right one, use v5. Let me know how urs perform in 2days. Maybe urs could b better cos i didnt update to. 305. In Aroma choose the lite version so you have tje option to choose what Apps u want to instal later. It takes a long time to instal almost an hour for me, so just chill.

Well that really depends on what I'm doing when the screens on. If I'm playing Mobile Legends about 4 hours, If I'm watching videos about 5.5 hours, if I'm just on here reading or replying to emails then 6-7 hours. Don't put too much stock into peoples sot because how they use it may not be anything like how you use it. With QC 3.0 you can go from 0-100% in an hour or 0-35% in 12 minutes.
Hi, went from Note 3 to this phone as well. If you worry about the battery life, at least compared to Note 3, don't. The processor is way more power efficient. Of course if you push it hard with games it eats up the battery fast. Medium to moderate use i get easily through a day with 30% percent left. The best thing maybe is the speed compared to the Note 3 lags (thanks Samsung). However there are many phones to consider. If you have a bit more budget i would also look the OnePlus 3T.
I was worried about the battery coming from a redmi note 3 which had a beast of a battery.
I never failed to get through a full day yet and the QC makes all the difference when you need a topup. Battery could be better but it is by no means bad.

Use small eui by iaureeel. Has best sot as far as I know, use it myself. Of course, never can be enough, but around 5hours is good for this phone

I flashed LineageOS but my phone is not smooth as I expected.

Hey, about 2 weeks ago, I flashed LineageOS 14.1 and I expected it will be fast and smooth, but it is not... it is slower and more laggy than my previous LG G2. When I run some app or just using multitask, it is slow and laggy, sometimes it takes 10s to load Music Play. Im not sure, but I think the problem is RAM management, on EMUI I used to have about 500 - 800MB free, but on Lineage I have 100 - 300MB free, only android takes about 700 - 900MB. Do you know the solution? Thanks
Performance might be a combination of things.
- The Snapdragon 800 (from the G2) has very fast CPU cores which can still beat a lot of midrange phones to date performance including the Snapdragon 616 found in the Honor 5X. Which likely has a pretty big role in the overall feel and speed.
- Hardware didn't start as a flagship like the G2 so there might have been compromises on storage speeds among other things.
- LineageOS 14 isn't fully optimised at this point. With some updates including some pretty big changelogs with some aspects related to general performance. So wouldn't be surprised if things would smooth out over time.
-And lastly: in general free RAM is useless RAM. It's there to be used and should improve performance if used correctly.
Hello,
I have the same problem as Trong, even if I must admit that my kiwi improved by some extent since I installed Lineage OS.
I would suggest, if still experiencing poor performance, to perform a clean installation again, wiping all data out (backing it up before hand, of course).
Doing this, I was able to enjoy my kiwi for...well, one month and something. Then it started to lag and slow down again. Maybe it depends on the fact that I updated LineageOs a couple of times, in the meanwhile.
Today, I am experiencing slowdowns, lag when I have to writ something, difficulty in passing from an app to another.
I am getting frustrated, sick and tired. It is not possible that one spends more that 250€ and experiences such a stress every single day! I don't know what to do, if not breaking this phone into pieces...
Today I just installed an app for excluding apps that execute on boot. I will give this Honor 5x one more chance before changing it for another phone.
Very frustrated, very very tired.

An update: actually using a lightweight launcher as Envie (love it!), and NOT cleaning up RAM, improved my kiwi performance. No lags, smooth experience.

Rn3 SD rom help

Hi there, i've a rn3 (snapdragon, 3Gb ram) and I'm currently using MIUI but I'd like to try some new roms also to try fixing a WiFi signal issue. I need your help since I'm not very informed about them [emoji28]. I'm looking for a stable, quite frequently updated and quite customizable *rom with a good battery usage (now on miui I'm around 1.5-2 days of usage). Is it better to chose nuogat or Oreo based ones? Can you suggest me some roms and maybe also kernels to try?
Thanks in advantage

Frequent updates: Oreo roms (as nougat roms somehow don't get updated anymore)
Good Battery usage: Nougat roms (not sure about oreo roms. I'm getting 8h SOT on ABC oreo tho)
Stability: Nougat roms
Customization: Any rom will do I think. Yet Resurrection Remix, NOS and AEX are known to have good customization options (on both android versions)
Now make up your mind
Just go for Nitrogen OS 8.1 oreo. Best in Performance, Best in SOT. and awesome rom for Daily driver.

which build man?
Most, if not all Oreo ROMs drain battery when idle. Sure, they can make good SOT on intense day to day usage, but if you use one battery charge for 1.5 days or more, you probably won't find Oreo builds practical because of the bad standby battery usage.

Obeviously The latest build man 17/05/2018 OReo build.
I'm a Kenzo noob so I cannot give you much in the way of advice, although that said, Resurrection Remix and AOSPExtended are great on the customisation front, but LineageOS and Pixel Experience are the best bet in terms of just getting your phone up and running on a custom firmware front, with the latter having the advantage of not requiring a separate Google Apps package as it is built into the firmware.
I'm currently rocking the Pixel Experience Oreo firmware, and battery life averages around 8-10 hours on frequent YouTube/Spotify/Chrome/Opera use, which is better than the LG G4, another device I own as of the time of writing, which is neck-and-neck with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in terms of performance.
