Which XT1021 do you have? The retail global? There's a method to unbrick Motorola Qualcomm devices that involves finding a working phone to take a copy of the whole eMMC and then copy that file to a microSD to boot the bricked phone.

Hello there. Since I've posted this request many members of this community have helped me a lot but sadly I'm still with my bricked Moto E, so I'm still looking for Moto E owners that want to help me. If you have a Moto E XT1021 Retail Global (bought from Amazon United States) and you're willing to help me please contact me by PM. Again thank you to all the people that contacted me since then.

I hardbricked it too. But I took it to the service center in Mumbai today and they are going to fix it in under 10 working days. They didn't check if my bootloader was unlocked or not so its still under warranty. Go pretend like you still have warranty and you don't know what happened. I don't have to pay a thing

[Q] Root Moto E running 5.0.2

I had updated my unrooted Moto E to Android 5.0.2 manually. Now I tried to root my phone using the instructions provided online and it all went OK. But when I tried to open the SuperSU, it says that the binary superSU is not installed and you have to re-root or consult relevant forums. What do I do now? Even when I installed root checker, it says the phone is not rooted. What to do? Help needed..

Why would you update manually to 5.0.2 when that's what the phone comes with? Or do you have a 1st Gen version? You are posting in the Moto E 2015 (2nd Gen) version forum.
Apology.
Oh sorry for posting it in the Moto E(2015) thread. I had the problem on the 2014 version of Moto E. Also the problem is solved now.
Thanks for replying.

I'm willing to give it a try.
I have Motorola Moto G4 (2016) Athene XT1622 and am looking for a simple way to root it - preferably without the aggravating Motorola "Your phone has been unlocked and cannot be trusted message" on bootup.
Let me know........

To get rid of bootloader unlock warning we might need some special logo.bin to flash - I did this for my moto g1. I didn't find any boot logo file to flash for g4 yet.

It looks nice and I wish I'd seen this before I flashed my G4 this morning because I would have tried it. I generally just flash with a bat file I make with the fastboot commands, but your utility looks interesting.

I just unlocked and rooted my second one for my wife today, with no troubles. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-moto-e-2015-t3045748
It should work fine. If it doesn't, you must have done something wrong.
