I'm also looking for a custom rom for rosy. I don't like miui my Redmi 5 came with and really miss lineageos I had on my previous phone, so either custom nougat or orea would be great. Did xiaomi release kernel sources yet?

I found lineageos 14.1 for redmi 5 (rosy) in chinese miui forum.
I have yet to test it since I am still waiting the 360 hours **** to unlock my device.

Linageos 14.1 = nougat
I think all lineageos rom should support english.
But i haven't tested this rom since i am still waiting to unlock my device.

Finally unlocked my redmi 5 (rosy) and installed this lineageos.
Working good, all essential things like fingerprint, wifi, camera, bluetooth works.
Used for a few hours, seems stable enough.
Have english lanuage support.
Did you have gcam mod for redmi 5 ?
Ir blaster work on lineage os ?
I enabled camera api2, and install gcam mod.
Gcam seems to take picture normally, but hdr+ no effect.
I didnt test ir as i dont use it.
Portrait mode work ?
Oh, portrait mode in gcam mod take weird picture.
But anyway, as hdr+ not working, gcam is useless to me.
I use open camera, and it is perfectly ok.
Face unlock working ?

If the forum for redmi 5 doesn't exist yet then wait until it's created. The redmi series is always not as popular as the redmi note series so sometimes it doesn't exist or creating the forum for redmi devices is just slow. I know there's a forum for redmi 4 prime but it's running SD625, whereas redmi 4 and 5 is only running SD4xx, so it's a completely different device

I own a Redmi Note 5 Pro.Yesterday I updated it to MIUI 10 Global Stable.GCam is not working since then.It was working perfectly with MIUI 9.6.All my Camera2API permissions have been revoked as well.(checked using manual camera compatibility).
Couldn't find any TWRP for MIUI 10 Camera2API enabling so didn't try it again.
My phone's bootloader status is unlocked and device is non-rooted.I'd prefer not rooting it since I have more than 9 months of warranty in hand.
Please help as the low light shots with stock camera are terrible,to say the least.

Can someone please port the stock miui 10 redmi note 4 camera app for customs ROMs based on Oreo? Gcam is not working good for me. It crashes sometimes and takes a lot of time to process images. I loved the stock miui 10 camera app and its portrait mode. I miss it.
I have magisk installed. I am on LineageOS 15.1
I am too searching for it. Have you got it?
I have magisk and stock 10.1.1x rom, let me know how to port the camera app, I will do needful for you asap.

I'm new here , I just enable Camera2API on my redmi note 4 but after that I get black screen each time I install GCAM , I tried a lot of versions but still the same problem.
I read that GCam is not working on redmi note 4 MIUI 10 , So is this true , Or did any one fixed that issue ???

It's not fixed and probably will never be fixed
That is just miui heking up things
As both these phones share similar hardware , can I install redmi note 5 miui rom on rn4 or any way to mod rn5 miui so that it can work on rn4 ?

Never flash a rom that isn't for your phone or you will very likely brick your phone
Android isn't like windows, you can't simply install the same version on every phone, each rom is only meant to run on a certain device with a specific configuration.
You can install pixel experience for rn4 mido version with Qualcomm cpu here:

However I am not a newbie here , I have been tinkering with android devices , even with earlier mediatek based devices.
I have had my fair share of bootloops and stuff.
The only reason I asked this was that these both devices are literally same. Just different screen sizes(which doesn't matter much in software side of things).
They share same ram, rom, cpu etc.

Just found out , theres no portrait mode on redmi note 5/ redmi 5 plus , whereas portrait mode on rn4 works perfectly on both cams.
Beta of rn4 is more like stable , however it is not the case with note 5/ redmi 5 plus.
