Best Battery/Performance ROM/Kernel combination? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hey team!
I wanted to start this discussion by knowing which setup you prefer the most:
Example:
1. Havoc OS
2. Shadow Kernel
3. Magisk Modules: GPU Rendering, LKT, Universal GMS Doze
4. SOT: 8-9 Hrs (Moderate usage, Pokemon Go for 2 hours, YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram)
5. Idle Drain: 10% in 8 hours
6. Naptime, Servicely
I believe this will help people deciding people which setup to use!
Hope we can get a lot of feedback, thank you!

Since I dont care about battery life I just use the premade rom by dev
example
HavocOS - with kernel that comes with it.
No battery saver / profile etc.
Got 6-7hr sot 30hr+- bot

without details, its miui 9.6.25 oreo

0,1%/hr Battery Drain! at Standby

For most of us, the phone is more asleep than it' s in operation. That's why choosing the correct ROM & Kernel is essential for your battery.
I wanted to figure out which ROM is best regarding battery life when the screen is off and how to reach the best result.
I Started testing with the CM13 as it supports Xposed and Amplify, great batterysavers.
I'll Keep this updated per 1 or 2 days.
BetterBatteryStats Calculation.
The app to calculate the drain is called BetterBatteryStats, a well known app.
If I look at my stats: View attachment 0.2.txt I can see the voltage went down from 4402 to 4313 (-89) in 1223minutes. That's 60 x 89/ 1223 = 4.366%/hour = 4.4%, which is correctly showing in BBS in the attached file. Now I translate this to percentages: 4.4% voltage decrease x 5% battery decrease / 89 = 0.245%/hour battery. This is again correct according to BBS. I guess this is a fair calculation. the voltages seem to go up and down all the time, so I don't understand how it's an exact calculation but ok.
Settings
Batterysaving settings - Please KEEP IN MIND It's in a TEST Stage, probably things won't work if you Limit everything like I did, but I didn't encounter many problems =)
-Install Amplify and limit as much of crap you can possibly do. I limited the following to 999999 seconds (lol)
The wakelock names differ to every ROM. That's why I won't name them all. I'll update tomorrow the wakelocks , alarms and services I limited in the xiaomi.eu ROM.
Install Greenify: Aggressive Doze, Working mode: Boost, WakeupTime Coalescing, Deep Hibernation, Gcm Push, Greenifying system apps, Reveal Hidden sync.
And then hybernate all crap, except basic stuff the phone needs. I Hybernated for example: AudioFx, Google play services, live lock screen, nfc service, weather service, google service Framework etc.
General Settings: Wifi never keep on during sleep, BT off, NFC off, Sounds off, Vibrate off, Brightness minimal, no adaptive brightness, disable adjustments, no ambient display, no double tap to wake and sleep, sleep after 5 min, no battery and notification lights, % battery in statusbar, no sync accounts, location off, Developer options: 0,0x animation and duration scales, Play store: dont update, deselect app updates available.
Battery History App: I installed it to monitor at what exact time it decreases every percentage. So I noticed that from 100% to 99% it takes mostly 6 hours or so, while the rest is much lower (around 1 to 3 hours) You can save more battery by not installing this as it has many wakelocks.
Testresults

09/02/2017 - 0.3%/hr ROM: Same as above but I disabled the Battery History app. View attachment 09022017.txt
12/02/2017 - 0,108%/hour ! in the morning and 0,148% in the afternoon! -View attachment 0.1.txt & View attachment 4040214ROM Used: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI5_6.11.10_v8-6.0 with Xposed, Greenify, Powernap, Amplify, Battery Saver Off.

Are you using cm13 snapshot or nightly(which build)? Also any custom kernel with it?
I installed the 20/12 snapshot, and installed the DragonXIA CM based Kernel

Thanks my friend, I have the paid version but I downloaded it from somewhere on XDA without paying, and amplify aswell.
I actually got 0,1%/hour with the xiaomi.eu ROM with android 6.0 with xposed and amplify and greenify and powernap. (android 7.0 is not supported by xposed and amplify) I will upload new details tomorrow!

I found best battery is stock rom 5.9.26S from ALBA in Russia forum you can download it here:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/3rWz/V8e4aZYBE
Or Madsurfer stock rom 5.9.26S with Sense home launcher
Nougat rom try Ground Zero roms Tipsy, Validus, Tesla normally it got pretty good battery life with good performance.

Used it last night for 2 1/2 hours sot to 50% so I'm assuming 6 hours. Just feels so much more smooth and solid than linage or RR or aosp based ROMs. Way smoother than eui.
It's miui8 port a little bit tricky to get it to boot properly the 1st time but well worth it I have Xposed installed. Freedom

I usually get 5.1/2 - 6 hours SoT on RR which is pretty decent. You just need to find the right settings for long battery life.
Small EUI could potentially outperform RR in the field of batterylife , but I just can't get used to EUI based ROMS after experiencing Nougat features.

Wow. How do you manage to get that! I barely hit 3 and 1/2. It's not that bad, but more sot it's really appreciated

Which version of rr? Nougat or mm?
I'm running 7.1.2 RR 27/05 build.
I changed the resolution to 1920*1080/420 dpi. It's more than enough for me, I see no point of watching 1440p content on a mobile screen.
I use Balanced Xana ATK profile (Settings->Leeco Extras->AKT profiles) and Greenify app to limit background running apps.
I turned off the logger buffer sizes (Developer settings). In Display settings turned on adaptive brightness and reduced power consumption (livedisplay). Also turned on batterysaving mode in location settings.
I would like to highlight that If I play any game (usually Mobile Legends) I get around 4 - 4 and a half SoT with approximately 1 hour gameplay.
I also tried out the newer build (02/06) but AKT profiles didn't work in that one (not noticed any differences in Kernel Adiutor), so I've decided to stay on this build for while. But I read that there are new powersaving features in the latest build, you might wanna check that out.
You can read about some kernel tweaks here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/kernel-blackscreen-pro3-aka-zl1-x727-t3594976 (2. post)

Do you have any link telling more about that Russian ROM? A thread link or something like that. I guess its from 4pda? I've tried to search but got nothing. Seems to be a very lightweight ROM..
Thanks.

It's on Russia forum here I found rom by ALBA for Le Max 2 and Le Pro 3 (different tread): this link for Le Max 2:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=822890
You gotta click under LeEco Le Max2 at the top fourth line in blue text (EUI) and there is 5.9.26S. It's Russian language though not much I can understand.

Interactive cpu governor, alucard hotplug, and no, i didn't underlock. But if you chose a AKT profile, you don't have to necessarily mess with kernel settings, the profile does that.
Now I'm on 13/6 build, so far it's fine. A bit laggy though, I think the BS 2.3 could cause that. Not noticed any difference in battery life.

Hey. Thank you for the great explanation! What was your on the 7.1.2 RR 27/05 build? Can you upload the kernel or the rom itself please? Thx
Edit: I think it can be bs 2.1. I'm using v13.07 of RR N. I flashed that bs kernel. I'm testing it with some Kernel A. changes and stock AKT. I'll add a few SS about my battery usage after the test

Gaming advice (Nougat) don't spam

Hello guys after I tried a lot of ROMs combo kernels roms blabla if any1 want to try its free and trust me u will love it.
The best combo its here super smooth
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298984356 RRD by movzx notice the 09-09-2017 build (Nougat)
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1RiBJVEj4Y2aBnGQFwa7fhpDMPJOYOrsb Shadow Kernel 4.7 choose settings for performance-hexa core and apply undervolt and disable f-sync/ choose permissive selinux (if u want any magisk module)
Apply those settings in darkness app for gaming
Turn off arch power
Change both thermals to 80 Celsius
And happy gaming!
Small update: if any1 want vulkan api (cuz some apps support that API ofc) use the guide to enable it vulkan api activator etc
Also I added some photos to check battery usage too it was 4 hour of gaming 1 hour lost as u can compare cuz from one restart I had to do cuz forgot to enable my sound mods on magisk xd

Thanks for the advice. I read somewhere that disabling f-sync causes instability and some issues. If I skip disabling f-sync and leave it as-is and apply all other settings, will it still be fine?
@habitbuilderwarrior yes you can leave it on but here no problems cuz never had a random reboot to loose data etc its up to u
I don't play games, but love performance for daily usage too. Have undervolting improved battery backup during gaming too?

Poco F1 batter heat issue

I have unlocked the bootloader a week ago
I have a tried several roms like.
1.pixle experience
2. Lineage os
3. Miui beta
4.oxygen
5. Nitrogen
6.AICP
7. aosp extended
8. Pixel CAF
9. OMNI
10. VIPER
IN every ROM I have used the battery temp is always above 40°C at idle and full load it crosses 48°C . Is there any solution
My battery temp is never that much in any of the roms i tried.
In you case, check 2 things..
1. What is the ambient temperature of your room. You device cannot be below the ambient temp of your surroundings.
2. Some app i probablyrunning in the background. Check battery usage to spot any such app. Also uninstall any app that is not from a good developer.

Battery saving tips

I am only getting 4 hours screen on time so I have begun to make battery saving choices on my phone and I want to share them with you.
I am using latest AOSIP ROM and just minutes ago changed to Sphinx kernel in hope of improving battery. For some reason Android system uses about 16 % of my battery.
Battery saving app choices with AMOLED screens:
Kiwi browser (night mode makes the app black and also changes the site backgrounds black. Also you can move address bar to bottom)
Vanced black youtube (can be installed via Magisk)
AOSIP completely black system theme
Business calendar (black background)
Pocket casts (black podcast player)
Change whatsapp background to black
I don't install apps like Facebook that run in the background and poll the internet constantly in hopes of saving battery.
I am coming from Xiaomi Redmi 4X with fantastic battery life so this has been a bummer.
I really like AOSIP and wouldn't want to change. Other people don't complain about it's battery so I wonder why Android system uses so much battery. I hope the new Sphinx kernel helps me.
Change to Sphinx kernel and install of Magisk module LKT with battery profile improves dramatically my battery life and I haven't seen any side effects.
73 % battery remaining after a day. Screen on time 1 hour and 45 minutes with light usage of WhatsApp and browser mainly.
Edit: 49 % remaining after 3 hours 52 minutes SOT. Very happy with the phone now!
