[GUIDE] How to enlarge the system and vendor partition of your Nokia 6.1 Plus X6 - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Guides, News, & Discussion

For some reason, Nokia 6.1 Plus X6 has smaller system and vendor partition than Nokia 7 Plus.
Nokia 7 Plus has following size of both partitions:
system_a/b: 3,221,225,472 bytes
vendor_a/b: 1,073,741,824 bytes
Nokia 6.1 Plus X6 has following size of both partitions:
system_a/b: 2,684,354,560 bytes
vendor_a/b: 536,870,912 bytes
Differs of these partition size: 2,147,483,648 bytes, or 2 GB.
This will give you more space for putting your own userdata especially when you're using 4+32 variant Nokia X6.
So what's the point of partition enlargement?
This will allow you flash the same heavily customized ROM like MIUI10 for GSI_SDM660_64 devices.
WARNING: Repartitioning will destroy your userdata, always do backup before proceed!
Here's how:
1. Enter your phone to Download / Fastboot mode.
2. Extract and flash the gpt_both0.bin attached in this topic:
fastboot flash partition B2N-0-339B-gpt_both0.bin
OK, now you've finished repartitioning. You'll need to reinstall DRG-345B-0-00WW-B03 or DRG-347C-0-00CN-B04 full OTA update zip. You can't use stock firmware from https://fih-firmware.hikaricalyx.com/hmd_en.html#drg , otherwise it will revert your partition table back to stock.
To reinstall the payload.bin as fastboot images, please follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...de-how-to-flash-payload-bin-fastboot-t3918843
For you convenience:
DRG-354H-0-00WW-B03-update.zip can be downloaded from: https://android.googleapis.com/pack.../810351d123009ec07c1cb5857c4707fdeba776ef.zip
DRG-347C-0-00CN-B04-update.zip can be downloaded from: https://ota-filesite.c2dms.com/SWImage/500002275
You must erase userdata otherwise the phone will refuse to boot.
I don't know if this operation will break OTA update, but since the major point is using custom ROM, who cares?

After partition can i flash ota file using boot into twrp??

after partition , can i flash gsi rom without installing stock rom . is it possible ??

No you must install stock ROM. Stock ROM contains all the files needed by the GSI to run.

Follow the instructions on how properly. Or else just use a custom ROM lmao. I've seen you in erfan's forums and other places to asking for a GSI.

Worked perfectly for me just last week. Make sure you have python up to date. The script will warn you if there is still something that needs to be updated. Do it.

That happened to me once too. Check if you are getting any warnings in the earlier part of the script.
You could also try a payload from a different rom. I know that there are two different ones linked in the post and at least one of the two worked for me.

BLU R1 HD - 16 GB - Black - Prime Exclusive - with Lockscreen Offers & Ads
This is a Prime stock 6.5 rom, this rom comes from my phone, not rooted unmodified stock rom.
The purpose of this thread is to be able to flash stock or custom roms for Prime R1HD via Twrp.
You need to either have twrp installed or be able to boot into twrp to install this rom.
I currently just boot into twrp, I still have stock recovery installed, my bootloader is unlocked.
I have downloaded @ColtonDRG normal-stock-oob which is V12 non prime version, I checked the permissions on the system to see if 6.5 and V12 used different permission they use the same.
So a V12 rom can be made from my exact stock_rom_R1HD_6.5.zip, I may or may not provide a non prime version, even if I don't all a user has to do it open my stock_rom_R1HD_6.5.zip replace system and boot.img with non prime zip and flash.
There are two twrp recoveries one I just made and one made by @lopestom I had to get the rom compliant with both recoveries, @lopestom was the first recovery available for R1HD and allows backing up and restoring of many partitions, I am going to use his recovery.fstab, but remove the partitions backup and restore I don't use.
both recoveries at one time or other would throw an error
Code:
ApplyParsedPerms: lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to u:object_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint
script aborted: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
I have now fixed that so neither recovery error, any other recovery that might show up, that person will have to fix his own, for now two recoveries can flash my rom, the one I made and @lopestom
To install download rom and recovery if you don't already have twrp.

There are two twrp recoveries, use the one that you want, if you want to back up and restore more partitions use first recovery.
Blu has put out official splash tool ROM for Prime version today, will restore entire phone to stock.
Will be sometime before we get it, nothing on non prime.

Ah, didn't see your edit.
Fastboot is limited in flashing, you can't flash everything.
From memory I think it is:
System, vendor, recovery_ramdisk, recovery_vendor, recovery_vbmeta, ramdisk, kernel, cache, userdata
You could use HWOTA for Mate 10 Lite if you can get into stock recovery, as it will flash the full update.app rather than the limited partitions fastboot can flash.

Yeah, just noticed.
So hwota. I don't have the "stock recovery" I can only flash the recovery that I extract from update.app
The one I flash is bugged for some reason, probably because it's from a slightly different system than the one I had.

If it can be booted into it should work. HWOTA will replace it anyway with a no-check recovery. Or you could use TWRP by Caucava21 and use HuRUpdater (https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279) to update from TWRP.
Either way will work.

Yeah OTA flash from 07 to 09, then a flash from 09 to 10 and followed up with the rooted boot image to make sure everything was as you described. Works flawlessly!

On the russian forum 4pda somebody posted the patched boot.img and vbmeta.img files required for rooting.

Yeah, I also can't register without knowing the Russian keyboard layout and how to identify the characters. Perhaps someone with this knowledge can register and attach the required images to root here?
Slightly off topic while someone manages to grab the files from 4pda
Do you actually get 50000+ gpu score in antutu with the t40? I have the maxpad i11 which is in theory the same hardware, and I only get 42000. I even flashed the t40 firmware on the device, but gpu score didnt budge.
To be on topic: if you want root, you may also flash phhuson's treble GSI rom-s. I tried his version of android 12, and it works, and has root.

Yes.
You can either install them via DSU as dual-boot OS beside your stock rom, or just flash system partition (inside super) via fastbootd (you are going to have to delete product partition to have enough space inside super for the system image) and use them as primary OS.
Gotcha:
Just ordered a T40 Plus, did you manage to get root?
Flashing the boot and vbmeta partitions with the images attached to my previous post will grant you root on the stock t40 plus firmware.
I myself moved on to using android 12 gsi images.

Hi NightLord, can you explain easily the root steps for this device? do we need the software that we see in the video at the beginning or is ADB enough?

Hey,
You need to use the spreadtrum research download tool (RDT), not the one seen in tthe video in the first post.
See this guide on how to use the RDT.
The basic concept is that you need to download the official firmware from the teclast homepage, load it into RDT, uncheck all partitions (save for those that are compulsory and cannot be unchecked), select only boot and vbmeta partitions, and as images to be flashed you need to browse the ones found in the archive I posted, instead of those found in the original firmware package.
Begin flashing, your device will perform a hard reset, and then you should boot into rooted firmware.
Theoretically you should be able to flash both partitions (boot and vbmeta) via fastboot too, but when I tried, i got an error message saying boot.img was too large or something. Flashing via RDT went without problem. The only caveat is that flashing via RDT will always hard reset your device.

First you need to unlock the bootloader. You need to be patient when you are flashing the unlock, my device took some 10 mins to complete, but in the end it succeeded (on the 2nd try, mind you.)
Here is a guide for unlocking in windows, though it is in russian (Im attaching the required modified fastboot in case you cannot download it from 4pda).
When you're done unlocking the bootloader, you've already done the hard part.
Next, download your preferred GSI image from Google, from phhusson's, or whatever else you find (Pixel Experience for eg.). Mind you, that the image from Google contains the Android 12L version.
Next you will flash your active system partition with the GSI image. To do that, initate ADB connection to your tablet, then enter fastbootd, by issuing the command:
fastboot reboot fastboot
you can check your active system slot by:
fastboot getvar all (but it will be slot "a" unless you have received an OTA update previously)
you need to free up some space by deleting the logical partition product otherwise you wont be able to flash your gsi:
fastboot delete-logical-partition product_a
(in case your active slot is "a")
then you can move forward to actually flashing your GSI:
fastboot flash system_a whateverisyourimagefilename.img
Lastly, you will need to wipe userdata, which can be done on the tablet by switching to recovery from fastbootd, and then selecting wipe userdata, or maybe the fastboot -w command does the same.
Reboot, and enjoy your GSI.
I'm using the Google 12L GSI, and it is perfectly stable for daily usage. For bluetooth audio to work, you will have to disable bluetooth a2dp hardware offload in developer options.

I have no idea because I havent tried yet. But I would guess it might be possible that you can flash the patched boot.img along with vbmeta.img with RDT, and it might work, if they do pass Android Verified Boot check.

will these files work on android 10 or android 11? I have a unisoc T618 and unisoc T310. I was hoping to flash both tablets to get root access.
and also do you have a twrp for T40_plus or any unisoc generic twrp?

Harmony 2.0

Anyone knows how to flash it? I looking on web but dont find anythig. Looks its only for China . But maybe there any way to do that
We are free to flash any custom roms without spywares, optimized and light weight, i can't understand why should we flash a chinese rom??
Use Trebledroid for example, it is way better

I can show you some steps to follow to flash any ROM:
unlock the bootloader;
install on your pc adb/fastboot from here;
download this and save that file in the same folder of point 2;
open a terminal in the folder where you have unzipped files from point2;
launch: ./fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img.
download any ROM 64bit, ab version. Be aware the system partition is not large enough, Trebledroid roms are all google free. If you need google apps flash another one, but you could remove some partitions due of the lack of space.
flash it: ./fastboot flash system file_of_the_rom.img, it must be saved in the same folder of point 2. Don't forget to unzip it first;
reboot the tabled in recovery and wipe all data;
reboot.
The first point is tricky, you have the option to pay to unlock or use another way in the link at point 1.
