Its using sony imx 586 for the main cam. Ultrawide and ToF are both samsung sensors.

Use GCAM, because it improves massively the quality of low light pics.

for quality photos some folks invented a device. it's called a camera...
a low budget camera will take way better photos than any crappy lens attached to a cell phone.
The main reason is the size of the sensor.

I bought the same like 2 y ago for my HTC Desire, it's quite nice if you like to play,
Macro lences are , but Wide angle are nothing special, yeah it helps getting more detail anyway I would buy it only for the macro lences,
the pic is from Desire hope it helps
I'm using a macro lens for galaxy s2 and it's pretty good, doesn't affect the quality of the image =)

[Q] Camera - Galaxy S II vs Galaxy S III

I own a Galaxy S II and it takes nice photos in well-lit conditions, but in comparison to the iPhone 4S, the camera quality in very low-light conditions was simply awful.
Is the Galaxy S III sensor an improvement for dim or low-lighted environments over the S II's?
No man full honesty it sucks in low light! I am very dissapointed.
If I remembered correctly, S3 has the same camera sensor as 4S.

That doesnt matter. The pic quality in low light sucks compared to the 4s and even the one series of htc takes better pics in low light.
No one series oversaturates pictures its not gud and gs3 has BSI sensor which is an cmos sensor and takes better pics in low light i m satisfied with lowlight result. As it is a mobile led flash is very gud its not a xenon flash man understand that. And gs2 had no BSI unit man.

Z3C --> Z5C Upgrade (Camera Q's)

Hi
I have a Z3C, wondering whether to upgrade to the Z5C. Specifically, are the following issues with Z3C camera better/solved:
1) Camera startup time from phone off to photo taken using shutter button to power up device. My Z3C can take 5secs plus
2) Camera crash issues - mainly when device is on stamina mode 'unfortunately the camera has stopped' fixed on Z5C?
3) Seriously noisy images even in good light on superior auto when viewing 100% crop is Z5C any better?
4) Do we still suffer from excessive post-processing of images on Z5C ?
Camera quality issues on Z3C would be my only real reasons for upgrading.
Nigel
Same here.
Flash a camera mod and ur camera will become much better,
I flashed camera mod v8 on my z1 and my camera is much better than z2, s4, s5
Samsung only better at low light because they have very strong flash
Thats all i have to compare it with, but you can guess, s5 camera is better than z3

No, Samsung better at low light because using F/1.9 instead of 2.0 that sony uses... LOL :good:
Sony have still not learnt.

without flash, samsung photos come out very dark, but with xperia z1+ photos come out brighter than real life

... A 0.1 aperture difference is marginal.

I disagree.
I hardly use a flash with my S6 and Note 5 and the photos are simply brilliant...
I owned the Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z3C and they always suffered heavy pixilation.
The Z series cams are excellent in daylight though. I am keen to see how much Sony have improved with the Z5 series sensors
Its all the post processing that degrades the photo quality from sony camera phones. Amazes me that the competition often gets better results from the same sony-made sensors!

Hum.. I have the phone and the front camera is quite good when I compare with my older phones like my LG V30, G4, G3 and Nexus 5. Even in comparaison with the Samsung Galaxy S9 from my love, the front camera is not bad. But, I can say that the camera could be better. I think the problem is the image processing software from LG who could be upgraded a little bit for the front camera.
Here is the resolution size of the photos according to the configuration of the front and rear cameras.
Here is a photo from the front camera (DJ Marshmello) and from the rear camera (toilet paper), each with the highest quality and with the automatic fonction of the cameras.

It's all about software image processing. That's the thing! Just look at iPhones front cameras. They have done a great job in image processing as well as pixel

The sensor used in the main camera module I believe is a Sony sensor. But I do know the sensor size is bigger than the regular 1/2.3". I believe it's 1/1.7".
Device Info HW may show supported sensors list on camera tab
