Disclaimer:
We are NOT responsible for anything that may happen to your device as a result of flashing ROMs, kernels, or installing any other mod. You are responsible for your own actions and bad decisions - so stop blaming others!
This is a user friendly thread. Please be respectful and courteous to other users. While feature requests will be considered, AquariOS tries to maintain a ROM that is smooth and stable, so adding every feature under the sun is not the plan here.
READ!1. Unless I tell you otherwise, you MUST always, absolutely, positively, most certainly wipe data AND cache before flashing AquariOS...without a doubt!
2. Don't report bugs if you haven't followed directions - most likely it's user error at that point as far as I'm concerned.
3. Always run a backup before doing anything.
4. Provide a log when reporting a bug (see more info below).
5. Be respectful.

Q & A
Read this before telling everyone something is broken!
1. Android Pay isn't working!! What do I do?
Go into Magisk settings and toggle on the "Hide Magisk" option. Then try again. Also, I've found once in a great while, even with this enabled, it will say it failed - if this happens, just try again...it'll work.
2. It's bootlooping after flashing ROM with Magisk - now what?
Don't flash Magisk until you have already booted into the new AquariOS build at least once. If that wasn't your issue, sometimes Substratum overlays can cause bootloops. If you have anything applied, flash the SubstratumRescue zip from your substratum directory
3. Why is the built-in System Theme section greyed-out (background, accent, & fonts)?
When the Substratum app is installed, this section will become inaccessible in order to prevent conflicts. You CANNOT use them both at once!
Reporting a bug?
See how to do so here:
BEFORE REPORTING A BUG:
1. Flash the SubstratumRescue zip and see if your issue is still there.
2. If you have flashed a custom kernel or ANY OTHER MODs, delete 'data/system/packages_cache' then wipe dalvik/cache, and flash AquariOS again WITHOUT any additional modifications/custom kernel.
3. Check to see if your issue persists.
*Do NOT even bother reporting an issue if you have dirty-flashed AquariOS over some other ROM! We WILL be able to tell!
Logs are crucial to resolving almost any kind of issue. You need to provide a log in order for the issue to be addressed. Please also include info on how to reproduce the reported bug if possible (maybe even take a screen recording for us ).
If you need a log extracting app, try out CatLog!
Either save your log locally and share it, or paste your log into an online code sharing tool like hastebin.com - then share the URL after hitting the SAVE icon.

Can I use it without Gapps?
I guess the subject says it all. Can I use this ROM without the Gapps? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I've never used a custom ROM, but I'd like to get rid of the Google stuff. Maybe use microG just to be able to install some apps which I can only get through the Play Store. Is it possible?

Anyone having SMS problems randomly

what kind of problems?
i use them very rarely, like when I'm installing an app that needs an activation code and no more

Everything working well for me, but not quite sure how to use substratum with this ROM. Notes say it should be mentioned under system/misc, but I don't see anything. Downloading the substratum app doesn't help either.
Anyone have any idea?

It has smart pixel features?

ok i remember that in aosip. and never used it. i tried it but didn't feel like using it. btw no, that's feature is not included in aquarios afaik, or at least i didn't see it anywhere, but not a problem for me i prefer things that are included here and missing in aosip (custom fonts for example but there are others i don't remember now)

I haven't installed this ROM yet so I don't know substratum theme engine is working on this ROM yet.
But my experience is that most Custom ROM'S work flawlessly with substratum( myself I use swift black).
This weekend I'll try aquariusos ROM and will give feedback on substratum and aquarios ROM.

I am looking to flash this for the first rom flash on this phone. My phone currently has the January update with root. Do I just need to flash vendor image before updating or do I need to flash stock image of current? Been holding off flashing roms on this phone. Also, can someone list the correct procedure. From what I gathered, flash vendor, rom, twrp. Reboot. Then flash magisk. Is this right? Thanks.

Theming is no problem.
I have the swift installer working with no issues.....
The programm is similar to substratum, also it only works with root access......

from January not only vendor has been upgraded, but also bootloader and radio. so you should upgrade all ( bootloader, radio and vendor) and in both slots, then factory reset, flash rom and twrp, reboot

Nice rom!
There Is a way to reinstall Google Pixel Launcher with pie's gesture? Thanks

Flashing Steps:
NOTE: You should also make sure you are on one of the most recent firmware versions shipping with your device. I'll try to provide specific information as needed, and occasional flashable firmware files too.
Coming from another rom
NOTE: If you are coming from OOS, you need to FORMAT your /data partition. This is where TWRP asks you to type "yes" to proceed, and is where you will delete all your personal files on your phone. So, BACK THEM UP!
(As an alternate method, you can put the device in fastboot, and use "fastboot format userdata")
1) Download Candy8.zip (See Post #2)
2) Download Oreo Gapps (optional - See Post #2))
3) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
4) Full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, Factory Data Reset)
5) Flash Candy8.zip
6) Flash Gapps
7) Reboot
Updating from previous Candy8 release
1) Download Candy8.zip (See Post #2)
2) Boot into recovery
3) Flash Candy8.zip
4) Wipe Dalvik
5) Wipe Cache'
6) Reboot
IMPORTANT - PROBLEMS/ISSUES:
If you have issues, you need to provide both of the following:
Logs from you (logcat, last_kmsg, dmesg) linked to on pastebin.com or hasteb.in, showing the failure.
A clear description of the steps that I need to take to exactly reproduce the problem.
Please DO NOT complain about problems and offer nothing to help fix it. I reserve the right to ignore you for not following insructions...
NO ETA REQUESTS!
* See Post #2 for Downloads
* See Post #3 for FAQ/Known issues
-Please give first boot a good few minutes.
-New additions and fixes being added constantly...
Special thanks to GZOSP, GZR-Roms, LineageOS, SlimRoms, Omni, TeslaROM, and all the rest who make their source open. We can't do all of this on our own.

FAQ
As of 11Mar2018, firmware is at OB3 for OP5T.
You may find that you have apps FCing after a dirty flash or nandroid restore. Such apps may include Email apps, and other apps that use WebView. AOSP includes their WebView, but it is pretty outdated. If you experience these FCs, and clearing data or even REINSTALLING an app does not fix it, take a look at the version of webview selected in Settings > System > Developer options > WebView implementation, and choose the newest one, in this case, Chrome stable:
View attachment 4405650View attachment 4405651
Depending on the version of GApps you have installed, you may remove/replace included apps (like Dialer, Calendar) without knowing it. For this reason it's suggested to use the smallest GApps package possible that gives you Play Services functionality.
Screen recording tile:
There are 3 different resolutions for the screen record tile, indicated by the 3 "dots" that will appear on the icon. 480P. 720P and 1080P, are 1, 2, and 3 dots, respectively. Tap to change them, then long press to record when ready. Tap the flashing red dot in the lower right of the screen to end recording, or long-press it to move the dot to the other side of the screen.
What's not working:
You tell me. If a noteworthy bug arises, I'll try to list it here for public knowledge.

As per Joe Pacino, you flash this awesome ROM the same way you would any other ROM. Make sure you use and flash June vendor IMG and also use @razorloves gapps.
This is the best ROM even better than Android P
This rom is awesome and I can relay questions to Joe if needed
Does this rom include the LOS recovery? (Important question for those who want to use large kernels like EAS-noshadez as LOS recovery is too big on the boot partition)
Wow, this is an incredible Rom. I'm in the process of adding full Havoc support in my BigBlu Subs theme. Very nice work Team Havoc
This ROM looks and feels fantastic. Few things I noticed though. I can't seem to get AOD working - anyone else having issues with this? Also, after adjusting the battery icon on the statusbar, the changes do not propagate to the pull-down quick settings (battery icon remains portrait).
Minor things that don't bother me too much. Thanks for your hard work and excellent ROM!
I call this Tweaking Havoc. Thank you again for this solid Rom

Yes same here. AoD seems to not be working.
Anyone else facing this? I tried flashing open gapps and then razor gapps https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657594387 but none of them work. No playstore no other stuff.
My method:
1) Factory reset
2) Flash Rom
3) Flash gapps
4) Flash Twrp (optional so I can get twrp back)
No gapps appear in the OS (play store)

Make sure you are in the A boot slot when you flash the rom, followed by twrp, reboot into recovery, this will move you to the B boot slot, flash Gapps and Vendor image, reboot to system, love your phone, say nice things to it, cuddle with it.

Followed it and worked, first time using a phone with 2 slots. Also where should I flash the Magisk and the Kernel?

Anyone else facing google camera app crash? Also has anyone had this issue with pixel xl freezing daily and rebooting? Its pretty common, any solution for this? It happens when you're making a call, or call ending, or randomly sometimes.

Magisk should be flashed to the opposite slot from Rom. So if you flashed the Rom from slot a, flash gapps from slot b, then reboot to OS and setup. Now reboot to recovery, you should still show slot b, then flash Magisk.
I used Google camera yesterday without issue. I haven't had any random reboots either, so you may need to flash the latest stock img. Do a complete wipe and try going back to stock.

Which stock should I flash? I tried flashing P but the system zip fails on invalid sparse file format error when I try to flash it. I'll do a complete wipe and try. Just recommend which stock should I do? I've heard that there are no random reboots on 8.0. While typing this my phone just had one I just got this thing

You should unzip the img and flash in fastboot. There are a few good how to Tuts here and videos on YouTube Also you want to flash the latest Oreo img which should be June.

I cannot remember one time having a random reboot with Marlin. Certainly not on stock. Maybe 1 or 2 that I don't even remember through all the testing I have done bringing different Roms to our device. The flashing of P issue is absolutely user error. If you would like. PM me and I can show you a solution to clean installing Google's factory images that takes all the work out of it and simplifies the process. Good luck!
No need for flashing vendor?
I switched from firehound and did not flash vendor, I was already on June vendor and just followed the directions in the OP.

Q & A
Read this before telling everyone something is broken!

Hi!
Didn't boot on my Huawei mate 9.ended on a bootloop .
can't boot on huawei honor v9
Sent from my Honor V9 using XDA Labs
Haha every gsi should support huawei first because huawei's maximum devices are treble supported
OP, Please endeavor to compress your files before uploading. It's not everyone that has all the bandwidth or data to download such large file. Thank you.
Does this ROM support app scaling? I mean I've got 18:9/18:8 aspect ratio devices on treble roms I've tried I get a huge black bar at the bottom.
Great to see you guys in the GSI section. Be good to have AquariOS on even more phones now!!

Can we get GApps
Can we please get a version of this ROM with GApps included like the AOSP build? That's what is stopping me from using this ROM, I really dislike TWRP and I want to use fastboot, please give us a version with GApps included? Thank you :good:
I know, will be better with those features. That's a bummer, won't boot on my Huawei mate 9.
32 bit A only please. Moto g6s are getting left out of the GSI game and if I didn't have 3meg internet I'd build one myself.

Moto G6 Plus. If we wipe system, TWRP reports no OS installed and bootloops.
Tested on P8 Lite 2017, it is bootloop with or without wiping system partition. It is an interesting rom that I will try next build, thank you

Hey another day another rom, that's what you might be thinking. but we at stag (I'll try not to use big words, because the idea is to be simple) aim at something towards elegance. We are learners just like everyone out there, This is small something we have started which helps us learn every single day. Why Stag, you might question, my answer would be why not. After all Harry's patronus was a stag(pun intended). Anyway, so the aim here is to provide a really good experience to everyone who uses, everyone on telegram channel can contact us and request, everything will be considered, because if you as users feel something missing, it obviously must be missing. So looking forward for people using our StagOS and giving us all your precious feedback.
~Sic Parvis Magna~
PS: for people wondering what sic parvis magna is, it translates to great endings from small beginnings, Something i picked up while playing a game.

Hi, I would like to try this.
Will it be OK to flash on SM-960F?
Can u please let me know the specific version of TWRP to flash?
So, root is optional? If I choose not to flash Magisk, I will stay without root? It is important for some of my Apps.
Which camera is included? Is it fully functional without bugs?
Will the S-pen feature work?
This being pixel ROM, will I get unlimited storage on Google photos?

Yes, you'll be okay to flash on SM-N960F
Any TWRP version is okay!
Magisk root is optional, you'll fine even not root!
Stock AOSP Camera is included! I recommend GCAM GO, which is better for you!
S-Pen will work, but S-Pen Menu and Air Commands will not.
Nope, Google Photos won't unlimited if you not root. You will need Magisk to flash gphotos module to get unlimited storage on Google Photos!
Hi Chef,
Just want to ask about updates, will this rom be maintained with future updates, or is it just one shot only?
This is not about update ETA, but more about how long this rom will live.
Thanks.

so if you come from Noble ROM, you will have to flash stock Android 10 Vendor first, then HavocOS! Because Noble ROM vendor will always stuck on bootanimation on AOSP!
Thank you for that, is there a place I can get the stock vendor other than sammobile?

Hi everyone. Please help. I'm trying to flash this rom but when finished, it reboots and goes into download mode directly. It's like its not seeing anything and just go straight into download mode. I have also tried different roms, the same happens. What am I doing wrong? I did flash latest stock but the same happens. What am I doing wrong? I have asked on the noble rom page as well and I'm just so desperate to get this working and I must be doing something small wrong. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying. I came from stock firmware. So yesterday, I flashed stock again, and then flashed havoc, and still straight into download mode. I have the N960F.
I got it right. Used the firmware that you had on here. Thanks so much for the help. Setting up the rom now. Looks great already!

Oops! I'm stuck with the same problem.
I came from stock firmware and have wiped the stock vendor .
My device goes automatically into download mode after reboot and sticks to it.
I have N960F(crownlte).
So do I need to flash the vendor from the
Mega link you gave above?
#######sorry for my bad english#######
