A magnetic mount-friendly case? - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Accessories

Can anyone recommend me a magnetic mount-capable case that still allows for wireless charging, plz?
I previously had the Galaxy S7 edge and I loved that without a case, it allowed for qi charging but could still be mounted magnetically. Anyone know of any cases like this for the Mix3--maybe with a builtin metal plate that does not overlap over the wireless charging area?
Thanks!

It's not the answer to your question, but I tried it
I bought a magnet holder with Qi. The holder is a thin, large ring, which sticks to the case
Neither has the magnetic force sufficed to keep you relatively heavy Mix 3, nor has the wireless charge worked. My case is about 0.3mm thick. I sent everything back and bought a Qi charger. The weight pulls on both sides brackets that hold the mix 3 safely.
And the bracket also supports 10 watts of charge.

Oh! I didn't consider the weight but you make a good point. The mix3 is substantially heavier and magnetic mounting will probably be an issue.
I came across this case:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sli...r-Bank-Battery-Charging-Case/32957408759.html
It comes with an external power bank that affixes to the case magnetically. I figured I could use that feature to mount the phone to a magnetic car mount. But given your point about the weight, and because I don't really know about the polarity of the magnets on the case, I think your solution will probably work better.
Thanks

Also is 5v charger. Might be slower compared to 10v.

Windshield Mount?

I've searched high and low, and cannot find a factory windshield mount. Does anyone know if there is such a thing?
Nothing out yet. I have been looking as well. Universal ones are probably the best bet for right now.

this is something I miss from my older phones. I have had bad luck with my samsung devices since my thunderbolt/DroidX. I miss the days of old where I would walk in to pick up my pre-ordered phone and there would be car mounts, cases, and myriad of other accessories available the same day. =( I must be grumpy today all I seem to be doing is complaining. I like the concept, but with non form fitting to specific model of phone I would hate to have that thing slip out and nail me in the face while I am going through a tough spot in the mountains. I saw this one but I was worried about the pressure it would be putting on the phones internals.

True, you make a good point. Although it's tougher to get a phone specific holder if you use a case. The location is changeable, an option under that case is for a vent mount. Which may suit you better. All about what the user wants. I thought this one was pretty cool, probably won't buy it because I just put my phone in my cup holder if I'm using it for GPS.

Both
I love that charger, but hard to stomach $50 for the mount and $40 for the charger as current rates go. Seems like no one makes a mount I can attach to the windshield properly with the G3 that doesn't shake constantly. I'd rather not use works charging in the vehicle anyway due to its much lower amperage and greater generation of heat.
I'm picking up a pretty low cost vent mount, will see how that works. I have horizontal vents, good spacing, so the odds are good.
I picked up parts for a ram mount x-grip style windshield mount on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005KWPJ04/
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C7B2NV4
Cost was under $43 shipped. Hoping it will be super stable.
Also have an Smart Fit2 mount on the way it seems from winning an eBay auction that fits the WCP-300 wireless charger in it. I'll probably be reselling that when it arrives.
Edit: parts arrived, easy assembly. Super stable as hoped. Hardest part is that it takes me two hands to put the phone in the mount with the X-grip, one to pull the spring clamps open and one to insert your phone with.
Well, it's not factory, but I have this one, on the way.

Who knows, maybe this will be the one that keeps me from having to buy future mounts, as I change phones.

Qi powered N6 alarm clock

I've been looking for a Qi charger that I could use in an alarm clock configuration with my N6. The Gripzila, the Choe Charger, and a non-slip mat like this one do the trick.
Here's how it works:
1. Put the mat on your nightstand.
2. Clip the Gripzila to the Choe charger so that the Choe is held almost but not quite in a vertical landscape configuration.
3. Put the Choe/Gripzila on the mat.
4. Lean the N6 against the Choe.
Works very well.
I've also ordered a sheet of suction cup tape that I intend to put on the Choe to see if I can eliminate the non-slip mat and maybe even the Gripzila. I'll report back.
For a lot less trouble I just use a tilted Qi charger like the itian, nillkin, Google N4 charger, or the Tylt. Why go thru all that?
Or you could just use this. Dropped from $100 down to $25.

I think that I would take that US$100 price tag with a very large grain of salt. Even at US$25 it looks overpriced compared with similar items on eBay.
Or you could use a free app like DockClock... And if you are too lazy to turn it on, like me, use an NFC tag in or nearby your charger.

Wireless charger advice

I've just bought a G3 from simply electronics:
http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=24183&sd=specs
I am in the UK and wanted to get a wireless charging stand but I'm not sure if the wireless charging works but of the box. It may be the handset is not the UK model and it clearly states wireless charging supported however I've seen some advice and that an adapter is required in some instances.
I fancy this model:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QI-Wirele...295056?hash=item5d50f69210:g:GeAAAOSwrklVdPGm
But this details an adapter is required, can anyone advise?
Thanks.
My first wireless charger was this type and I adise do not buy it.
Terrible cheap junk.

However, my next wireless charger was another cheapo, but works MUCH better, which is this one:

I bought this cheep round wireles charger to. But it IS NOT working well. Every few seconds it is discoonect and reconnect charging, and newer charge my battery to 100%. So don't buy this little rounded chargers.
Save yourself a load of ballache and just buy the official charge stand. I have it and it works flawlessly. I also bought a flat one like the one above, which is ok for the bedside table...
I have the official charge stand. It charges in more time than the conventional one and it isn't more practical. The time it takes to insert a charge pin in the phone is exactly the same as placing it on the stand.
For me, it was money wasted.
Many thanks for the good advice folks, much appreciated.
Yeah man original Stand Wireless Charger is awesome ! highly recommending
Does anyone know if the original wireless charger will work if the phone is equipped with a thick cover "Unicorn Beetle Pro" ?

I had the same experience. The flat ones in a post above are pretty good but the official LG one is excellent!
Well, the charging stand I bought from eBay didn't work, it was doing the disconnect/reconnect every few seconds that a few folks have noted seems to happen to the cheaper knock off wireless chargers, full refund from eBay and I've bought a LG one that works flawlessly. Lesson learnt.
The phone in my case (Unicorn Beetle Pro) is a little thicker, anyone knows whether the original wireless charger will fit and phone will not fall?

Difficult to tell, I read somewhere than up to 5mm thick case and it will still work, I bought a 3mm one and its fine

The original charger has quite a pronounced lip on it so you should be OK regarding the phone falling off but the thickness could affect transfer rate and alignment.
I've just done a little test padding mine out by about 10mm at the bottom and 5mm on the back and it still connects so I'd say worth a shot.
Other than original LG wireless charger. Is there an other charger that can be recommended?
I'm using the choetech t511 works consistently with no problem

Nice. Thank you.

Appreciate the link.
Case with Pen Holder
Received my Momax case with pen holder. First thoughts:
1. Just a bit over 1 cm wider, so some shirt pockets will not hold the phone. We'll see about sports coats and suits.
2. Doesn't seem to have much in the way of magnets to keep the case closed.
3. Does turn on the screen when opened and off when closed.
4. Has the same information on the cover window as other cases with windows.
5. And, finally, holds the M-Pen securely and makes it easily accessible (in some ways easier than the Galaxy Note 8.
I'm leaving on the 14th for a consulting gig in which I'll use the 20 X extensively for taking notes. That will tell the tale for me as note-taking is my main use-case for getting this phone and relegating my Note 8 to a backup.

I paid right around $30US for mine. Should be here tomorrow. I'm anxious to get it and curious as to how much I'll like it.
I have yet to see any alternatives. Wish there were more.
Just got my Momax case today.
Observations:
The build quality is pretty good. The actual case part for the phone is very snug. The pen fits in very securely too.
I don't like the flap cover though. It does not magnetically stay closed and it feels kind of cheap. I'm actually thinking about using a razor blade to cut it off and just use the case as a normal case. I'm thinking I can glue the back sides together. Don't know yet.
I guess I'll give it a few days using the case as is for now.
Edit: I ended up cutting the front flap off and hot gluing the back flap down on the back of the case.

I've never been a fan of flip cover cases. The cover always gets in my way, especially with larger phones.
So far, I'm really liking the case without the cover. I wish it had a little bit more grip to it though.

Cycling mount/case

Does anyone have a good mount that they use that accepts the larger size of the Mate 20 Pro?
I am a road cyclist, so need something reasonably light + sturdy.
Hi, I've been using this. It is for 5.5", but it fits M20Pro just fine. Really great and durable. I don't have to be afraid of breaking some of its parts. I used to use some plastic holder and it breaks over some time. This is much more reliable.

Don't you ever worry it might not grip the phone enough? Going at speed a phone falling is generally a phone death sentence
maybe i'm late for the party but i highly suggest X-grip from ram mounts.
That's what i have in my motorcycle and even with a lot of offroading he never felt or got damage.
I can highly recommend GUB G-85 or G-81. It's cheap and really good.
I went to a bicycle shop and got a generic one. My buddy has rem mounts on his motorcycle and he highly recommends it.
