Does Xperia 10 Plus's 3.5mm supports NC750? - Sony Xperia 10 Plus Questions & Answers

As a old xperia fan, I am wondering if the Xperia 10 plus supports old xperia's noise canceling earbuds. If they do, I am definitely buying one! Please help!

Just tried, unfortunately, no.

Bought In Ears, not working with Mini Pro

Hello,
I just bought some Klipsch S4a, made for android. I tried them with my Xperia Mini Pro, but they're not working with it. On my PC they work fine.
The speaker of the phone is still doing the sound, and my new klipsch s4a are just making some roaring noises.
I'm running cyanogenmod 7.2 fxp109.
What could be the problem here? It's awful that they are not working. I've never had such a problem.

Some headphones does not support 2011 rang of xperia mobiles beacause they have different type of 3.5 mm jack..now 2012 xperia range have different size of 3.5 mm jack with respect to 2011 range.. so 2011 range headphone will not support 2012 range mobiles.. I think you get it.

Hello arcatarc, don't think it is rooted. I have GB and unlocked. Does the phone need to be in ICS (version?) to unistalling/deleting unsupportedheadset.apk? Can just in GB doing that?
Thank you.

Good Question, A guy who thought just like me... But, I searched over internet to findout whats wrong with sony earphones.
The reason is, Earphones are categorized into 2 types. When u look at earphone pin, there will be 4 slots. 3 for sterio audio and one for Mike.
The difference between these two earphones are, Mike and one of the sterio slots are interchanged. ie,
For say, for samsung, slot1: Sterio Left, slot2: Stero Midde, Slot3: Sterio Right, Slot4: Mike
In our sony, Slot1: Sterio Left, Slot2: Sterio Middle Slot3: Mike Slot4: Sterio Right.
You can see changes in Slot 3 and 4. So, there is a mismatch in design, so, eventhough u can insert other earphones, they dont work. But, CONNECTIONING those earphones LOOSELY might work sometimes.
Hope it is clear now. And yes, SONY, NOKIA follow same design. Their earphones are compatable to each other
FM not working in my ro
I search this forum and root my sony phone. I am going to do apk.
So it is the pin order different. srihari210 thanks for your great information. I am curious to try apk. I use esfileexplorer to explore apk I only see unsupportedheadsetnotification.apk, not unsupportedheadset.apk.
Is that the same one? unsupportedheadsetnotification.apk looks like only a notification screen. I remove it. some earphone still nt work. any suggestion?

I would think so yes.
- USB OTG = Wireless bluetooth mouse and keyboard
- MHL (5 pin) = Monitor

[Q] Xperia Z2 Doesn't work with Apple Earpods

Hello Guys!
I Want to change my Galaxy S4 4G into new Xperia Z2, and today I went at Store to test and use Z2. I have an Apple Earpods, that came with iPhone 5/5S, and I use in my Galaxy S4, because I don't like Ear-In Pods.
So, I test Z2 in the store with my Apple earpods and doesn't work. I Tried with Galaxy S4 earpods and works fine.
I Searched on Internet about this issue and found people with the same issue, but on Xperia Z1 with Android 4.4.2 (on 4.1.2 worked fine, and stoped after update. Not just Apple Earpods, but Dr. Dre and others). After this, I tried in Z1 and doesn't work either.
Does anyone use Z2 with Apple earpods and they work fine? I don't see any cause for this problem.
I Don't found other people talking about this em Z2, only in Z1. I Like my Apple Earpods, and I don't want to change my earpods.
Anyone knows if the last system update fix this issue? I Really want to change for Z2, but without this earpod issue.
Please, anyone can help me?
Thanks for all attention, and sorry if have any English mistake.

Hi!! Thanks for your answer.
I Tried in Xperia M2 and works fine. Does M2 have 5pin two, or just 3? Do you know that? I Tested with Galaxy S4 earpods in Z2 and him works fine as well.
I Don't like Ear-In pods, so, I'm starting to give up my S4 upgrade because of pods,I like so much my Apple earpods.

Xperia Z2 is the only Device To have a 5 pin audio port that ive seen (correct to ebay +that of which apear not to be fake) (some fluxrm audio crap suposedly providing 5.2 full surround)
Sonys Noise Canceling Earphones are the only noise canceling headphones of this type for a phone

no such thing exists yet i do believe
edit they do exist saw some on some electronics site, not sure if its fake or what, site is located in india, tamil naddu
note to all
anyway ive found out that apple earphones not working is actualy caused by a lack of listed device types (something to do with some configs n stuff in /etc) < i think i saw some samsung mods to add compatability
(would be nice for Xperia Z2, i found my Old Xperia Headphones dont work yet they are xperia)
By default (I think) the sound settings are set to the Sony noise cancelling headphones. Try changing the settings in Settings/Sound/Accessories.

edit- lol just realised there is missing text, exuse my typo
edit2- found plenty of 5 conductor audio devices (profetional use apears)
edit3-Seems Noise Canceling headsets Like Xperia Z2 NC are not so hard to find

This problem is so strange, when I went to store last weekend, I didn't know about function of NC headset, and now I need to wait my Z2 arrive. I hope that Z2 Brazillian antenna adapter might be a ''solution'' and my Apple earpods.

Guys, I have some news!!
I bought my Xperia Z2 in Sony Store here in Brazil and last friday Sony has delivered my Z2. I thought I wouldn't like Xperia, but I've liked so much!! But, let's talk about earpods!!
My Apple Earpods doesn't worked, like I expected, and I used the original inbox earpods for one day. Last month I bought a new Apple Earpods, because my has broken the mic, and he was delivered last week as well. So, I opened the new earpods and I tried on Z2 and he worked! It's so strange, but the new earpods worked!!
Might be the differences between broken mic, I don't know, but now i'm using my new Apple earpods usually, even after update .314.
I Will buy STH30 in USA as well, might be that I Will use him!
I Now, this is so strange, about the Apple earpods, but now I'm so happy with my Apple earpods has worked!!

The old Xperia devices (Xperia 2011 product line) used to have a diffrent audio jack standards (something with ctia), so they only work with the 2011 Xperia handsets.
My apple earpods work flawless with my Z2, but only the mic and the media button works (thats a normal because the 3 button headphones are apple exclusive because of some stupid apple patents).
im having this issue also on my xperia z1. i have an apple earphone from iphone6 but the right earphone doesn't work.
Maybe it's just my case, but I've got problem when the mini jack on headphones is too small (maybe 0,2mm thinner). I tested my phone with several headphones in the store and each time the jack was too thin it wouldn't work. Maybe that's the case with apples headphones too.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Luckily not from an iPhone = Yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices
my apple earbuds work fine in my Xperia Z2 for listening only. when I take a phone call, the mic remains muted. i looked into it and got the 3-pin adapter (apple and most android 3-pin config is different). but on using that I get a message 'this headset is not compatible'. So unless there is a 5 pin to apple adapter I don't think this is possible.

Xperia Z5 with MDR-NC31EM compatibility?

Hey guys,
Just recently purchased the Xperia Z5 Premium. I found that Sony makes noise canceling earphones for the Z5's (MDR-NC750) but they're a bit pricey and hard to find. Until they become more readily available (at least in the US), I was wondering if any of you Z5 owners have been able to use the Z2/Z3 noise canceling earphones (MDR-NC31EM) with the Z5?
There was a thread in the Z3 forums where someone asked a similar question but for compatibility of the MDR-NC750's on the Z3.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/accessories/mdr-nc750-z3-z3-compact-t3195608
It looks like the Z5 has the same 5-pole input support like the Z2/Z3 so just wondering if any of the new Z5 owners used their older MDR-NC31EM earphones.
Any input would be appreciated!

Those noise-cancelling headphones aren't Z3-exclusive.

Sony Mobile's website only listed the Z2/Z3/Z3 compact as the three compatible devices with the earphones...didn't want to go purchasing something that wouldn't work with the Z5. They probably aren't Z3-exclusive but wanted to confirm with someone first.
