Amazon Prime Video will not screencast to TV - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Themes, Apps, and Mods

I can screencast movies, BBC iPlayer etc to my TV using a Microsoft Display Adaper OK. But Amazon Prime Video will not screencast from the M20 Pro. I can also screencast Amazon Prime Video from a Samsung tablet and my laptop but not from my new M20 Pro.
Huawei Support could only suggest it was a fault with the app and to contact the app developers.
Can anyone offer some help please?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I first used a Chromecast but my internet is unreliable and whilst watching a movie the connection would drop 5 or 6 times so I started using the Microsoft Display Adapter which works directly from device to device without using a router. And I’ve had very few connection problems with it except that Samsung devices using Android higher than version 4 will not screencast.
Thanks
John

Stream movies from Phone to Samsung TV wireless? (How to)

Hi guys, just bought a Samsung smart TV and I wanted to know if and how could I stream movies from my phone to the TV Wireless.
I'm currently running Cm9. If there is an app required can someone upload it please.. thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You need all share to stream stuff on your smart tv. I don't know if all share works with CM9 though. All share is included in the stock Rom, so maybe if you ask somebody he/she will extract it for you do you can try it on CM9
it works on stock
Dont know about CM9, but with the stock rom, you just need to make sure your TV and Phone are connected to the same wifi and then you play your file on your phone. A symbol at the top of the stock player shows a 'choose your player' dialogues and then you choose your TV. Its starts playing either instantly or with a prompt on your tv, depending on your tv setup. I have mine set to auto accept. Works with photos and videos. I have tried with 1080p movies and it works without a problem.
Tv is LG LM670T. 3d smart. its gorgeous
I think most recently manufactured tv hs dlna.
Just search your tv model on Internet then you should be able to find out.
If so, then download bubbleupnp app from play store. You can either set up another server on your computer, which I do, using plex server, which you can download for free for your pc. Or you can use your phone as the server as well.
You can control all the streaming from your pc to your tv or phone to tv right from the bubbleupnp app. Very cool. If you install the extra bubbleupnp server on your computer, you can even stream remotely. Very easy to set up and very cool. Real cool.

If I understand well, you have two options: (1) stock Samsung rom and AllShare Cast (it needs Samsung framework, hence CM will not work) or (2) use DLNA (check if your TV supports it, but I guess so) and one of the apps mentioned above (which will also work in CM as it should support DLNA).

[Q] BBC iplayer app

Hi all
I have an Archos G9 running stock ICS 4.0.4 (Android 4.0.3). I have installed the BBC iplalyer app and can watch videos from the BBC iplayer website so there is no problem with Flash etc.
The problem I have is when I launch the app it doesn't run the app instead it takes me to the BBC iplayer website(I cannot post the url) . This is not whatI want as you can not stream live tv from this site.
I have done the obvious, reinstalled the app, cleared internet cahes etc, even contacted the BBC, and of course seached the net.
So two questions; the first is can anyone use the app on an Archos G9 and if so what do I need to do.
It is very annoying as my 7 inch resistive tablet running Andoid 2.3 works fine with the app
Thanks in advance
Nothing you can do.
New version of iPlayer app coming soon; hopefully it will allow us to stream.
BTW I can stream from the site : have you installed their new Media Player plugin?

Hi
Thanks for rapid response
Yes I have the Media Player app too and I can watch programmes from the website so if I go to say yesterday and select "The Paradise" that was broadcast at 9.00pm it will play fine
What I cannot find on the mobile iplayer website is where to stream live TV shows, if you can do so could you explain how
Also, if you have the iplayer app, does it also take you to the mobile iplayer website
Thanks
Yes the iplayer app just opens my browser to the iplayer website so I uninstalled it and use a shortcut instead.
Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the OP so missed your request for live streaming.
For streaming live TV; search Google Play for "filmon"
Use either 'Filmon online TV' or 'FilmonX'; I can't tell the difference between them.

Hi
Thanks for this, at least I am pleased it is not just me !!
I have installed Filmon onlineTV and it does just just I want, in fact as it does so many channels it is even better
Thanks again:good:
And I just installed the long-awaited new version of the iPlayer app :
Features include:
- Watch live TV
- Listen to live radio
- Watch or listen over Wi-Fi and 3G networks
- Scroll through and find Featured and Most Popular programmes
- Add programmes to your favourites and have them ready and waiting when a new episode or series is available
- Browse through the schedule for upcoming programmes
And yet for me, the app still only serves as a shortcut to bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer
Sad.
Yep I was disappointed as well - just got a 23" touchscreen running with a small android box (Minix Neo X5) to go in the kitchen to do all sorts.
BBC site claims they have issues with screens bigger than 7" (or I guess higher resolutions) that they hope to fix. Not sure what problems they are but maybe someday!!
Anyone know of a side load us in north America can download this. I would love to have this for top gear. Do you Need a BBC account?

There's no point Steve, all this 'app' does on the G9 and G10 Archos is opens your browser at http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/

[APP] imediashare - shoot anything HD to your TV nicer than airplay.

Hey Guys, heres the deal, I own the following.
Galaxy Nexus x2
Nexus 10
Ipad 2.
hanging out at your house with a bunch of people having beers and want to show everyone some cool video you found?
Well guess what, No one wants to stare are your stupid phone or tablet! Nobody cares.
However, Beam it to your sweet tv set and everyone will check it out.
I own a Boxee box and a WD tv live + these stream all my content and are dlna capable, etc..
With my Ipad If I want to shoot a youtube video to the boxee box connected to my I just hit the airplay button. This is seemless and fast.
However it does NOT do HD.
On Android you cant do this manually. BOO!
This is until I found imediashare. This app finds any capable device on your local wifi network. Smart TV's Boxee box - xbmc, etc etc.
Go to youtube app, start a video, hit share - imediashare icon. BOOM, goes right to your tv set.
The best part in all this is that it will beam HD, I tested by beaming the new Lincoln movie trailer,
started the video hit share, and my boxee kicked the tv display to 1080p and it played Beautifully!.
Check it out its pretty sweet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDYsImNvbS5iaWFub3IuYW1zcHJlbWl1bSJd
They have a light version too, but i think its nuetered to sd content..
This also shoots any other media on your android device as well.
cool app and no wires needed!.
Cheers!
Great! I'll give it a shot and report back in a while
Thanks I was looking for a good airplay alternative. This might fit the bill nicely.
I've been using Twonky Beam with pretty good success beaming media to my Roku. It is completely free, which is great. Quality looks fantastic although I'm not 100% sure if its full HD. As far as I can tell its just passing on the link to the video stream directly to the Roku and nothing is actually streamed via the phone.
Anyone else have experience with both?

FYI, imediashare is the free app of the day on Amazon today.

What do you use your Nexus 10 for?

Curious to see what other stuff you guys do normally with your tablet.
My uses:
* Work with Office documents with OfficeSuite PRO and Swype keyboard.
* Play old games with emulators. Mainly GBA and GG.
* Download torrents, watch TV shows and download YouTube videos (like reviews of new android phones).
* Tapatalk for forums like this one.
* Pocket to download articles and read them offline later.
* Connect to my NAS and upload files.
That's it mainly, plus the usual stuff like reading my RSS feeds every morning, etc. I actually do little web browsing, because in portrait and landscape it's not the ideal format for it.

All above plus pokerstars, Skype, and a lifesaver when traveling.
Found a great pc torrent managing app.

This! Coming from a Galaxy Tab 10.1, comics in the comixology app and kindle ebooks are the two uses where I've noticed most improvement from the high resolution screen on the Nexus 10.
Mine is rooted and loaded with CM10.1
I use it as my laptop replacement for "couch computing".
Mainly,
Facebook
Twitter
Website surfing/online shopping
Google Currents
Netflix (connected hdmi to the tv or by itself in bed)
Office documents with kinsoft office app
my bible
note taking with evernote
my song chords and lyrics with evernote (soon to be onsong if they ever get to android...)
Gaming, Nova 3, Modern Combat 4, Shadowgun and the online shadowgun deadzone. (I have a playstation 3 controller and use the sixaxis app)
Also use stickmount and a usb hub to transfer video and pictures from my camera to ext harddrive in the field
AOKP.
Web browsing. AOSP
Streaming movies from PC. Dice player
Games: Simpsons tapped out/ wwf/ruzzle/Angry birds/cut the rope
Pretty much it.

My TV isn't getting audio via the microHDMI to HDMI cable. Should I be using the headphone output too, or do you think my cable and/or TV is at fault?

So its either my cheap 24" Westinghouse TV or my cheap $2.99 cable. Thanks o7
Sadly my main use is for documents, especially pdfs.
When I'm not working with it, I'm messing with the roms and kernels.

The HDMI specification implementation varies greatly between TV manufacturers thus causing incompatibilities including no picture, no sound and device not recognized at all. The price of the TV does not matter. From experience HDMI connections to Panasonic are the worse and Samsung is much better. Rarely is it a cable issue completel indepenant of its cost.
Check out other forum threads on HDMI issues and you will see the trends for yourself.

[Q] Can I connect my Z2 to a TV using WiFi?

Hello.
Can I get more out of my devices by connecting them together by WiFi?
The TV is a 60inch Sharp LC-60.
The Aquos Net+ has WiFi and is able to connect to a PC using a home server option.
Can I not just connect my phone to my TV using WiFi?
Not sure if this helps but the Z2 supports miracast. If you TV supports miracast then you can mirror your phone to your TV.
you can, I'm using this everyday. Well you can if your TV supports DLNA.
I'm casting almost everything from my phone to the TV with the app AllCast.
Also, if you have a Chromecast you can cast youtube and spotify from your phone.

Chromecast support screen mirroring now.
http://chrome.blogspot.com/2014/07/mirror-your-android-screen-to-tv-with.html
Yes, but not yet on Xperia...
Edit: in fact it works with a hack found here on this forum!!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/hardware-hacking/chromecast/experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193
And it works great!!!
