when its safe first tap the notification then you can use google assistant whilst dri - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Previously (and I haven't used it in a while), when I held the voice button in my car, I could use voice commands to my phone. Now whenever I try i get the "when its safe first tap the notification then you can use google assistant whilst driving"
The thing is, I don't want to have google assistant running all the time. Is there any way to have it work without turning on google assistant and all the crap that that brings?

[Q] Stop Vlingo, restore Google double click?

I've used Titanium to freeze Voice Command, which I take to be Vlingo. At least, that has had the desired effect of not opening Samsung Vlingo upon double clicking the home button.
Now, how do I reinstate Google's intended double click action? That is, opening its own voice recognition prompt?

Move ENTIRE maps route to navigation on the phone

sometimes I plot a very specific route I want to take with multiple stops in google maps.
I want to send this to my phone. ENMASS ie I want to open navigation and have it guide me through MY EDITED ROUTE
how do I do this?
I found I can send a google maps link to my phone and it will open it relatively intact in google maps on the phone but when I goto navigation for turn by turn it completely ignores everything except A and B routes the way it did if I simply asked to go their and ignores waypoints past B
suggestions?

Anyway to convince Android that Voice Search is a Voice Control App?

Hello,
I just got the new Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS which has the App Radio functions built in. I have bought ArLiberator and now have full control over my android device. Awesome. One great feature of the AVH-X8500BHS is if you hold down the "home" button on the radio it launches voice control. What this does is open a screen on the radio and then activate the default voice control app on the smartphone.
However, Android is only listing three options to take voice commands: One is Google Search which doesnt even show up in my app list. Instead I want to be able to open Voice Search which opens a Google Now app that actively waits for input.
Is there anyway to tell google to classify Google Voice Search as one of the apps that can be opened?
Anyone have any idea?

Disabling spoken result from a Google voice search

This is driving me crazy.
If I do a new voice activated search in chrome the result is spoken/read out aloud on the phone.
I have tried the settings option in the Google app, gone to “ voice” and changed to hands free only (the only other option is “on”).
But if I open a new chrome window or tab. Then use my voice to search Google the result is still read out as a summary.
I just want to be able to use my voice to activate the search but have the results returned as normal as text.

Did Google change something with its Assistant? It's ignoring region settings now

So for the longest time I've had my phone (and both Google home devices and my Chromecast) set up with language and region as English(UK). The assistant speaks in a really nice, natural British accent and it's a good, personal way to get information about my day.
But all of a sudden Google seems to be ignoring region settings, and the voice is this shrill, nasally American thing that's just irritating to listen to. I've gone through all my Google settings in both Chrome, the Google Home app and my phone and everything is set to English(UK). If I reset the Google Home, before it connects to the internet it's got the right voice. But once Google talks to the devices, back comes the nasally voice.
The weird thing is that some settings still have the British accent, such as when it's reading something off the web.
Anyone know what Google did that breaks my Assistant?
I thought about it being an App update, and I don't think so- I uninstalled updates to the Google App to see if that would change anything (to roll it back) and it didn't.
