Remap the bixby button with a mute/umute toggle. - Samsung Galaxy S10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I made an app that simply mutes and un-mutes your phone. A thing that I wish my S10+ had was a harware switch to turn the phone to silent like on iPhones. So I remapped the bixby button to this handy tool! Here is the APK to download it and I hope you like it! At the moment because I'm new I can't post links because xda so replace "(dot)" with "." and "(colon") as ":" and "(slash)" as "/" https(colon)(slash)(slash)www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/file/7drg6xftbo7j4cb/muter.apk/file
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind of not trusting this ****
You register on xda and the first thing you do is posting your app. Atleast post some screenshots.

It doesn't have any screenshots. You open the app and it mutes / un mutes the phone. I can show you the source if you want.
Not at PC atm so cant post source but even if you download a virus will have to ask for perms so try. All it needs is do not disturb

Not necessarily. bxActions is missing this option.
Currently it does:
Activate Vibrate
Activate Sound
Switch to Sound then Vibrate
Switch to Sound then Vibrate then Silent
Activate Silent
It's missing "Switch between Sound and Mute"
It's also missing "Switch between Sound and Vibrate"

you require widgetsoid for this..
widgetsoid's notification direct multitouch toggle power widget does not work on the atrix. I tried it and also tried "notification toggle" too. Same thing, instead of toggling directly from the pull down, it opens up another box on the home screen that u have to select. Ive been trying to find an answer as to why it wont work and I keep getting that "your system might not support, "multiclick notification". I dont know. Anyone wiser have any insight?

Power Control Plus will add a customizable power control widget to your notification bar no mods needed.
Moved .
When your using notification widget when you drag your menu down are you able to have for example 4 toggles in one single row and each control them directly by clicking on each one? Whenever I do this and try clicking on a toggle it just opens up another box in the home screen and then I can toggle from there. It does not directly toggle from my one line of 4 toggles . This is the same issue with widgetsoid too. I have tried this stock and rooted and with all combinations of Ginger blur and gladattix. Still the same issue .

[APP] Vibrate App

Does anyone know if an App exists that changes the volume setting to vibrate? I'm not asking for a toggle widget, I want an actual app. The reason is I'd like to be able to set my phone to vibrate from the Sense 3.0 lock screen and it doesn't allow me to install a widget. Ideally, I'd also like to have it lock the phone again after it has changed the volume setting.
UPDATE: I decided to make my own app that did this. The app will toggle the sound profile between normal and vibrate. You can launch it from the lock screen or anywhere else. I've attached it to this post. Please be easy on me as it's my first ever Android app.

Neither of those are what I'm looking for. I want an app that acts like a widget. All that the app would do is change the sound profile.

I started down that path, but I opted to let it unlock the phone. The reason is that you have to press the power button to turn on the screen anyway. When I want to quickly turn on vibrate, I hold the phone with my right hand on the power, use my left to unlock with vibrate, then just power off the phone with my right hand. Make sense?
If you ask nicely, maybe I'll make you a new version that locks the screen
Great job, great app....thanks
So I'm having trouble finding a good way to lock the screen from my application. It seems as though only system apps have direct access to lock the screen. So far I've tried the following with no success:
Code:
KeyguardManager keyguardManager = (KeyguardManager) getSystemService(Activity.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
KeyguardLock lock = keyguardManager.newKeyguardLock(KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
lock.disableKeyguard();
and
Code:
PowerManager manager = (PowerManager) getSystemService(Activity.POWER_SERVICE);
manager.goToSleep(0);
Any suggestions?

For grouping apps I'm using Nova Prime launcher and you can create different launcher tabs for what ever you like.
I believe the camera tone issue is legally motivated, in some places it is illegal to de-activate the camera sound I believe so I think this is why you can't turn it off from the settings, if you flash a custom ROM there is usually an option to turn it off (with a warning) but on stock ROMS usually not.
Hope that helps,
R.

I also rooted my phone yesterday but I couldn't find anything to disable the camera tone. I guess l'm gonna have to install another launcher and see if sorts out.

I haven't (yet) rooted my phone, but I can take "shutter sound" away. You need to tick your volume rocker to minimize system sounds to silent. Then you can take pictures without shutter tone. Just remember put vol back up after.

[7.1-12] Physical Button Master Control 4.4

Hi
I am presenting you here a Xposed module allowing you to take full control over the keys in your device!
When the screen is off/locked/on this module allows you to:
- send media play signals
- send media next/previous signals
- send volume up/down signals
- launch app shortcut actions
- simulate key presses
...with any buttons your phone might have!
And also:
- Disable original button functions
- Send a play signal when devices get plugged in
- Send signals only when selected devices are plugged in
- Set music volume when play signals are sent
- Set a media player to send the signals to
- Launch the selected player before sending signals
Features can be greatly customized to suit all possible needs!
Compatible with all Android versions from 7.1 to 12.
Download: Physical Button Master Control on Xposed Module Repository
If you found this mod useful consider donating me a coffee, this will help me code ^^
If you want to help other people see this app in your language, feel free to contribute on CrowdIn:

How to report problems efficiently?
- Enable the 'Debug log' in PBMC settings
- Use PBMC functions that don't work as intended
- Export the logs from Xposed app and put them on PasteBin
- Post here/send me the link along with more information about your device

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Simply doesn't work?
A: Make sure your device is rooted, Xposed Installer is installed, and PBMC is enabled within the module menu of Xposed. After this, reboot. If it still doesn't work proceed to next steps (such as posting debug logs).
Q: I just installed PBMC and I found out that my home/recents/back/power button cannot be mapped. Fix?
A: You need to reboot first. With the module active, all buttons will work.
Q: Can I use this module to disable original button functions?
A: Yes, you can do this by setting the 'Do nothing' action on a mapping.
In example, to prevent volume up button from increasing the volume, set it's 'Single press' action to 'Do nothing'.
Q: How can I disable vibrations?
A: When you add an action, you can move the "Use vibration" slider to 0ms. It's as simple as that.
Q: I used the option to hide the app from the launcher, how can I open it now?
A: Go to the Xposed Installer -> Modules -> click on the PBMC module to open it.
Q: I have set a single-press action to my home/power button. How can I wake the device up now?
A: It's quite simple, any unmodified action will act as the original button function. Double-press or hold, depending on which ones have you not set.
Q: My media player is starting delayed using PBMC, why is that happening and what can I do?
A: It's because of the OOM killer most of the times, it's a mechanism in Android that kills unactive apps.
You see, when the receiver app is already active, it handles signals instantly.
But, when it has to be started (media players can get killed when it isn't playing anymore), it can take longer, depending on available RAM and amount of tasks running in the background.
So, what can you do? There are ways of protecting apps from getting killed by OOM killer. You could also limit the number of tasks running in the background (to make sure there is some RAM free).
Q: I have a problem that isn't listed here. What do I do?
A: You can use the 'Feature Requests' and 'Bug Reports' sections on top or post your problem on this thread, BUT remember to provide useful information, like: device info, Xposed/LogCat logs, list of other modules, detailed steps to reproduce the problem. Refer to the first post for instructions on getting Xposed logs.
How to report problems efficiently?
- Enable the 'Debug log' in module settings
- Use module functions that don't work as intended

Could you possibly upload or PM me your source code and I will fix the issues pertaining to it not working on certain music apps? I have downloaded and tested and confirm the latest version does NOT work with Pandora. However, i have decompiled the apk and semi-fixed it. I got it to skip tracks but the play pause is happening twice, meaning, it pauses the music, then immediately plays again. If i could get the source code i could easily fix this issue. You can check here with an app i made allowing users to control the music from their notifications and it works across the board. I do know how to make it work
I have written xposed modules, and would hate to start over on ANOTHER volume skip mod. There are like 4 of them lol. So if you would share your source code with me, i will fix it and give it back to you to upload and share. I do not want the "credit" or recognition for this app. Just for making it work on Pandora and other music apps.
Of course, if i do not receive any source code, i will make my own module. Lol.
Thanks man!

Question Seperate Ringer and Notification Volumes

Recently switched from Galaxy S8 to Pixel 6. One of the biggest differences is not having separate volume sliders for ringer and notifications. I've had to resort to assigning notification sounds to "None" in order to silence notification sounds with the ringer volume on. Does anybody know a better solution for this issue?

I've been using this for years. Works really well for me. Toggle in settings to separate ringer and notifications.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netroken.android.persistalternate
EDIT: I should mention that sometimes when you get a phone call the notification volume will get reset to the ringer volume. But you can reset by going to the native volume sliders and change the volume and then go back to the app to adjust.

The link doesn't work for me either and there is no "Volume Control +" by Netroken in the Playstore, only an app without the plus sign by him, Volume Control.
Even clicking on his name doesn't bring up any + version, so I'm guessing this must be the correct one?

You can also try the SoundProfile app - definitely allows me to set seperate ringer and notify volume levels on my Pixel 6.
I have actually combined it with Macrodroid to map my Volume Long Press up and down to set to normal and Vibrate mode - without having to interact with the screen - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-silent-or-vibrate-mode.4352081/post-85908539
Or you can just create widgets to select a specific profile..
Oh and Macrodroid itself also allows you to set individual volume levels for Ringer and Notification. I prefer the SoundProfile app - cos that can show a Vibrate icon in the status bar as well - so you can check with profile is active.
EDIT: Just realised that Macrodroid can also show icon in status bar and even on the lock screen.
