Best Modification for Poco - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I bought poco about 4 months ago and I unlocked it today. I used to have MIA1, Yes I explored a lot with that device and did every possible **** I could do with it!
But I have no idea about Poco I just wanted to know-
1. Best Recovery for Poco F1
2. Best custom ROM (Not Miui)
3. Are there treble roms for this device?
I'd appreciate if Poco community helps me with these things. Thank you In advance[emoji173]

1. By asking best recovery I meant was in my previous device there was a separate recovery for regular rom and separate rom for (regular rom+ treble.
2. I like a little to all customization with a good performance rom.

well according to me best recovery would be TWRP by cosmic dan and best ROM would be Liquid Remix.

Pe and oos performs well but lacks customization while crdroid gives best of both worlds

The best rom for this device?

Just unlocked my bootloader, can anyone kindly tell me which is the best rom for this phone? Considering 8+ hours of battery life, lil bit customizations and stable performance.

Do I need to flash any firmware before flashing this rom, I am currently on the nougat build of MIUI 8.7.7.13

MIUI 8.7.7.13 is based on MM? If it's so, flash firmware before installing the Rom. If it's based on nougat, then no need of firmware

It is based on Nougat. Thanks for the replies. Very much appreciated. But, in comparison to Resurrection Remix, is it better?

How strange, this Redmi Note 4X (Mido) is not listed in the Xiaomi device list. How can you have an official ROM?
Of the best ROMs, it's difficult, huh ...
But for me, they are:
Slim Roms
Paranoid
AEX
Ressurrection Remix

Going deep eh, if you want MOAR features go for RR, otherwise LineageOS XXD

Have been using AICP since 18th July and omg that's my longest stay on any particular rom? It's flawless .. Smooth af. What i think is that at this moment most of the roms for Mido have reached a super stable stage.
Global stable Is the best ROM
Enviado desde mi Redmi Note 4 mediante Tapatalk
IMHO CrDroid is the best ROM for this device. It has lots of useful features, the most used customizations, it's updated frequently and has great performance.
I have used that ROM on many devices and it always has worked great, but on the RN4 it really shines.
For me it's Paranoid android. Or rr if you like a lot of features, but for me AOSPA is better.

All custom ROMs on this forum will give you 8+ hours of SOT. If all you need is a "little bit" of customisations, then go for the slimmest ROMs - e.g., SlimROM, or MainstageOS, or this AOSP-CAF ROM, or any number of others. Take your pick!
Thanks to all of you for the replies. Very much thankful and appreciated.

Flash firmware when flashing nougat ROM (eg lineage) while marshmallow ROMs (miui). If you are in miui beta global rom on nougat then no need to flash the firmware

LineageOS & AOSP Extended

will these roms be released for poco??

You can build from the source( LINK ).
You'll need to pick:
https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/project:LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_sdm845-common
https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/project:LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_sdm845
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_beryllium
.. and vendor tree, and fixing the compiling errors.
Los dev is a true dev, not some random build wh0re(xda's full of them).
Patience is virtue.

The kernel they released didn't have anything related to face unlock. So we don't get it in any of the custom roms.

Best OS?

Any bugs? I mean I prefer all options to be working which are working in Miui. I am not talking about the ones which are explicitly for Miui but in general.

This rom solves the screen delay?
In all honesty, everyone is different. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. If you don't mind flashing, I urge you to try a few and see what fits you the best. What's good for one is not always what's good for the other. Personally, I use pixel experience with pix3lfy magisk module... But that's just what I like.
I literally try every single rom I can find for my devices. Each one has its good and bad sides. Sometimes I like using a Pie ROM, sometimes I like MIUI. I'm using Pixel Experience right now, but as soon as the next MIUI from Xiaomi.eu is available I'll be installing that one.
Every person uses their device differently and therefore will have different requirements.
Me, I look for smoothness of operation and long battery life.
Syberia is great, Havoc is good, PE is lovely, MIUI is nearly perfect (for me).
Get comfortable with backing up your data and flashing and try them all!
I flashed Mi-Room 8.12.13, and I can say, this one is the best I tried. Seems snappier than EU and stable/beta. I also tried LOS/PExperience but they seem half-finished...

Yes, but you won't notice any differences. At the moment I'rocking almost 10h SOT which I haven't managed to do since MIUI 9...
I do use Syberia, its great performance over 265k in Antutu and is stable af. I didnt found any single bug and OTA works good.
I would like to test Pixel Experience but im very comfortable with Syberia
I have used almost all custom ROMs available for Poco F1 except crDroid and Mokee. And this is my top 5 choices.
1. Stock miui (8.12.13; Rooted and debloated a few system apps)
2. Miui EU
3. NOS
4. Omni
5. AOSiP
Right now I am using NOS+MicroG+Magisk+Derp Kernel and the combination seems to work for me pretty well. Anyway, this is my personal choice. You may have different experience.

Oxygen OS on Pocophone

I've noticed several videos about a fully functional oxygen os rom that works on poco. I'm planning to use it but before I do i want to know :
Do you get oxygen os updates?
If it doesn't will i have to reinstall a new version every time?
Is it possible to return to miui whenever I want?
If you can live with no fm radio, bad 3.5 mm audio output and dont mind installing an app to toggle between silent/ringing mode then go for it.....its one of the best custom ports for poco.
as for updates i didnt updating but most probably a clean flash is recommended.

1. No, it's a port. Only the dev who ported it will give updates if he wishes so.
2. Yes, indeed.
3. Of course.

The best kernel for OOS (and generally for every ROM imo) is the provided stock kernel but yeah, that Telegram group is really toxic. I never say anything there because they can ban you for everything... Also, don't use custom kernels on OOS because they can break some functionalities.

New to Poco F1, Want help for custom rom and all.

Currently I'm on Miui global 11.0.9 with locked bootloader.
As i bought this as used one, i want better pubg experience, i Search on YouTube and found many were saying curvos rom+ laurn kernel is best for pubg in poco f1.
I just want to know which build of rom and kernal works best..
And any other combination that you using can share here that would help me.

It's Paranoid Android Quartz 5 link is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/paranoid-android-quartz-3-beryllium-t4122991
crDroid is excellent from customization and battery backup POV. I have been exclusively on crDroid for a year now.
Be aware that pubg now Pick's up on potential custom kernel and may block you from uses.....
