Samsung S9 Plus SM-G965U1 (Sprint Unlocked) One UI Update - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hello Everyone,
I have Samsung galaxy S9 SM-G965U1 (Sprint Unlocked variant currenty running on 8.0 Oreo Build.
Its USA Region model but currently being used in Pakistan, I believe thats why I am not getting new One UI update.
Now I want to install the One UI 9.0 Update manually via Odin but I don't know which version to install.
It is currently running on G965U1UEU3ARG7 build, when I checked with Smart Switch it was showing "Software is up to date RG7(XAA)". As per my knowledge I should search Sm-g965u1 on SamMobile and then select Unknown (XAA) in country for the right version of One UI build but I am not sure.
I would appreciate if you guys please check CSC and frimware details and suggest the right version for my Galaxy s9 Plus.
AP: G965U1UEU3ARG7
CP: G965USQU3ARG2
CSC: G965U1OYM3ARG7

Thanks for the response, but in XAA too there are 3-4 frimware, which one should I install considering my device current CSC and Frimware version.
Thanks,

If your using a Sprint phone that is unlocked you can choose the newest one under the Sprint (SPR) filter or the XAA filter. In either case CSD4 is the latest version released
If you look at the firmware using the links below (XAA and SPR filter) the CSC entry you listed s always gonna start along the lines of G965U1OYM for the G965U1 phone. The number after the letter M is going to represent the bootloader version, and that increases to a higher number over time. The final 4 characters are going to be related to the android version.

[Q] Upgrade / Baseband / CSC / Build

Hi all,
My device is branded as O2 and was bought in the UK then unlocked.
Model number
SM-G925F
Baseband
G925FXXU1AOCW
Build number
LRX22G.G925FXXU1AOCV
CSC
G925FTEF1AOC1
I've been an HTC User since the Desire HD, through to One X, One, One M8 then the one M9 which was such a letdown , I just bought an edge.
Here's my question.
My wife got the 6S as her upgrade and she's on 5.1.1 via OTA on a G920F with G920FXXU2BOFJ baseband.
Mine is still on 5.0.2 and it is absolutely infuriating that mine does not have an A-Z sort available in the app drawer, yet of course, hers does!
I have come to the conclusion I need 5.1.1 to get this option, however whenever I prompt OTA or via Samsung application on Windows - it claims I'm up to date.
Here's my question:
Do I absolutely need to wait for a 5.1.1 firmware to become available matching my baseband, build and csc or can i install any carrier free firmware via odin that matches my model number?
Thanks in advance peeps.

You can install any firmware for your specific device, carrier free or for specific supplier, 02 etc. I am in UK and use the latest 5.1.1 BTU firmware.

Thanks for the response. Is my specific device just categorised by the phone itself, galaxy edge? Or only items with the SM-G925F model number?

Change CSC

Hi,
I recently bought a Galaxy S9+ from Dubai and my CSC is XSG.
I'm looking to change the CSC to ZTO once I'm living in Brazil.
I've read many threads here but I couldn't get a conclusive answer, is it possible to change the CSC on Galaxy S9?
Thanks.

You should have exynos so yes.
Just flash the exynos firmware you want which will give you the desired csc.
Or as an alternative flash a rom which allows you to pick the csc during install

Just flashing a new firmware will not Trip Knox, right?
Do you have any firmware recommendations for me to use?
Thanks =)

Flashing stock firmware in odin will not trip knox.
Go to sammobile.com and put in your model number and all the available firmwares will pop out, find one from Brazil.

You'll be stuck on XSG and will get OTA updates for that.
ZTO is no longer a valid CSC for Exynos models, since in Latin America, Samsung decided to launch the 'SM-G9650' Snapdragon 845 model instead.
like exchanging csc galaxy s9 exynos. Dude I'm having the same problem here my G965f Singapore XSP I live in Brazil I can not get the right carrier version just OXM _XSP.

If you flash the CSC then yes of course it will change lol.
Then you will get OTAs for that particular CSC.
Just make sure you dont try flashing firmware for a snapdragon if you have exynos or vice versa

Hi everyone i have a question. I am from Bangladesh. I am using galaxy s9(SM-G960F). I SEARCHED in sam mobile for the latest firmware for my region which is BNG and found only 2 firmware both of which are from March 18. So i flashed the BRF8 june patch version from German DBT REGION using odin. Still my active csc remains BNG. Now my question is will i recieve future ota updates as usual? If not what should be my next course of action? Thanks in advance.
Will this work for snapdragon variants?

hello if you want to change csc you should flash it by odin and then formate the phone to change it , if only flash csc file it will not change
To change the csc do you need to only flash csc or do you need to flash everything?
Since the 9650 and 965u are practically the same phone just one was shipped to Latin America while other one is international could I flash the 965u on my 9650 to enable Samsung pay / change csc?

Hey,
I have a 965N - meaning s9+ from Korea. I got it there, but know I want to flash a German / European version but CSC needs to be changed because of partition size.
Do I just need to change CSC and partition size will change ?

Need help debranding LG Uplus(LUC) to (KOO)

Hi, I just got Galaxy S9+ and it is bloated with LG Uplus menu and apps. Model version is SM-G965N and when i look for firmware in Sammobile only few firmwares are shown. (KOO, LUC, SKC, KTC)
Can I download KOO firmware and flash with Odin to get rid of carrier bloats and return to stock?
I heard that S9 and S9+ have some problems changing CSC. But if i flash like this, would it be considered changing CSC. Would it work to flash with odin like this?
Is there anyone who knows answer to this?
I also want to do the same thing on my s9 plus. can anyone help please ... thanks

just so i have this straight, youre using a Samsung S9+ on a LG cellular service? thats awesome!! the 965N has the Exynos processor, to the best of my recollection, and you can verify this by installing CPU-Z. If it is, you should be able to flash the G965F firmware on it. I have a S9 that i got from Cricket and installed the G960U firmware on it, debranding it and im satisfied with the result. You will likely need the patched version of Odin in order to flash any firmware on it to debrand it. Verify the processor via CPU-Z and we can go from there

the service guy installed twrp, then installed custom rom- based on 965F/DS- everything was fine. except no 5.8ghz wifi connection, no OTA update menu.

Will my warranty void if I upgraded to latest Android Pie manually?

I've SM-G965F in UAE (United Arab of Emirates), and I did not get the BETA invitation on Galaxy Members app, and I don't expect receiving the full release anytime soon.
So, I was thinking of using SamFirmware to upgrade the firmware to Android Pie, and I've the following two questions:
1. Will this void my warranty?
2. Will I receive regular updates later on?
Answer: Short answer would be no, your KNOX counter will remain at 0x0 and warranty stays valid as well.
However, some service centers might note regional differences between builds based on the latest build available for your CSC, indicating that the phone has been flashed, so if you're sending your device in for a service/repair/replacement, then I'd suggest flashing to the latest build available for your home country's CSC. Usually not required though, so not a big deal.

I don't think they can claim so, because, if I got a German SIM, I should be able to get the updates! I don't think they can tell me, don't use German SIM
eeeeee sim dont matter, phones from germany (DBT) and uae(XSG) recived Pie
"Download the firmware for the Galaxy S9+ SM-G965F with product code XSG from United Arab Emirates. This firmware has version number PDA G965FXXU2CRLI and CSC G965FOXM2CRLI. Switching Carrier Firmware SM-G965U

I am switch from AT&T to Spectrum Mobile. I have the newest android 10 update of Jan 2020 and my SIM unlock code from ATT. My question is do I need to change my firmware to U1 then flash the spectrum firmware? I have used Frija to download the SM-G965U firmware with the CSC as CHA. I'm just a little confused even after reading through the forums. If anyone could clarify that would be amazing
