P30 pro screen on time problem?? - Huawei P30 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello guys.
I bought a P30 pro last week and I'm getting 2-3 hours SoT at best.
I charge my phone in the morning and at around 6-7 pm with 3 hours of screen time my phone goes dead. Location services are off, I'm on LTE all the time but that shouldn't be the reason.
I have uploaded my device status which seems to be normal

Have u updated your firmware since you've set it up? Maybe is an issue somewere or you have some apps that are using the phone in background. You should try by clearing cache or resseting your phone (remember always to backup data) if your battery life is getting worst. In case is the same after resset, maybe you should take it in service for a battery check/replace under warranty.

Yea it is updated to the latest firmware. I'm using thr chinese variant so I'm on .162
Did you look at the photos in the link?
Things seem totally normal on my phone, right?
I'm not really an expert so I thought there's something I might have missed.

Yes, i've seen the photos and it's allright. Maybe it will take a couple of days for the AI & Kernel to settle. There is nothing wrong from your photos. Use it as is and report if you have had issues again.

[Q] questions for rooted sgs2 by a noob.

hi fellow mates at xda. i got myself this superb phone a month ago and i must say this is a very good phone compared to the iphone 4.However, i have some questions for you guys and hope you would help me.
First, when i played pes 2011 for 10 mins, the phone get really hot. Its very unbearable and is this normal? If its normal, is there a work around?
Second, my battery finish very fast with less than 6 hours of usage. Again is there a work around for this problem?
Thirdly, sometimes my phone rebooted itself for 6 times before stopping. Why is this so?
Lastly, how do i install software version 2.3.4 to my phone? does it eat up more battery? I wanna have stock rom for now. If there are any roms which save battery, do inform me and teach me how to install.
And to add on, my phone is KF1 with stock rom and its rooted. using launcer pro. Hope all of this helps. Pls be patient wth me. Thanks in advance for answering the questions
1- Phone will be hot if you play games for long time, and when you charge your phone. It's very normal.
2- Check under battery usage graph whats your screen time is, if it's around 5-5.5 hours than you are very fine. You can continuously use the device for that time and battery could be drained completely in 6 hours or even less.
3- Can't say about reboot issue, never had once.
4- Connect your phone to Kies, if there is a 2.3.4 update you will be notified. It will fix some issues. No way battery backup will be worse if not better.
I don't believe a Custom ROM could save battery juice. Never use one. Alternatively, I'd suggest you to root your device, install Titanium Backup Pro and freeze the unnecessary apps which you can see in app Better Battery Stats.

You must remember that the S2 is a 1.2ghz dual core phone, thinner than a Mrs Fields cookie, and with no fan to keep it cool. It will get hot... My brother's 1.4ghz Sony Vaio BURNS when he plays games, and so does my Macbook Pro when doing task intensive duties.
any link for better battery stats? cant seem to download from original post. My phone is rooted but now i cant connect to KIES. KIES said "Reconnect the device in samsung kies (pc studio) mode.Current connection not supported by kies." what should i do to connect to kies?
There's a billion links for everything. If you got a problem I can guarantee that one of the other 400 MILLION users that have been here forever have not only had your problem. But found the fix and gladly shared it. You see, there's this thing...its called a SEARCH box. Usually located in the upper right hand corner of the front page of XDA. Its an amazing thing that SEARCH button. You should check it out.....

[Q] Galaxy S 3 - i9300 - freezing randomly every few minutes.

Hi
my s3 keeps freezing. the screen basically just freezes while i'm doing something. and the device stops responding to anything.
cant lock it. cant do anything. it doesnt even autolock , the screen just stays on with whatever i was working on.
------------------
the only solution is to wait for it(about 20 minutes) and it will get back to whatever it was doing earlier. or hold the power button and it will reboot.
when i checked my router, i can see that it is still connected. so wifi is working. when i call my number from another phone, it rings but the S3 does absolutely nothing. and after it starts working again, i dont see any missed calls. so anyone who calls me while its "Freezing" will get ignored. i wont even know !!!
---------------
its not related to any app or function.
i updated it to 4.1.2 using odin a month ago (official release, because it would take it forever to get the update in my country) . it was running smoothly. a week ago it started freezing for moments every day or two. now i cant get through 10 minutes of using the device without it freezing for 20 or 30 minutes.
then the screen is turned on and it goes back to normal. and freezes after 10 minutes even if i dont use it.
i've noticed that using WiFi speeds up the freezing. When Wifi is On, it takes about 30s - 3 minutes for it to freeze.
--------
---
I did a Factory reset(full wipe from recovery mode), it worked for about an hour after the reset , and started freezing again like before.
----------------
after researching online.. many people had the same issue. some say its the stock android browser(but i dont use the browser), some said its a glitch in WiFi power saving mode(Disabled it, nothing changed), some said its a problem with the battery(i'm gonna trade batteries with my friend and see what happens).
I'm Freaking OUT !!! ... the device is Very Unstable and i use it on daily basis, i cant live without it. i dont know what to do. i've almost tried everything.
and i've paid alot of money for it
....
.........
i dont know what to do next. probably gonna flash it back to 4.1.1 or 4.0.4
i Hope to hear any ideas from you. or from anyone who had this issue with his device.
thanks in advance
Did you try a full wipe ?
Or maybe trying another ROM?
Try flashing a full stock Rom with a full wipe might that help

Dude, mine did that the first week I got it. Ended up failing and became stuck in Samsung's boot logo. That has nothing to do with whatever rom you're using. Backup and return it to stock if possible/needed, and take it in for a replacement/repair asap.

Did you find any solution for this? Mine has the same symptoms, but only when playing heavy 3D games.
*** ORIGINAL ***
I had this problem for the past two days. I removed my sd card about half an hour ago which seems to have fixed it. Before that it wouldn't even last two minutes without "locking up". I'll report back tomorrow if the problem was fixed permanently.
*** EDIT 1 ***
Nevermind, it froze just a few seconds ago. Keep on looking for a solution.
*** EDIT 2 ***
Well, I didn't touch my phone my phone over night and now it's working just fine. I have no idea why though.
update: my phone has almost stopped freezing. in past 24 hours it has frozen only ONCE !!
i've noticed that the freezing becomes more frequent if i pull the battery or restart by holding the power button.
so i started leaving it to sort it self out every time it freezes. and now its running smoothly.
-------
i'm happy that its working now, but still i wanna know what caused this. and if it will start happening again ??
---
everyone thnx for the feedback
and i will post updates and new info if i get any !
Mine is fixed
So i was having the same problem as the OP and i fixed my problem... These are the steps i took but maybe not all of them are needed.
Bought Triangle Away and Reset my Flash Counter
Flashed the Stock XXELLA ROM which updated the bootloader
Flashed CWM Touch Recovery 6.0.2.7
Booted in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Booted Normally
Installed crDroid ROM v10 with Siyah Kernel
This was finished at 5:30pm last night and my phone hasn't frozen since.
Spoke too soon
Well,
Phone is now dead.
Completely.
Doesn't turn on anymore.
I want to cry...:crying::crying::crying:

Hi Ali5anDro31,
Just curious if you have any further updates? Is yours still working well?
It seems I have the exact same problem as you (freezes randomly, more likely to freeze during heavy load but also often within 5 minutes of boot, usually unfreezes in about 20 minutes, and often gets stuck on Samsung logo if forcing reboot rather than waiting).
For a while I thought that following your advice and just letting it unfreeze itself when it happens (even though it takes a long time) it might have been fixed (going 18 hours without a freeze after having about 30 freezes the two days prior), but now I just got one again (within 5 minutes of starting browsing this morning).
Should I stick with it and hope it resolves itself, or take other measures (e.g. see if I can return the phone)?

I keep getting freezes also.
So far, it only happens with XXELLC based roms. When I go back to XXELLA the phone never freezes.
I have tried several XXELLC Roms, but all of them freeze, including Omega and VikingRom.
I'm now on VikingRom v4.1 (XXELLA) and no freezes.
Edit:
Nevermind, now it's happening also on XXELLA roms. All this started happening to me after i installed CM10.1, and then i went directly to XXELLC, of course wiping everything including internal storage.
Spent 2 days with this problem, i'm on XXELLA with a completly unmodified S3 using a 64gb SD card. I think i've fixed it have now been running for 30 hours without a freeze. before it was freezing every 5 minutes, nearly sent the phone back.
Any way my solution is uninstall all updates to samsung 'music hub' and uninstall the samsung push service updates and disable. this seemed to fix it. Can't believe Samsung are putting out software that knacks their own phones.
Hello.. just found this topic..
What color is your S3?
My manager had similar problems and he asked me if i could fix it.. in the end the phone just died.
My girlfriend has the same problem and her phone died today..

Phone got hard bricked(?)

So I got my phone yesterday. It was running on 4.1.1 iirc(not sure, it was a version of JB though), device told me it needed an update but I didn't have the time to update.
Now today, as I'm returning home I'm playing a game when the phone gets really hot. Now I don't mean normal warm, almost unbearable to touch the bottom third of the phone for longer than a couple of seconds.
I closed all the apps and let the phone rest to cool down. Couple minutes later I want to turn the screen on to check the time and it just doesn't respond. I remove the battery, try turning it back on, no response.
I tried charging it, thinking the battery might have suddenly died(even though it was at 20%) but the red charging light doesn't even show up. I'm not sure whether it's the sudden death issue or something else.
Will I be able to fix this by myself, or will I have to get the phone to a service center? I just got it so naturally I don't want to lose it, but I've read that even a usb jib won't get a device like this in download mode.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Phone is normal international version, I didn't root, using stock rom. Basically I didn't do anything except install apps and set up some accounts. The phone doesn't react to the vol down+menu+power combination, no matter in which order I hold the buttons.
Sudden death, Samsung will change the motherboard for free
Thanks. Any idea on how long it might take to get the phone back? Will I have to bring it to the store where I got it(not a Samsung service center) or send it to Samsung?

[Q] Stock S III boot loop - SIM?

My stock, never-rooted GT-I9300 (4.1.2, I9300BWELK1, JZO54K.I9300XXEMC2) is plagued by boot loop problems. It first started about 3 months ago, where the blue charge LED would suddenly come on and the phone would not wake from sleep. I pulled the battery, then when it was turned on it showed the initial S III logo, then the O2 logo followed by the glowing Samsung logo. Then repeated from the O2 logo endlessly. I pulled the battery again, then the next morning restarted it without the SIM or SD card in, and it had done a partial factory reset - i.e. lots of phone contacts were there with the texts, but all the settings had reverted to default. Later that day while on charge the same thing happened again, and I sent it away to O2 for repair.
When it returned, the same thing happened 6 weeks later although this time it was on when it froze and went straight to the O2/blue LED stage. Another repair (I'm fairly sure these 'repairs' were just factory resets...), and 6 weeks later exactly the same. Back to the O2 shop for another repair.
This time they replaced the 'main board' and when it came back it had a different Wi-Fi MAC address. This time only 6 days elapsed before the same fault arose again, and finally I was eligible for a replacement handset. This lasted 2 days before a boot loop condition occurred again! This time, being sure it couldn't be a hardware fault I tried my own /data and /cache wipe, which worked. I skipped all but the must-have apps, and I thought this was going to be stable but once more this past weekend the boot loop happened again (I've got my restoration procedure down to about 15 minutes thanks to the practice!)
I don't know what could be causing this and I'm fed up with resetting my phone. Are all S IIIs this unstable? I've never had a phone that required a factory reset within 18 months! When it is in the boot loop, I can access recovery and download modes, but safe-mode start-up has no effect.
The last remaining candidates I can think of are a problem with my SIM card, or a defect with my SD card... or an app. Can anyone suggest the best way to troubleshoot this? I'd really really rather not have to skip importing my settings as I have among other things many SSIDs I don't easily have access to re-create.

No, not all S3 owners experience this, a factory reset solves most of these issues however, if it doesn't, a trip to the Samsung service center will help.
I'd say it's probably a dodgy app, or some kind of unstable firmware update for your region/carrier, since hardware replacements didn't help with it.

Hmm. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I know anyone else with and S III on O2-UK but it seems to be news to O2, so I assumed it must be fairly rare.
I'm not sure about dodgy apps; testing them one app at a time isn't really feasible as it can take up to 6 or 7 weeks to fail judging by past performance. Are there any logs or similar that I can pull out somehow in the event of a boot loop? I've seen about logcats but I am not sure if this would be of use

Everything to carries is "news".
I can't help with logs and whatnot, so I'll leave that to someone else.
You can always flash and downgrade to the older firmware that didn't give you a problem, if the problem persists, it is indeed an app.
Even when rooted, informative logs are nigh on impossible to get

Well late Friday night it did it again. Not sure when exactly as I was asleep. Woke up in the middle of the night and went to check the time, Looked at my phone to find the blue LED on when it should have been red for charging or green for fully charged, and it was very hot - wouldn't turn on either. Pulled the battery but it kust went into the loop. I was away from home so I couldn't do any troubleshooting and had no choice but to wipe.
This time I didn't restore settings and the only apps I installed were SMS Backup & Restore and Puzzle Alarm (I know this isn't the culprit as I only started using it this week!). Gone are all my precious wifi SSIDs but otherwise I'm not sure I've noticed the difference.
So I'm now not connected to my work wifi, nor have I set up my work email or Lync - two of the things I use my phone for must after Facebook which I've also not reinstalled. Facebook mobile web is really hard to use by comparison.
By chance I popped into the O2 shop later that day and had the fortune to bump into a Samsung rep who had never heard of this and agreed that I was unfortunate to have these problems (how touching!) and suggested I speak directly to Samsung support rather than O2 which I will do this week. I will also contact O2 about a replacement SIM and look into replacing the SD too.
This is really silly. I'm not keen on downgrading the software because the first thing either Samsung or O2 will do is upgrade it again. Frankly at this point I'm fed up with the whole thing but I've got a year left on the contract and even a pretty much new handset like mine won't fetch enough.

I'm getting the same thing happen with mine. Started months ago. Sent it back to xiaomi for repair with a very clear explanation of the issue - they turned it on and found it works and sent it back to me, insisting it's fine.
Got it back and turned it on yesterday - within a few be hours the problem recurred just as it did before and it's continued to do so today
€30 postage and inspection fee plus months of having to rely on my old phone - and my F1 still won't work!
Very frustrating

Check your kernel settings, Fsync might be disabled, enable it for more system stability. It might caused random system shutdowns or reboots.

Don't know if it's for the same reason, but mine appears somewhat screwed and Xiaomi have done nothing to fix it. Gonna have to take it to a local phone repair shop. Loath to do that, since the warranty will be voided - however the warranty seems to be worth nothing, so I don't see I have much choice
