New update 10.3.9.0 - Worst update - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Just got the new update in Redmi Note 7 Pro with the file size of 505mb.
Changelog:
=================
NEW - Lock Screen Clock Format (settings -> Lockscreen -> Advanced)
NEW - Mi Credit App(Bloatware) but can be uninstallable
FAIL - Battery keeps draining

Use xiaomi.eu ROM then..

It took 1.8GB for me ? for the same version of update!!

we need camera 48 mp improve and network LTE-CA support . Mi always cheating updates

Good that am still on 10.3.7 , this update is stable and battery life is good. But the new charging animation only shows up some times , wonder if its a bug

modem image also need improvemet and camera 48 mp give zoom and 16:9

I did not understand your answer, i bought this phone 4 days ago and i have miui 10.3.7, but touch and pubg game play is not smooth, you means to say this problem with global rom and xiomi eu is the only solution, kinsly explain.

They pulled the update back because it was reported as draining battery by many users. I didn't get the update too. Be thankful, lol.

Always use xiaomi.eu. This is the same rom but without the bloatware.

My phone's network is crashing for 5-7 seconds every time I am opening any heavy app like Paytm or Instagram which requires location access. It is happening recently since two-three weeks. Are you facing any such issue?
Thanksss..

Try once more, if it repeats over and over again, download the fastboot ROM for the update you want (find this on the MIUI forums, or the links provided in one of the posts on discussion I believe), Now use the MI Flash tool to flash this to the device from a PC.

smartlock secure location never worked on my phone in marshmallow.. it really pisses me off.. even in hangouts.. you can't send your location because google services will stop responding.

google Xperifirm ...... install ...... download firmware for your specific Xperia model
If i am rooted, have xposed + some modules installed, and have adoptive storage, in wich some of my apps installed, can i then update my system with flashtool, without ****ing it all up?
i must admit, update is very good and optimize, ii downloaded customized CH, for switzerland market, have factory unlocked m4, works like a charm. it is faster , and smoother than previous update. adoptable storage still works... good sony, good
Which version are you using all?
I downloaded the customized US, so far ive seen nothing new feels like same

battery draining in idle miui
Well, that's weird. I have the phone since 2 months and I don't have any battery issue.
When you in 'settings > battery and performance > power > battery use', you can see what app causes the most battery drain. Try to identify which one is at fault.
If the problem still persists, maybe you should consider sending back the phone for a replacement.

I read somewhere that it's because one core is always running on 100%, but I used a custom rom based on Android 10 and lowered the clock speed by 25% and the battery life was still ****, so I really don't know why the hell is it still this bad on Android 10
Im on custom rom too, but on EvolutionX (android 10) and battery is quite good..Dont know did you mean custom MIUI rom or other like the one Im on.
That's a lot better than what I got on the same rom lol
Is it possible to flash from global MI to EU?
I'm already some kind of disappointed by Xiaomi's update policy regarding the global MI ROM....
Yes it does.
Clock app UI is fixed in the update!

I am on MIUI 11.0.1.0 and not having any of these bugs. Immensity kernel (last stable for miui version)
Battery life is stellar! Browsing for 50mins-60mins will drain by 4%. CPU cores behaving normally with all of them downlocking to the lower clocks(525-750Mhz) including the prime [email protected] 825MHz.
Use Greenify to disable unnecessary background apps and remove or atleast freeze by titaniumbackup apps which run in background by default but which you dont use on daily basis (for me it's facebook services, google's music, photos, etc etc)
Just got the update today here in europe.
Aside from other stuff, I noticed the 24hour wallpaper is gone. This means you can't use any 3rd party apps to change the lock screen wallpaper anymore. Google wallpapers and such only affect the homescreen....
Anyone got a workaround for this already or are we stuck with MIUI lock screen wallpapers?

First test done. It look good.
- Autostart: I still had a problem with background autostart even with turned off autostart. Its solved now. Battery screen is empty
- Battery: Overnight with turned off wifi just 2%!!! discharge overall
- Security: 03.20 security update installed
- Performance: For me it seems smoother, but that needs more testing.
Overall after 1 day i would say its good to try it out, it improves a few settings.

Hello,
you can download the update from MI website or go to Settings >> About Phone (first option under settings) >> System Update (also the first option here)
It will search for new OTA asap from himself. Just be sure you're on WiFi, it will be 2.2G download.

Xiaomi and androidone is disaster.
All of the users with android 11 have many problems after the brick version.
So xiaomi is useless.
Updated it today morning, everything looks and working fine to me. Sometimes the recent apps get stuck on the screen, not that big of an issue and I hate the new notification style, and Whatsapp notifications too, takes up half the screen gets very annoying sometimes.

This update has many features missing and some bugs:
- Excessive battery drain;
- Slow charge;
- Power menu controls missing;
- No native screen recording;
- Chat Bubbles not working;
- No wifi calling...
Xiaomi send us a 1,4 Gb package just to change some screen transitions...

I agree that some of the features are missing, but battery and charging is fine on my device. Hopefully we will get the missing features in next update.
Chat bubbles are working on some devices. Besides after an OS upgrade, always do a factory reset. Some issues should be solved,
Bluetooth is choppy, anyone else having the same problem ?
