I had problem with accidentally updating my Oreo 8.1 SGS9+ to Pie while being modded with Swift Installer. It failed. So I had to flash stock Oreo rom with Odin to get it working. I did a factory reset to get it running because it couldn't optimize apps.
On clean Oreo I tried to restore my old progress by logging to my main Gmail. As it always worked on all my devices in the past. But FML now everything refuses to work.
When I tried to log at the welcome screen and restore data from the old device (same model same system) NOT create new it shows something like this

I'm looking everywhere for a solution as I can't get past welcome screen and i won't create new (exactly same) device because I don't believe at all that Google won't overwrite the data I NEED.
Google support is also on top of **** - https://support.google.com/drive/answer/6305834?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&oco=1 by manage they understand DELETE.
What should I do. I even flashed lineageOS 15 as i thought its Samsung fault as its also based on oreo 8.1
Please help.
I have skipped the welcome screen to add account and see what will be restored. NOTHING no call logs, SMS, calendar, and of course no apps. Play store sees only 10 random apps when I can easily" count on my fingers" to 50

I was scared and quickly I removed the battery of the phone, after I turned on the phone and normally but some apps started to stop working and showed a window saying " Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and other apps didn't work, Quickly I did deleted inside the phone all in "Settings" but that doesn't worked all apps was there inside the phone. Then, I do from recovery mode the hard reset and wipes for reinstall the Rom but again that doesn't worked. I did Stock Rom, I mean reinstall the Operative System Original with KDZ in emergency mode (Download mode) and again that doesn't worked.

When I was exploring the Internet via chrome my phone has been infected. The new tab opened by itself, phone started to vibrate and page said that my phone is infected and that I should download Antivirus (but this page was similar to other pages with slogans "YOU WON 100K$ CLICK HERE etc.) so I ignored it. Now after every call (only then) Clean Master is saying that I already installed "Games " so I can delete apk file. Sometimes I press YES or sometimes I press No and sometimes it appear on desktop as game (last time it was yahoo logo) sometimes it doesn't. Clean Master Says That is malware with ".bf" extension. I tried every AV, even Avast didn't find anything. I tried also looking for this file by my self but no results (CM Antivirus also find nothing) . (gonna add name of virus for better tagging)

I think that is ads... Btw to be safe you can always format your phone, be sure backup your data and contacts.. If you are rooted use adblocking software.. If not use browser which supports adblocking features..there are many in playstore

I just bought Google Home. Configured it and looks like everything is fine...a part the fact that cannot connect to the Sony TV I got in the end of last year.
It's a new model of 2016 and my phone and tablet can cast to it, the Google Home application see it but I don't know why I cannot add it. I also updated to the last version of Google Cast app for Android TV. When I go to settings "add TV & Speakers" it just shows Google Home, I click "add", it scan the network..see it (!!!), already place the blue check, I press add...and nothing. It goes back to the previous sceen and nothing changed, it shows the Google Home device and nothing more.
I tried to...
- Rename the TV
- Clear the Google Cast App cache
- Restart the TV
- Uninstall and reinstall the uptades of Google Cast
- Change network
Don't know anymore what to do but I really would like to use Google Home full potential and cast video/pictures to my TV via this device.
Hope anyone can help.

Hello,
I'm facing a weird issue: since yesterday circa 5:30 p.m., some apps suddenly stopped working for no reason and just won't open or rapidly forceclose when I try to launch them: Gmail, Google, my bank app, Feedly, Amazon shopping, Steam, Xbox, Google Rewards, etc.
I first noticed that issue while I was running Android Auto and wanted to check my emails, the Gmail app force-closed without any message when I tried to open it.
On the Google app for instance, as soon as I try to type something in the upper-bar, BAM, force-close. And I get this weird message instead of my usual Discover feed at launch:

I also noticed that I can't open the Google settings: all I get is a white page, so I'm thinking it might be related to my account in some way... but some other Google apps, like Google Music or Maps, work just fine.
There's no common denominator between the apps that work and those that don't.
For those which don't work, I cleared the cache and even rest app data, uninstalled those I can and restored to stock the system apps, but no result, those specific apps just won't open.
I also tried wipe cache from the recovery.
For the record I'm running android 10 and even flashed a more recent OXM firmware (keeping HOME_CSC) to make sure it wasn't due to system file.
Do you have any guess??
Eventually decided to do a factory reset and everything works fine now

I made a WhatsApp backup to GoogleDrive in old phone (Redmi Note 7) about 11 gb
Restored that backup into a new Redmi Note 11 (took 2-3 days due very slow ISP)
- chats restored ok
- stickers restored ok at first. But now I'm getting "Something went wrong" when I want to see stickers from a pack (see image attached)

1. In RN7 I had Wemoji App which I used to create all custom sticker packs and install to whatsapp. Could not restore this app data in the new phone, even copying manually Android/data/com.wemoji folder from old phone to new one
2. I've removed both apps, WhatsApp and Wemoji from battery saving or battery optimization in new phone's settings; then restarted phone, etc. no luck
3. I can't open WhatsApp in old phone due it detected I've moved all to new phone and 1st time wizzard shows
4. I think Whatsapp files in old phone may still be available to copy manually, but I guess it won't work by just copying:
RN7: internal_storage/WhatsApp/media/Whatsapp Stickers
to (new path since Android 11)
RN11: internal_storage/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/Whatsapp Stickers
There must be a database used by WhatsApp so it knows how to organize all the .webp files stored in stickers folder
Does anyone have a suggestion? I don't want to restore Google Drive backup again. Maybe some tool that can assure I'll be able to migrate stickers from old phone to new?
