In the spirit of moving custom ROM development along for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 [SM-T510/T515], here's one I just created based on the September 2019 Update and @AndyYan's LineageOS 16.0 GSI. It's very much a work in progress, but it should hopefully help blaze the trail for even better work.
Notes:
The current process may require you to reset to factory defaults to remove file-based encryption. Remember to backup your data!
Custom kernels are specific to OEM releases, and this one is based on the November 2019 Update (T510XXS3ATB4) for the SM-T510.
The system is based on @AndyYan's LineageOS 16.0 GSI with the latest Stock variant from OpenGApps.
Boot logo and default wallpaper is from my Nexus series of custom ROMs for Android TV, and I'm using the Pixel boot animation with black background.
Stock recovery will be replaced with my latest TWRP build for the SM-T510.
I've dialed back most of scary bootloader warnings and Knox Security branding from the boot sequence.
This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you should be able recover from any problems...but nothing is guaranteed.

Support for file-based encryption

Oo our first custom rom!! Thanks alot!! Cant wair to try it soon

Important Note: The Night Mode setting in Developer Options is set to "Always off" by default. Don't change it! When I set it to "Automatic (based on time of day)", the screen went black and I couldn't recover without a factory reset. (I'm assuming that this was a bug in SystemUI.apk.)

Thanks for the effort and time you've put into this.
Unfortunately I can't get it to work. I will wait for detailed full instructions. I just keep getting Odin fails.

Well, I just verified the MD5s and they match. However, to be a little more squared away, I replaced the original .tar file that I uploaded with a .tar.md5 (a.k.a. "tarball) which has the MD5 footer that Odin can use to verify the file integrity. I've also compressed the contents with LZ4, which cut the size down by a third.
Installing the new tarball with Odin3 v3.13.3 on my tablet went smoothly, so I hope this works for you.

Finally got it to work. Had to flash back to stock. Wipe. Then immediately reboot bootloader again and flash Rom.
How do I go about rooting now?
Edit: nevermind, got it rooted. Everything is working fine now!
Sent you a donation for your work. ? ?

I have a new SM-T510 on T510XXU1ASEF
I flashed this ROM with Oding3 3.13.3. Then it rebooted. The Nexus logo goes by, I am asked to confirm the ROM is non-standard by pressing the "power" button. Then I get the TWRP splash screen, and it hangs.
Tried to flash 3 times, same result.
Is there something to going back to stock, wiping, bootloader, flash again? Or is that just doing things until it works?

It's important that you wipe the data partition before TWRP boots, since it currently hangs when it encounters an encrypted file system. (Yes, this really shouldn't happen, but I haven't found a fix for that TWRP bug yet.)
Did you select "Wipe data/factory reset" in the stock OEM recovery immediately before you flashed this custom ROM?

"Did you select "Wipe data/factory reset" in the stock OEM recovery immediately before you flashed this custom ROM? "
Yes.
I got it to work. reinstalled stock rom (link above). Booted it stock. Enabled Developer Mode, Enabled USB debugging. confirmed OEM still unlocked. Boot to recovery, wipe, boot to bootloader. Flash this ROM with Odin3. reboot. All is well.
So now I guess I gotta do the Device ID dance. Install Magisk Manager, patch the boot.img from your tar file, then use TWRP to install the magisk_patched.img as boot.
Along the way I also wasted a lot of time trying to flash with heimdall 1.4.2. But that was very flakey. Odin3 just worked.

I guess I should mention my biggest issue was unlocking the bootloader. Not like before.
Power off. Hold Vol UP and Vol Down. Plug in USB. Long press Vol UP to unlock.

If you install Magisk, you might not have to do the device certification dance. It tries to fake out Play Protect.

The device certification was painless. I've doe that before on other devices.
Rooting with Magisk was also painless:
Grab boot.img from your tarball.
adb push boot.img /storeage/emulated/0/Download
patch using Magisk Manager
adb pull /storage/emulated/0/Download/magisk_patched.img .
heimdall flash --BOOT magisk_patched.img
I can't get SafetyNet to pass, even with Magisk SafetyPatch module. But not a big deal to me.
Is there a way to turn off the google page on the launcher?
Thanks for the nice ROM! So much better than stock.
I'm still looking for a good ad blocker for Pie. Up tile now I have used a Raspberry Pi as a dnsmasq server for ad blocking.

If you open up the Android One Launcher settings, there's a "Display Google app" option that you can disable.

Yeah, I've tried the usual tricks like spoofing the fingerprint, but that didn't work either. This kind of hard Play Protect device rejection seems to happen for me whenever the vendor partition is using release keys and the system partition is using test keys.
I haven't found an XDA thread yet that really provided deep insight into the algorithm that Google uses for Play Protect and SafetyNet. And given the proprietary nature of what it's doing, we may never get it. I think our best long-term solution is to get LineageOS 16 builds that pass CTS testing, but we may have to scrounge for 64-bit drivers.

I just went with Nova Launcher. It has been good to me.
I can wait for Lineage to catch up. I'm happy to be rid of bloatware. And with root I can block ads and my firewall works.
Thanks for the ROM! I'm happy!

The 3G/128G config was selling for just $250 USD through Costco until a few days ago. That's a pretty insane value....as long as you aren't stuck with Samsung's One UI, that is.

will there be a new release coming?

Yes, I'm trying to build an unofficial LineageOS 16.0 release, but am struggling with some build issues. The primary goal is to deal with the Play Protect device certification (but I definitely won't pass SafetyNet). Eventually, I'll also get to fixing MTP.

wow dude, thanks a lot for you work

Android 6.0 Marshmallow coming to a Note 10.1 LTE (2014)!
This ROM is for P605.
It is directly based on vanilla Google Android sources. Real AOSP.
This ROM is stable and can be used as a daily driver.
Download
Note 10.1 LTE (2014) (P-605) - aosp-6.0.0-latest-lt03lte.zip (md5sum)
Download GApps
OpenGApps (Tested with open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20160723)
Do not use Stock or higher. Nano is recommended.
Download SuperSU
SuperSu 2.76 (Tested with UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323)
Prerequisites
TWRP 2.8.6.2 or higher
Applied bootloader update, e.g. by
flashing the stock 4.2(or higher) samsung rom or
by applying bootloader directly with odin
Instructions
Flash TWRP 2.7.1.1 or higher (Note: 2.8.7.0 does not work).
Reboot into recovery. Go into wipe menu. Select "Advanced Wipe". Check
Dalvik Cache
System
Cache
Data
and wipe them. Don't reboot just yet.
Go into install.
Flash aosp-XXX.zip
Reboot to Recovery. Else flashing GAPPS will FAIL!
Flash GAPPS.zip
Flash SuperSU.zip
Reboot to System
Check Settings->System Updates (Creates /sdcard/OpenDelta/FlashAfterUpdate)
Copy SuperSu and Gapps zip to /sdcard/OpenDelta/FlashAfterUpdate so that they are automatically applied after OTA update. Else your system will be unusable after an OTA!
Issues
No major issues
Camera takes 30sec to start
Bad GPS performance
Tips'N'Tricks
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.
Probably just a developer tip, but if you dirty flash without cleaning /cache it could be that flashing fails. This is probably due to the /cache partition being full. Delete /cache/backup and reflash. Dunno why android fills this partition so much.

There is still a lot todo. For example we should move to the newer vendor blobs.
But I think this version is a good base and I am excited to get your feedback.
Note: I recommend doing a backup of your old ROM before testing.
Hi,
at first thanks a lot for your hard work.
Can you please give me the link to the threads, from which you've got the Gapps,
because i'd like to know, which parts of gapps are inside those packages.
Thank you
Edit:
I just installed it, really excited Works great so far, no lags, very smooth.
Open Gapps Pico (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/pa-gapps-continuation-t3098071 marshmallow is not mentioned in the thread, but you can download the packages from their download website)
The only issue so far - besides camera - is a force close of Exchange services after booting, but i freeze this service anyway, so no problem for me
This is probably a noob question, but why aren't we using SuperSu 2.52 Beta?
Great work, I followed your excellent work on Lollipop, Now with Marshmallow, I have no reason to swap my P605. A big Thank You from Prague!.
Does this support exfat sdcards please?
Issue found: Rotation doesn't work, only in horizontal mode, because Sensors don't work for me (In other roms this often was modem related, I'm on stock LP modem, which one do you use?).
XPosed v78 works in this Rom.
Edit: I've done some research, maybe it's related to the new "Sensor Hub" implemented with 6.0
Edit2:
Issue 2, already present in 5.1.1: After reboot clock is set back to a date in 2014.
Issue3: After switching to flight mode (I do not use Data), the clock is not synced with the network. So i have to set the clock manually. Though the clock in clock settings shows the right time, the clock in the upper corner and in the pull down menu remains on that time which has been set. Only when i set the clock again, it is synced with the clock in the upper corner, after that it remains on this time again. This seems a bit weird, and might be a bug in GravityBoxMM. Update: Now clock is working correctly, strange....
I had some insurmountable problems with updating twrp, so I performed clean flash following the instructions with obsolete 2.8.1.0.
It seems to have worked, exchange services stopped on boot as reported above.
Edit: Google play crashed once during initial setup, but account configuration and play store works. Maybe caused by the ****ty wifi I am currently using.
Observed issues:
* backlight control is not fuctional
* screen rotation is not fuctional (as poster above)
* exchange service crash (as poster above)
Great rom..been using your first one since day one. Only thing I can see is the Screen rotation like some have mentioned. Great start and looking forward to the changes.
Encryption failing
So, I was trying out encryption and would like to share my experiences:
First try
flash TWRP 2.8.6.1 with Odin (2.8.6.2 was not available on twrp.me)
boot into recovery
flash Schischu's ROM (incl md5sum check)
reboot into recovery (w/o installing TWRP's SuperSU)
flash SuperSU 2.52 (it seems I forgot to flash gapps here; no google "welcome" later on)
reboot into ROM
set password
start encryption
Results: After initiating the encryption, the Android encryption screen is shown for just a few seconds and the tablet reboots. When now starting Android, it asks for a password. But every password (incl. the correct one) is accepted as valid but the data is claimed to be corrupted on a Decryption unsuccessful screen. I can reset the tablet from here (it boots into TWRP for a data wipe) and that's it. A wipe seems to fail, though, as the tablet continues to boot into the decryption dialog.
Second try
wipe everything from TWRP 2.8.6.1
flash Schischu's ROM (incl md5sum check)
reboot into recovery (w/o installing TWRP's SuperSU)
flash gapps and supersu 2.52
reboot into ROM
set password
start encryption
Results: the same as above...
Third try
wipe everything from TWRP 2.8.6.1
flash TWRP 2.7.1.1 as recovery using the currently installed TWRP 2.8.6.1
reboot into recovery
flash Schischu's ROM (incl md5sum check)
reboot into Schischu's ROM directly
start encryption (without setting a password first)
Results: the same as above... (including asking for the password, even though none was set during setup)
Fourth try
format everything from TWRP 2.7.1.1 (creating new filesystems where possible)
reboot into recovery
flash Schischu's ROM (incl md5sum check)
reboot into recovery (w/o installing TWRP's SuperSU)
flash gapps
flash SuperSU 2.50 (not combined with gapps but in a second step)
reboot into ROM
skip any Google or internet setup
set password
start encryption
Results: the same as above...
Until now I wasn't able to get encryption to work with Schischu's ROM on the P605. Any hints what I should try? Did anybody else successfully activate tablet encryption with this ROM? Thanks.

I get a message of unsupported sd card.
My sd card is falsely recognised as samsung and i should format it if i want to use it with this rom.
My card is transcend 64gb fat32 though.
With previous rom(5.1.1) it is recognised ok
In twrp it is recognised ok
I dont know if it is a marshmallow thing and not roms fault.
I will try to reformat it
Marshmallow changed several things, I recommend reading the following
SD-Card
System UI Tuner
Doze
Now On Tap
Permissions

That's only true for apps already adjusted to handle the new behavior properly. Titanium backup for instance doesn't seem to correctly detect the absence of a working menu key and therefore keeps hiding the menu button. So I have no chance to setup the data folder and can't restore anything from it. And that's just one example, there are plenty of apps who get same issues.
Besides that I just don't need "now on tap" at all.
However, I think the best compromise - at least for me - would be having "recent" bound to menu-long-press.
subbing to follow progress. sounds like in a few versions i'll be updating to this.

LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform.
This is an unofficial build of LineageOS for the Pixel 3 (blueline). I always liked Lineage (and its predecessor CyanogenMOD) as well as the Google line of phones. Unfortunately having a Google Pixel phone isn't certainty for a lot of custom ROMS anymore, so that's why I decided to compile my own version. It's been quite challeging, but I think I finally have a build that is good enough to share.
About
This ROM is built straight from the LineageOS sources found on https://github.com/lineageos. There are only 3 changes in order to get this build:
The device tree is just a single folder with references to the crosshatch (Pixel 3XL) tree that is already there in the sources
The binaries for this ROM come from The Muppets
The ROM is compiled with the nano version from Open Gapps, including the Pixel specific bits for unlimited photo upload for instance
I am not a developer, I only build this ROM and it reflects the the current status. If there are any things missing or not working I suggest to contact the LineageOS team, they are the real geniuses here and deserve all the credits. I will try to keep this ROM updated on a regular basis.
First Installation
Installing the ROM can be a little hard, especially the first install. Upgrades will be relatively easy though. This first setup is only needed when coming from a different ROM then this. I can't support you if you did't follow this first installation. Be warned it will wipe your user data in the process, so make sure you make a backup if needed.
Place the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip, a kernel and root on the phone and reboot to recovery by using the command line (fastboot boot twrp.img) or hold the VOL DOWN key while rebooting the phone.
In order to make the right startbase for the ROM you have to install the latest stock Pixel 3 image from Google found here to BOTH slots. You can use the script in the download folder. Instructions how to use it can be found in the script itself.
Wipe 'data' and 'Dalvik / Art Cache' from TWRP - Wipe - Advanced Wipe or use the slider in TWRP for a factory reset. Optionally you should also delete the Android folder on your internal storage through the TWRP File Manager
Flash the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip, kernel and root and reboot the phone
Upgrades to new version
After the hard initial work to get the ROM installed it's going to be easy for upgrades to new versions.
Download the new ROM on the phone and reboot or fastboot flash to the TWRP recovery
Flash the new ROM and optionally TWRP. If you want to flash another kernel or a root solution you will have to reboot you phone, so it switches slots and let it boot normally. Then go back to recovery and flash in this order: TWRP - kernel - Magisk and reboot
After a monthly update from Google and only when LineageOS also adapted to the latest monthly sources (I will tell you this) you will have to do an extra step:
Download the latest Lineage OS ROM and place it on the internal storage
Download the latest image from the Google Factory Images site, extract the bootloader, radio and vendor images and flash them in the bootloader to BOTH slots. Alternatively (and actually my prefered method) you can use the script provided in the download folder. Instructions are inside the script
From here go to TWRP recovery and flash the previously downloaded new ROM, optionally followed by TWRP.
Optionally, after a reboot you can flash Magisk and/or another kernel.
Not working
Active Edge
Now playing (on the lockscreen, it works while the screen is on, just no history))
Call recording (not enabled in sources for our device)
Accent colours Default, Forest and Cocoa display a blue colour icon theme instead of its own
Call Screen (couldn't test it myself)
The "markup" tool to edit screenshots doesn't work
Downloads
Now finally for the good part, the downloads. In this folder you will always find the latest ROM:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lx8dlS4ZRVVQYeQS0I7Y_6yJ5SFMg7uR
Happy flashing

@jorgen2009 I used to use your Pixel 2 LineageOS unofficial builds. Really excited to see that you are going to be making Pixel 3 builds now! Looking forward to trying it out tonight. Thanks!
@jorgen2009 I flashed the rom and it's working great for the most part. The only problem I've noticed is that there is no audio in phone calls. I cannot hear the other person and they cannot hear me either. This is happening regardless of whether VoLTE is enabled. Any ideas? Thanks again for your work on this.
That was happening with other February custom roms. just flashing Google's radio image in fastboot from the February Google's factory image should do the trick.
@beanaman Thanks, this fixed it for me! Flashing just the radio image wasn't enough, though. I also had to flash the vendor image.

@beanaman Thanks, this fixed it for me! Flashing just the radio image wasn't enough, though. I also had to flash the vendor image.

Yup. Vendor and radio, sometimes bootloader needs to be updated
Thanks! Working great until now

Don't knot m know what's going on but after a long time charging, it's incredibly slow and laggy... A reboot solved it. Hooping to find out what's going on...

Google pay works fine (I have magisk installed), active edge is proprietary code and won't be implemented unless someone gets lucky or Google releases the source.

Fyi, Dirty Unicorns has a working implementation of Active Edge. I am using it right now and it works flawlessly.

Did you just enabled hidesu for Google pay or any special steps you performed ?
Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
Just posted an update of the ROM, built from today's sources. Together with this release I made a Lineage OS ROM for the Pixel 3XL as well. As I don't have this phone myself I'm not sure if it's working. If anyone can confirm this I will make in announcement in the Pixel 3XL forum as well, hopefully stimulating development for our devices.

Only enable magisk hide for them, nothing else
I'm seeing that in the OP, the instructions don't involve wiping System after making sure you start from Google's factory image as a base. Any reason I shouldn't wipe System? I did, and everything seems to be working okay. Do I lose any features or anything?

System will be completely overwritten by the ROM, so no need to wipe it first. Whether you wipe it or not has no effect on the features whatsoever
Hi,
To enable active edge, look at these commits: https://gerrit.dirtyunicorns.com/#/q/status:merged+topic:active_edge

Any chance thay you may add proper support so custom kernels can be used together with LineageOS?
Using a kernel like Proton together with LOS is making the phone just randomly freeze once it have fully booted non stop.

Installation procedure:
There are two methods to install OrangeFox
A) Via a recovery (for those with TWRP installed):
1. To install an OrangeFox zip, flash it with OrangeFox (or any TWRP-compatible custom recovery) without any wipes.
2. Do the same thing if you want to upgrade OrangeFox
3. When you flash an OrangeFox zip, there is no need to flash any DFE or any other such thing
4.To install an OrangeFox img file, boot into fastboot mode, and run the command: fastboot flash recovery OrangeFox-xyz.img
B) Via Fastboot (For those without a recovery):
You need a PC for this. If you do not have a PC, or access to a PC, then you are stuck!
1. Unlock your bootloader (if not already unlocked)
2. Install adb, fastboot and the relevant USB drivers onto your PCs)
3. Download the correct OrangeFox zip file to your phone, and to your PC
4. Extract recovery.img from the OrangeFox zip file, and copy recovery.img to your PC’s adb directory
5. Reboot your phone into fastboot/bootloader mode
6. Open up a command line window / terminal emulator on your PC
7. Change to the adb directory on your PC
8. Flash OrangeFox Recovery by using the fastboot flash recovery recovery.img command
9. Reboot into OrangeFox by pressing the power + volume down keys, until you see the OrangeFox splash screen
11. After OrangeFox has booted up, check that everything is working – eg, that it has mounted the data partition successfully, and that the touchscreen works.
12. Find and select the OrangeFox zip on your phone, tap on it, and swipe to install it (because OrangeFox Recovery needs some files from the zip)
After installation, the phone will automatically reboot into OrangeFox
Enjoy!

Hello, does password encryption work with Android 11? Do you know or I should try and let you know? Recovery seems very nice. First time I changed from TWRP and I think I'll stay. Good Job!!
Edit: I know it says "Password Protection" in the main post. What I meant is can it decrypt with password?

I wanted to mention that when fully customizing the recovery things can get really laggy making it difficult to use. I can't exactly tell the setting I had because I set everything to default for fluidity. However please work on the speed and smoothness!
Appreciate the work.

Did you try rebooting into the recovery after you customised? I should also point out the recovery doesn't utilise a phone's complete power. It's limited so there are always no animations and everything feels sudden, that's a limitation for twrp Ofox and everything else I've used.

Well yes, of course. Everything seems to work fine after a few minutes but still very laggy at start and that can be a bit annoying for things like pattern lock and such. I'm not runny any customizations as of now things work good.
Tried PIN and it doesn't decrypt. It's no problem, got used to it(lol) but I'm just letting you know.

I wanted to consult your team and members about a possible OrangeFox Recovery and a Rom A10 or A11 for a seperate device not OnePlus 5T. If you are interested, Pm me. Or message me on Telegram @MrConkel Payment is available for this project but is very limited. More details can be discussed after you pm or message me. Appreciate your time..
I like this recovery. It works with encryption in android 10. However, it did not work with encryption in android 11! Is it only me?
Hello!
Received an Oneplus 5T from China a few days ago, (still) running OxygenOS 9.0.9 A5010_43_191008. Gonna install some custom ROM as usual, so just unlocked its bootloader.
Saw this post about OrangeFox recovery, and considering what I've been reading in the [OFFICIAL][RECOVERY] [TWRP] TWRP for OnePlus 5T thread I feel like I'm going to put my faith in this recovery.
I have a question, though. According to what I read in the TWRP thread, the custom recovery gets killed by the stock ROMs. Is this serious?

curiosity. I guess that means I should straight install my custom ROM of choice just after the recovery, period.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, by the way.

[ROM][11.0][UNOFFICIAL] Nexus Stock for 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 [SM-T510]

Well, we're finally getting some relatively stable builds of AOSP GSIs and OpenGApps for Android 11.0, so here's my first effort at migrating the Nexus Stock custom ROM for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.0 [SM-T510] to the latest Android OS release. It's very much a work in progress, but it should hopefully help blaze the trail for even better work.
Notes:
The current process may require you to reset to factory defaults to remove file-based encryption. Remember to backup your data!
Custom kernels are specific to OEM releases, and are generally based on the latest update for the SM-T510. Note that the bootloader in this release has roll-back prevention.
The system is based on eremitein's CAOS GSI project with the latest Stock variant from OpenGApps.
The properties now correctly identify the device as a tablet, and so the Google Dialer is no longer installed. I've also disabled the Emergency button, but SetupWizard still insists on reminding you to insert a SIM (sigh!).
This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you should be able recover from any problems...but nothing is guaranteed.
Not working:
Support for file-based encryption
Cold charging (low power mode) animates to about 39% and then reboots.

I haven't been able to root any ROM based on AOSP 11.0...even the S variants that include su , but I'm not really an expert on rooting.
Yep magisk not working for me also, thats a shame because it's quite smooth overall, hoping for it to work in the next updates
For my Samsung mobile device I see on the XDA forum that Magisk is included in the ROM and isn't allowed to updated when a new version is released, only the Magisk manager could be updated.
I am afraid that installing seperate as on Android 10 isn't possible anymore.

The problem with that is that there is no Magisk Manager in Play Store with this ROM.
edit: Something appears to be going on with Google and Magisk and it is NOT just with this ROM or even this device. Apparently Google has not only removed Magisk Manager from the Play Store but have done something to keep it from giving root privileges all together!!!
re-edit: I apologize. I panicked. The problem appears to be with this device and the latest version of Magisk and with this ROM and Magisk. I can get version 20.4 to work with other ROMs, but it hangs with this one.
- scratched -
If anyone finds a version of Magisk that works with this ROM, please post it. I've tried V20.4, which causes a hang during boot, and V21.4, and 21.2, which boot but don't work.

Magisk V20.4 isn't for Android 11+. Therefor you have to install V21, but unfortunately is this not working.

1)
maybe there a bug with Wifi and connections with WPA3 (with PMF), only WPA2 is working here.
But this is a weak statement, cause I'm running a Beta FW on my Router (FB 7590) with some wifi bugs in the past. - I mean my Galaxy S4 with LOS 18.1 hadn't that - I'm not sure -
- EDIT-
Release Router FW arrived today: same result.
2)
my arranged apps/icons in the bottom line are resetted to the default google after an reboot.
whereby:
removing some google apps out of the bottom line will survive a reboot, all other arrangements won't.
e.g. I removed nearly all google apps and left only the outer left and right (see the above 1st screenshot) and dropped installed apps in the free place.
turns out: only the google apps (playstore + camera) are there after an reboot.
could someone check that ?

Sorry, I don't have a SM-T515 and it doesn't share the same kernel as the SM-T510. I've tried building ROMs blindly before, and you really can't do it without hardware for testing.
hi,
you wrote : "Ensure matching OEM build (e.g. T510XXU3BTK1) is installed"
My actual OEM is T510XXU4BUA1 which is newer than 510XXU3BTK1.
So each time i try to flash , I've got the message SYSTEM REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE : 4 BINARY : 3 (VENDOR).
I understand that i need to downgrade to T510XXU3BTK1. Is it possible to downgrade inside ANDROID 10 from an OEM 4 bits to an OEM 3 bits? How to do this?
Found the solution. Flash with heimdall orange fox recovery + multidisabler + RR custum ROM then full wipe + nexus custom ROM. All is working, good job, nice fast ROM.

INSTALLATION
Before first install: flash and boot into the TWRP provided in this thread, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions, then flash the ROM, GApps and root (if needed).
Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.
When updating from previous builds, simply dirty flash the ROM is enough, decryption in new TWRP works now
Recommended GApps: MindTheGapps provided in this thread.
KNOWN ISSUES
Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui
Currently, LOS isn't feature complete yet, so some things, buttonn, advanced menù etc. may be still missing

Status: Stable
Current Stable Version: 1.2
Stable Release Date: 2023-05-06
ALL CREDITS TO DERF ELOT AND THE OTHER DEVS BEHIND THE ROM, I'M ONLY POSTING IT.
---------------------------------------
Changelogs:
v1.2 (2023-05-10):
- Updated to T QPR2 release (LineageOS upstream)
- Updated to May 2023 Security updates (both ROM and kernel)
- Our kernel now includes updates by CIP and is up-to-date with tag st40 - thanks also to Flamefire for help with some of these (1)
- Reduced zram size to 25% (1gb) of out total RAM to have more to use freely
- Updated BT stuff for QPR2 (maybe offloading is working again? needs confirmation)
- Added the option to reflash the mbn via OpenCS (see Xperia Parts) - thanks also to shank03 & Flamefire (2)
- Fully enabled IMS on Congstar Germany via overlay on lilac
- Possibly some battery/performance optimizations here and there
- Fixed Android Auto support
- Added new LineageOS "Charging control hal" for battery charging care (3)
- Maybe more I forgot...
(1) The CIP kernel includes fixes for issues and security vulnerabilities from 4.14 kernel (see https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/cip/linux-cip.git)
(2) A somehwat lengthy explanation: This option is off by default on fresh installs. When upgrading, this should be enabled because we enforced this for everybody previously. However, this option is only required for certain carrier mbns that enable IMS. Personally, I know that the O2/Telefonica Germany mbn needs this, otherwise you get a crashing modem at every boot (unless you switch to 3g before rebooting and back to LTE after boot). I generally recommend playing with this option, and if you don't need it (e.g. modem doesn't crash on boot), just keep it off - like mentioned before, this is now the default behavior of OpenCS on fresh installs anyway.
(3) This is not finalized or merged upstream is LineageOS yet, but seems like a nice feature to have and test drive already. Some bugs may be possible.
v1.1 (2023-01-08):
Updated to T QPR1 release (LineageOS upstream)
New default camera app (LineageOS upstream) - yes, we cannot change video fps currently (thanks Sony!)
Any other updates by LineageOS upstream
Kernel security updates (also thanks to Flamefire)
Dropped keyprovd service - it is useless on unlocked BL anyway
Show 4G instead of LTE icon - saves some space too
Enable IMS by default - this still only works if carrier is supported
Fix some selinux denials (also thanks to Flamefire)
Fixup ViLTE dependencies - this might in theory work again, but it's not enabled yet
v1.0 (2022-10-02):
Initial release
Can’t wait to try it !!! Thanks tux
Can i flash this using old twrp version like 3.6.2 - 9?
The rom is great but every time the device reboots and finishes the boot animation it repeats one more time boot animation.
According to the picture, I can't scroll down as usual, can only use those 4 buttons @@ until rebooting (I had landscape rotation to watch youtube then rotate the screen again when the video ends and it's like that
).
rarely but the sound doesn't play even if i keep the volume high or switch to listening to music or watching youtube until the device is restarted
(sorry if I said wrong or wrong grammar, I'm not very good at English. )

By default android protect (encrypt) your internal memory. TWRP lacked decryption for a long time, now its supported. This means, with new recovery, you can see and manage your internal memory via TWRP using your lockscreen password. Before, you simply can't.
The fingerprint sensor doesn't work, auto brightness is also not working, does anyone know how to fix it
Each time I reinstalled a rom, some function which worked just fine on that rom stopped functioning, do you guys know how to prevent this
This is a very good ROM. Good for daily use. Didn't encounter any problem. Can't wait for the Pixel Experience Android 13.

I guess you have some missing files or something like that. Try reflashing stock rom and persist.img, something wrong with your files.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but what is the difference between the twrp provided here and the 'stock' twrp from twrp.me? Will both work?
Nice room
great work

Both works but this one should be able to decrypt internal memory. No idea if the one from twrp.me does the same or if its the same file.

Also thanks for the ROM!
Hi there,
I'm a complete noob on XDA, but I just flashed this TWRP (twrp-3.6.2_12-0-20221002-poplar) over another TWRP (twrp-3.7.0_9-0-poplar) and now, when entering recovery mode I get stuck in loading screen of teamwin Recovery Project 3.6..2_12-0
I can get out of loading screen by pressing all buttons, and device turns off.
I rebooted into fastboot and flashed back the 3..7 TWRP and now things are back to normal.
Any sugestions on what I can do to install this TWRP?

So, I was able to install lineage-20.0-20221002-UNOFFICIAL-1.0-poplar.zip from this post using TWRP 3.6..2_12-0, without problems.
Did not try to flash twrp-3.7.0_9-0-poplar again.
Is there a thread with future requests? I would like the default browser not to default to google, as the whole point for me is to de-google my phone.
Hi, so I've been absent from Custom Roms for the last couple years - since I got my XZ1 and the DRM key extraction was too much of a hassle for me as I didn't miss much from the stock rom.
Since I got some spare time over the years I was thinking to finally tackle that topic, but I have two questions:
1) The opening post says this

Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui

is it even still relevant for me to back up my DRM keys / back up the TA partition if I don't want to go back to stock? what camera are you using then? is the quality comparable? is slow motion still possible?
2)
i know that in the past, safety net checks were just looking for bootloader / root, but they changed to checking if the ROM is signed with a proper signingkey, right? is this rom signed with a non-test-key?
I've got a couple of banking apps on my phone and it would obviously prevent it from being a daily driver if they were not supported anymore :/
Thanks in advance!
New LOS Update 1.1 is here! Enjoy!

By default the browser isn't Google Chrome afaik, so i don't see the problem. Also, tbh, this makes no sense considering Android=Google. Chromium is builded inside the ROM,is part of the ROM,so once you install Android, you are installing something from Google. So i don't get it.
If you don't install gapps, then you don't have Chrome as default browser. Otherwise, flash gapps and remove Chrome.
