Semi Adoptable Storage / Sd default install Samsung j7 perx oreo 8.1 - Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Guides, News, & Discussio

Hey I saw your post in the root essentials forum . I was having same problem . I have Samsung j7 perx j727p. When it was on nougat I had root and adoptable storage . I updated to oreo 8.1 Feb 2019 . I got twrp and root working . I've tried root essentials but have same problem as you . I did set sd card as default storage but it didn't work . I've tried xposed framework, and adb , build prop editor , all kinds of stuff.
I found External 2 Internal root apk . I didn't get the results in videos I watched. I've downloaded 3 large apks and using es file explorer see that they went to sd card with just a small amount going to internal . Oh forgot to mention I moved my emulated folder to my sd card to see if that helps .
With that External 2 internal apk I tried swapping numbers of my public card 179,65 with my internal sd 179,64 . That didn't seem to work.
Tonight I changed the Original Internal Mounting point which was /mnt/sdcard, to /mnt/storage/XXXX-XXXX where X is the number of your external sd card . I then hit swap . Now my playstore apps are going to sd card. Device storage doesn't show it as internal memory , but es file explorer shows which one is getting the largest part of the apk . I also restarted phone and it still works . This is closest to adoptable I've gotten .
Oh on side note the App manager apk shows that the new download can be moved to sd card but most of it already is on there. Hope that helps .

I had to format my data after making some foolish changes to my phone . Luckily I had just backed it up with Samsung cloud. It took awhile and when I turned on phone I had even more internal data as everything was on sd card . However when I tried downloading my internal memory started decreasing . I went to External 2 internal app and did my setting . It didn't work !
I just got it back working. I think it is combination of all I had done including Xposed framework . I have some pictures of apps and settings .

Shows my adoptable storage in My files and Drives apk
In the Drives apk its showing my storage card number under phone internal pic and the phones actual internal is shown under the micro sd symbol. I thought was cool . I have 128 gig sd card now showing as internal . Hope this helps some people . Im going to try on my gf phone later .

adoptable sd
hello, could you explain to me how you got the adoptable memory, I have j7 on android 9, I will try your process

Curious what model of J7 do you have ?
Ok I found that its Xinsternalsd module that works . I use Xposed installer , activate that module and reboot . You need to be rooted. Oh I tried Edxposed through magisk , you need riru core and other riru module . It actually made the stock storage setting show it as internal memory . Im deciding best method . When I used Edxposed sometimes other apps would cause it not to work and sometimes sd card said corrupted so you just pull out and back in . The Xposed framework seems more reliable but think harder on your sd card .
Oh you need to be rooted , have twrp or a flashing program . You flash Xposed installer with twrp . You then use installer to flash the modules. Do not use both Edxposed framework as Xposed cause your phone may not boot fully .

I had some problems with this but have course corrected. I am on stock oreo rooted magisk. I used xposed installer and Xinstallsd . It made my files app show combined storage but 100 meg games were downloading to sd but installing and moving to internal. So I used adb shell on get-install- location , it said 0 auto. So downloaded root essentials and set install to sd . Then ran adb again and it read 2 external. I then downloaded pubg a big game and only 175 megs went internal and the other gig and half to external ! I then did 100 meg game and it went on internal . So I think you can see benefit for bigger apps , not so much for smaller ones.

[Q] How to install apps in my SD card ?

Hey guys.
As you might know , we , kitkat 4.4.4 users can't install app in our sd card , so I'm here to ask if someone know a way to get the possibility.
I'm pretty new into phones and android , so it's a bit confusing for me. Do I have to install a custom ROM ? Do I have to wait for lolipop ?
Good night.
U will have to root ur device then install folder mount app to move all your data to SD card
Even though you have to inform yourself first very well, using Xposed and a module called XInternalSD works perfectly for apps that can occupy a lot of space on the Data folder, which can be just moved to the External SD Card.

App Manager does noy have option Android 4.4.2 kitkat (plz read)

I have a MTK 6572 based smart phone with android 4.4.2 installed as stockrom.
The problem is that i don't have an option in App Manager to move my apps to Sdcard.
Instead of having "move to sdcard" option i have "move to "phone storage" option.
Basically there are two option in my App Manager
1. Move to Internal Storage
2. Move to Phone Storage
If an app is installed in Internal storage then the option 2 is present there and i can move to phone storage
And if i installed app on phone storage then option 1 becomes available.
The problem is that even i insert sdcard still i have the same two options in App Manager and no MovetoSdcard option.
And secondly my Phonestorage is mounted as Sdcard0 and External Sdcard as Sdcard1 whenever inserted.
So apps can only be installed to Phone Storage as External Sdcard does not swaps as Sdcard0.
And there was write restriction on Sdcard which i fixed editing Platform.xml file which was the only success but still
move to Sdcard is not there.
I have tried XinternalSd to swap phonestorage with external storage but still it didn't work.
I am attaching pictures to make my point clear.
Plz help.
Your issue is that the os doesn't support apps to sdcard. One of the issues is I'm betting it's a hacked together version of Android as most of those devices use them.
So it means there is no solution to it?
Pretty much yes. Without ripping the whole OS apart and without kernel source there is nothing that can even be looked at
I have backed up my rom using mtk tools
Now what can i look for fixing?
You ha e to rip the whole OS apart and make changes to the kernel. But I am betting you won't find the source for it as they are known for violating the GPL laws
So i think then i should leave it as it is
And buy a new fone after saving money
Thanks for the help.

If you wiped your internal storage, you will get empty message only...!
If you have other problem, describe it in detail
Yes i am facing problems.
File managers show the internal empty but if i search a particular file/folder it works fine. (i.e. i hav to use the search function of the file manager every time i want to see anything from internal)
I can move/copy from internal to sd card but am unable to do the vice versa(sd card to internal). Basically i cannot write on internal now. So i cannot enjoy playing games(modded) with obb files.
The Google play music thumbnails seem to disappear some how.
WhatsApp seems to crash frequently. Some other apps crash too. (I have a friend with the same phone rooted, with the same stock rom version and with the same whatsapp version working just fine).
I cannot even download any photo from chrome as it saves in internal by default. It shows an error message!
And all of this is happening just from the day i wiped my internal.
Need help. How to undo this?

[TUTORIAL] How to solve low internal memory problem on J5

Hi Guys. Many of us are facing low internal memory problem on Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015 Models). After installing few apps and games the internal memory becomes almost full. Ever wished that if we can move apps data files and games obb files to Sd card. Well now we can do it by simply installing xposed framework and few xposed apps.
In this tutorial I am going to tell you how to move apps data file, obb files etc to sd card. Follow the instruction given below.
Requirements:
1) Rooted J5 phone.
2) TWRP recovery installed
3) Xposed framework installed.
Procedure:
1) If you did not meet above given requirement than go to the link given below and download TWRP, Supersu, Xposed. Flash TWRP via Odin and root using Supersu zip and install Xposed.
2) Now open xposed and go to download and download two xposed apps (i) Obb On Sd (ii) XInternalSD.
3) After installing these two apps go to modules section an activate these modules and reboot your device.
4) Once you device is rebooted open obb on sd app and enable (i) Data on SD and (ii) Detect SD on Android 5/6.
5) Now open XInternalSD app and enable (i) Custom path to internal SD Card (ii) Full access to external SD card. In path to internal SD card there should be /storage/extSdCard/. If it is not than make it. Now you can enable it for all apps or enable it for particular apps using enable for apps option.
6) That’s it now you can move your games obb files to SD card/Android/obb and data files of apps to sd card/Android/data. Your games and apps will read those files from sd card.
7) Enjoy.

You have to manually move obb file and data files from internal memory/Android/obb and internal memory/Android/Data to SD card/Android/obb and sd card/Android/data.
So I can select ALL data files and move them;
Ps I :have only 4 or 5 obb files and many too ment data files
I can move them all??

Yes select and move data files and obb files of apps that you want to move from internal memory to sd card in respective folders. Move one app at a time and check if it works than move another and so on.
it seems that i do something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!
from storage-->emulated-->0-->Android --> data--> (this is my internal storage)
i move to storage-->sdcard1-->Android-->data. ( this is my sd card)
But after i start a programe (lets say facebook) it works but when i check again the storage-->emulated-->0-->Android --> data-->
i find the com.facebook.orca .
the same think is NOT happening to the storage-->emulated-->0-->Anroid-->obb-- (thanks God)
i did move data and obb only from this folder storage-->emulated-->0-->Anroid-->
i should move and others?
is this trick working ?? somebody report here. i need to do the same on my j500f

Try to use root explorer to move files. And yes all application might not work but big games and some apps files will work . And why do you want to move apps with small size, they do not consume lot of memory so its better to keep them on internal memory. If you have any apps with larger size than try to move them. Hope it will help. Do let me know if you need more help.
Is it necessary To keep these Tow modules after doing this?
Low internal memory problem of J5 can be solved effectively with Partition. External sd card can be partitioned and a part of the sd card can be converted into internal storage. There are many apps for doing this.

i have tried this using mini partition tool, i formatted my sdcard partion to ext 2 but when i inserted the card to the device it showed as corrupted sdcard. also link2sd didnt work. i tried reformatting the sdcard to ext4 but the same problem. it is most likely because of MM.
if you have a working way to get this done on MM j500f, kindly share with us. i am in desperate need of this, and want to download big games.

Sorry i can't give you a step by step guide because i haven't tried it myself on MM. I have only read about it. But you can try two things - Firstly try the app 'Apps2sd' and secondly if the app does not work then you can try adb command line method which has helped many people. Adb method has a higher chance of success. If these two methods also don't work then i think it's impossible to do it now.
its not working on modern combat 5

[SM-J210F] [Link2SD] Internal & External storage NOT FOUND

I own a Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 [SM-J210F], Rooted with SuperSU, Runs Stock Marshmallow ROM, Runs Xposed perfectly.
I have been using Link2SD.
For reinstalling Link2SD for better performance, I unlinked all the apps, and then, uninstalled Link2SD and Apps2SD, WITHOUT DELETING THE MOUNT SCRIPT.
Now my phone does not recognise my SD card and INTERNAL STORAGE.
I also use Xinternal SD :
- When it is Enabled, ES File Explorer prompts "265A-2A17"(My SD card) is not found
- When it is Disabled, it prompts "storage/emulated/0" is not found
. . .Therefore ultimately proving that the Internal Storage is not recognised...
I cannot access my Media files in the SD card.
I cannot download anything.
I even tried the "Factory Reset" option in the Settings menu... Problem remains the same.
Still didn't try flashing stock ROM via Odin3...
Explanation and Help in this issue are needed...

or something similar.
Anyways after flashing Stock ROM with Odin3, the device is fine . . . : )
Developers, kindly look after this issue . . .
