*** First set up adb in your pc or laptop. Download the "adb setup .exe" file from xda. Search Google for "platform tools" zip file and download it. Twrp recovery image file is to be downloaded according to your model (Here it is vince).
After install adbsetup.exe you have to extract the platform tools zip file. Now power off your phone. Hold volume down and power button to get Fastboot logo. Open the adbsetup and type "y" every time.
In platform tools folder open the command window and type "fastboot devices" to check whether your device is connected. Then type "fastboot boot <recovery path>" it will boot into twrp recovery. Install twrp recovery image file and lazyflasher.zip with magisk zip. Now boot the system.

Thank you for your help :good: I have some doubts I hope you have time to respond. My Redmi 5 Plus is unlocked, but I can not use anything related to My Account. Can I follow this method that you published? I understand that this method unlocks the "bootloader" and installs TWRP. Right? Is it possible to already prepare a file with a custom rom on an SD card and then install it?

If you unlocked the bootloader, you should not face this problem. Check whether your bootloader is properly unlocked.

You said your device's code name is whyred. I can see you flashed orangefox recovery for lavender. I've tried my said method in Redmi note 5 (vince) and Redmi note 5 pro (whyred). If you have Redmi note 7 (lavender), use another method.

Unable to install TWRP on the 4x Mido

hey so, as the title says, i'm currently unable to install the recovery on my phone and have been trying for the past 3 hours or so now :/
Phone's unlocked, adb and fastboot are working ecc.
but whenever i try to flash the TWRP recovery or even boot it i get the FAILED (remote: 'size too large') error and idk what to do about it.
It worked weirdly with the nikel recovery but even then it installed badly and wouldnt let me flash mido roms for whatever reason and yes im 100% sure my phone is a 4x with a snapdragon.
Thanks to anyone that replies and tries to help

So, downloaded the ADB and Fastboot tools, downloaded TWRP, went to the CMD and changed the directory to the adb.
From here i just used the adb reboot bootloader command to get into the fastboot.
Next i used the fastboot flash recovery x.img command to try to flash it but didnt work simply giving me a "FAILED (remote: 'size too large')" on the last part.
I even tried the fastboot boot x.img command.
Also yes when i said flashboot prieviously i meant fastboot mb

Which rom are you using currently? If it is android nougat based then read below, if higher the commands are a bit different I guess,
That is the same way i did it but it might be cause you are flashing wrong recovery.
Try this one :-

Let me know if it works.

Working?
Is this custom recovery working because I'm afraid to flash it?
Looks like is not working... I've flashed this recovery because I want to flash the latest Carbon Rom and when I enter on recovery, it just reboots the phone. I had to reinstall my old recovery and now is working again. I'll try to find another version.
Best regards.
I was able to install this recovery. Unfortunately, adb sideload does not work for me. Whenever I start adb sideload, adb on my computer cannot see my device anymore. As soon as I leave adb sideload, adb works again and lists my device as expected.
Is this a known bug? Or has anyone a solution to this problem?
I am using adb version 30.0.3-6597393 with adb-bridge version 1.0.41 on Windows 7. I installed the original Sony adb drivers from the Sony developer website.

Hello again,
I was wrong, is working fine but you have to check if works in your phone. If you have unlocked the bootloader just enter into fastboot and flash it as FOTAKernel or recovery. If doesn't enter into recovery and it just reboot the phone, don't panic, because always you can use the fastboot mode to install an old version. I've fixed this problem using the Emma software from Sony (aka Sony Flash Tool), and installing the latest version (WARNING: all data will be erased).
If you have an updated version of Android (mine was Carbon 6.1 and that is why it failed), then maybe you'll not have any problem.
EDIT: I recomend you to flash one version of the TWRP as "recovery" (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img), because it works even when the phone won't boot. My phone was not booting and it just vibrated without showing the Sony logo, so I was not able to enter to the FOTAKernel recovery, and this recovery was always working allowing me to recover the phone.
Best regards.
Flash to boot only
I currently have TWRP 3.2.3 and am using Carbon Rom 6.1
I downloaded it and rebooted to recovery. When I went to flash the only option is flash to boot.Nothing else.Thank you for taking your time to reply.I am not going to flash this because in about a year I will get a new phone and I don't want to hard brick my Z3.
Thank you and best regards,
Nasion G.

"fastboot reboot recovery" doesn't boot into the twrp
Instead it boots into the system
But if I boot the phone with "PWR+VolDOWN" pressed, I reach the working TWRP.
Thank you!
I can confirm the above:
command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-z3-20200212.img
optional command: fastboot reboot -> turn phone off
Press "PWR+VolDOWN" to start your phone into TWRP
Install your ROM via MicroSD - possibly sideloading works as well, haven't tried
twrp-3.3.1-z3-04.img support os 17.1 restore function.
Only after restore, flash one file[fix_rootfs_label.zip].
Code:
sony z3 os 17.1 TWRP v3.3.1-0.4_Z3
Download

How did you remove it? I got a bootloop too after installing Magisk from SHRP and I can only go to fastboot, but when I flash SHRP again the bootloop is still there and it won't go into recovery anymore.

Hello, I followed this procedure and my phone (Redmi 9) got stuck in a bootloop, I can't even get into fastboot anymore. I might be able to recover it using EDL however, but most likely I will have to send it to authorized repair. RIP.
Update: Not even the guy I sent the phone to repair could fix it, RIP.

I have attached the unbricking tool here. It worked for me. If you just chose the correct CPU architecture, it will work for any mediatek phone.
The above guide was for Shiva(Poco M2) not for Redmi 9.
Hmm.. I can't seem to flash the official firmware with this recovery. It just shows an error when flashing it. I am on PixelPlus UI 12.1.

Question Corrupted Boot Img

Hey,
My boot image seems corrupted, i just accidentally flashed the stock ROM wrong.
Now i cannot boot into fastboot nor system, i only have the stock recovery with unauthorized adb.
Is there any hope getting my 2 day old phone back to life?
My condolences, I was in the same situation too. Is your phone under warranty?

If flashing/rooting/unlocking doesnt void warranty on oneplus, then yes, i just got the phone 2 days ago.
I can't flash anything as its not possible to get to fastboot nor adb, while bootloader is unlocked tho.
I already requested repair from oneplus and waiting on an answer, also i purchased a fresh one from amazon which will be delivered today.
All i wanted was https://github.com/LuigiVampa92/SystemEdxposed but Oxygen doesn't seem to have init.d support, i need system edxposed because my banking app always finds magisk even with valid safetynet.
PS: If someone got the scatter file for Nord 2, then i could flash stock again by SP Flash.
Also since i'll get a new phone, i just ask here if anyone knows an app or something to send AT commands to the mediatek.

Do you not get into bootloader fastboot mode if you power up the phone with Vol - and Power button keys?
Nope, it also shows just like on system boot the corrupted boot message.
All i have access to is stock recovery with unauthorized adb and MediaTek COM Port which i could use to flash but i need a scatter file for that.

I just have to get an Indian Reseller to get access to the tool.
Then I can dump full scatter and replace broken images from stock.
I got the tool and im dumping scatter ROM now, ill upload working scatter after im done.
My phone is now fully restored.

Well, I downloaded SP Flash Tools v5.1524.00.000 from SP Flash Tool Site. I downloaded Scatter file from previouse post here. And I add it to only one full image, which I found, on MEGA (7,43GB).
It's very sad, because I bought OnePlus Nord 2 5G, yesterday.
My situation is the same. When I push VOL- and Power I get recovery, where is unauthorized ADB, well I am not able to restart Nord 2 5G to fastboot/bootloader mode.

I got info that I have to push both VOL+ and VOL - with Power (3 button at once) for enter to fastboot/bootloader.
It was self relocked. I had to unlock it again and after that I was able to flash vbmeta2.img again. The phone is working. But I have 3 problems.
1.) Camera not works.
2.) I am not able to updates = flash from A.07 to A.11 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-nord-2-oxygen-11-3-dn2103-eea-rom.4331695/post-85615147 = update_07_auf_09.zip, update_09_auf_10.zip, update_A10_auf_A11.zip).
- With TWRP:
- With stock recovery where show this for few second and back on Android I got message that update failed.
3.) With SafetyNet patch (Magisk Hide Config Props) I pass with SafetyNet test, but in Google Play the devices haven't Google Certification and from that reasons I am not able to use Google Pay.
I will try erase all partition (for total death of phone = display will not show anything after push power button) and send it to repair, when I bought it new on Thursday afternoon.
e.g.:
dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/block/sdc49 (boot)
dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/block/sdc30 (boot_para)
dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/block/sdc50 (vendor_boot)
Same problem here...
Does anyone have an account on Unlocktool.net to share?

Recovery dont stick, can fastboot

My poco f1 its boot looping, it stick with the logo of poco and dont move to miui, had the stock miui rom of course bootloader unlocked. i can fastboot boot to twrp 3.6.2 then i flashed twrp without the issue, at twrp i can look what i got in the internal memory, at first i thought my miui corrupted, so decided to start fresh and flash miui eu last stable version, of course had to format, then wipe, when i flashed the rom no issue or error, but then after reboot still the same boot loop, tried to go to recovery and sometimes its hit or miss.
In the end the phone its not working fatsboot works completely but booting to system its not, and booting recovery works when its connected to the pc
Seriously dont know what to do

Just create an empty file named [email protected] in the log folder
try a version of miflash corresponding to the year of your phone.

try a version of miflash corresponding to the year of your phone or don't use Miflash, open the folder of the tgz file you extracted and use the Bat file"flash-all".
ok after following this advice
to deal with that error it flashed without issue
But sadly the same as before poco logo boot loop

You haven't flashed anything because you must have an error at the end of the flash since you don't lock the bootloader.
Again, try a version of miflash corresponding to the year of your phone or don't use Miflash, open the folder of the tgz file you extracted and use the Bat file"flash-all"
tried the flash_all.bat but this appear
