[GUIDE] How to Install any GSI ROM (Treble) Lenovo Z5 Pro GT [L78032] - Lenovo Z5 Pro GT Guides, News, & Discussion

How to Install any GSI ROM:
.Pre-Requirements
Pre-Requisite 1
Your device needs TWRP Recovery
if not TWRP do the tutorial to install HERE
Pre-Requisite 2
You need a ROM GSI (ARM64 - A/B)
------------------------------------------------
1) Go to TWRP Recovery
2) Remove DMVerity: Advanced > RM Forceencrypt > Check "Remove DMVerity" > Swipe to Confirm > Go back to main
3) Format Data: Wipe > Format Data > Type "yes" > Go back to main
4) Reset Recovery: Reboot > Recovery
5) Import the .img file to the device
6) Install the ROM: Install > Install Image > Select File .img > Select "System Image" > Swipe to Confirm > Go back to main
7) Remove Cache: Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Check "Dalvik / ART Cache" and "Cache" > Swipe to Confirm > Go back to main
8) Install Magisk: Advanced > Install Root > Swipe to Confirm > Reboot System
9) Wait for the device to reboot and finish (Note: the device would probably reboot twice)
------------------------------------------------
Optional: Gapps
1) Download Gapps (ARM64 - ROM Android Version - nano): https://opengapps.org/
2) Import the .zip file to the device
3) Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Check "System" > Repair or Change File System > Resize File System > Swipe to Confirm > Go back to main
4) Install > Select File .zip > Swipe to Confirm > Reboot System

Just tested Havoc-OS and LineageOS both work basically equally but Havoc-OS found it better, something else for me has a big problem with both and probably any GSI ROM: Fingerprint not work but still prefer GSI Rom than ZUI, because zui is very limited and bugged.

Thanks for the advice, i'm give it a try and see what's good or not.

Planning to get this phone, any chance of getting the fingerprint to work on GSI roms?

None I tried has it, but other than that pretty much everything else seems seems to work fine. Besides that, default global ROM is lightly-skinned so it's not bad (other than sub-par benchmark performance for SD855).

I have an issue with
2) Remove DMVerity: Advanced > RM Forceencrypt > Check "Remove DMVerity" > Swipe to Confirm > Go back to main
My TWRP setting that looks closest to this setting looks like this:

What should I do?

Back to stock rom form cm13

hello
I'm so confused.
Please help me how I'm going back to the stock (3.1.3) rom from Cm13 best way and safe.
Thank you
Download Oxygen OS 3.1.3 full ROM
Download MM based unofficial TWRP
Downloaded Modded SuperSU if you want root
You will require a PC with WinRAR & Notepad++, because as we are running custom ROMs the zipwill give an error 7 saying that The package is for OnePlus, this is an onyx, we need to remove that.
Don't worry, its super easy.
- Download the OOS3 zip, copy it to your PCs desktop
- Open it with winRAR, dont extract it, just open it
- There will be a META-INF folder, open it
- Then open com, then google, then android, there will be 2 files here, updater-binary & updater script
- Double click on updater-script
- It will ask which app to use to open the file, then select to open with Notepad++ (designate it from its installed directory if it isn't visible in the initial list)
- The file will look like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Delete the entire first line that starts with getprop
- Now it should look like this
- Now press Ctrl+S to save the file and close the window
- WinRAR will ask weather to update changes in the archive, say yes to that
- Let it finish its job
- Done !
Moving on the the flashing now...
Assuming you are using official TWRP with your CM13 now,
- Copy the modded OOS3 zip into your Device
- Boot into TWRP recovery
- Wipe system, data, cache & dalvik/art cache
- Flash the modified OOS3 zip
- Let it complete
- After it completes, press the wipe cache/dalvik button below
- Now reboot to system
- Complete the initial setup
- Goto settings, unlock developer options by tapping 7 times on build number in about phone
- Enable advanced reboot
- Then reboot to bootloader
- Flash the MM based unofficial TWRP via fastboot
- Remember to boot into this newly flash TWRP before booting into system so that it doesn't overwite it
- Done
Now you are on OOS 3.1.3, and have a working TWRP, you can proceed to flash SuperSU etc to gain root
thank you !
if I want to back to 2.2.1 and then Update ?
I not need ROOT / TWRP

Actually, you want to update to 3.1.3, right ? Then you don't need to go back to OOS2 then again OOS3, the method i gave above will work as intended, its tried as tested by many users along with myself.
As for not requiring Root, just dont flash the SuperSU zip.
Keep the TWRP, its handy.
Also, press the thanks button on bottom left corner of my post, no necessary to say it in the reply.
I need to go back to stock rom for Exercise responsibility
thank you again
Hello,
I followed these instructions and It worked perfectly. (Note that I was coming from CM13)
Thanks a lot !
Thanks for the great description!
A question, just in case, I would go back again go to CM13 , can i then just import my old backup via the modified TWRP, or I have to note something again?
Thanks in advance!

This is a test build.
RIL(fixed), Camera, Wi-Fi working. (Like all basic phone functions work)
Bugs:
-Long press on "Space" button in include Google Keyboard - reboot. Use others Keyboard.
-Initial Settings menu is freezing, says there is no SIM card (but sim working) - click to skip and get to homescreen.
-Equaliser setting in sound setting and in music after clicking crash.
-After installing MIUI not do a factory reset or clear /data, else bootlop.
I don't long test. Maybe something will not work.
As previously wrote, I can not devote the time (work, study...).
And I not professional developer (I just compare roms and move different files to my rom)
Therefore, I will be glad if someone make rom.
Thanks.

Instal. instruction:
1.Go to Recovery
2.Make Full Wipe (Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Chache, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Format System)
3.Install ROM zip file (Rom installing ~10 minutes)
5.In Initial Settings choose English language
6.After Initial Settings choose you need Language. ("Settings -> Additional settings -> Language & input -> Language")
7. On Home Screen select "SuperSU -> Settings -> Access -> Default access -> Grant"
8. Reboot
9. If you need Gapps, go to Recovery and flash it. (use OpenGapps, ARM 6.0, pico)
Wow, this is awesome, i love this rom, hope u can optimize it :like:
Thanks, please upload other upload centers like AFH or basketbuild
Is there any chance for kitkat based lbl version?
Please fixed root and Google apps & mi account, nice rom

Update: Fixing Gapps & Root
Link and tutorial in first post this thread.
Changes:
Root working, after instaling rom need set Grand access in SuperSU:
"SuperSU -> Settings -> Access -> Default access -> Grant"
Gapps can be installed.
Since some system applications are moved from "\System" to "\Data" (use symlinks):
Applications in "/system/app":
-GameCenter
-KingSoftCleaner
-MiuiSuperMarket
-PaymentService
-Updater
-XiaomiAccount
Now located in "/data/system-app/app"
Applications in "/system/priv-app":
-Backup
-Browser
-MiGameCenterSDKService
-MiuiGallery
-MiuiVoip
-Music
-SecurityCenter
-Settings
-SpacesManagerService
-YellowPage
Now located in "/data/system-app/priv-app"
(P.s Since now these system applications in \data", after installing MIUI not do a factory reset or clear /data, else bootlop.)
Include advance miui icon pack from miui.su
after flashing new version there is no music app and Gapps present there.....flash gapps after 1st boot if u want gapps:good::good:
Working on lbl phone?
NO...its only for Ubl...because this rom has cm13 as base ...and cm13 rom is only for UBL..
ROM's too heavy
Any lags? battery performance and others
New version clog boot for c5302 , not boot overstay؟
Sent from my Xperia SP using Tapatalk
Can't pass through setup wizard, choose language and it say "setting stop" and i can't contiunue, stuck at language page!
Initial settings of course freezing and sometimes restarted, but system not for me "setting stop".
Perhaps it is because settings app on last bild located in "/data", For example, if internal memoryCard
less than 400-600 megabytes, applications are not installed, since "/data" and internal memoryCard,
on our SonySP combined.
MIUI8 builds truth is very heavy (Considering that 50 megabytes of unnecessary libraries more removed in our case). Rom working quickly without application from Google. But with Gapps more slowly.
Need to remove/freeze the Chinese services or/and search Google Apps smaller.
Not recommended
Beautiful but unreliable
I saw many bugs in two days
Cant active developer settings (CIT in miui by tap kernel line in about 3 times)!
Xposed not working in rom?
Sent from my Xperia SP using Tapatalk
MIUI 8 is a very good ROM. It would be great if you or someone else optimize it without any bugs!
great rom needs development and i cant switch to LTE is that a bug too ?
thank you dvp , we want fixed bug this rom amazing

I think you need to boot android once before installing magisk right?
So far I'm really liking this ROM. Is there a way to enable the on screen nav bar?
The ROM is fine, but I wish it had gesture navigation on the virtual button.

Yes! System will bootloop if you flash without booting once.
Is there a way to enable the navigation bar? My home button doesn't work so I can't use the gestures to navigate in the OS
------
EDIT:
Found a way to enable the navigation bar. Just flash Magisk and install this MOD https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-enable-navigation-bar-disable-hw-t3831236
Reboot the device and the navigation bar should be enabled by default
Tested with fi?
