Screen protector - OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Questions & Answers

Does the 10x Zoom come with one of those pre-attached screen protectors like the Reno does? The Oppo website only mentions it for the Reno, not the 10x Zoom. If not, I will want to order something before the phone arrives next week.

Yes, it has a screen protector.

It comes with one already installed, But the edges dont stick very well. I had to replace mine with a better one.

May I ask what you got? Was it a tempered glass one? Are you happy with what you got?

Yes. Its glass. Got it on Amazon. While it works well it has a black border around the edge and cuts off about a millimeter of screen all the way around. The only other protectors I have are the wet apply ones but havent tried installing any of those yet.

Is that the Olixar one you got? If not, which one was it? Does it affect the fingerprint scanner at all?

[Q] Am I crazy or does the Mate 2 come with a pre-installed screen protector?

There's definitely something on the screen, I can see the edges. If so, did you all keep it or remove it and install a different (tempered glass?) protector? And if it's not something I'm supposed to remove, well...oops.
Yes! It definitely has one.
I still have mine and didn't take it off. I wish all phones came with one, because I have a hard time installing them with no bubbles.
Thanks. I guess I'm just used to companies nickel and diming you for every little thing.
When I got mine I took it off and installed a tempered glass screen protector.
I used the oem protector for a while but it got a few scratches so I removed it and now I am using tempered glass. I love the glass!

The first one I did was off on the edges so my case pushed it and was a problem. The second one worked flawlessly. I purposely bought a cheap one from China as a test before placing my better, more permanent one. Overall, no harder than other screen protectors. Watch a few videos first. Superbass made a good one.
I'll give it a watch. She's hell on screens. And busted an E970. Glass backs was a bad idea on those.

Screen protector

Hey everyone!
I read everywhere online that the 3/3T and the 5 share *very* similar screens. So similar, in fact, that they may very well have exact identical dimensions as well as being 2.5D.
So...with that in mind...
Anyone think the 3/3T screen protectors will fit the 5? Cases won't since the 5 is thinner, but maybe the SPs ?
Thoughts?

I think the phone is gonna have the same problem the 3t had. There won't be any good choices. Even the official one for the 5 has the same black border that caused blocked pixels on the 3t official tempered glass screen protector. Are those black borders really necessary?

Yeah, I know. For my 3/3T, I had finally *settled* on a Best Skins Ever (same as ZAGG) since it would stick everywhere and had no halo effet. Not glass, but still not so bad.
There's nothing out yet for the 5 so I was hoping to order another 3/3T Best Skins Ever for my 5.

does the "best skins ever" screen protector and the body protector stick on the 3T properly?
i tried tempered glass and regular screen protector but all came off on the edges because of the 2.5D.

It does. It's very nice, much more so than half-assed 2.5D glass protectors with halo and dot matrix effects.
Can't speak for the body protector as I'm only using their screen protector (I use a Spigen case for the body).
If you have ever used ZAGG protectors, they're the same.
They're a wet application, as well, so that's something to consider if you're not cautious.

Yes, same orange peel as ZAGG. I don't mind it too much, though, as it's not that bad, but definitely nowhere near as nice as a tempered glass SP.

I hear you on the orange peel... On my "flat" screened phones, I always use glass SPs, but since the OP3/3T were curved, I preferred orange peel over having ****ty halo effect and dot matrix and lifting corners and what-have-you...
I wished the OP5 would have a flat screen, but alas, it's not the case

So there's no perfect phone? I was looking at the S8, but I don't like the curved screens. The Oneplus isn't curved much is it? I'm very sensitive to light and have to use an anti glare screen protector or else my vision goes double.
I wonder if @intelliARMOR will develop a screen protector for the OnePlus 5. Got their products for my old Nexus 6P and the quality and customer support was simply amazing! I've seen they already have a protector for the 1+3, maybe they'll update their intelliGLASS for this occasion.

OnePlus screens have been working fine for me, however I simply wish it was easier to find decent glass SPs.

Agreed, their glass SP was perfect on my 6P. However, the 6P also had a flat glass screen, which the OP5 does not

I can confirm the official TGSP for the 5 has the same pixel blocking issue. I didn't own a 3/3T, but I did just look up the photo of what you mentioned, and sure enough, I've got the same issue. Wish Orzly would make a completely transparent one like their one for the OPO (rocked it from October 2014 until now and it's been perfect).

I've just gone for this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07HCF8XB3
I much prefer film protection over glass, as previously I found the tempered glass ones to be slightly less responsive, much worse for fingerprints and worse of all mirror-like reflection which for me ruined the beauty of an amoled display.
When I receive it and my device hopefully this Friday I'll post some pics/reviews

I found glass feels a lot better BUT back in the day when there was bezels and flat screens they were great. But now cause of the curved screens and lack of bezels etc they normally arnt full adhesive so never work as well. I've been using wet applied screen protectors for my pixel 2 XL. Get them from a company on eBay called screen Knight and there only 3.99, it's as good as the more expensive makes. They get a bit scratched and bumpy after 3 or 4 months but easy to replace. Reviews were so bad for the glass ones I didn't bother

i bought one of each protector of amazon and will return the worst ones , worth noting extreme skins based in the uk have stock of back skins for it and are shipping them now , i went with the black mate 20 pro and a black camo skin - epic combo
twilight model wasnt guaranteed where i ordered from and i want it friday , i also like the twilight version but think it might be to much for me after a few months , it also has a blue/green middle frame and that doesnt look as good with the black camo skin i like using on glass back phones

Plastic or tempered?
It should since it's an optical scanner. I see some of the screen protectors being advertised as fingerprint scanner friendly.

Can you write some links, where to get fingerprint compactible tempered glass please? (or brand name if it's jot possible) thanks
I had a tempered glass that had only adhesive around the edges, it was temperamental but worked half of the time. I took it off as it looks horrid
I could get it to work occasionally but not all the time with tempered glass so took the protector off, I wouldn't wast my money on another protector at the moment

I honestly tried with plastic protectors. I forgot how much I hate them lol
Is yours full glue or just glue round the edges?
And does the black bars overlap the screen or are no pixels covered at all?

You are correct, there is no purchase option. Its the manufactureres website. Its because im from Denmark, and the online store i bought it from is Danish.
Its only glue around the edges, but its surprisingly good, only a slight hint of a halo.
I mounted mine a little bit wrong, but if you take your time, and try to be very precise, there will be no overlap. The overlap on mine is tiny.

Just pull the trigger for the OEM one by Nubia. I can't confirm this but most likely 3rd party glass will lead to fingerprint scanning issues if used, like what happened when I used one for my Realme GT 2 pro.
I have the original plastic one after two months, but I bought the original one from Nubia for when it gets damaged, I recommend that and you are sure.
