I need TWRP and LineageOS ported to the A10 and i'll pay you for it! As the title states, name your price!
I want the full and complete package for the phone inc.: recovery, system, modem etc etc.. Basically, everything prepackaged for Odin.
you'll get paid via PayPal and you'll allow me to publish everything on xda-developers.com.
PM me if you’re interested.

[Q] p7500ruxkh4 Rooting and more

Ok here it is,
Im reading and reading about the rooting.
I tryed to synch my tab with kies to root my tab following this THREAD but it doesnt work
So I posted about it and someone suggested me to check the LOOK HERE THREAD instead
I have a p7500 16gb 4G(well in fact 3G++) and wi-fi (p7500ruxkh4)
Im in canada (quebec province) and am with rogers
data plan, locked sim
honeycomb 3.1
kernel is 2.6.36.3
Now i want to use some apps like titanium backup and some others that need a rooted tab and thats it. I dont want to change kernel or rom or whatever else.
In the LOOK HERE THREAD, there is 2 different P7500 rooting method, one for the 3G and one for the 4G.
On my box and in my "task bar" its says 4G but for what i know, its more 3G++ than real 4G, So WICH one of the tuto do i follow ?
Also, at http://www.samfirmware.com/ i cant find the stock firmware for my p7500ruxkh4
That mean that if i do wrong, i wont be able to recover as brand new. Any clues of where to find it ?
Now about CMW and Odin, since i just want to root, do i have to dl thoses programs ?
Also in the UNROOT tutorial, you guys talk about the filesfordummies, but for what i read, this file is for the p7510 and not for my p7500 right?
So if i want to UNROOT my P7500, what are the proper steps to follow ?
I know, theses are probably noob questions but after searching on the net and this forum, I couldnt find any clear anwsers so i think i should ask you guys first instead of trying and brick my tab.
There is 5 bold/underline questions. I hope some of you have all the anwsers.
Thanks in advance for your help
1. IMPORTANT: in the look here thread use the root package for the 3G model
the 4G/LTE version will cause your system to bootloop
2. DO A NANDROID backup of your stock install -- then you have that to go back to.
3. Team Overcome have a great guide and package: stock for restore and clean purposes, CWM for root usage and a very nice custom rom: see here
4. if you want a custom kernel, there is one by Pershoot and the modification by rego here which plays nice with Overcome and matches your 7500 very well.

I was wondering if you backed up your Stock Firmware? I am using some Europe firmware as of now because I was one of the unlucky who used the 4G unlock.

well, i rooted my tab and used rom manager to backup my actual rom. i dont know if it can help u.
another thing, i changed the hosts file in /system/etc/hosts to avoid ads in games or app.
since im not rally used to all this stuff, tell me if there is something i can do for you, and if so, ill help with pleasure
If you backed it up just after you rooted it should be okay, I should be able to load your Backup to get my rom back to normal and then Factory Reset to get it all cleaned off. Let me know if there is a way you can email or dropbox it to me in a pm.
It would be awesome!
check ur pm, if it work, just click thanks
Thanks alot. I'll click thanks and personally write a thank you note.
Just so you know you're likely to be asked to help other Canadians as well. As the firmware is apparently hard to come buy.

Leave some posts so I know it works OK, I'm new to this
It would be good if someone could post if this rom was ok, as have a T825 rom built with the same method that I cannot test, due to having a T820 myself. So speak up please
Thank you for this. Now I have to ask a couple of newbie questions. I've been exclusively in the Sony Xperia and Nexus worlds before, this being my first Samsung. In trying to figure out if the processes I've become familiar with are applicable to this device, using your ROM.
For instance, my Sony's were pretty easy after the initial root. Kind souls in the community took new releases and created a pre-rooted firmware with TWRP and SuperSU built-in. I could then just dirty flash the ROM from TWRP, sometimes wiping cache/dalvic, and like magic my device is upgraded with no loss of data.
Is this how it works with this AQF5 ROM? I'm starting with a rooted (@ashyx method) T820 with AQBB. Do I just download the rooted ROM to SD card, boot to TWRP, dirty flash and go?
Thanks again!
Hi,
Dirty flash should work, sometimes I try that first and if I get any strange behaviour, do a wipe and re flash then load the rest back with titanium backup. Make sure you have all your backups organised first before starting.
Let me know how it works out. The risk with the first option is something residual being left that may result in force closes or just defeating the purpose.
Just beware if for some reason it doesn't root DM verity will occur and you will be forced to format internal data so back that up to your external card too, before, just in case, shouldn't happen though. I have no idea how many others have used this yet as there have been no replies to say all ok

Not sure I can use this ROM in Germany, what kind of modifications are made? Would love to see some development
As long as you have the same model T-820 you can, some local variants have a local customisation but it's likely to be minor with this model. From memory when I set it up on mine all common languages were available, if that's your concern, make sure you have a twrp backup and you can always roll back
The only mods were as listed above, seems slightly quicker, perhaps the zip aligning, but it will allow more mods as they come along

I have always wondered about that. Flashing a base from another country. Like I live in the US so I always have flashed USA versions. You are
saying that I CAN flash this Korean version on my T-820 phone and have all working ok with English ?

For the record, I don't live in the us but bought mine from best buys whilst there, it was rooted within a couple of hours from memory,..... can't help myself ?.
I Flashed a firmware from another country after that,, just because it was a later series, can't remember which.
I use the Tweaked one as my daily driver, people seem to be finding that good. I have found the latest firmware now seems to carry out a full wipe, and I haven't managed to flash a rom over it yet, so reverted back to the Tweaked version I have.
It may require an update to TWRP
If you have any problems restore your backup, if you want to persist flash the firmware that its based on first,AQF5, then flash the ROM over it, with our without wipe.

[RECOVERY] TWRP 3.3.1-0 For P580 OREO Compatible! [UNOFFICIAL]

The long wait has come to an end.
This TWRP was built for P580, I cannot ensure that it works on other variants, but it should work on P585, please test it and tell me.
Your warranty is now void and all that..
This TWRP is only compatible with oreo, due to some mess Sammy did with the bootloader, it works flawlessly on oreo roms, stock and custom!
Proofie
Enough talking, here is the DL link: https://mega.nz/#!MJFlyQ7L!AcEEkbvw7aGMGLnAU8OPEVxiBhfFjThHNTvqx8CMbxQ
Use odin, put this tar file in AP, flash and you're good to go [If you're on stock rom, don't let the device boot to system as it will kill TWRP, overwriting it with stock recovery]
Remember:
You won't have access to data if it is encrypted, you'll have to format data, on the wipe menu, at the side of "Advanced Wipe" there is "Format Data"
If you plan on using the stock rom, remember to disable DM-verity
Btw, if you plan to stay on stock rom, but you broke knox and want secure folder back, try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-smali-patcher-0-7-t3680053
Please come back and tell us if it worked! (I didn't make it to work on my debloated rom)
Thanks @marky_p for writing instructions on how to install
What is working:
Everything except samsung encryption, and any <8.1 rom
Built with P580KXU1CRJ7 source, on minimal manifest twrp, android-8.1.
Sources available:
Device tree: https://github.com/unknowwiiplayer/android_device_samsung_gtanotexlwifi
Kernel: https://github.com/unknowwiiplayer/kernel_samsung_exynos7870
Instructions on how to build are on device tree's readme.md
Now please powerful devs, bring lineage 17 to us, please!!!
Reserved, because reasons
I love you ? I will test it asap on the P580!
Dang, the touch bug ist still there
Thanks very much for your work. I'll test it on my P585Y. Hope you can port android 9/10 oneui rom and lineageOs for these devices too.
I've tested twrp on my Tab A P585Y. It worked but sometimes touch is laggy and cannot do swipe action. Thanks very much for your work. Hope the next version better
Installed it on my P580 has all touch problems That plagued all the other TWRPs for this tablet. So I guess I wrong about The fact all the other versions were based off of the android Marshmallow source code as being the cause of that. That set aside it seems to work great with Oreo!!! Greatjob!!!

Thanks a lot
i tried flashing first time round on P585y
Twrp - worked fine - bit buggy/laggy on the swipe
flashed No Verity Opt Encrypt 6.1
then got stuck in this endless loop of booting - wouldnt even get to the samsung screen (still have access to download mode and recovery mode usning the associated button combination)
so i re-flashed stock firmware
re-flashed twrp
flashed supersu
again got stuck in the same endless boot loop......
any help how can i solve this?
Tried again tonight after flashing firmware ,
exact steps
Developer Options unlock Oem and allow USB Debbugging
reboot download mode
install SuperSU using ZIP (actually RAR file... would this make difference?)
went back to TWRP home menu
Reboot System.... STUCK in BOOT LOOP (doesnt even get to Samsung section - only gets to "Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 with S PEN powered by Android Page")
have waited 7 minutes now - still suck...
am i doing something wrong? is it because im using a P585y (lTE model)
i have noticed some unable to mount /data errors at times.
do i need wipe? clear cache/davlik? if so when in the process.

Could you please be more specific and tell us which GSI will work (Android 12, 11, or 10, and ARM64+GMS, ARM64, x86_64+GMS, or x86_64.). Thanks.
I want to unlock my bootloader and root my 3 iii but I have read something about needing to back up and restore DRM keys otherweise some camera features and other stuff wont work anymore. Is that something that needs to be done on this phone and also, what exactly is the GSI stuff? It looks like that is an entire rom or something. Do we need to flash/install that? I am fine with the stock firmware. Im out of my element with this Sony stuff.

Hey, the "Starter Pack" is just another Name for the Google Zip which includes GSI and vbmeta. We are on ARM64 and GMS means GApps are included. Please read a bit about how Treble and GSIs are working and start from there. x86_64 btw. is the Dekstop Platform (Like Intel or AMD PCs). Basic knowledge
Don't want to make this an Info/Wiki Thread or so...

That Informations are old and obsolete. Hardware works just fine after unlocking (On all Xperias since 2019), DRMs can be restored like i wrote in the Guide. We are using OLED HDR Displays. So don't care about Bravia or such stuff. Only Netflix and Video Enhancements aside from the Creator Mode are not working if unlocked. But AOSP is here and ROMs are also coming based on SODP and AOSP (With Mainline Kernels (Or GKI)) Please also read about Treble and GSIs before You start! It's a thing since Android 8 on all Android Devices. So it will be good to know! GKIs are also coming to all Android Devices soon...

Perfect. I tried to ask that before and was just told to read up on GSI. I asked what it was exactly and do we need to install it for the root process. By the way, it is not needed for the rooting process. I have successfully rooted the phone so thank you for the tutorial.
Just a suggestion, you should maybe add that after you flash the edited boot image to A and B and you reboot the phone, you will have to reinstall Magisk just to save some possible confusion as its no longer installed from being wiped during the bootloader unlock process.

Just a suggestion, you should maybe add that after you flash the edited boot image to A and B and you reboot the phone, you will have to reinstall Magisk just to save some possible confusion as its no longer installed from being wiped during the bootloader unlock process.

Hi sorry I'm still confused, could you copy over name of the exact zip you are saying we should download?

Which one is the "starter" pack.

The "starter" pack is just another name for either gsi_gms_arm64-...zip or aosp_arm64-...zip. If you want Google apps then you choose gsi_gms_arm64-...zip, if you do not want Google apps then choose aosp_arm64-...zip. Both of these zip files contain only the system.img and vbmeta.img.

Sorry I guess I'm a bit new to this, the phone will still be running a version of the stock rom after this guide with an unlocked bootloader and magisk right?

GSI means General System Image. Systems are the Main OS You are using. Flash a GSI and it isn't Stock anymore... Don't replace the System If You want to keep Stock!

Question Stock Firmware for Nord N20 5g? Bricked Phone

Hey everyone!
So I made a rookie mistake and bricked my Nord N20 5g. I tried flashing what i though was the correct boot.img but turns out it wasn't and now the phone will not leave fastboot mode. I tried looking online to find the stock rom but I wasn't able to find it. Does anyone have any info on this or a way to recover this phone model? Thanks!
Hey man . I'm glad you started this thread because I only just yesterday received my unlock token from OnePlus. I've been searching throughout the night for the stock firmware (and low and behold, of course I've got the one ****ing OnePlus model in the universe not listed on their official website.. let me know if you make any headway or have any developments and I'll do the same

Yeah it sucks lol I actually contacted support services seeing if I could get a copy of the stock ROM. Sadly, they just said it was unavailable for this device (they didn't give a reason) and that I would need to send in my device to get re flashed.
Do you think it would be possible for someone with a stock phone to dump theirs?
Yooooo

I have a dump of the phone, but i dont know how to make a flashable zip with it. i also have the ofp of the global or tmobile model {not due to a week of scouring} but cant seem to get msmtool to work without an account. also in flashing the wrong file i lost my efs folder so no internet connection what so ever. Here you are goodluck and please let me know if you get it going.

Yeah, sadly I don’t think there’s a well documented path forward. However you mentioned that you had dumped the stock phone? Would you be willing to share that and I can take a look and see if I can keep make a flashable zip

I'm onboard to do whatever I can do to help us all three facilitate the same need we all share..
Hi Bradley Scott, I mean, FoMarl,
I would gladly take a look at what you pulled off your phone and attempt to use it to get my Oneplus NORD N20 5g up and running again. I will happily share what I discover as a thank you. Can you zip it up and upload it to a file sharing service? Or send it to me? Thanks, John ( xda at johnpage.net )
My bad guys been a long weekend. Thought they uploaded last night.

nicoblue1504, any word on that twrp? I can't find a patchable boot.img or a stock rom to root and a little nervous about the lack of info regarding rooting this device.

I got you homie... :-*
I think I was able to magisk patch the boot image from the above dump. I'm still awaiting my unlock token, but perhaps someone wants to check? It's the us TMO variant.
Remember to only fastboot boot, not fastboot flash until tested further. It's not TWRP but it will still provide root access if successful.
Edit: Upon trying to upload, it goes to 22% and then stops. How do I fix this?
Couldn't upload. Here's a mega link

Does a dm verity or anything have to be flashed first? If so where would I find the appropriate file?
I wish I could answer that question but unfortunately I cannot, as I don't know. I was just able to extract the boot image and patch it. I'm still a noob so that question is above my head
So I flashed it and it killed my modems I guess. No sim, no wifi, no mobile data
