How to install Viper4Android? - Xiaomi Redmi 6A Questions & Answers

Did anyone have luck installing V4A on their phone through magisk? It doesn't work for me no matter if i also install Audio Modification Library or another version of V4A.

[GUIDE] Install ViPER4Android FX on MI MIX 2

Sup people. This guide is adapted from this one
First and foremost, I'd recommend that anyone who uses magisk installs this module
1. Freeze any other audioFX, musixFX, dolby service etc using titanium backup
2. Rename /system/ect/audio_policy.conf to audio_policy.conf.bak
3. Install Selinux permissive script thru magisk
4. Install busybox thru magisk or play store
5. Install v4a thru magisk repo or here. (IF not installed thru magisk, you must install it as a system app. Do this by moving it to /system/app and setting permissions to rw-r--r--)
6. Reboot
Profit

Bro, Arise Magnum Opus is an app?
Does it actually process though? That's been my big issue is viper says it is supported but never processing. Been that way ever since like Android 6 for me. Hit or miss processing. (never worked over a USB DAC). Does it process through the headphones with the dongle?
Edit: I installed the Arise Magnum Opus version of Viper.
It's a bit complicated. More than the standard flash a zip and have it work. But I got it working now. And processing through the DAC. My issue was it not processing GPM streams. Arise has a toggle for deep buffer for streaming that had to be turned off.

Viper4Android Abnormal

Installing V4A via Magisk v18 installs but then when run & checking the driver status on V4A it says "Abnormal" which does not let you use the enhancements at all to tweak your audio. Any help on this or if anyone has installed it fine or not?
Yea I had that happen as well. Not sure if this is what fixed it, but try installing busybox. if that doesn't fix it, leave busybox installed, and uninstall viper and reinstall from magisk. I choose 2.5.0.5 material theme. I also got xHifi working in a stacked sorta config, great for a speaker specific profile.
If its still not working, keep playing with it, it will eventually

I got it to install on Omni 11 but it doesn't work, sadly. Also a HUGE drain on the battery just having it installed. I'd say just stick with the built-in dolby stuff. Works better than I expected, although I do prefer V4A when it comes to headphones and sound systems.
Oh wow. That's a bummer. Viper4android is one of the main reasons why I still root my phones. The combination of dolby and viper on my OnePlus 7 pro is amazing.
yes it works and it works as intended. Complete the following steps to get it working and installed correctly. First you must download and install through magisk manager the audio compatibility patch (acp) after that install the newly updated viper4android zip from magisk as well and after it's done don't reboot just open the viperapp grant it super user permissions then it will install drivers and reboot automatically. Once booted back up your viper should be working normally

Unfortunately doesn't work for me. I'm on RR OS and tried numerous methods including the one you mentioned and it still keeps asking to install the driver again and again.. .

Viper4android

Has anyone got viper4android working on their N10?
Had issues with the drivers applying on GSI.
Using wavlet instead now.
First of all uninstall your current viper installation and any other mods installed. I used titanium backup to freeze both Dirac Audio Tuner app and Dirac Control Service. Not sure if this is needed but it may have helped. I installed Audio Modification Library and rebooted and installed Ainur Narsil both are in Magisk. Reboot again finally u install viper as well as the drivers. Reboot again then I uninstalled Ainur and of course reboot again. Then I figured out I had to enable Legacy mode for Viper to process anything at all so you'll probably have to do the same. I also installed Audio Compatibility patch since my Spotify wasn't processing. I rebooted and noticed intermittent audio stutter so I disabled Audio Modification Library and all is well now. Oh btw I'm using Viper 2.7.2.1 on Magisk.

Question [CLOSED] How to install Viper4Android

As the title says, is it possible.and how to successfully install Viper4Android to Renoir, running MIUI 12.5+, A11 - assuming that the phone is already rooted by Magisk
Or at least, how to successfully install JanesDSP
If you have already Magisk and rooted your phone, you can install the module of Viper with it.

Did you try and does it really work for you?
I've posted to Viper4Android thread with more details - Viper4Android apk can never find drivers:
- It asks to install drivers and to reboot
- After rebooting and reopening, Viper4Android apk again does not find drivers and asks to install and to reboot
- It can go endlessly
I tried with AML, by debloating' MusixFM, no avail
---
Similarly, I tried but cannot properly install JamesDSP
It's app always crashes, with exception saying that it cannot find drivers
Reported also to JamesDSP thread
---
In both threads there are several other users with the new A11 phones who report the same problems (cannot install Viper4Android, neither JamesDSP)
Frankly, I don't have Renoir - I have Lisa (Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE), with MIUI 12.5.8, A11.
Still, I wanted to ask if somebody with the similar Renoir (Mi 11 Lite 5G) succeeded to install V4A or JamesDSP?

The magisk module is not a apk. It't a zip file.

Sorry, I'm 5 years user of V4A, used successfully on 5 phones so far - I perfectly know what is Magisk, Magisk modules, V4A module, how it installs, etc
I'm talking about the Viper4Android application that installs with the module and serves for managing presets, kernels, etc
If you have practical advice how to install to the new MIUI release.(that you can prove that it works), fine - otherwise please let's stop wasting the time
Good night

Sorry, but I don't know you.
So, I answer according to the information you give in your message.
You have a problem installing Viper, I suggest you install it via Magisk. And you answer by talking about an apk file. So your answers don't make sense.
Now be nicer to people who respond to you and try to help you.
Good luck in your problem.
Solved by temporarily disabling USNF 2.2.1 - then JamesDSP installed correctly.
Later I re-enabled USNF and now both modules work correctly
Still I wasn't able to make V4A working
Anyway, closing the thread
