Armor Lighting case - ASUS ROG Phone II Accessories

Hi all,
I'm looking for the official Armor Lighting case for the ROG 2, but no luck so far.
Anyone found it for sale online anywhere?

At Giztop.com. https://www.giztop.com/official-armor-lighting-case-for-asus-rog-phone-2.html

Can somebody tell me what this Armor Lighting case can do? I don't find any information about this in the web... is the back a second display??

I found this video.
https://i.imgur.com/CYNWQxt.mp4
It seems to be just a background that lights up a little.
It's not a screen.

Yes, it is a LED powered backplate with cutouts for different Lighting effects, not a screen.
I'm however looking for a (third) variant not available on Giztop with some ROG logo graphics. The ones I see on Giztop are the two with some Chinese game design. Maybe it will be launched later.

Anyone got it yet?

Still looking...

The official armor case for Asus Rog Phone 2, covers the lower led on the back of the smartphone.
You can see 2 flashlight led on the right of the back camera.
The upper one is the flash, used in videos or when taking a picture, or even when the torch is on.
The lower one is used for the official armor (or third-part official case armor), to give the case a light effect.
The official armor case for Asus Rog Phone 2 has the words "Republic of Gamers" backlighted in all colours, just like the ROG logo does, without the official armor case on, or without a case.
The big question is this: if the first led is meant only for torchlight or flashlight, then why does it lights in many color as well, when the official/third-part armor case is on?!? Is this a precise will of Asus, or is it a bug???

Just bought one!
It’s now available on the Asus shop. Also the twinview dock as well.
I would add the link but it’s not allowed.

That armor case is not yet out in European market, yet. Even if I found it on a Swedish site, but it's only for pre-order. Since in Sweden they use Swedish Crown as currency, I converted it and it's about 34Euros.
So, we European dudes have to wait in order to get that (coooooool) armor case.

Got mine yesterday, there alot less lighting option for it then the light on the back of the phone.. but it's still pretty nice

I am pretty sure they will add more lightning effect on it with third-part apps and/or updates for the phone and its rom stock.
Because this armor case is not that cheap, so I think they will develop it. Or, you know, I hope for it!

This case have limited open window for lighting to go through. But its a great case. I like it.
Here's a small video.

Hi Cypher. I have plenty questions for you: does this particular case feel soft? Hard? Rubbish? Plasticky? Does this case cover the upper part of the display with raised edges, in order to protect it if it crashes on the ground, or in order to prevent the screen to touch the surface if I place it upside-down? The phone is fixed and motionless once engrafted in this case, or does the smartphone woobles (even if just a bit) into this case?
A case may even be cool and stilish too, but a case is made to be an armour against scratches/hits/falls, and its primary porpouse is to keep the smartphone safe against accidents.
Thanks in advice for the answers

It's hard plastic. Its got raised edges that protects the screen when faced down or from drops (hopefully). But from the pic, my tempered glass is slightly over those protective case edges. So if mine does end up dropping face first, I hope the tempered glass will go first. The case is solid tight, to the fact that i hate it when trying to removing it when i want to play and connect the thin bumper and aero cooler.

Damn that's not much of a front lip

Zagg or Bodyguardz for ATT Tilt 2

Does anyone know if Zagg's invisible shield or Bodyguardz' protective film for european Touch Pro 2 will fit ATT Tilt2? Thanks
I had a similar question. I have the EU version, unbranded, and am wondering if the form factor is the same as the AT&T model. The button placement on the front looks to be identical. Can you post a picture of your battery cover?
Here we go. Looks like EU TP2, except PTT button.
Thanks for the pics. You're right, it looks like my European model. I like the color of yours better though The form seems to be the same on the backside too. Hope someone can speak to your original question for you.
My Tilt2 is arriving today and my Zagg is arriving in a couple days, so if you can wait that long and no one has supplied a sufficient response yet, I will let you know how it fits.

That would be great! Anyway, i decided to experiment a little and ordered the full set from Bodyguardz. Will let you know as well how it works
I got a rubberized hard plastic shell designed for the European model and fits the Tilt 2 quite nicely. The only drawback is there is no cutout for the PTT button. Other than that I cannot find anything wrong with the European case being used with the Tilt 2.
Thanks for the info. That should indicate that on the outside at least the two shells are the same, with the exception of the PTT button anyway ( and maybe a forward facing camera on the EU model?). I'm thinking that the screen savers and clear vinyl "cases" will be mostly interchangeable between the two types as well.
Saw this posted on another forum. I don't have any experience with this brand myself, but looks familiar to the Zagg product and it is specifically for the Tilt2:
http://www.clearprotector.com/atandt-htc-tilt-2-extended-protector.html
If memory serves this is the company that I bought a similar case from for my Wizard. Thanks for the link. I've been using the case that came in my box and like it a lot. It's slim and provides sufficient protection. This protector should complement it well, and allow me to leave the phone out of the case while driving without having to worry so much about it sliding around and getting scratched up.
I just ordered one (extended protector), for my unbranded phone and will let you know what I think of it when I get it, as well as what they're customer service is like.
These cases can be tough to get on, and you have to accept the feel of the edges of the material when handling the device after installation. But they do provide a good grip to help prevent the slippery little buggers that our phones are from jumping out of your mitts. And the material is tough to say the least. Once they're on right, they stay put and do the job.
I just looked on the bodyguardz website and saw that they have a kit for the Tilt2 now. I should have it later this week. I will post updates once I put it on.
Don't mean to hijack......
Don't mean to hijack the thread but do any of you use either of these products with a leather pouch/sleeve like an EaseCase. I'm wondering if there will be any peeling issues when sliding the device in and out of the case.
Received the TP2 kit today, just applied it to the phone. Came out ok, but the only thing that doesn't match is the front camera hole, so I left the original protector on; and I had to cut off a small peice of protector from the side for the PTT button. Probably I will try another set from somebody else.
How did they work out?

Did you guys have any success?
I just got a invisible shield for my tilt 2, just for the screen. It's designed for the OEM TP2, because mine had the tiny hole on the top right for the front facing camera, which the Tilt2 does not have. Other than that, perfect fit.
I like the new sponge that comes in the kit, easier to use than spraying the screen with the wetting agent.
For anyone interested in bodyguardz, now is a good time to order. They already include the 25% discount for Christmas and if you use coupon 155A6 you get another 20% off!!

Does The Isheild cover the chrome painted rim around the screen? This is what gets damaged most readily (I Know I have dropped mine out of my pocket while ridding my bike on Highway 50 in Orlando, FL.).
Anyone please reply who has a Tilt2 & Zagg Isheild installed? Does it cover the chromium = )
No, it doesn't cover the chrome. For me the screen protector also didn't fit quite right. In the process of removing and reapplying it, I have now managed to stretch it out (which necessitated cutting around the speaker so I could hear) and got all sorts of fingerprints and whatnot under it, making it useless in sunlight.
Many of the major malls in the U.S. have "kiosks" that will do a custom install.
My buddy had his ENTIRE TP wrapped, including the chrome.
I wanted to make a new thread, but decided not to clutter the board and instead ask in a couple threads for some pictures. Can anyone with the Gadgetshieldz for the ATT Tilt 2 post some hi-res images so I can see what it looks like and how it fits around the corners and sides? Thanks

[Q] help looking for a case

I need some help looking for a case. I would like something folio style, but all of the pictures of the M1, Px cases look like they stand very upright. I am looking for a case that will lean back to allow it to sit and use as a keyboard stand. Anyone have any ideas for me?
Thanks!

CLIP
I got a CLIP from it2steve's web store and it works as exactly as you are wanting it to. It comes with 3 grooves on one side so you can have the gTab in 3 viewing angles but if you let it all the way down as shown in the attached photo it's perfect for typing.
As a new GTablet owner I was looking for a good case as well. The Clip looks sweet but it seems to be sold out from it2steve's store.
Anyone know where I can score this sweet looking case?

Yeah, I heard that too about the magnets on the M1.
I am very happy with my CLIP case. In my opinion it is the only Apple quality accessory we have for the gTab at the moment. It's well worth the extra cash and I can't recommend it any better.

I tried moving a small (1/4" diameter x 1/8" thick disk) rare earth magnet near the screen of my GTab, and didn't see any effects. Has anyone else tried any experiments? How large is the magnet in the case?
I saw a clip style case at staples that's made for the xoom- any chance it would fit our g-tabs?

No. I looked into this a few weeks ago (don't remember where I posted that) and the Xoom and gTabs are different sizes. If I remember correctly the gTab was bigger/longer than the Xoom.

As an M1 owner who's used it for a couple of weeks now, I can tell you that the magnet issue, like most things on the Internet, is blown way out of proportion. I use the tablet daily at work, have used it shopping for replacement flooring/furniture for our flooded gameroom, and sitting on the reclining sofa playing Angry Birds. I've never had a problem with the magnets reducing screen responsiveness or "freaking out". My only complaint is that over time, the GTab tends to settle further down in the case, half-hiding the camera and all but covering the ambient light sensor. If you don't plan on propping it up on a desk as often as I do, it makes a wonderful case.
M1 Case and G Tab Screen
I got an M1 case on Monday so I've had it for 3 days now. The fit, feel and look of the case are all excellent so far on mine, however, the it does mess with the screen. The longer it stays in the case the worse it gets. I have done tests in and out of the case, putting to sleep or not, rebooting or not and now have no doubt it is the case but I am not sure if its actually the magnets or not. It could just be the case itself touching the edges of the screen all day. In any case, (some pun intended) the longer it stays in the case, the harder you have to press the outside portions of the screen to get it to react. Mine eventually gets to the point where you cannot press hard enough to get the keys on the keyboard to function. When this happens I put it to sleep, pull it out of the case, wake it up and it works like new again. I will probably be investing in a black clip myself in the near future. This could just be a problem with my particular Gtab and it may not effect others at all but that is my short bit of experience with the M1 Case.
There's a few black clip cases in stock at it2steve's web store now.

For anyone who doesn't want to spend $50-$60 on a case for a $300 item, WI Global Technology has cheap alternatives. One with clips, one with elastic.
I got the one with clips. For $16 - It's OK.
All ports are accessible.
It's vinyl - NOT leather.
The covers extend about 1/16th" beyond the GTab - just enough protection (for me, anyay)
As you can see. the kickstand angle is about 75 degrees - it would probably be better if it were more like 60.
For $16 delivered, you get what you pay for (maybe a bit more... ymmv).

Hmmm been using the M1 for a few weeks now. Never noticed this magnet issue. I know magnets can mess with hard drives but never heard of it messing with an LCD. Doesn't the ipad 2 smart cover have like 70 magnets?
EDIT: Looked it up, 31 magnets.

"Smart Cover" style cases?

I find the smart cover case of my iPad 2 is ideal for typing in "landscape keyboard" mode. I haven't found any cases on eBay etc that do this except some really bulky/fugly ones. Has anyone found anything elegant/thin along the lines of the iPad 2 smart cover yet? I realize the GT7.7 doesn't have the logic to turn off when the cover is closed, I can live without that!
The original Samsung OEM case/cover looks very nice but doesn't seem to stand on its own in landscape keyboard mode

As long as the surface is not overly smooth, the Samsung Original Book Cover case does stand in landscape (thanks to rubber strips that adds friction). See pics. May not *look* especially stable, but it does seem to hold out nicely.
Ironically, I would like to see a case that allows my tab to stand in portrait mode, since I'm more likely to read that way. Never seen one before.
I have a case similar to the official iPad1 case. Very slim and snug fit. Doesn't add much to the size of the device, keeping the original slimness. Its faux leather on the outside and suede cloth inside. It has the same standing mechanism as the iPad1 case too. Comes in a few colours, I got the brown one.
I've been looking for exactly this type of case and was amazed they are made. I believe I can post images now and so I'll put some up later.

Thats the one. I personally prefer cases that give all round protection and this case does that. I find cases that only grip the corners can come loose over time, and badly made ones have terrible tolerances and may not even adequetly hold the device.

From where?
I bought XtremeGuard protectors when they were 70% off (I got 2 of them @ $1.50/each). They are pretty good, and the same material as ArmorGuard and InvisiShield. If you are looking for low price, I would recommend them, but they do not cover underneath the center button (they have U-shaped cutouts, rather than holes). Good enough until I can get the InvisiShield on sale. I do like the feel and protection provided by the wet-apply protectors.
I also got "Black Candy Skin TPU Gel Case Cover For LG Optimus L9 P769 (T-Mobile)" from Amazon (was $1.29 + 2.94 S/H). The case is slim, and slips off easy enough, as well as slick enough to not get stuck in my pocket or pick up dirt. They do cover the buttons with indents in the thermo-poly-urethane. The volume buttons work pretty well, but the power button is a little harder to use. It works for now until they develop nicer cases for the phone.

From eBay. I can't post link because i'm noob here and forum doesn't allow me.
EDIT:
by the way, if you look for L9's screen protector / L9's case at eBay or AliBaba, you'll find it.
I got the Case today, I got this on ebay for $9.50 with free shipping and its called P769 3 in 1 Travelers hard case holster. there are 2 color available white and black with a rubberize finish on it, i got the white one for now.
I really like this case, at first i was thinking of not using the Holster because I just want a 1 piece hard back cover for the P769. but this case and holster works really well together so im going to use both. the holster can be also a landscape/portrait stand for the phone. the case slide to the holster smoothly both in and out and feel secured when they are attached together.
Pro:
Fits very well
Ports are well cut
Feels great to hold
Good build Quality
Good price
3in1
Cons
rubber Finish might chip soon
No other color
Holster clip is not that strong
Nice!
Do you have a picture of the clip?
Does the phone slide out or snap out?
p.s. This thread needs to be moved under accessories sub-forum.
Looks cool, what is that launcher you are using? or is it rooted
I got the EZguard Screen protector for $4 (4pcs) on ebay and its 100% GARBAGE!!!
The screen protector is already scratch up out of the envelope, installing instruction is somewhat not clear... I read somewhere that it supposed to be wet install but still its pure garbage i tried it. i still got 2 out of 4 screen protector.. well its $4 cant complain anymore.
Im going to get the Skinomi or IQ LIQuidskin on amazon later. they got good reviews so i think that should work.

NO... maybe if you want the clip off it will be for good. yet there will be a teeth gear like circle on the holster. (that gear is for stopping the holster to change your preferred orientation)
Does this case work well? Anyone here tried it?
Optimus-T-Mobile-Hybrid-Black-Shape/dp/B00ASSP0V8/ref=pd_sim_cps_4
Paste that after amazon.com/, because XDA won't let me post links.
Also, the only screen protectors I see on Amazon are the EZtrash screen protectors. I have heard these are awful. Are there others that work better, or is it just a matter of waiting?

I have this case. It does work well. The "kick stand" will prop the phone up in both landscape and portrait orientations.
The case does add a little bulk. It has a silicon/rubber soft layer that goes around the phone and a hard shell that wraps around that. Should provide good protection.

Since this case was close to what I wanted: A "clam shell" case for the phone to put in my pocket, I went ahead and bought it in black.
The clip came off very easily. Too, easily. I'd be afraid to let my phone dangle from my belt with that clip.
Anyway, as you pointed out, there was a "gear like circle" protruding from the case after the clip was taken off. I carefully removed it and made it flush with rest of the plastic with a dremel tool. I doesn't look too bad.
Bought this universal case with elastic edges for $14.99 from Target. Magnetic front clasp. Phone fits snugly, very comfortable to hold or wear in pocket-feels secure (feels cumbersome on belt). Added screen saver for L9 from T-Mobile for additional $16 (believe). Screen protector was well worth it to cut fingerprint grease.
bought 2 of these phones for my parents and was looking around for good quality cases. Just thought I'd share my findings :
1) For my mom : Tech21 White snap case for LG optimus L9 P769 (refer to T-Mobile Website, shows middle camera hole) :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151027412771?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
2) For my dad : Body Glove case with stand (reviews in amazon are excellent)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/150992696200?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
The two companies also have several other cases available for P769 (middle camera hole version), just lookup Tech21 or Body Glove Optimus L9 case..hope that helps for members looking to find quality case for this *mid-range-and-obscure* phone. Phone's arriving tomorrow! Cant wait.
Cheers!
I'm sorry I didn't see this thread before (It didn't even show in search) so I made another... Mods, feel free to close my thread.
Anyway... Here's mine
IllumiShield 3 pack screen protectors - $7.65
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380614141569
My review: EXTREMELY well cut. Edge to edge protection done proper. Very easy to install. And they are actually antibubble.
Highly recommended. Ordered on a Monday, got them today (Thursday) - Ships from California
Future Armor Ballistic Case - $12.95
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281090273071?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
My review: VERY nice. Feels nice in the hands. Only adds about 1/8th inch all the way around. The seller is also very easy to work with. I had an issue with the case (rubber coating wasn't correct in one spot) and she immediately shipped a replacement.
Again, Highly recommended. Ordered on a Friday, got it on the following Monday - Ships from New York

I too ordered these first... And also had the exact same issues you do/did. Needless to say, I sent them this email (coped word for word) and was refunded. Then I order what's in my previous post above this one, and they are wonderful! Here's the email"
After receiving 6 of these screen protectors, I must say, they suck. I was expecting to keep a few as backups later on, but no... This item is so ****ily made that I used 5 of them to even get it close. I threw the 6th in the trash, because that's about the only thing it is good for. I have never had issues installing a screen protector. Its normally pretty straight forward and easy. Not this product. The moment the backing is pulled off, the static cling attracts every dust particle in the known universe before you can even line the damn thing up. Even after lining it up...FIVE TIMES, the things still weren't cut correctly. But, I guess you get what you pay for, so my bad.

Orzly cases for the Nexus 6

Hi Guys,
I've seen Orzly thrown around in a few threads, mainly for their glass screen protector but also quite heavily in the OnePlus One Forum so thought I'd share a bit about the cases they have on offer. Also looks like they've got the handset and cases judging by their YouTube Channel...
There's this link on their site which pretty much sums up all the cases that they sell...http://orzly.com/nexus-6-key-info
Also here's a link to their YouTube Channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC32F5reVmWnjp4UrCZY88Ng/feed
Looks like they have the real handset too as they've done an unboxing.
Going to be tough to decide with all these branded cases around. They all are similar in terms of design but have different price points.
Sorry I didn't know how to upload videos so it is embedded. Anyone who knows how to do that it would be great to have them posted to this thread.
Thanks,
Just ordered a black orzly fusion. Should be here Monday.
G3
Well I ordered this case as well since it was in stock. Turns out this thing is coming from the UK and won't be here until December 8th. :crying:
Got the orzly fusion today and can't say I like the buttons. They're flat and hard to feel.
Can anyone confirm what the cutouts on the backs of these cases are like? The pictures all show a big cutout that goes around the camera and the Moto logo, but the videos show only a cutout for the camera.

Only the camera is cutout. No other lines, circles or dimples on the back.
Got the FlexiCase today, not impressed with the buttons either. They are completely flush with the side of the case which makes no sense, not sure if they will bulge with the phone in the case. Also confirming that there is just the one hole for the camera.
^ Did you leave a review on amazon? Maybe if they get enough bad reviews, they will fix it.
G3
I did not, not a big deal since I end up with so many cases. I'll leave a review though.

LOL bit harsh isn't it
I've just sent them an email directly about the buttons, lets see what they come back with.
I am definitely not bothered about the back cut-out for the logo as to me that is pointless - why would anyone want a portion of their phone scratched especially when I'm guessing most cases which are semi-transparent or fully transparent, show the logo anyway.

Nah, not harsh at all. They show one, sell another and the buttons are horrible.
I've bought the Orzly Fusion Bumper case. And I complained to Amazon last night that the buttons are flat and it's hard to know what you are pressing until you've actually pressed it. Orzly replied with my email and told me that they've already initiated the refund for my payment.

Exact same situation. The case fit great and looked very nice. But the button issue rendered the function of the phone almost useless. They were very kind and issued my refund immediately. Solid customer service! Hopefully they make a revision because I will definitely buy it again.
They refunded my purchase too on the fusion.

I got the some clear invsi case from Orzly. Alas, I don't actually have a nexus 6 yet but the case seems solid.
problem with them is the shipping is more expensive than the actual case!

I just ordered the carbon fiber tonight. It looks like it's a pretty nice case! I'm hoping it won't take weeks like I've been hearing about Orzly shipping to the US. Either way, I'm still waiting on my phone to ship so it probably doesn't matter anyway haha.
I ordered the FlexiSlim black case on Nov 18th and it arrived today. What a gorgeous case.
Sorry for the crappy pics, I had to use my tablet.
