Help submit requests for mi 9 dbrand skins! - Xiaomi Mi 9 Accessories

I've just watched the 9T pro teardown by jerryrig, and dbrand sponsored it. I went to their site and saw that they made skins for it! Help submit the device to them to make it happen! I would be f***ing awesome if they did! :victory:
Here's the contact link : https://dbrand.com/contact

"Hey Gábor!
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we have no plans to support the Xiaomi Mi 9, as there is simply not enough demand to justify adding it to our portfolio at this time. Sorry about that. Let us know if there is anything else we can help with, and have a great day!

Dbrand is obviously missing some crucial and important brain cells. I mean, they have skins for the essential phone, note fe, razer phone, and some lg phones, which are FAR FAR less popular than some, if not, most xiaomi phones. They need to wake up and look at the current phone sales.

Carved.com Cases for Nexus 6

I emailed Carved to see if they'd be producing cases for the Nexus 6 since they currently make cases for the N5 and this is what I got back:
"We are continuing to add new products to the Nexus line. Please keep checking our site for updates!"
That sounds like a yes to me! Not sure how many people like/use these cases but their N5 cases look great in person. I got a buddy with a cedar case for his N5 and it's great looking plus feels good in the hand. They're wooden backed with a snap on hard plastic rubber edge and you can choose from a variety of design/wood types. They're not the most durable cases but if you're into cases that are borderline art, these are for you. I can't post links yet, this is actually my first post, but if you visit carved.com and click 'shop' you'll see a link to their current N5 case selection.
Sweet cases! How bulky are they? Is hard to tell from the pictures on their site.

They're pretty low profile. I didn't have another N5 case to compare it to but the carved case didn't add a lot of extra bulk.
I have never heard of these cases before, but now I must have one. I really hope they add the Nexus 6 to their line.
Oh very nice! I'll get bamboo on my N6 after all. and they take bitcoin!!
That huge phone with a real wood back, or one of those puzzles... Sweet. I'm glad I swung in here today and found out about Carved.

Of a particularly relevant note here--they apparently do base what phones they offer cases for based on user demand, so it's actually kind of important to leave them a comment at http://www.carved.com/contact-us explaining why it would be a Good Idea to make a case for the Nexus 6. (One thing I did note to them is that--with a difference in scale, of course--the same template would be usable on the Moto X 2nd Gen AND the new Droid Turbo as pretty much all the Motorola phones are on the same rough body build. It does help in my case that I've built tooled leather cases for non-phone stuff, so I do kind of know what is involved in making a good case design. )

I want an Ironside full wood case..that would be so awesome! love their work! their art! the skateboard one and the live ones also look cool...the ebony ones too..the full ones..i don't want no inlay one...i want that full wood look!! ha...yeah...love the art!
I've never been one to use cases on my phones but these are really nice. I've been intrigued about these wood finishes since I've seen the bamboo back option for the Moto X. Might have to pick one of these up. I'll shoot them an email to help them gauge demand.
looks like it may not be happening right away...

I bought 2 solid wood cases for me and my wifes Note 3's and both cases broke within 2 weeks really bummed me out because that case always got people's attention. It was not from carved.com so i don't know if there solid wood offering would be more durable.
Man I hope they come out with some soon.
So I submitted a request through Carved's website. My submission is in bold. Their response is in italics.
First, why are you contacting us?: Are you going to make a case for...
What device do you want us to make a case for?: Nexus 6
In your most convincing voice, tell us why we should make a case for your device??: This device is awesome and is very popular! So popular in fact, that it's been pretty much sold out since its release! It's being sold on all four major carriers and I would love to see one of your beautiful cases surrounding my device. If you make it, I will buy a lot.

The case they use for the nexus 5 appears to be a ringke slim.
Such a shame that Carved still haven't brought out a case for the N6. Has anyone found a good alternative elsewhere?

I wanted to let you know that Carved.com asked me to beta test a Nexus 6 case on the 25th, it should be here in the next day or two, not sure what the rules are about testing it so I will confirm if I can post pics and comment on it. But I wanted to share that it is making progress.

Case Mate Hula Case

I know a few people on here been trying to get answers about a bumper case since the Rhino Shield one fell through. I emailed and posted questions on Case Mate's Facebook page weeks ago and never heard back, so recently decided I would asked the same question over and over again every time they post something to Facebook and I'd post to their page everyday and email them everyday till I got an answer. Finally heard back this morning. Now the answer I got sounds like they will be making a Hula Case for the N6. The sentence that answers my question is kind of worded like someone with broken English wrote it. Here's the email I got:
Thank you for your interest in Case-Mate products. We are very excited to have cases available for the Hula Case for the Nexus 6. We know you are excited to get a case for your new device!

I'm guessing that someone didn't get the memo... Its nothing new to see conflicting CS experiences when inquiring about a product. I wonder which one will become a reality.

Maybe we should wait a week or two and ask them again. The Hula is the only bumper that I have seen recently that looks good unless another company wants to take up the challenge.

Gear S Universal Strap Mounts & Custom Designs

Hi everyone,
I have been selling the Gear S Black Metal Strap for a designer in Korea for some time now, but due to his refusal to produce more designs and variations, and also refusing to lower the price of his stuff, I have decided to see if I could produce these on my own for everyone.
I have already designed out the universal 22mm strap mount for the Gear S and have negotiated with several manufacturers.
I launched a IndieGogo campaign to help fund this ambitious goal of mine, but hopefully with your help I will be able to bring not only the mounts but also the custom designs we all have been waiting for, like the diesel and swarovski designs. Please share the campaign with those you know to help reach the goal. The sooner we reach it, the sooner they can go into production.
Here is the link - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/...d-designs-gear-s-and-beyond/x/11075144#/story
Please note that even if we do not hit my goal, I have alternative means to get the mounts to those who pre order them.
Campaign Video Link
Hello everyone, here is my campaign promotion video for the universal mounts and future designs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piy9CioqIiA
The Gear S Black Metal Strap in the link picture is attractive, do you have other colors?
Hi folks, due to a last minute cancellation of funds by my backer, I can no longer move forward with this project. I have reflected this cancellation on the indiegogo page and the youtube video. Thank you to all those that supported.
That's too bad, I have one of your bands and it's sweet, I have many people ask me what watch it is, though I have had some people actually act sad when I say it's not an Apple watch... I'll never understand some people.

Andrew: So sorry to read that the funding has disappeared. I just received my band today and it is nothing less than awesome! Good quality work, the weight is perfect and the look definitely changes the GS from "sport-mode" to "formal-mode". Hopefully you will be able to secure some venture capital and continue this project in the very near future.

Ha! Me too! No one really noticed my watch since I got it last November until Apple came along with their junk. Now everyone is asking if it's an Apple Watch. Of course I educate them and point out how superior Samsung's smartwatch is compared to any Apple offering!

I have had Samsung Smartwatches since 2013 when the original Galaxy Gear came out. Back in 2013 it got loads of attention from people. But now a days when people see my Gear S they ask if it's the Apple Watch. In 2013 though, I was revolutionary.
Got my metal band today and I am very happy. It is very classy and really enjoy wearing my gear even more now. Thanks!

Nexus 6P with Snapdragon 820/4GB Possibly in the works?

Haven't seen this posted at all... Figured I'd start up a thread on it.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/New-...-Snapdragon-820-4GB-RAM-and-Android-N_id80593
To be honest, I find it quite odd. At this point I wonder if it's just for testing purposes. I can't see this being released in the middle of the original Nexus 6P, and HTC's end of year Nexus. Maybe it isn't much effort to take the same phone, swap out the CPU and add Memory if that's all they're doing.
I can see the Nexus 6P 810/3GB dropping to $399, and 820/4GB starting at $499 *if* they proceed to release this to public. Then again, that could hurt their late year phone release if those specs aren't going to be much greater.
Thoughts, comments?
it's too far. I mean, htc is new choice for Google (probably)
but maybe Huawei make some device like n6p and s820 & 4G ram with name like Huawei p7! or something like that! because Chinese company have a great benefits from n6p and this make sense.
obviously Huawei without Google doesn't worth a dime or peanuts! ?

If it does happen, it is Google and Huawei's roundabout way of admitting the 6P has build quality issues. I don't see any other reason why it would be released with HTC supposedly working on the next Nexus.

It might actually be happening according to this article: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (S820) vari...ant-of-nexus-6p-listed-on-geekbench-20160428/
And it seems they are giving some of the same reasons that I gave as to why it might be being made.
It's sad that the 6P is suffering real issues and they are sidestepping responsibility by releasing another phone. If they don't take care of current 6P owners who are experiencing issues by offering them this phone for free, that will leave a bad taste in my mouth for Google and Huawei.
It should be a 6P 2016 Model.
I don't find it far fetched at all, that there's in all likelihood a successor phone to the 6P from Huawei, still under Google's "umbrella".
Google has done this previously with other devices, maybe now they're doing incremental updates to their smartphone options.
I will buy this phone if this appears to be true. A perfect phone.

You messed up your link pretty bad, homeslice. And those issues that you're pointing to in that article, besides the twisting/bending/whatever, are non-issues. Getting harder to take you seriously. You're being extremely dramatic.
I think it's highly unlikely that they put out a 820 version of the 6P.

The truth hurts, eh? They are non-issues because you don't have them? Good way of thinking. They are real issues that some people are having, the article isn't pulling the issues out of thin air.
And it's you that I'm having a hard time believing. People simply aren't making up these issues but you still don't believe it while it's so black and white.
Usually phones that show up on Geekbench end up a reality. I'm sure you will be the one who says they are releasing a new version of the phone so they can put a Snapdragon 820 in it. Which they simply wouldn't spend the time and money on just to do that. There definitely are deeper issues to make them spend the time and money to release this phone.
People who already spent their hard earned cash on a 6P will have a hard time believing or admitting it, but that's obviously happening here.
So who's the dramatic one here? I'm posting links of what's actually happening and you keep saying the same thing over and over denying the multiple issues that this phone has. Just because these issues aren't affecting you doesn't mean they aren't real. Just because you don't have cancer doesn't mean it isn't real. Same general idea. It is real, it just doesn't affect everyone.
Good luck with your 6P.
P.S. This is obviously going nowhere and it just leads to fights, so I'm just gonna leave this alone as is. I've said my piece and I know this phone isn't guaranteed to come out. Good luck to you all and I hope Google and/or Huawei takes care of you if this is true. Peace.

After a bit of thinking about it. It may not be Nexus branded, but released the same time as the next Nexus device.
Huawei probably won't be receiving source code as early as HTC will for their Nexus devices. If this is the case, I'd say expect the Huawei 6P's successor with this 820/4GB to not receive updates as quick as this one. That's my best guess right now.

You posting links of random rumours and taking it for a fact, what are you even rambling about? And what does that have to do with anything anyway? Just because someone releases updated version of the phone it means it was defected? What about galaxy a5, a9? Each year a new one with better cpu, were they defected? Were samsung tablets with same name defected? Your logic is non existant here. And just because you hate the phone doesnt mean its bad. Just because you had a defected one doesnt mean its bad build quality. By your logic every single smartphone in the market is defected, because there are few users with problems lol. Galaxy s7 had gaps between chassis and glass, home button is scratching very easy, some users had grounding issue where recent apps would press by itself because finger was touching bottom of phone. So because there were few users with problems means galaxy s7 is flawed and broken device, and if samsung releases s8 it means they are silently admitting build issues? Thats your logic, read that and undestand how ridiculous it is.

Peace.

LOL - what are you even on about? Putting words in my mouth doesn't help prove your point. I've never said people aren't experiencing real issues (like they do with any device), and I've admitted that I think the bending/twisting/whatever is something that shouldn't be happening. But again, you're exaggerating and being overdramatic.
The article you're referring to like it's some damning write-up on nexus 6P issues - mentions (4) issues - let's have a look:
Easily bent
Spontaneous cracking of the glass visor
Low volume
Video playback problem
...which the article states right after listing those that "We know most of them have been fixed already".
How many of those are issues are plaguing users? Please elaborate on all these huge nexus 6P issues - I'd like to see your list.
You're basing your argument on an article that named four issues then said that most of them were fixed. And three of them have hardly been posted about in this forum or anywhere I've seen.
And I'm not sure about the whole geekbench thing. When have they ever put a nexus variant out like this? I guess we'll see. I'd welcome it, it'd give me another option.

Question I'm in, what about you?

Pre-ordered the second it opened up. For foldables I've had the Z Fold 1 and 2, as well as the the X Fold. Love folders despite the problems and I'm looking forward to getting back into a Pixel without giving up my folding action.
I'll be selling the watch new in the box, anyone know how one goes about that?
im in australia so i cant buy it, its not like i could afford it anyways lmao

I'm all in also. Was thinking about holding off until the 8 Pro... especially since it's supposed to have a flat screen, but nah. A foldable seems like it'll be more fun.
Not really concerned about the price or or any other first glance, hot takes from influencers. I am however concerned about durability as I've never had a folding device. I made sure to select the Pixel protection (or whatever the heck it's called) option from the Google Store.
Anyhow, you should start the traditional pre-order/shipping/delivery thread.
Edit: I started the shipping thread.
For the price of a new Google Pixel Fold I'd prefer to buy a 90s Japanese hatchback instead

Currently have a fold3 and have pre-ordered the pixel fold. Love the software of the zfold and think it's a better phone. Unfortunately the aspect ratio is rubbish and this is the one place pixel has it nailed which is why I pre-ordered. Currently have the watch 5 pro so not sure which watch to keep and which to sell.
Also I'm looking at building some custom ROMs again which I haven't been able to do on zfold 3

i wonder what cool features custom roms will bring to folding phones, itll be exciting to see
I also pre-ordered. They almost priced themselves out of a sale to me, but they offered me a GREAT deal on my trade-in, so I couldn't resist.

Getting anything from the pixel 7 booting like aicp or paranoid Android booted won't be too difficult but how well they'll work with the dual screen is a bigger question. Hopefully some more talented people than me will work on the fold as well
I have about the same luck with folders as I do rectangles as far as durability goes so I'm not losing sleep over it.
I can say for sure, it's hard to go back to the old rectangle after having a folding phone. You can, it just feels so limiting.

Thx for the reassurance on durability. First foldable I'll have, so wasn't sure... hence the protection.
In fairness I don't break too many phones and while there is an inherent weakness in the screen and folding mechanism that doesn't exist with a rectangle your handling tends to necessarily be more careful.
I'm not talking about walking around on eggshells, it's the form factor itself. Foldable are heavy enough that when dropped in your jacket pocket they can actually swing the jacket around to where it will hit the car door when you get in the car. Little things like that keep you a bit more aware of the phone more than you are with a rectangle.
You also don't handle it the same way because you may or may not unfold it, just that possibility makes you more particular about how you hold it and keeps you from whipping it out and waving it about in the same way you do with a rectangle. It's a small thing but it's present.
I guess an easy way to quantify it might be to wander over to the Z fold forums and give them a quick look for issues. Pick an older phone like the Z fold 2 to give people time to break them and post about it. You won't see much there, you can break them but they're not as fragile as you might think. I know I went in expecting the worst but for me the only thing that surprised was what they survived through; not what they didn't.

I've had the z fold 3 for nearly 2 years and have dropped it more times than I care to remember. Durability wise the only issue I've had is the inner screen protector. It comes unstuck/fractures along the crease. You can remove it but I just had mine replaced twice but Samsung for £10 a time
I took the screen protector off the second, left the first one on: The Z fold 1 was a little sketchy compared to the second. After some time with the ZF2 I felt comfortable removing it, feels better when swiping without it.
Thx for the responses. Wasn't really concerned about the outer portion... mainly the screen, so thanks for adding stuff about the protector in there. The only thing I've heard of regarding the Z Fold series was the protector bubbling.
I haven't broken a phone since the Nexus 4. Even then, it was just the back glass Still have it in my collection as a matter of fact.
Anyhow, I'm no longer slightly concerned about screen issues and didn't want to derail this thread. Back to being about who is in.
Im very tempted to be honest, I love the form factor, and I a always loved pixels. I'm in the UK, but can't seem to get the option to trade in my Fold 4 though.
Quick question though, with the google store, does the funds get taken from the account as soon as you ore order? Or when it ships.

It's stupid isn't it. In the USA they are offering $800 for the fold 3 but I'm in the UK also and they only offer £330 trade in. I can sell my z fold 3 on eBay for £500. Samsung and Google really screw UK user's on trade ins and freebies
I ordered using the interest free payment scheme and 1st payment comes out next month which might be before I get the device

Does seem really strange! We do seem to get had with the trade in prices.
I may well do the interest free payments as well. Is there an option to pay it all off in the future if needed?

I've used Karna before to buy on Samsung. From what I remember there was but think might have been early repayment charge which is stupid if it's interest free

Ah, Klarna, I think they declined me the last time I tried to use them. I'll see if it works this time.
