September 1 Patch - Samsung Galaxy S10 Guides, News, & Discussion

I just manually checked and see the patch is available for my unlocked US model. It's 190.77 MB so it's probably just the security patch.

Still nothing in UK. Sim free, S10 Plus.

I am not sure if that phone received a security patch as of yet.

Yeah, just got the notification today. Tried to download the full firmware from SamMobile but the download speed is abysmally slow.
Anyone who needs the full firmware, use Frija app. It is faster and it is free to use.

But keep in mind if you want to get work Frija, then need to preinstall on PC:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 & 2010 Redistributable.
And yeah good news. Finally september update arrieved. Installed and camera features from note on S10 Plus.

As for the camera, it is 13mp rear one with ois capability and you can download some camera modes from Galaxy apps store such as rear cam selfie, etc.....
As for the front one it is 5 mp camera which is actually amazing (But to be honest I prefer the rear cam selfie mode)
As for the battery it is non removable with a capacity of 3300 mah which stays along the day (Note: This differs according to your use to the device as I am not a hardcore gamer and I do not play RR3)
As for heating, It barely heats on using mobile data but on gaming It heats up but it doesn't exceed about 39 or 40°C (Again as I said above it differs from one user to another) and as for ordinary use (when not playing games) it barely warms up (A back cover will make the warmth of the device barely sensed)

Well it depends on the region you live in:
If you live in India and your device was bought from India (For knowledge the Indian model is SM-A710FD) the upgrade will be available soon as I think (It may be available but I do not know so for reference you could go to the Galaxy A series page on xda fourms)
For more knowledge: I have a galaxy a7 6 which I upgraded to marshmallow and it carries the same Indian model number although it is not bought from India, that is because my device is middle eastern as in the middle east the firmware of SM-A710FD is the same as SM-A710F which had the marshmallow update released a week ago so I found one of the middle eastern firmwares of SM-A710F and downloaded it onto my SM-A710FD and it worked normally but this method won't work on your device if you are in India since the network bands in India is different than ours (middle eastern).
Conclusion: Do not try to install the marshmallow SM-A710F on SM-A710FD if you are in India due to different network bands.
Note: That's my conclusion of all what I had read about your issue since I also have SM-A710FD so I was worried if I had bricked my device until I knew that in middle east is different than in India.
Sorry for my many words

Actually I use both 2 sims with MicroSD card. That`s why I`m asking.
A710FD is the only variant, which has 2 sim slots and a dedicated MicroSD card. And all the other variants has 2 slots - 1 is a sim slot and the other one is a Hybrid slot.

Nope.
A710FD has not got the Official MM yet. Though I don`t have any idea about OTA update, as mine is rooted with custom recovery. But I`ve searched and googled about this and don`t get any fruitful result yet.
But hopefully this one will get official MM shortly.
But really this is an excellent device. Excellent display, Battery Life, No Lag, Dual Sim with a dedicated Memory card slot ( one of the best dual sim phone right now).
So, this my short review of A710FD as a user.
Hope this will help you.

Well I have no idea what :rir::Boa: means but we are on the last day of March so thinking we are not gonna get Oreo quite yet...
I just returned my asus zenfone max plus to get the 3 zoom. Coming from a moto z play I missed the outrageous battery life so I'm excited to get the 3 zoom and test it out. Hearing it is getting Oreo is a plus as well. Sad to see there are no developers for it though
Update's been delayed until the end of June

Android 8.0.0 Oreo for Galaxy C7 SM-C7000 ?

hi everyone
i just wonder when we can get Android 8 oreo for Galaxy C7
such a smartphone with this performances 4G of ram, 64go internal memory, powerfull processor qualcomm 626 (8 X 2.02 ghz) ,1080p resolution.................
why theres no develepments for this device ?
no roms port no custom roms !
hope android 8 come soon
Oreo will not come for the C7. Samsung has a specific update policy. S, A and Note series are getting two major updates. The other series are either getting a major update or not at all. For example, the J series gets one major update. The C series is a local series. The C series is a special series to the far east. It is also now joined with the J series. The other name of C8 is J7+. As a result, if the J-series receives the single major update, the C-series also receives the single major update. The only major update of the C7 was Nougat.
Do not hope for Oreo.
ok i get it thank you so what about custom roms ported roms ?? also there's no development for it !!!

No!, C-series will have two major system update!
Samsung has recently post a notice in the Samsung Members app, the notice said that it will have Oreo update in October!
And also the what u said in your word, that all J-series won't have two major system update, but J7 Prime will have Oreo update too
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Today, I have a question and I got this answer. This is good news for us but there is always the possibility that Samsung can change this calendar. Because in the past, Samsung had deleted many devices in the Nougat update calendar and did not update them. They have already written that they can change it in the answer they give. All we can do is trust Samsung and wait to update.
By the way, the comments I made about the single update of the J series came up as a result of my observations. I have information about this in my country as a source at epey.com. The site is writing the first Android version and the latest Android version of the devices. If you take a good look, you will get something like: S, Note and A series devices are getting two major updates and the other series are either getting single updates or not updating at all.
The C series is a new series. For this reason I can not make a definite comment. But C8 is called J7 + in different countries. And since the J-series gets one big update, I think it's the C-series too.
In the old Nougat update calendar, many devices from series J would receive the second major update. But the times were all removed from the calendar. I said I should trust Samsung, but not trusting is the best option. We will be happy if the update comes, but we will not be sorry if it does not.

But what if Samsung change it's rules of system update?
Likes Apple, they maybe change their rules by giving two update on C and J series, and three update for S,Note and A series. Like what Apple did on their iPhones, they give their iPhones three iOS update, iPhone 5s get iOS 12!
So I think Samsung may change their rules by comparing to Apple

Apple was already giving more updates than 2 major updates. The iPhone 4S came out with iOS 5, but was updated up to 9.3. The iPhone 5 came out with iOS 6, but was updated up to 10. The iPhone 5S came out with iOS 7, but was updated up to 11 and this is the latest update of iPhone 5S. So Apple gives 4 major updates. Samsung always gives 2 major updates to some models.
Of course, Samsung can make changes in the update policy. But as I tell you, Samsung is a brand that can remove many devices from the list over time.
I say again: If the update comes, we will be happy. But let's not hope for updates. If the update does not come, we will not be bad. :good:

And when it comes, idk what exactly when, but according to the notice it'll probably come out on October.

Bro, I'm confused too about the update, because I have many Samsung phones and I don't know if they can get Oreo or the future Android 9 Pie.

Well, we can see C7 Pro have beta update of Android 8.0.0 on SamMobile. But it doesn't mean all C series will get that. May get as you said. Because there is two reasons;
-Pro C series come with 6.0.1 stock. But Samsung changed their UI like Android 7.
- That series released in 2017.
I can't understand Samsung in this regard. There is Android 7.1 available when they released. But why Samsung stayed on the 6.0.1.. I don't know.
In short... On mine opinion don't hope to 2016 C series will get Oreo... May get, may not. Depends on Samsung...
Oreo cooming soooooooon????

Will there be anymore security updates now?

The last update I have received for my Uk m5 10.8 is with security update dated April 20
Will there be no more now with all the fuss with Google?
Don't think so.... Updates have been sporadic at best all the time and I think they stopped updating the m5
I've got a M5 8" and last update was May 2020.

According to https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/ it is no more on the list. Has only just been removed, as it was there last month. So there might be one last patch left (optimistic me...)
Since I have a US model, it never received a major update and only sporadically received security updates. Very disappointing.

Sold mine now anyway.
Unless this mess with Google get's sorted out I won't be coming back to Huawei.

I agree - and it's nigh on impossible to get a branded tablet of the similar modern spec at a sensible price. Or one that gets updates.
I'm getting my Samsung Tab S 8.4" fixed and updated as an 'upgrade' to my M5.

I'm no lover of Samsung tablets - but the current S range are significantly more expensive than the M5 was.
Though I believe Samsung have promised more updates for certain parts of their range than they did in the past.
I mean the original Tab S from 2014.
Mine just updated to 9.1.0.345, security patches dated September 1, 2020.

Mines being offer 345. I need to get the URL to extract recovery img to root it. It's not listed in firmware finder. Anyone know how to find it?
Both of my SHT-W09's just updated to 345 version (September 2020 security patch level) here in UK. Haven't found any bugs. Pleased that these live to see another day, there's no tablets come close without paying 3 times as much for the Samsung.

Question No OTA since RMX2202_11_A.13

Hi all,
I haven't received any OTA since
RMX2202_11_A.13, which is my current firmware. Any idea why this is the case? I've seen here that a lot of folks have received A.16.

I'm kinda dissapointed.. I thought this was a flagship device.. No OTA for over two months, no Android 12 in sight in Europe.. Damn I should've get that Pixel6 instead
Shouldn't UI 3.0 be just around the corner now? Give it a couple of weeks or a month?
Now i read on rmupdates site , android 12 stable rolling out for GT 5G users in China . No news for global
Europe will receive in January, hopefully
It looks like we'll receive a security patch for December after all.
