Only for keyboard.

Just got mine yesterday too. Noticed the vibration, guess I don't need a ringtone anymore.

Does Anyone found a way to reduce the vibration?

It's not strong at all, it's just really noisy. I can't feel it at all in my pocket. You can reduce it in some parts to make it less buzzy and more like an actual vibration, but the real problem is the cheap motor they used. It's one of the older rotation motors (in place of a linear actuator, which is better in every possible way).

Its not just you, my question is, couldn't be there a magisk module to control this??
It's not gonna be magic and make the vibrations stronger, but at least this could make it less noisy
If anyone knows about a tool or module please share

[Q] Vibration

I am kind of hoping that I got a defective device and that vibration isn't a general X10 problem. How strongly do your phones vibrate compared to others? I could barely feel mine even when I hold it in my hands (and I'm not talking about the haptic feedback when typing, I am talking about when receiving phone calls and text messages, and all the settings are correct).
Can anybody help me out here...?

[Q] Camera clicking Noise

Just received my replacement Galaxy S2 and I've noticed that the camera seems to focus and makes 2 short clicking sounds when the phone starts up and when I change from camera to video camera and vice versa. This didn't seem to occur on the handset that was replaced.
Is this common or is it a fault?
Well it does the same on mine... Not sure why this would make it faulty?
The clicking noise is actually the camera lens moving back and forth (calibrating?).
My phone on the latest camera firmware does that too - not sure if it did it before.
Just noticed that on mine too, and then found this thread. So, it seems to be normal. We hope so.
My s2 makes also this strange noise. But I nerver noticed this sound on my first s2 which got replaced. I can't immagine that I failed to hear it on my first s2 because it's quite loud. Don't know what to do now . Maybe other people can report if they hear /have this sound.
Mine makes that noise too. Didnt notice it before i read about it here
It's the autofocus. My Desire did that, and so did my Hero.
+1 same here
yes, I'm having the same clicking sounds - the problem is that the camera doesn't work at all...

What! does your camera work ? you got root ?
It's just the auto-focus.
the camera has never worked ever since I bought the damn thing, it just makes these clicking sounds - might be the autofocus - and the viewfinder is black
I've tried 3 or 4 different roms, changed the kernel a few times, got root... and nothing worked. Twice, after restart, I managed to take 2 pics but as soon as I change to video it all goes to hell
I made a video but I can't post it because I'm under 8 posts

yes mine does that too.I am from india.
If it helps
Mine clicks too, all works just fine tho!
Many cameras make a small click when turning on - hero did it too. It's likely an actuator calibration mechanism, to ensure the feedback system is working - wind full in and out, and self-check the sensor return values.

That's exactly what it does, you can see it if you look at the camera.
Mine clicks like crazy when using Tiny Flashlight + LED, Brightest Flashlight Free™ and a couple others I have tried. I mean CRAZY. Like a frog in a sock CRAZY.
It just continues to click. Sometimes it doesn't actually do it but 80% of the time it does
My camera clicks twice too when opening it or when switching to video mode. Clicks are not that loud and camera works perfectly, so i assumed it's normal, though some people say it's not. Wonder if camera does that on all S2 phones or is it related to rom versions or camera firmware ?
Completely silent XWKF3 and latest Camera firmware.
OK, that is not a real hardware clicking, it is not autofocus, it is not lens movement. It's the camera startup noise, and you can disable it by renaming the files:
/system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg as camera_click.ogg.bak
/system/media/audio/ui/camera_click_short.ogg as camera_click_short.ogg.bak
You do need root for this.

[SOLVED] NT supposed to have vibration feedback?

Hi,
I first thought that the Nook Tablet doesn't have vibration feedback at all. But at least there ( http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/ ) in the comments somebody talked about vibration feedback in skype.
So I am not so sure anymore! I found no previous thread about this topic, so I opened this one....
Anyone can confirm that the Nook Tablet has or hasn't vibration feedback? If it normally should have it, it might be a problem on my side? I would be more than happy to have slight vibration feedback when using the keyboard!
I bought this used, so it also might be defective, or maybe has a third party battery internal and the vibration is inside the battery? Or is it a problem of CM (10.1) ?
Thanks already!

Ok, after searching for a while, I have found the following, that probably settles it: No hardware for vibration feedback in Nook Tablet:
http://www.androidfornook.com/forum/thread-1071.html
I think it could be possible to do hardware modding to add vibration, but this would need some work:
- Find Documentation which way is mostly used in android to connect a vibration motor to a omap2430
Depending on how easy this is (maybe just some transistor + vibration motor connected to the right pin of the chip), it might be possible to do
It also depends how easily those pins are accessible in the Nook Tablet hardware design ...., this needs to be checked
- design a small suitable circuit and use the vibration motor from an old phone / vibrating toothbrush, ....

AFAIK, it does not have vibration feedback. That feature usually exists for phones. There's a tiny little motor inside that makes it vibrate. The Nook Color and Tablet does not have any vibrating motors inside.
If you want noise feedback for incoming Skype calls or notifications, you can change that in the settings menu.

Keyboard problems, double letters

I bought yesterday Honor 10. I see that it has problem when typing message, lot of letters are double written.
I have this problem on both, Swype and GBoard.
Do you have same problems ? How to solve it ?
I did factory reset, and have newest firmware. Still same problem.

Maybe there is possibility to adjust sensitivity of touch lcd ? I see that it's very sensitive when I touch the keyboard keys.
I read some issues that people had same problems with P9 and P10, and after changing the keyboard app it disapear. What keyboard do you use ?
doesnt sound normal,
exhange it now for a new one before you cant exhange it anymore.
honor is a great choice ands built quality is excellent. any brand can have this kind of manufacturing error.
just do all you can not to have to send this phone to repairs. because as with all brands, the chance is high that you ll get back a different phone from these 3rd party repair centers... that'll have a battrry that is no longer good, or maybe other problems.
thats what happened with my motorola phone. if a phone is broken you better repair it yourself.

I have stock rom and stock apps. Its not the app. Check on your settings if the glove mode is on please or at least if that setting exists cause i didn't check on this phone. If setting exists and glove mode is on then turn it off
sounds like glove mode enabled, thigh i think they call it different name in EMUI shipped with H10 AFAIR, something like touch high sensitivity, the phone using it is pretty much unusable
Doesn't seem to have a glove mode.
You changed to gboard and still same?

Ambient Display?

I am looking into possibly buying this phone. Does it have ambient display? I had a lg v20 for a long time and it had the 2nd screen. I like being able to see the time and if i have notifications without having to pick up the phone or turn it on. I recently had to switch to a pixel xl and it sucks! its always a blank screen unless its plugged in to charge (which makes no sense).
anyway. im trying to see if this phone has some sort of ambient display

Thanks! By chance would you be able to tell me if you can feel it vibrate while in your pocket? And if, when on a call you can hear the other person well?

The vibration on this phone is acceptable.
I have no problem feeling the phone in my jeans pocket and I also feel it if I have him on a jacket pocket.
You can hear the other person properly although if you max the volume you'll hear some crackling, especially with headphones.
Other than that it's a good phone for the price you're paying. I got mine oh amazon for 160€ and I'm very pleased!
I put an app on mine called Always on AMOLED. You can customize the look. I have it set to show date, time, and battery. The time is very large and the display shifts periodically, so no burn in. Also, if you have music playing it will give you music control buttons. Best of all, the screen doesn't wake up if you plug it in or unplug it. It does use up battery a little faster, but if you put the phone face down or in a case or in your pocket it turns off. I usually have it in an upright dock so it is charging and and I can see the time and any notifications. By the way, the dock is a V20 dock. It works perfectly with this phone.

does yours fade in and out? when i go into the moto app it says moto display should do so, but mine does not. if i get a notification, it will show once, then phone stays blank unless i touch it.
