Looking for front screen protector... - Samsung Galaxy Fold Accessories

Anyone find a front film screen protector for the front screen of the fold? I saw some for folding screen on eBay...I know that is a no no but not much for front. Share link if you bought one!
Thanks

:good:

Thanks for the effort but link to Chinese website in Youtube video is broken. I'll just wait till something comes up on Amazon I suppose.

That's a skin not a screen protector. And it has a cut section to help peel the screen bit off of the rest so no good as a screen protector

yeah that is a skin...strange no clear film for front (small screen) for this device anywhere. I like the look of the front with no case and back with case when closed. Maybe I'll try to cut my own...

just applied the matte naked skin from slickwrap. the front has option to leave front screen skin on. works well. looks good too

another advantage is that there are no smudges or finger prints residue on front screen once you apply this

I just saw the slickwraps this weekend and I did order the matte clear finish. Glad I got the right one. Thanks!

I'm using an inside screen protector found on ebay. I remember seeing a set for the all the surfaces including the hinge on there. It's a softer self healing material. But man does it help save the inside screen from and nasty little scratches or finger nail marks. Just give it a quick search on ebay

Seems to not be a good idea to put inside screen protector. I think most i see will go on ok and will bend fine but when you eventually remove it it will pull on the soft stock screen and pull it away from the internal screen components. If it is fragile putting pressure on it probably worse pulling on it!

How about the hinge?

so far i have only seen that one "healing screen protector" from korea come with a hinge skin.
are there any other links anyone knows about?

I just put the ebay one on the outside and inner screen. Application is... a b*tch. Lots of patience and do/redo. However, the screen feels REALLY nice now with it on. That + the leather case from Samsung is an awesome combo now!

Awesome RAZR screen protector!

Hi All,
Just wanted to pass this on. I've tried the Verizon screen protector and it totally sucks. It's very thick and makes the touch display really unresponsive, so I pitched that in the trash.
Then I found Steinheil. The SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal (actually, under color choose the Ultra Fine for an extra $2) It is a really nice, matte style screen protector with a wonderful added benefit... NO FINGER PRINTS!
They're not the cheapest, but trust me, I've had several and these are the BEST, hands down!
I am not associated with store or the product. Just a grateful user.
Enjoy!

Never mind..I found the link.

I don't disagree on Steinheil having good screen protectors, but you thought the VZ one was too thick? I'm using the VZ protectors (came in a three pack, the standard not the anti-glare) and it's not thick at all. It is hardly noticable. Only thing I don't like is the way they cut around the top area, and there is a subtle rainbow affect. If you want thick - try the Zagg!
I bought the sgp ultrafine and love everything about it except it makes light backgrounds look all grainy.

yep agreed, I've always used Steinheil protectors. They're the best.
Question though on the RAZR, how did he fit being the screen sort of tapers down at the edges? I was thinking of getting one too as I always do, but man I love the feel of its naked glass..mm.
have always loved steinheil screen protectors! sweet. I think I need to get some. Starting to see some fine scratches on my screen already!
I'm in India, so none of it for me. =P
I got a cover for Rs. 120, thats about 2$ from Amzer. Its matte finish and non-fingerprint magnet

Wondering if it covers the whole screen or just the part above the home buttons. Also, if whole screen, does it have a cutout for the mic on the front screen? What about where the camera is?
thanks.

I've just fitted the 3M Vikuiti ADQC27 and it's brilliant. Reduces reflection making the screen clearer and brighter, and the surface is less grippy than the bare glass. It doesn't resist finger marks all that well though.
It slightly overhangs the bevelled edges of the screen and won't stick to them, but as I have an S-line case on I don't notice particularly.

I've always liked Phantom Skinz.
But right now, I have the one that came with the OtterBox commuter case. seems to be alright.
Just got this one from HK: http://www.obostore.com/nillkin-mat...ilm-layer-for-motorola-razr-p-3273-c-193.html
Works very well, nice matte finish.
Has anyone used one with the Otterbox Commuter? I'm thinking of the UltraFine but curious about any. thanks.
I always used clearprotector, I like the smooth feel.

It's scratch resistant - not proof. I wouldn't worry too much dragging my keys over it but something like sand would likely scratch it.

Its uber scratch resistant. Sand shouldn't even hurt it. I've used sharp keys and tried on my SGS 2. My best effort is to leave impressions of scratches. That's it. If you don't mishandle these devices with the coating, you would never be able to scratch them.
And how to enjoy the super amoled hd screen if you gimp it with a screen protector?

From what I've read, metal is not the problem. But sand is. See Has anyone scratched their gorilla glass for one thread on the topic.
You see plenty of tests of GG with keys and coins, but not sand or sandpaper because it likely will scratch. And pocket dirt often contains sand. Even if you don't put it in your pocket, if you drop it like here, you still are at risk.
I wish this wasn't true, and maybe it's worth taking the risk, but it's worth noting that Corning does not say scratch proof and you never see them test it against sand or sidewalk/road grit.

I am not in the US right now. It may be a bit inconvenience and expensive to ship to Asia. How is the Spigen Note Pro 12.2 Steinheil screen protector? I used to use Spigen (glass and normal) screen protectors and cases for my Note series of phones.
The sales installed a Samsung Galaxy Note/Pro Screen Protector on my device. Within two hours use, I see fingerprints all over it. Do you expect the Spigen protector is better?

Is the screen protector that you're using glossy or a matte finish?
If glossy then applying RainX on it (test on a corner of it first just in case it does something weird to the plastic) will assist not only in reducing fingerprints but in removing them as well. I use RainX on my devices now since I saw this tip a couple of weeks ago and I'm OCD about it now LOL. I'll reapply it once every few days, takes just a couple of minutes to do all of my phones and tablets in the morning so it's no big deal.
Not sure what the Spigen is like, I'm using the MIME glass one.
Good luck!

I bought the sign screen protector and don't really like it. Fingerprints and smudges show really bad and linger no matter how much you wipe the screen. You have to change out the S Pen tip as well because it sticks to the screen protector with the rubber tip. Love Spigen cases as I use them on my note 3 but disappointed in the screen protector.

I ordered and have already received this one from Amazon US:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRRP4CC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
J&D have good reviews on their other screen protectors. Examining them they look great. No reviews on this specific one yet as no one has the phone of course.
I used to have screen protectors and now I got tempered glass on my z5, but then when I recommend it for my sibling's X performance it was all ugly and didn't fit perfectly...
I'm just going to wait to see real life examples first...
What I mentioned earlier was tempered glass, FYI
I ordered the Roxit Tempered Glass protector from Sony direct. Great cover - the only shame is they have the top and bottom blacked out - which means they have a weird cutout feature at the top allowing you to still read the Sony logo - wish they had just made it clear all the way through. But would rather have the phone protected. Will keep an eye out for better protectors I the future though - as it would be nice to see the full screen on the front.

Hi,
Thanks for the recommendation, that's look good.
On the amazon site, there is no cut out for the bottom speaker? Is this the case with the real product? How does that impact on sound quality?
I got the J&D. Not too happy with the fit. Very hard to capture in photos, but here you go..
The issue is, the sides don't lay flush, so it shows up kind of white and will be a dust magnet.
This is another reason why I wish all OEM's would STOP using this curved 2.5 glass! Unless there is some real reason for using it all it does is make using a tempered glass protector nearly impossible to use because none of them fit properly without big gaps on the sides. The LG G6 is probably the only mainstream phone with a truly flat screen.

The normal screen has an oleophobic coating to help repel fingerprints.
The screen protector looks fairly good in the fit and finish... does it adhere well on the edges, or is there that little lift that allows dust and dirt to gather underneath?

I don't recommend it due to the price, I can'f find a screen protector that actually sticks on the sides yet. The case is flimsy which I dont care for but the quality is good if that makes any sense.
Just popped into a shop and saw the chrome - omg - defo my next phone. Used to have a Z1 and had front and rear glass protectors and think the same would be a good idea - not a fan of cases. Anyone seen any rear glass protectors?

I got the Tudia Omnix

I like the Tudia Omnix case it is has 2 parts to the case, a built in screen protector and the rubber case. I am able to keep the pre installed screen protector that came with my phone on and still use this case. It's not bulky either. If I'm going to work or gym I'll put on the tudia case, it keeps my phone clean & safe, if I want to show off my phone I'll put on the Karbon or ebony wood. It's actually not that inconvenient to switch cases and my phone stays cleaner this way, less germs the better.
To install your phone on this case: take my advice it's kind confusing.
Lay the screen protector screen down, (the bottom of the screen protector has some kind of plastic hooks that attach the screen protector to the rubber protective case) slide your phone screen down in the bottom part & gently let the top of your phone fall into the screen protector, the left side will fall in but you'll have you to snap it in on the right. (the phone snaps in very lightly its easy to snap in or out)
NOW to put the rubber on the phone put the Top on first then kinda lift and pull the bottom ON
To take it off lift the lift off the bottom of the case by the headphone jack side, peel the other bottom side first then pull off, it's too hard to take the case off from the top.
Make sure not to make the mistake of putting the phone into the screen protector backwards I did that and scuffed the silver antenna line on my phone.
Do you have any images of the case actually on your phone? Posting images of whats on Amazon isn't particularly useful!

Do you get any rainbow effect on the screen when pressing on the screen protector? if you don't see try shining a light onto the phone.
I bought this same case for my OP5, as the Tudia case for my OP3 was the best. This case is beautiful and feels great in my hand, but I went back to my OtterBox because 1.) it was impossible to pull down anywhere on the status bar with my Tudia case, and 2.) I would get random pops when tapping the screen. I'm quite disappointed, because this is a beautiful and natural-feeling case, and it fits with my Orzly tempered-glass protector.

Im not sure I only use the case if I don't feel like being carful with my phone. Like I live in Las Vegas and if I go to the strip it's pretty wild your drinking, weeds legal, it's packed, your tipsy and everything else is going on. When I decide to put the tudia case on, I'm more trying to keep the phone safe. The case is nice but I wouldn't like this case on while I'm home or even running casual errands, I don't like the way the screen protector feels compared to the one that came pre installed. I bet it has the rainbow effect but i haven't tried it in the day Time yet though, I probably does cause the screen protector is thin plastic.

Glass screen protectors

I dont see why it isnt possible for someone to make a screen protector that is split in two that fits on each side of the screen. This would eliminate the issues with being having to be gentle with the screen, as only the fold would be at risk of scratching and denting.
I now see that this would probably be pretty distracting seeing those edges of the protectors in the center of the screen. Even the fold is visible sometimes. So yea, carry on

Its not just that, the plastic film on the foldable led screen is not designed for an adhesive, and the hinge is not designed for a bigger gap that the additional few mm of the glass would create. Samsung would encourage people to use one if the design allowed it in the first place
I used one available on ebay. It's a soft flexible plastic material. Kinda self healing. Had it on for 2 months and removed it just fine with no damage to the actual screen at all. Replaced it with a new one and the original screen is still perfect underneath. I'm not afraid to use it without washing my hands first now. Lol

That video doesn't show any results for me. But yes it is self healing, has a bit of a rubberized texture, like a zagg but thinner. I've only tried scratching it with my fingernail so not too great of a test. But overall you can't even tell it's on there so I'm happy with it. My device feels more secure.
