Copied Text Leaving On-screen Watermarks - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

I was reading a websiteon Chrome and wanted to copy the text. As soon as I hit the copy button I got a watermark on the screen. It happened earlier also before the October patch but it went away but this time I had to restart my phone.

Yes I have faced this issue and it is very simple to replicate. Select a line of text and drag it. It will leave an imprint on the screen

Like this right ?

Yeah exactly like that. Is this bug device specific or something more?

How to replicate this? I opened Chrome, selected some random text, clicked copy and nothing bad happened. EU rom, October patch.

Had this issue for the first time yesterday, copying a text from gmail.

Ui bugs hope they'll solve in next updates

Guys, don't forget to submit feedback for this (and other issues). It's important to include logs and replicate the issue shortly after you submit the bug report (it automatically collects system logs for a minute or two).

I never had this issue. Global rom, October patch.

Hello,
I have exactly same issue. I've tried to use included xiaomi report program but it always crashed, when I try to send bugreport.
Maby anyone has contacts with Xiaomi engineers to raise up this problem?

I have the same issue, didn't know what to do.

There is nothing to do except restarting/killing the app which caused the "permanent" text on the screen. Hopefully it'll get fixed with Android 10.

Yes guys, I had found the temporary solution without restarting!
After appearing that text, you could go to facebook app and find some video post, after that you could tap and hold to that post 'video' about one second, after playing video text disappears. I hope this could help someone.

And another one.
Just close the app from where you had copied the text.

This one did the trick. Hopefully they fix this bug.

To replicate : select a text, release, then tap and hold it again and move it. It's a super annoying bug !

It just happened to me now in T9 MIUI 12. Closed chrome, since the dragged text was from chrome, but it still appears on screen, even after locking or unlocking.

Why do you find necessary to reply to 1 year old post, and even with wrong answer? This bug was present in Android 9 and has been fixed in Android 10.

Honor 7 PLK-UL00 Recent apps not showing.

I am using latest EMUI version 4.0 in Honor 7 (PLK-UL00C675B351). It's recently used apps button when touched, is not showing anything, rather it turns my wallpaper black for a second and then restores. I have recorded my screen to show the exact problem being faced by me (thanks to new screen recording feature given in EMUI 4.0). I am not able to provide the link to the screen recording due to being a new member in xda.
Due to this I am unable to switch between apps and also not able to stop the unwanted apps that keep on running. Please tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Did you try a factory reset after backing up your apps and data using hisuite app?
You can restore the backup later and check if the problem still persists?

Have a factory reset and check as said in previous post.

I have a faced this problem too. I solved it by uninstalling the latest installed apps one by one. In my case seven adclear was probably causing this issue. You can try it too. Uninstalling is less pain than an entire reset.

Hi, I had tried each and everything for it. From factory reset to manual updating to existing EMUI version. Nothing solved that problem.
Few days back I was lying on my bed, exploring some unknown features. I came through the 'Floating Dock'. This thing actually solved my issue. This floating icon on home screen has a button which clears all apps consuming power and takes the phone to optimal level. After using it, my recent app widget issue is not creating that problem. I am happy now. Thanks for your help too.
Floating Dock helped me

Yes there is. Make sure you have updated to the latest ROM (EU is B380)
1 - Backup all your stuff with Huawei native app
2 - Factory reset and let it boot
3 - Setup your google account and nothing more. Also don´t restore any apps yet.
4 - Test incoming calls when screen is off.
5 - Setup Huawei account
7 - Install Skype and it will restore itself call and chat history
8 - Test Skype (I have problems with it but I have 2 additional devices with the same account at the same time that rings at the same time so it might be just me)
9- Install fresh remaining communications apps like Whatsapp. From my experience when you restore from backup they will bug the notifications, so it´s better a fresh install while just restoring the chat history from backup.
10 - Setup maximum priority for communication apps notification
11 - If you feel it´s necessary you can also set those apps not to be closed and be automatically launched at startup.

No,
just open Telephon Manager
Enable Notification Manager and then check the config
you also have to allow the apps in autostart manager
and protect them

So there is no solution, just to wait and hope they will fix it. And how about rooting and putting some other ROM? Is there any stable ROM for PLK-TL01H?

It's probably cuz these are third party apps
It's from Play Store.
I also tried with b170 and b360 update. I dont have the notification problem in my Honor 7 Indian Version..
Most notification problems comes from restoring those apps from backup.
If you just install a fresh app after factory reset and then ONLY restore app history (if needed as Skype doesnt need) you shouldnt get any notification problem.
Well phone is new, there is no any backup. I tried factory reset, same problem. I am waiting 14 days for huawei unlock code, i will root phone and then move apps from data/app to system/app, that should solve the problem. I am on EMUI 4.0.1 so that's all with marshmallow, everything else is working ok.

I updated to today's OTA and now I only get headlines in Google now

I updated to today's OTA and now I only get headlines in Google now.
When I swipe left I see all the articles with only the headline and a photo. No short summary.
The "more articles" section it's not affected.a refresh or system restart does not change
anything.

It seems I should refer to it as "Google feed" now. No-one else has this issue?
The S9+ is not rooted. Some things were removed after I bought it using ADB, but that has been some time ago. I had at least 2 OTA's since. This happened after I accepted the last OTA (of this weekend).

Are you talking about OS OTAs or updates to the Google app? Your original and follow up post weren't clear enough for anyone to offer help. It does seem like there may be an issue with Google Feed with an easy fix though. Changing the wallpaper. Seems silly, but might help you.

Hi... I was referring to the OS OTA of last weekend.
The link you gave me is indeed what's happened to me. Thanks!!!
The new problem I'm facing now is that I'm now somehow tangled in a Samsung account which I refuse to make.
Maybe i need to remove that wallpaper manager to get one that is not linked to Samsung.
If I can't find that I'll be back.
Many thanks
EDIT:
I removed Samsung themes and installed some other app and my feeds have returned

Problem while scrolling in some apps

I'm using 9.6.22 build, some apps have this issue when we try to scroll. The previous items overlap in the list and look like what's there in the bottom. Like playstore, phone, WhatsApp... I've only noticed it happening in these places. I'll attaching screens, but better you guys see it for yourself by trying. Incase you guys are not facing any issue on the same build, tell it in this thread.
You didn't mention you 'issue' in specific.

Me too, tried scrolling in different ways in playstore and phone but no such issues are present.
I can confirm. Happening to me. In pixel experience and arrow GSI images as well. I think it's a app optimisation problem. With the rounded edges and everything our device has a very weird resolution.
Can someone confirm this is not a hardware problem. ....?

I cannot confirm it (as I'm still hoping it's solvable) but I think that scrolling at the sides issue and touch problems don't happen in TWRP recovery. I may be wrong but when I scrolled through files in TWRP it seemed perfectly fine.
I started noticing this after I updated the phone, before that it was perfectly fine. Can people confirm this in the previous build 9.6.14? If so then we might have a big problem
Guess update was not good. That's why they chose to rollback. I changed to miui 10, and now everything is fine again. So it's not a hardware issue.
Confirmed, I had the same issue on my Xiaomi Mi 8 on a gsi.
Try using 9.6.14 build, or update to the recent miui 10, it's a software bug, not a hardware problem. That's probably why they rolled back the recent update.

Photos getting "cleaned up / corrected?"

I use Google Photos as my default photo app. Whenever I tap something -
1. image is loaded
2. half second
3. boosted/corrected image is loaded
It's rather annoying, especially when I'm on Display > Image Quality Settings > Standard mode.
I also have Auto Creator Mode off.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Yes is happening to me, just tried. Didn't notice before because I use album app. It's really weird and annoying
Right, thanks for letting me know. It's apparently a bug in Google Photos itself. Not a phone issue.
I sent a mail to the google support, but well, it's really weird since after reinstalling the app, it does well for some times and then the bug appears out of nowhere.
Can confirm it's definitely the app. Revert back to the previous version, and the issue no longer exists.
Thanks guys, it's definitely a pain but very obvious

I just stopped the auto update and after de-activating reactivating the photo app, I didn't updated it. Bim, fixed. I don't even know what are the changes with all those updates without a proper patch note.
Update google photos has fix the bug
Sori still have that symptom
