Please see the attached screenshot every time i open messaging app a popup appear which is very annoying.

Before any one chews my head off, I have searched the site and Google and a can’t find an answer
I am trying to see if there is way to stop my IM messages (Whatsapp,skype, google talk) from displaying the message content in the notification bar.
When I receive sensitive information I don’t want any part of the message to be displayed in the notification bar. I only want to notified that I have a new message
I have tried turning off the notifications on the notification bar but then I never know when I have a new message.
Handcent does this brilliantly with text message but I can’t seem to find a way to turn it off for Instant messages
Can anyone help?
Guess there isn't an app for everything
If there isn't a setting in the individual app then I am not sure its possible...at least in a simple way.
Contact the app developers.....for SMS I know handcent has the option to turn off the text in the notification bar.

My friend has the LG G2 and when he gets a text message while in an app, he gets the QSlide pop up window with the text and is able to reply without leaving the app. Right now what I've been able to figure out is that we can open the QSlide Text messaging pop up to send a text, but I don't know how to set it up to pop up when I receive a text while in an app. Anyone know how / if we can do this on the G3? Thanks in advance.

Why Themer opens SMS app with the create new message screen instead of the all messages like it is suppose to be?
If I click on my SMS icon in app list it opens the inbox sms, and If I create a widget and place a icon and choose Themer SMS it opens the screen to create a new message everytime.
It is possible to change that?

Anyone knows if its possible to use a widget with zooper to open SMS, but the way it opens when you tap on the sms icon and not the way that themer opens "Themer Default SMS" ?
What I mean is, I could use a bitmap for example and when I tap on it, it opens my custom application. In this example SMS.

Hi,
This is a strange bug that our developers are still looking into. It seems that if you have multiple SMS apps, it'll open the New Message box. What SMS app are you using? Hangouts seems to work great, but if you're still having trouble let us know!
I was wondering if anyone could answer this quick question:
Are you able to reply to a sms via the popup or does it open up the messaging app and close your current open app. On my Samsung s4, I am given the option to open the messaging app or call the sender but not reply within the popup itself.

All you get is a heads up notification, which is a preview of the message. If you tap on it, it will open the message in the messaging app on top of your current app. When you close the messaging app, you are returned to your current app.

This problem only began happening yesterday but i do not recall downloading anything new or changing settings. I will attach a screenshot (with sensitive info blanked) which shows what is happening. I use cloudmagic for email and textra for texts. It has always just shown the messages from each simply with the person its from and the body of the text below. However now i am seeing duplicated of both texts messages and emails (not whatsapp duplicated though) . One is the normal textra/cloudmagic notification but the other is the more blank looking one of each, with the grey icon - See screenshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to get the second almost blank (except for sender) notification turned off for both texts and emails. Thanks
You are also getting notifications from the stock apps. Simple. Go in and shut them off

I have set the 'email' app to show no notification from this app in - sound and notificiation area and also in the app area listed unticked show notifications. Same for default messaging. Is there anywhere else this needs to be done?

No telling as I am sure we have different devices and different setups. Could be something got corrupted. Try making sure that all things are marked as read and then clear the cache in the apps and reboot.

It seems that your third party apps are conflicting with system apps thats why you receive duplicated notifications, however you can go to application manager in Settings and set default apps of your choice, hope this may solve your problem

Long press the notification and then hit the info button that will tell you what app it is and allow you to disable the notification.
Ok that was helpful and its make me discover the weirdest thing, both notifications are from the app i want to use. So for emails its cloudmagic and it sends me the usual cloudmagic notification - with the sender and body and also sends me the second grey empty notification. Whats wierder still its the same for texts, double notification, one the normal textra notification, the other greyed out and also from textra. So none of the stocks apps are sending the dual notifications
Actually just noticed it only happens ont he lock screen, not int he pull down notification area. I am using smart launcher
