Help me get a patched_ramdisk.img - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

OEM: Unlocked
FRP: Unloked
Hey guys I am trying to root my phone with Magisk but I'm struggling with the patched_ramdisk.img...
If anyone could help me with this situation, my version is ANE-L21 9.1.0.228(C432)

You need firmware where to able to extract recovery_ramdisk. For my personal experience you can use 9.1.0.200,extract ramdisk with Huawei extractor from update.app ,install magisk manager and patch ramdisk. After that reboot to fastboot, flash with fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk magisk_patched.img than reboot to recovery.

You don't need to use PiSpecialist's TWRP. You can try this one http://projectmarshmallow.altervista.org/twrp-sony-m4-aqua/ And you don't need to flash any ZIP. You need to flash Boot.img provided in PiSpecialist's Thread. On link I posted, there is a guy with same model E2363 and everything is working fine for him, he used the file for E2333 model. Or you flashed the wrong file, or you did something wrong.

you just have to flash boot image from fastboot, command given in thread.
If you want to use your own boot image you can download the recovery/fastboot rom from miui and get boot.img from the zip.
and then you would have to patch that boot image from magisk manager.
The boot image i have uploaded is already patched.
I don't know about boot.img.p maybe rename it lol?
So have you successfully rooted your phone? Or waiting for 7 days to unlock the bootloader.
Actually I downloaded ROM ota zip from server. After extracting using winrar. I found Boot.img.p
Also there are many article which give instructions to extract actual boot.img from this type of extension.
May I know how from where you downloaded rom file and after extraction directly you got the Boot.img?

You have to download the FULL OTA and take boot.img from it to do the whole process.
I had to download the FULL OTA of the new update and patch again. I made a new thread but mod deleted it,

Installing Magisk leads to 'Unsupported/Unknown image format' error

Hi,
I tried to install Magisk by first unlocking the bootloader, installing a custom recovery (TWRP) and later flashing Magisk. Unfortunately during the installation of TWRP I got hit with boot loop and used Sony's flash tool to get the stock ROM and get booted. But the ROM offered by flash tool is 6.01 (Marshmallow). Then I tried to install the latest Magisk 20.4 both by using TWRP and by using Magisk manager. But both resulted in the 'Unsupported/Unknown image format' error. These are the logs I see are:
- Device platform: arm64-v8a
- Copying image to cache
- Unpacking boot image
! Unsupported/Unknown image format
! Installation failed
Basically I want to:
1) Install Magisk
2) Upgrade from Marshmallow to the latest Android stock.
Any guidance is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Karthik

HI Zaqm,
I tried the latest Magisk 20.4 and few other previous versions but I don't remember giving v18 or v18.1 a try. I will do that.
Also, I would like to share that I did not allow TWRP to modify the system partition. I opted to keep the system partition 'Read Only'. The reason I did this is that whenever I allow TWRP to modify the system partition, I get stuck at the SONY boot logo and my phone would not boot and I need to reflash the stock ROM again.
I also came to know that I need to flash a rooted kernel to avoid the bootloop or I should flash the drm fix if I want to keep the stock kernel. Can you comment on that?
Thanks,
Karthik

Question Patch boot.img (Magisk)

Hi guys.
I'm on MIUI Global 12.5.1.0 RKIEUOR. Already unlocked the device and would like to root with Magisk, so I'm looking for boot.img to patch it with Magisk app, but the only rom version I can find to extract boot.img for 12.5.1.0 is RKIEUXM.
Would it matter if I use this one?
Why can't you just download twrp (I know it's in development but it works) and just flash magisk via it?

My phone was is running an EMEA ROM, once the latest 12.5 update popped there was no archive version with .img files inside, so I downloaded the ROM for a different region (similar version, though), extracted the boot.img, patched it with Magisk and flashed it to the phone. Everything works fine, no issues.

Sorry, I don't understand. You did root Xiaomi.eu 22.1.5 by flashing Magisk through TWRP 3.6, or by patching boot.img and flashing the patched img through Fastboot?
And by using Magisk Stable v23 or Canary 23016?
Or you tried but you got a bootloop?
In that case again, which Magisk version and by which method (TWRP or patching & flashing)?

With previous Weekly MIUI 13/A12 you were able to install Magisk (or this is now the first MIUI 13/A12 Xiaomi.eu Weekly)?
