hey guys so not sure if im posting in the right section but i would like to help those who having problems with there s6/s6 edge. some links will be in this post to help just keep scrolling!
So i had the same problem before but manage to fix it myself from trial and error.
Ill go through and tell you how.
step 1: so get the latest firmware for your device download it also get the pit file for your device too!
step 2: extract the firmware using 7zip so you get boot.img, recovery.img etc...
step 3: boot phone into download mode using volume down + home + power
step 4: open odin and flash the recovery image you extracted from the stock firmware as well as the pit file
step 5: load recovery and wipe/factory reset
step 6: go back into download mode and try flashing stock firmware
done should be working!
Troubleshoot:
If flashing recovery and stock downt work try flashing the pit first then recovery.img
if still does not work ignore the pit file and just carry on without the pit file
If you still have problems reply down below and i shall help you out best i can. this is what i did to fix my s6 edge

Open Odin connect your device which should be in download mode click AP find the recovery.img then flash it hope this has helped

I suppose the baseband (CP) version you have attached is G850FXXU1CPC1
I have version G850FXXU1COJ5 and can't update - Odin can't flash, no details for the error, just failed 1. The full name of the ROM I had flashed is
G850FXXS2CQA2_G850FOLB2COJ1_G850FXXU1COJ5_HOME.tar.md5
and previously I had used
G850FXXU2COK6_G850FOLB2COJ1_G850FXXU1COJ5_HOME.tar.md5
which seem to have same baseband.
Why can't I update the baseband?

I am trying to flash newer baseband from what I have: G850FXXU1COJ5
I tried but failed with flashing through odin of the following two:
G850FXXU2COK6.bin
G850FXXU1CPC1.bin
Perhaps I am making a mistake in flashing it, but I am not aware which is newer or what is the difference between these two U2 COK6 and U1 CPC1
U2 > U1, but COK6 < CPC1, so which one is newer?

Yesterday I flashed a boot logo on my SM-G928F in TWRP. After that my phone doesn't boot into system or recovery anymore - there's always a blackscreen. I only can boot into download mode.
I tried to flash a stock-rom via Odin but that didn't helped - the same blackscreen, because a stock rom does not replace the boot logo.
I think I have to flash the stock boot logo ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1378RQ5w_vAAmnQ3HB0FymZXWIm12T0Mg/view ) , but thats a zip which I can't flash via Odin.
There a two ways in my mind which could work:
1. Getting a tar.md5 file with the stock boot logo.
2. Getting a tool which allows to flash zips in download mode of the phone.
I really hope that someone could help me with my big problem.

I recommend to flash the firmware again but this time after flashing firmware flash the twrp and flash the zip via adb sideload ( a feature present in TWRP) as by adb sideload one is able to flash zip files as well
Or i recommend you to get to know the combination of keys that will help you to directly enter into recovery

Thank you for your answer but that didn't worked. The problem is that flashing the stock firmware doesn't replace or repair the boot image. So I've got a never ending blackscreen when I want to boot in system or TWRP/Recovery and that means that I'm not able to configure ADB Sideload.
I can only boot into download mode, nothing else.
I think the jpg of the boot logo I've installed was corrupted so it can't be loaded
You are in download mode so you have to press all the keys including the home button and once the download mode closes then press the "volume up key and power key and also the home button and then your phone will automatically reboot into recovery.
I know, I tried that multiple times but it doesn't work. Blackscreen... only a never ending blackscreen. The download mode is the only thing taht works. I have to flahs the old boot logo via download mode... but i don't know how

I really need someone who is able to integrate the stock boot logo into a custom rom which can be flashed via Odin... Or I need a tool which allows to install zips in download mode. I tried adb sideload again but it didn't recognizes my phone when its not in recovery.

I only tried to flash stock firmware with AP in Odin... and I tried stock rom with re-partition.
Where do I get those 4 files? I need XEU for my SM-G928F. It would be very nice if you could give me a more detailed instruction for this because I never worked with PIT...
get samfirm v0.3.6
On the model you put sm-g928f, region XEU, tick the binary nature box and press "check update". Download the resulting file, that is a factory firmware to do repairs in a 4 files format: bootloader, pda or ap, modem or cp and csc!
You will get this file:
SM-G928F_1_20180305151001_nsg8uwd0sh_fac.zip
Put each file in the correct field in odin!
About combination firmware, it needs to be same binary version as stock firmware already programed on phone! if first number on firmware version is a 3, combination FW need to be also bin 3!
G928FXXS4CRB4 if is 4, you need comb fw also in bin 4! if you downgrade you get odin error and a softbrick!
Was checking if any comb. fw is available, but i find only paid files for your phone model!

It worked means you got your phone back to normal or you could get the firmware using samfirm?
Pit file is always inside csc file on a 4 files fac firmware. Use the pit on firmware because the pit from your link can be from a early version of android and have different bits for partition sizes!
EDIT: Here, got the combination fw for the binary 4. IF your phone is already ok, don't use this!

I have the same problem on my j2 prime I can only goto download mode and in odin tried to install stock firmware but got write fail..can you please help me with this error
I was using a custom OREO rom, and i tried to install another country's stock firmware (CYV) which had android OREO. Now my sim is not recognised, I am trying to flash the original stock of my carrier(COS) (Which had android 7) firmware but odin fails, and device shows SYSTEM REV. CHECK DEVICE 1 BINARY 0.
I can only use ODIN to flash the new (CYP) firmware.
Also after installing the CYP firmware it added on the boot a line Protected by knox which did not exist before, please I have tried everything? Is my phone bricked for good?
Hi , try this:
1. Download your stock firmware Android 7 if you have it skip this step

2. Once you download your firmware use 7-zip and rename end of firmware name tar.md5 to .tar and extract to desktop just recovery.img .
3. Now use 7-zip and recovery.img to archive recovery.tar .
4. Open Odin , click on AP and add recovery.tar , put your device in Download mode and flash with odin .
5. If you successfully flashed recovery just reflash after that full firmware .
If that problem is still there try DBT version .

I wanted to root my A52 5G (SM-A526B) i first unlocked the bootloader
then i downloaded my Firmware with Frija and patched the boot.img with Magisk then i went into download mode and flashed it with Odin
Odin gave me a Green PASS Message and i knew i needed to factory reset with recovery mode but i couldnt get into it then i got into a boot loop with the Samsung Galaxy Bootlogo
then i tried to flash Twrp with odin to factory reset because i couldnt get into the stock recovery mode Odin again gave me a PASS Message then i tried to get into recovery mode but it still didnt work and now im trying to flash Stock Firmware but cant get it to work what should i do

The a52 5g doesn't have twrp currently. Also, you might have flashed the incorrect firmware.
Plus, just for you to know, you do not need to do factory reset after flashing your firmware. What steps have you taken to flash this firmware? How did you patch magisk? Show the steps so we can help you cuz you might have done something wrong
Ok it seems that your mistake here is that you are trying to flash boot.img. so what you actually suppose to do is to download the firmware, take the AP file from the firmware(don't extract the file!). Then, move the file to your phone and download magisk on your phone. You will see that magisk is offering you to install magisk on the top corner of your screen. You need to choose to patch the file, the AP file. Once magisk done, on your file explorer(probably in downloads) a file called "magisk_patched xxxx.tar" (the xxxx representing the version of magisk). Take this file and copy it to your computer, and on Odin, instead of using the AP file, use the magisk file. Boom, done. Now first, we need to recover your phone to its original condition. Take the AP file and flash it(not the boot.img!)

Try flashing other parts of firmware, not just AP
i.e. BL, CSC and CP
But don't add home_csc (USERDATA).
If all fails, you can use EDL mode to flash firmware

My Samsung Galaxy A03 died (sorta) and then I could use it only after the battery discharged.
Few months later I tried rooting again.

Prerequisites:- Your device will be factory reset! Make sure you backup!
- This guide assumes that you are on the latest firmware.
- Download and install Samsung USB drivers from here.
- Download ODIN from here.
- Download and install 7-Zip from here.
Guide:1. Download firmware zip using this.
2. Extract it.
3. Extract boot.img from AP archive.
4. Patch boot.img in Magisk and copy it back to PC.
5. Rename it to boot.img.
6. Right click on boot.img then hover on 7-Zip and then click on Add to archive
7. Click on archive format and select "tar" from the dropdown menu.
8. Toggle OEM unlock from developer options (to enable keep tapping the build number in software info till developer options are not enabled)
9. If your device is carrier locked then close this tab and go do something else.
10. If you see OEM unlock and toggled it then we are ready for the next step.
11. Power off device.
12. Press volume up + volume down and then attach USB cable to phone with PC.
13. A warning screen should appear.
14. Long press volume up and then press volume up for confirmation.
15. Your device will reset and the bootloader will be unleashed!
16. When you get to the setup, power it off again.
17. Follow step 12 again but this time don't long press, only short press volume up.
18. It should get into download mode.
19. Open ODIN then the log should show "Added!!!", If it doesn't then try reinstalling drivers and reboot.
20. Then click the AP button and then select the boot.tar file.
21. Click on "Start"
22. It will flash and automatically reboot.
23. Setup your phone and install Magisk and you should be rooted!

Follow this guide if you rooted this phone to get rid of privacy invasion and software restrictions and if you live in India (UP) and got this phone for free.
OTA Updates (For this phone and similar devices, not a general guide!):Samsung phones do not have A/B partition scheme. Samsung's OTA updater will be broken and any update you try will fail. However, flashing the latest version with Odin should work and then flashing patched boot.img separately. Cannot guarantee it works on this phone though. If it works I'll definitely update this guide.
EDIT: Flashing official firmware and then flashing patched boot.img works!
